Welcome back to swing it and ding it.

Speaker 5 (00:52):
I appreciate it.

Speaker 6 (00:53):
Thanks for having me back, No problem, all rights.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
One of our most frequent guests.

Speaker 3 (00:57):
I think now, Yeah, he's getting there, Yeah, get there.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
All right.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
Well, let's start obviously have to start with the most
obvious and topical thing to talk about right now. Did
you see that fight on social media?

Speaker 5 (01:09):
They got fight with the NHL player.

Speaker 7 (01:12):
Oh my good man, I tell you why when I.

Speaker 5 (01:15):
But he tossed them across the car path.

Speaker 7 (01:17):
That had me going, that was that was funny, unbelievable.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
I mean, I don't think I've ever seen a video
like that.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
I mean, just eating punches while guy is saying bang
to you while he punches you is just next.

Speaker 7 (01:36):
I mean, I gotta imagine that guy was a little
under the influence and he probably.

Speaker 5 (01:40):
Wasn't feeling too well. Next, Yeah, that's a bad bigger and.

Speaker 7 (01:43):
Go back looking at punched and banged out.

Speaker 5 (01:48):
Man, that was funny.

Speaker 6 (01:49):
Play does the people you know, Yeah, maybe maybe a
couple of weeks.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
Unbelievable, but listen, we appreciate you coming back. I looked
it was October of last year when you came on.
Mia was sixteen months old, and you were, you know,
talk We were talking about your your planning and how
you're gonna get started in Hawaii, and you know, we talked,
we talked about your golf journey and before that and
then here you are, right, you're into the into the

(02:21):
PGA Tour season. You have three top ten, seven top
twenty fives. Most recently you know at T eight at
the Rocket and a T three at the John Deere,
So talk to us about where this season is for you,
your standards, how you think things are moving, and where
you are right now.

Speaker 7 (02:38):
Yeah, it's obviously been a pretty darn good season so far.
You know, I'm super happy to carry over my consistency
from the corn Ferry over here to the PGA Tour
for my second go around out here. You know, feel
a lot more comfortable out here. And yeah, you know,
I feel like, you know, the game has been pretty

(02:59):
good for most of the year. You know, I unfortunately
didn't really have quite a good uh Florida swing, but
I think I missed three cuts in Florida.

Speaker 5 (03:09):
But it's part of golf.

Speaker 7 (03:11):
But yeah, you know, as of late, I started working
with a new putting coach, Ralph Bauer.

Speaker 5 (03:17):
I don't know, probably maybe a month and a half ago.

Speaker 7 (03:19):
So we put some pretty good, uh long days on
the greens, working hard on more of like a process
routine and reading the greens, and you know it's nice
to kind of see uh, some of that hard work
paying off.

Speaker 5 (03:32):
So yeah, the season has been been good so far.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
Awesome Kevin confidence wise, how does it finish like that?
Tee three and John Deere Moos just went through you know,
your your top your past three weeks of finishing. How
does that shift your mindset going into these next year
starts on tour here?

Speaker 7 (03:50):
Yeah, you know, obviously the T three changed, uh, you
know a little bit.

Speaker 5 (03:54):
You know, the next four events.

Speaker 7 (03:56):
You know, we got up to seventy first in the
FedEx Cup and top seventy make it to the first
playoff event.

Speaker 5 (04:02):
So yeah, obviously confidence is real high right now.

Speaker 7 (04:05):
And you know, like I said, I've been playing pretty
darn good golf all the way back to the Canadian Open.
You know, I was a couple of shots from you know,
having a really good tournament there. I think it was
a top twenty. But so yeah, you know, I'm really
looking forward to these next few events. You know, like
I said, golf games in a really good spot. My
mind's in a really good spot, and obviously pretty darn
confident right now. So looking forward to the finish of

(04:29):
this regular season.

Speaker 6 (04:31):
Now that T three at the John Deere, that final
round was a bogie free sixty five. That's impressive golf
right there. What kind of like in media we all say, oh, momentum,
Like is there golf momentum? Like can you take something
from that round and move it to this week and
a different golf course, one that you've never played before.

Speaker 5 (04:52):
Yeah, I definitely believe in momentum. You look at it.

Speaker 7 (04:54):
You know a couple of guys that have been, you know,
playing awesome golf this year in Andrew Novak and Ben Griffin.
You know they've I mean, Ben's been riding momentum for
however long now, I mean.

Speaker 5 (05:05):
Months long momentum.

Speaker 7 (05:06):
But yeah, for sure, Like I said, you know the
T eight and Rocket Mortgage, I played awesome there all week,
and you know, I was obviously thrilled to you know,
bring it over to the John Deere and keep playing
really good golf.

Speaker 5 (05:18):
So yeah, I I totally believe in momentum.

Speaker 4 (05:21):
And golf absolutely. So talk to us about the bunker
situation this week.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
Learn you learn something new every day, and all of
a sudden, you see your name popping up in headlines.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
Was already tweeted a respond.

Speaker 5 (05:34):
Yeah. I'm not a big Twitter guy, but I did
have to. I did have to clear it up.

Speaker 7 (05:39):
A little bit just because I don't know who it was,
but he was kind of getting under my skin a
little bit. But yeah, so, I mean I I I
didn't hit a good nine iron and it bounced into
the bunker and it kind of rolled up and stayed
in it's pitch mark, you know, getting up there. I
knew it was going to be an impossible shot to
get out of the bunker because it was a pretty
deep bunker.

Speaker 5 (05:58):
But anyways, so the rule was.

Speaker 7 (06:02):
If your ball, if my ball came back down, and
I will admit from the TV it did look like
the footprint was close to the golf ball. Obviously, I
called the rules official over. That's kind of what I
was tweeting at that guy. I was like, hey, man, like,
it's a tough argument for you. I had a rules
official there. But the ruling is that if if the
if my original footprint wasn't like if I wasn't going

(06:24):
to hit it on my backstroke or my downstroke, or
wasn't in my like line of play, I'm able to
rake it. Now if it was closer, I couldn't rake
it because that would be basically improving your live So
my ball was easily two two and a half feet
in front of the in front of the footmark. So
to be honest with you, I I didn't I didn't

(06:45):
know what I could do. And that's why I called
the rules by my caddi Actus was like, let's call
it rules official, just to see and obviously.

Speaker 5 (06:51):
It was a good decision on his part.

Speaker 7 (06:53):
But yeah, Twitter, that was the first time I remember
I had to respond to someone on Twitter. But you know, hey,
I'm not the rules official. I don't know why they're
going at me.

Speaker 3 (07:05):
Yeah, from someone from their couch knew more about what apparently.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
Something you know. Yeah, oh man, that final round keV
of the John Dear like bogie free sixty five, like hero.
I was saying, how does that, like, how does your
mind shift, you know, kind of switch with that, like
anything you would think or do differently, you know, heading
into a next final round.

Speaker 7 (07:31):
Yeah, you know, to be honest with you, I I
got off to a really hot start on Saturday. I
buried the first four holes and I think I had
the solo lead for a while. And I'll be the
first to admit when all the cameras showed up, I
kind of felt a little pressure. I was like, oh boy,
this is uh, this is a real thing now on
the weekend of the PJ Tour event, and you know,

(07:52):
I was obviously pretty upset with the way I finished.
You know, I had a tough back nine. I think
I ended up only shooting one under. So I was
a little.

Speaker 5 (08:00):
Upset that night.

Speaker 7 (08:03):
And Sunday I woke up, but you know, I had
my wife and daughter with me, and we had a
great morning, got some breakfast and coffee, and for some reason,
I felt like super calm all all Sunday morning. And
then going to the golf course, you know, I had
an unreal warm up and I just kind of told JP.
I was like, hey man, we got really nothing to
lose here. Let's just go out and have a good

(08:23):
walk here. And I was really, really really happy with
the way I performed. You know, no bogies on a Sunday,
and you know, felt really good coming down the stretch.
It was. It was a pretty cool and special moment,
especially you know, birdying eighteen in front of that many
people was really sweet.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
That's crazy. I can't imagine, like you said, all of
a sudden, these cameras show up and you're just like,
oh wow, like this is real. So I'd say you
did pretty good handling that pressure. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (08:49):
Yeah, I'll be honest.

Speaker 7 (08:50):
I mean Sunday we didn't really have as many cameras
as we did on Saturday, so that back nine, I
didn't really you know, it probably would it maybe we're
changed for knows, but yeah, it was kind of weird.
It was like, it's a storm of carts coming right
at our group on Saturday on like the eighth hole,
and I saw a leaderboard. I'm like, oh wow, yeah yeah,

(09:15):
so it was yeah, it was like you know, I
would I wouldn't say I was like nervous or anything.

Speaker 5 (09:19):
It's just a little bit.

Speaker 7 (09:20):
Of pressure and you know, obviously I haven't really been
in that position like you know, Rocket Mortgage. I finished
t eighth, but I was never really in contention to
win the tournament. It was more kind of contending to uh,
you know, to try to snag a top ten.

Speaker 5 (09:31):
So yeah, it was.

Speaker 7 (09:34):
It was a fun Sunday round, but I felt I
felt weirdly calm all day.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
It was.

Speaker 5 (09:38):
It was it was cool.

Speaker 6 (09:40):
Yeah, yeah, that's got to be kind of weird when
that guy sets up the tripod behind you every shot
and on the fairway, it's like, dude, I'm on TV.

Speaker 7 (09:50):
Yeah, I've never had so many. Uh my phone went
absolutely berserk afterwards. I had people that I've never even
I don't even know if I've ever talked to in
my life. Send me videos of them recording the TV
or something. It was, it was, it was crazy.

Speaker 6 (10:03):
Now this week's tournament is at a different location there
at Hurstborn country Club near Louisville. Tell us about this place.
How much experience have you gotten out there this week?
How many you know, how many nines have you played? Eighteen? What?
What's your what's your take going into tomorrow?

Speaker 7 (10:21):
Yeah, it's a it's a definitely an upgrade from Keens Trace.
There's no time about that, but it's a it's an
old school country club. It's actually pretty sweet.

Speaker 6 (10:32):
You know.

Speaker 5 (10:32):
It's not your typical bomb drivers.

Speaker 7 (10:34):
It's a lot of positioning, you know, a lot of
two forty to two sixty off the tee. Fairways are
going to be a premium. Greens are small and firm
right now. I don't know if there's much rain in
the forecast. I've only played, I played, I played all eighteen,
I played nine yesterday, and then I played nine in
the prom today.

Speaker 5 (10:53):
So it's a fun course. It's fun to play.

Speaker 7 (10:56):
I think it is gonna be a little challenging, you know,
especially if you're in the fairway coming.

Speaker 5 (11:01):
Out of the rough to these greens is is not
going to be easy.

Speaker 7 (11:03):
So but you know, like I said, I feel good
and swing feels good still, and yeah, looking forward to
the week.

Speaker 3 (11:11):
It's been so much fun talking to you these couple
of times, because like we're going through this, like we're
like kind of documenting this experience, right, and you're you're
stacking new experiences on each time we talk to you, right,
And it's so cool to see the progression, right, and.

Speaker 4 (11:25):
Now you're you're you know, you're you're in the lead.

Speaker 3 (11:28):
You have the cameras following you, like just just seeing
how that goes. Last time we talked, you talked about
a couple of mindset things and uh, you talked about
having some frustrations on Saturday. But last time we talked
about staying in the green light, right, having that mindset.
Were you still sticking with that and you think that's
what really kind of helped you kick back into gear
on Sunday?

Speaker 5 (11:45):
Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 7 (11:46):
You know, I got off the phone with Brian, my
mental coach, about an hour ago, and yeah, it's the
same thing.

Speaker 5 (11:52):
You know, we we we call it stacking days.

Speaker 7 (11:54):
It's you know, it's trying to stay in the green
light as much as you possibly can. Of course, I
feel like I've been doing a really good job at it.
We kind of came up with a new a new saying. Uh,
it's a you know, more of like a we call
it shot scanned attitude. You know, obviously like shot scanned
putting this and that. So I'm a shot skined attitude guy.
I tried to go out there and I wanted I

(12:16):
want to be positive when it comes to the shot
scam with my attitude. So yeah, it's been really good.
I've really been happy with you know, with Brian and
the uh, the stuff we've been working on.

Speaker 5 (12:26):
And you know, it's kind of like the putting. It's
it's it's nice to see, uh, some of the work
we've been putting it in paying off.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
That's awesome. I I saw you this past week. I
think it was like coming down. You might have been
walking down eighteen Fairway. Actually I didn't notice you yelled.

Speaker 7 (12:37):
My name crossing over the yelled the people that make
it making it going quicker.

Speaker 2 (12:42):
Yeah, get get her moving. But I was like I turned,
I look and just you just look so calm and
comfortable out there and just to like say, hey, what's up.
You know, walking down eighteen, I was like, it's pretty
cool just to see kind of how relaxed you are
out there.

Speaker 7 (12:56):
Yeah, I definitely feel more comfortable out here this this
go around. You know, going back to Brian, It's one
of those things like when I'm walking down fairways, I
don't I don't want anyone to know if I'm six
over six under. I just want to look just very normal.
And you know, because you know there's times where I've
been playing really well and I walk faster and you

(13:16):
know this and that, and obviously playing bad, you walk slower.

Speaker 5 (13:18):
So I just try to kind of keep everything the same.

Speaker 7 (13:20):
And you know, it's like one of those things, you know,
if my if my mom showed up, I don't want her.

Speaker 5 (13:24):
To know if I'm you know, playing great or playing bads.

Speaker 7 (13:27):
You know, as long as I feel like I'm having
fun out there and enjoying myself is you know, that's
the goal. So yeah, that's good. That's good that you
noticed that I was trying to have some fun out there.

Speaker 2 (13:37):
Yeah, you just look so chill and comfortable. But we
always talk about how the PGA tour isn't as glamorous
as everybody thinks it is. They think, you know, it's
like the NBA. You jump on a team playing, you
get there, you're in the team, hotel, everything's paid for.
Give us a behind the scenes detail that most of
our listeners would be surprised to hear about, you know,
tour life.

Speaker 7 (13:56):
Yeah, I mean, obviously it's it's not a terrible life,
but yeah, I mean, I mean we're out of pocket
for pretty much everything. I mean, we get courtesy cars
each week, but you know we're paying our travel, we're
paying our hotels.

Speaker 5 (14:08):
Obviously, we don't get any stipends for food.

Speaker 7 (14:11):
So if you don't eat it the course, uh, you
know you're paying for your food too. So yeah, you know,
we're definitely not jumping on airplanes and at least myself,
and you know, we're still flying commercially and you know
sometimes maybe it might slurge for a business class. But yeah, it's, uh,
it's different, but you know it's obviously it's also a

(14:33):
very cool lifestyle too.

Speaker 5 (14:35):
You know, it's it's not bad when you know you're
playing good.

Speaker 2 (14:39):
Our producer, that's a hint to you to get Kevin
a net Jets sponsorship.

Speaker 5 (14:44):
I'll take it.

Speaker 6 (14:46):
Well. Now, obviously everything can change with a big week
week this week, but we're winding down here, the final
couple of weeks. You're right on the doorstep of the
FedEx Cup playoffs. What's your schedule right now? For like
you're playing you know, every three m you're playing Windom.
I mean, it's what's yeah.

Speaker 7 (15:04):
Yeah, Yeah, I'm gonna play the rest the rest of
the way in. We got this week up here and
the ISCO at Louisville. Next week we're out in Tahoe
the Barracuda, and then we go three am up in
Minnesota and then the Window so and then hopefully I'm
to Memphis from there. But yeah, three more regular season,
you know, planning, I'm playing all of them. Yeah, I

(15:27):
mean even if something, you know, even if I was
to go on and have an unbelievable tournament again, I
probably would still play all.

Speaker 5 (15:34):
Of them just because I'll get bored at home. So yeah,
that's the plan. Play the rest awesome.

Speaker 2 (15:41):
Well, Kevin, I usually always and you know, at least
my portion of it with asking a Philly question, but
we've already asked you that the last two times that
you were here.

Speaker 3 (15:50):
Still country, right that I looked at the county. Didn't
look like you've got anything.

Speaker 2 (15:56):
Yeah, great golf course, yep, definitely. But let's do a
little like maybe fun rapid fire really quick, just like
a couple of questions and kind of see what you
say here. Okay, all right, who is the funniest guy
out there on tour? Right now? Okay? What's your guilty
pleasure when you're off the course?

Speaker 5 (16:15):
Oh? Good question.

Speaker 7 (16:20):
Probably I'm not a dessert guy, but I tend to
go get some ice cream on the.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
Road, chocolate or vanilla ice cream.

Speaker 5 (16:27):
I do the twist both, Oh the twist.

Speaker 2 (16:29):
Okay, best golf course you've ever played, not on tour.

Speaker 5 (16:33):
Vintage Club out in Palm Springs.

Speaker 2 (16:36):
One guy who we should be keeping our eyes on
for the next couple of tournaments, Kevin Roy. I love it. Perfect,
great way to end up. Thanks for your time, Devin.
As always, we love it. You're such an easy guy
to roop for.

Speaker 5 (16:53):
Thank you.

Speaker 4 (16:54):
Yeah, good luck, than I appreciate it.

Speaker 3 (16:57):
Thanks for having me, guys, and don't forget after after
that win you're back here.

Speaker 5 (17:03):
I'll be joining you guys with some beers and wine.

Speaker 4 (17:05):
Probably, best luck let's do it. Let's do it soon.
All right, Let's take a quick break and we will
be right back.

Speaker 3 (17:12):
All right, Welcome back to Swing and Thing. Thanks again
to our friend Kevin Roy knocking on the door. You know,
you know he's gonna get there soon. And a quick
thanks to our friends at buy my Balls t off
the top tier golf balls without top the top tier price.
Buy my balls dot com top quality recycled premium brands
for a fraction of the price. Go to buy my

(17:33):
balls dot com. That's balls with his z D John
Deere Classic, another playoff. Brian Campbell gets a second PGA
Tour win this year and short kings rejoice.

Speaker 4 (17:46):
All right, the shortest hitter on tour.

Speaker 3 (17:49):
One seventy one out of one seventy one and the
slowest ball speed.

Speaker 4 (17:52):
Harry mays, how do you feel about that?

Speaker 6 (17:54):
I think it's great. I mean, it just it just
goes to show you that different guys can win. Uh,
you know out here it's you know that that golf
course is not necessarily cater to bombers. But I mean
this guy, you know, hits it probably, I don't know.
He stretches out to two eighty maybe on the tee
and it doesn't matter. Like that's that's pretty cool. I

(18:15):
mean that that guy's got that guy's got game, like
he's his mental game is really strong too. I mean,
you know, you had a playoff both times to win
and now not the Grillos the longest hitter either, but
like you know, he wins it with a par on
eighteen and gets his second win, and you know that's

(18:36):
I mean, that's rarefied stuff to win two times in
the same year on the PG.

Speaker 3 (18:40):
Eight Roryer Ben Griffin, Yeah, abstract at Ryan.

Speaker 6 (18:44):
Fox, right and Ben Griffin's was a team event and
Ben is on fire, but he missed the cut this
week when I had him in one done, so well.

Speaker 2 (18:55):
That's a Harry effect, so he should.

Speaker 6 (18:57):
Harry, yeah, exactly exactly. Let's get him on so he
can yell at me.

Speaker 4 (19:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (19:03):
It's funny because he uh, he had a start here
is as an amateur, his first invite because he played
at the University of NOI. Yeah, yeah, and he played here,
so he wins the Mexico Openings talked about it took
him one hundred and eighty seven starts for his first
win and only thirteen for his second. Yeah, it's crazy,
pretty pretty nuts, pretty nuts.

Speaker 2 (19:24):
But also looking at Ben too and seeing like following
his career from you know, even Latin Tour to now,
he looks so much like confident out there. I seen
a clip on like golf dot com or something like that.
It's him and Ricky and they're walking down the fairway
and he's like throwing up peace signs and rick he's
just walking, but he just they just looked light and
like they're having fun, just comfortable out there.

Speaker 6 (19:45):
It's funny because I was watching him on Thursday afternoon
and I knew he had nothing. I knew it. I'm like,
I'm dead, he's tired.

Speaker 2 (19:53):
His Fyonce just came off for Bachelor atte party.

Speaker 6 (19:55):
Maybe he plays every week. He's like the new some
jam this guy.

Speaker 3 (20:00):
Aviators were fogging up on him a little bit.

Speaker 6 (20:02):
I love the sunglasses. I love the sunglasses.

Speaker 2 (20:04):
Yeah, well he has what floaters?

Speaker 6 (20:07):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (20:07):
A lot of guys, though, I'm like, have been wearing sunglasses.
I was out there this past week. I feel like
maybe half of them that sunglasses on.

Speaker 3 (20:16):
Yeah, yeah, you see it more and more, I guess
I think he saw. He's now twenty eight in FedEx
Cup standings, So that was a that was quite a
jump and it's funny too, like not listen, who am
I to say this? But like even now, I think
if you lined up twenty moderately active golf fans, they
couldn't pick Brian Campbell out of a.

Speaker 6 (20:36):
Line now probably right, No, you're right.

Speaker 3 (20:39):
And it's like he's he has a very unassuming personality,
but like he's very likable. I think his uh is
it his girlfriend? Like I think she was a golfer too.
I saw a little bit of that, but like the
great story, right, the injury like out of it for
a while, like you do you know, I know it's
you know, people sometimes the fields and they you know,
they don't want to see Scheffler and Rory battle only
every week. But some of the storylines we're getting on

(21:01):
these Sundays and these playoffs are just awesome right now.

Speaker 4 (21:04):
Fans like us, they're.

Speaker 6 (21:06):
Yeah, I think they're compelling. I really, I really know.
I root for it and I enjoyed it. You know,
we had Kevin roy On was a T three. Max
Homer had a huge week. I mean that that to me.
I bet him on Sunday morning to win because he was,
you know, kind of a decent number I thought for him,
and so I was rooting hard for him and he
ends up with the T five. That's a hell of

(21:27):
a week, I mean for him. He would be a
really good guy to get back in the mix on
a weekly basis, because he's a he's a very rootable guy.
He's sort of like a he's sort of like a
Fowler guy in a way where every everybody just seems
to like him, you know, and and you know, he's
very open and honest, and so you know what I mean,

(21:48):
Like he sort of pours his heart out when he's funny,
but but also when things are going bad, he tells you, like,
Golf doesn't like me very much. Right, His press conferences
are great.

Speaker 3 (21:58):
Did you see what he shared some of the posts
that people had sent him when he lost.

Speaker 6 (22:03):
Oh yeah, just like like the most vile.

Speaker 2 (22:07):
People are discussing. I have to go through a lot
of my clients and delete stuff, and I'm like, please
tell me these players didn't see it.

Speaker 3 (22:15):
Brandon lost ten dollars on a parlay.

Speaker 2 (22:17):
And exactly, and they're telling you to get suicide and
do that.

Speaker 6 (22:21):
It's like, I don't ever do that.

Speaker 2 (22:23):
I would hope not.

Speaker 6 (22:25):
People on this podcast. You think I think it, well,
of course I think.

Speaker 2 (22:29):
Yeah, absolutely, I think it. Thinking it right now Jesus Christmas.

Speaker 6 (22:35):
I'm getting ready to unload on Ludwig O. Bird on
Sunday or Friday when he misses the cut.

Speaker 3 (22:41):
How about our guy Coucher making an appearance.

Speaker 2 (22:46):
I actually actually saw him sitting in there. He was
he literally he went up, got nice coffee and sat
like right in the entrance to the clubhouse where like
you know, they sit to check your credentials. He's just
sitting there having a coffee, sitting in like their seat.
He didn't care.

Speaker 4 (22:58):
He was just five.

Speaker 3 (22:59):
It was Homer Coocher came out and Lucas lover.

Speaker 6 (23:02):
Yeah how about that?

Speaker 2 (23:04):
Yeah that was Lucas shot one over.

Speaker 6 (23:07):
On Thursday, right over and it didn't look like he
was going to make the cut, and then all of
a sudden he just went low.

Speaker 2 (23:14):
Yeah he's won there before, yeah maybe or something.

Speaker 6 (23:17):
Yeah, yeah, but yeah. Coocher's like company car is a
Brinks truck. I mean that guy, he just makes money,
cash his checks, you know. Yeah, yeah for him. But
Austin wrote, Austin wrote, yeah, he had a good week.
T eleven. Danny McCarthy, who was the favorite pretty much
by everybody and one in Dunpools never kind of got

(23:39):
in the mix, finished T eleven.

Speaker 2 (23:40):
Yeah, not a bad finish though, No, no.

Speaker 3 (23:44):
Good good finish good? Uh good, John Dear classic. Yep, Danielle,
let's spill a little tea.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
Let's do it well. You guys already talked about the
big d with the hockey fight. That was ridiculous, and
that's not I mean, it's funny, but it's also like
not it's not the first video I've seen of you know,
these wild ridiculous golf fights.

Speaker 3 (24:05):
It's just I can't believe you guys said that one
guy looked like Mike Powers. That's that's ridiculous, Harry.

Speaker 2 (24:10):
I know Harry's got Are we sure?

Speaker 6 (24:12):
Are we sure? Powers wasn't for the week like playing golf.

Speaker 3 (24:17):
But anyway, that guy who doesn't look like Mike Powers,
by the way, I mean at all, he had a
lot to do with his friend getting the crap beat
out of him multiple times because instead of saying, hey, guys,
hey get your boy and get him out of there,
come on, and also coming once you get thrown in
a lake. Yeah, you gotta be done. You can't get
back into the fight.

Speaker 4 (24:38):
You can't get back into.

Speaker 3 (24:39):
A fight wet. In my opinion, it's very hard to
fight when you're soaked to your underwear, right, you gotta
just say hey. But but that guy was annihilated and
it just happens. The guy, I think his name is
Nick Tarnowski, is like an enforcer in the NHL. I mean,
and just you're eating punches while guy's yelling bang bang

(25:00):
was I love these videos obviously, I hate you know,
I don't condone fighting that maybe have been in a
couple in my day, but former hockey.

Speaker 6 (25:09):
Guy it might have.

Speaker 3 (25:10):
It might be the first of all the cameraman. I mean,
he should win, He should win some sort of award.
I mean, he was locked in the entire time. He
stayed with it. He was commentating. When the guy gets
hearted the lak he goes you start, good start, buddy.

Speaker 6 (25:23):
Yeah, I mean.

Speaker 3 (25:25):
It was a ten out of ten video. Everything about it.

Speaker 6 (25:29):
Well, how about when they said, oh, I've got it
on the record. I've got it on the record. Like
the Canadian accent is just like overwhelming.

Speaker 3 (25:38):
I mean, I don't know if we'll see a better
golf course fight video in our lifetime.

Speaker 6 (25:42):
Yeah that's a slow play, man, I'll tell you. It
drives people nuts.

Speaker 2 (25:47):
You know, it's funny. I posted this video. We had
Vien over at O Palm the other day. She has
a little Scottie and I was just helping her make putts.
She made putts and then she just started walking with
a putter in her hand and I was like, oh
my god, was it on my TikTok? And I got
a comment the group in front of me. I thought
it was hilarious. I was like, hey, hey, this is
this is a practice facility. We know better. But I

(26:08):
thought it was pretty funny because I was like, imagine
that you have like a one year old, like the
group in front of you.

Speaker 3 (26:13):
But how does that guy who got the crappy at him,
how does he like go back out with his boys.

Speaker 6 (26:18):
I have no idea.

Speaker 4 (26:19):
You know, he got sleep tattooes. He's like being the aggressor.

Speaker 2 (26:23):
And I mean they got handled.

Speaker 3 (26:26):
I mean if that was one of us, we couldn't
be around our friends.

Speaker 2 (26:29):
It would be I mean, was such a philly show
right now talking The.

Speaker 6 (26:33):
One thing that he does have kind of in his corners.
The guy was a hockey player, so it's like, what
are you going to beat that guy? But it was
like I love the preamble too prior to it. You're
not a tough guy. You're not a tough guy, and you're.

Speaker 2 (26:49):
Like an Irish Canadian accent.

Speaker 6 (26:51):
It's hilarious. That's that's what the guy sounded like.

Speaker 3 (26:55):
Everything about it. I can't stop watching. It was the
second time he threw him, wasn't It was like a
sack of potato, like it was a It was a
wild throw. But oh my god, thank you, thank you.
I mean that is thank you for social media.

Speaker 6 (27:08):
Sometimes they were smashing.

Speaker 4 (27:11):
I could even get the tea in the ground.

Speaker 3 (27:13):
Yeah now, And that's what he's saying too, like if
I wasn't drunk, I could have held my own right
right right right, all right, I could talk about it
all night.

Speaker 4 (27:22):
Let's go.

Speaker 2 (27:23):
Yeah, we kept my chief shirt from Mike.

Speaker 6 (27:26):
Let's not have a reducts at the at the outing.
Okay in October.

Speaker 3 (27:30):
No, I will not be in the lake at the
Legacy Club at all.

Speaker 6 (27:32):
I posted it today or power to look alike he
will be there.

Speaker 4 (27:36):
Well, he powers did have a fall last outing.

Speaker 3 (27:39):
Remember I remember that, so I remember that he's he's suspect.

Speaker 4 (27:44):
Yeah, I can'tnot.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
Moving on, We're gonna go to a totally different opposite topic.
Let's talk about the women. Justin Ray, I always loved
pulling up his tweets Nelly quarter through ten LPGA starts,
just check this out. Twenty twenty four, she had six
wins with a two point three seven strokes game total
per round and a seventy scoring average. Twenty twenty five,

(28:07):
zero wins. She has a two point four to seven
strokes game total per average or part of me per
round and a sixty nine point six scoring average, So
a better scoring average with zero wins. Yeah, and just
can't put anything together. Just showing the talent that's coming out.
It's getting better and better. And maybe she's just you No,
I don't know. I don't know what's going on, Harry.

(28:28):
You're more of our LPGA liaison, No.

Speaker 1 (28:31):
I know.

Speaker 6 (28:31):
I mean she's been in the mix, you know, in
these big tournaments. She's you know, she's kind of on
the periphery, but never not really it's you know, following
up last year, you know it was tough.

Speaker 4 (28:41):
I mean that was got a career, got a year.

Speaker 6 (28:43):
Yeah, yeah, but she is still the best player in
the world. And they've got a major this week now
in France at the A Mundi Evian Champions with Ayaka
food Away defending, so we'll see what happens. It's kind
of a crazy golf course and built like on the
side of a out and right over.

Speaker 4 (29:03):
It's really crazy gorgeous.

Speaker 6 (29:04):
Yeah it is. I'm not I'm not big on her
chances to win this week, but you know, it just
goes to show you that that tour is deep, oh yeah,
really deep with a lot of talent.

Speaker 2 (29:15):
Well, the caption was, golf remains a mystery, even for
the best in the world. Talking about not the best
in the world, We're going to go over to the
PGA Tour America's poor guy going through the yips is
the worst. I would not wish it on anybody. Scott
Stevens is one hand chipping it right now because.

Speaker 6 (29:37):
I've done that.

Speaker 2 (29:38):
Oh yeah, So he's putting the other hand behind the
back and just swinging at it. He said, I had
so much anxiety chipping, and he's like, golf is not
fun anymore because I was so worried about having to chip,
And now he's just kind of doing that motion. Yep,
to sell chunk it late it.

Speaker 6 (29:54):
Hate to see it.

Speaker 4 (29:55):
We just hate to see it.

Speaker 2 (29:56):
Yeah, and let's end the tea with some Philly Mike
trouton tiger Woods New Golf Club releases AI renderings of
the property. This place looks sweet. It's given that. It's
given grove vibes for me, just kind of the aesthetic
of it and the layout of it. It looks really
really sweet.

Speaker 3 (30:14):
I'm going to have someone on soon from there in
the next couple of weeks.

Speaker 2 (30:17):
That'd be awesome. These AI renderings, though, they get scary.
They're just so realistic looking. You're like, wait, is this
is this not real? It's it's crazy, But yeah, the
first look at Trout National looks pretty promising.

Speaker 3 (30:29):
That guy that got beat up, should you say it
was Ai?

Speaker 2 (30:31):
Yeah, that wasn't me. Yeah see that that that wasn't
That wasn't powers in that video either, that was his.

Speaker 4 (30:36):
That was an Yeah.

Speaker 2 (30:39):
Yeah, we're just getting we love you all right.

Speaker 4 (30:44):
Good stuff, good stuff.

Speaker 3 (30:46):
And of course that was brought to us by where

(31:09):

sunsafe all year long.

Speaker 4 (31:14):
I had some wear.

Speaker 3 (31:15):
SPF on when I just dismantled our friend Brian Dowell
at Medford Village last week.

Speaker 4 (31:22):
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (31:23):
I mean, I don't know if he felt bad for
me and just let me just you know, dominate him
on the golf course the whole day. But the things.

Speaker 4 (31:30):
Were working out there for me.

Speaker 3 (31:31):
The new irons were working beautiful. Harry the seven would
I saw that video, hit the video, I hid it.
I don't know if I posted the seven would one.
I posted a driver one, but I was like one
ninety eight out middle of the fairway and hit it
to like five feet. Yeah, I mean, just yeah, I

(31:52):
mean it's finally finally getting getting used to like how.

Speaker 4 (31:56):
To use that club. And it was funny.

Speaker 3 (31:58):
You're in the green light, green light, green light, dying
to get back out there.

Speaker 6 (32:02):
You can't have the ball too far forward.

Speaker 3 (32:04):
When you're hitting that club, it's very true and and
like the easier you swing that thing, it's yeah, you
did not.

Speaker 6 (32:11):
Have to stay tall. You gotta stay tall. Yeah, just
clip it, yep, sure for you. Yeah, I played pretty
well on was it Saturday? I believe you actually hit
a par five and two with a driver three wood.
I made a sand save out of number the whole

(32:31):
number two. My nemesis hit it in the right bunker
with a really easy seven iron and then hit the
bunker shot to a foot. They gave me the putt
for a par.

Speaker 2 (32:40):
Give me.

Speaker 6 (32:41):
So I made a par on eight, which is the
other nemesis hole from me on the front, shot forty
on the front, which is my second best score ever
at the nineteen twelve club.

Speaker 4 (32:52):
On the front nine trend.

Speaker 6 (32:54):
So had a little bad luck and some wind that
got in my way on the back, but a good
around and it's getting better.

Speaker 3 (33:01):
So yeah, I'm Pebble Beach is on the horizon for me,
you know, all.

Speaker 6 (33:07):
Right, I'm checking. I'll see myself out.

Speaker 3 (33:12):
But I'm not going to uh to Scotland, though I
know I.

Speaker 2 (33:15):
Almost was like I'm sitting here with a sick, baby,
I don't feel good. I'm like, do they need me
to go to Scotland?

Speaker 3 (33:21):
I forget our friends at all access there is a
link in our bio.

Speaker 4 (33:26):
These guys are the best.

Speaker 3 (33:27):
That's who it was going next week, and uh yeah,
they have a ton of people going over there, playing
the old course, going to the Open Championship.

Speaker 4 (33:34):
I mean, those are the kind of experiences they put together.

Speaker 3 (33:35):
So don't forget about our friends over there, because they
are the best at that for sure.

Speaker 6 (33:41):
Very good.

Speaker 4 (33:41):
Yeah yeah, uh. And our golf outing all right, where
sign ups are getting getting pretty steady. A lot of
our main sponsors are back.

Speaker 3 (33:49):
Tito's of course, which is one of the one of
the big ones for us, is back Exfinity Live lev Lane.
We're gonna have some great contests. Gearhards of course, right,
We're gonna be chipping into are once again. We're going
to incorporate Buy my Balls and Wear SPF and all
of our new sponsors.

Speaker 4 (34:05):
So do not wait.

Speaker 3 (34:07):
Right, it is going to sell out quickly, So it's gonna.

Speaker 2 (34:11):
Be russ Hartung listened up. I don't want another week
of trying to get in there.

Speaker 3 (34:16):
Yeah, I mean, we're not gonna be dying to make
sure Russ gets in there. Right, the guy wins all
the stuff. I'm not sending a reminder this year. And
he's in there, he's out, you know.

Speaker 2 (34:26):
What I'm saying, got married like two weeks ago.

Speaker 3 (34:29):
Oh man, that's right.

Speaker 6 (34:30):
Oh and by the way, Powers apparently had a birdie
at the Princeton Country Club. You forgot to mention that movie.

Speaker 2 (34:36):
But can we tell our own producer to put in
the like clapping.

Speaker 6 (34:41):
Yeah, he's getting ripped all day, so he wanted to
put it out there that he made a birdie at Princeton.

Speaker 3 (34:46):
So yeah, yeah, and he had the medaglasses on too,
so there's proof.

Speaker 6 (34:51):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 2 (34:52):
I actually was talking to him about that because I
was like, wait, do I get these? Do I not?
So I ordered them set them to Eleanor because I
was like, all right, I'm gonna wear them out in
the course, like I'll get some awesome content. I order
them like the Wednesday before we go out to Illinois
and they're supposed to be there on I think Tuesday.
I'm sending him to a lenscrafter. I'm like, okay, that'll

(35:13):
be fine. They didn't arrive till this past Monday, so
then they I had to get them to now send
them down here to my house, so they should be
here by Friday. But I asked Powers. I was like, hey,
let me know about these, because he had them at
the Truest. I didn't get to see him in action,
but very excited to check them out.

Speaker 4 (35:29):
Yeah, it's awesome, it really is.

Speaker 2 (35:31):
It'd be sweet for content for my golf clients.

Speaker 4 (35:33):
Oh yeah, yeah, I don't know. I can't.

Speaker 3 (35:35):
I'm surprised more people don't do that, like actually playing
golf and hitting shots with it.

Speaker 2 (35:40):
I think it's just kind of news still that they're
not understanding. I know I should have ordered more of
a masculine pair. I got kind of like the moreoty ones,
and I was talking to Jason the other day. I'm like,
I'm gonna have you put them on, and I'm like, oh,
this is gonna look funny, but you won't be able
to see him wearing right.

Speaker 4 (35:55):
Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 6 (35:56):
I'm not giving my vision to Zuckerberg. I'm sorry you're
one of those. Yes I am.

Speaker 2 (36:03):
Do you not get your face scanned for your phone?

Speaker 6 (36:06):
I don't know. Probably, but I'm not buying. I'm not
buying metaglasses. I'll just tell you that right now.

Speaker 2 (36:12):
Do you get clear at the airport?

Speaker 6 (36:14):
What do you mean?

Speaker 4 (36:14):
Probably not? No, it's not, it's not.

Speaker 3 (36:16):
It's not as big the clear and like instead of
TSA PreCheck, you can get clear.

Speaker 6 (36:20):
It's like I have the TSA pre check.

Speaker 4 (36:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (36:23):
Clear is great if you're like getting out of Orlando,
especially a lot.

Speaker 2 (36:26):
But anywhere or internationally, yeah.

Speaker 4 (36:29):
Yeah, or if you're going.

Speaker 3 (36:32):
I'm not going to say across the pond, right yeah,
I'm not going to say that, right, No, not doing that.
But it is the PGA Tour Genesis Scottish Open. Uh,
this is the alliance with the DP World Tour. I
think this is the fourth year as an official PGA
Tour event, if I'm not mistaken.

Speaker 6 (36:49):
I think so.

Speaker 3 (36:50):
You get the top seventy five from each tour, plus
a couple of exemptions. You have i think three spots
of the Open Championship next week, which is always cool
when guys are able to get in and you're thinking
you might be there for one week and now you're
there for two weeks.

Speaker 4 (37:04):
That's that's pretty cool.

Speaker 3 (37:07):
Scotty skipped this last year, but he is.

Speaker 4 (37:09):
He is playing.

Speaker 3 (37:10):
It's the cream of the crop for sure playing in
this event. So and the course is the Renaissance Club, right, Harry.

Speaker 6 (37:18):
Well, yeah, this is the week where Renaissance becomes Renaissance.

Speaker 4 (37:22):
That's right, that's right.

Speaker 3 (37:23):
Yeah, yeah, let's talk about the course, of course, tell
us about the Renaissance.

Speaker 6 (37:28):
It's the seventh time at the Renaissance Course. It's this
place has been this tournament has been at Loch lomand
Castle Stewart, some really famous great golf courses. But this
place is Tom Doak design. Patrick Harrington was actually a
consultant on this. They did this back in two thousand
and eight. And you're gonna hear the term Firth of

(37:51):
Fourth a lot because that's the body of water that's
right off of the thirteenth fairway. It's right in between
Field and North Berwick. That's where the golf course is situated.
This is like real prime real estate. Par seventy seven
and eighty two yards. It's a lot like it's laid

(38:11):
out like nineteen twelve, three par fives, three, ten and sixteen,
and then five par threes six, nine, twelve, fourteen and seventeen.
The one behind me in the screen, I believe is
the twelfth, and the fifth hole is a driveable par four.
The fairways and greens are overseateed cocuya grass and the

(38:31):
rough is blue grass with fescue. The par three twelfth
is just a classic hole. They got this sort of
ancient stone wall that sort of forms or you know,
borders the green. The par four thirteenth, which is as
close as they get to the Firth of Fourth, then
you come back the other way. The par three fourteenth

(38:52):
with the stone wall two is near the coast. The
fifteenth is a is a great par four up the hill.
Par five sixteenth long par four or part three seventeenth,
and the par four eighteenth is that one where we
saw Rory and McIntyre going at it a couple of
years ago, where Rory just hit an unbelievable iron shot

(39:15):
to just a couple of feet and ended up winning
the tournament. McIntyre's won there as well. Eighty five sand bunkers.
You don't want to be in any of them in
the fair way, that'll just ruin your hole. But there's
the greens are pretty big. They're like seven thousand square feet.
But it's kind of lynxy, but yet it's not Lynxy.
It's sort of like a Lynxy with Parkland style. But

(39:40):
Tom dok I played one of his golf courses down
at Stream song Man. I really enjoyed it, so I
probably enjoy playing this place too. I love this tournament
sort of gets you prepped for the Open Championship.

Speaker 4 (39:51):
You they're saying weather, not really, it's gonna be nice.

Speaker 3 (39:54):
Yeah, yeah, okay, interesting.

Speaker 1 (39:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (39:57):
You had Robert McIntyre last year year before.

Speaker 3 (40:01):
Xander minmou Lee and Aaron Raye are the past couple
winners here. You know, when you talk about seeing the
line with our friends at bet.

Speaker 1 (40:11):

Speaker 3 (41:34):
Talked about McIntyre pretty short number two thousand, but he's
got a win and he's got a second place here
before So obviously plays very well here Rory another super
short number, not a shortest as Schefflery four hundred, but
a win here at T four in twenty four Matt
Fitzpatrick getting a lot of love because he has a

(41:54):
two here in a T six at thirty five hundred.

Speaker 4 (41:58):
Ryan Fox.

Speaker 3 (41:59):
I actually like Ryan Fox at that four thousand number,
playing really well. What do you think about Mori Kawa
with was it Billy Foster on the bag right? To
bring some European vibes to the guy at that twenty
five hundred number.

Speaker 6 (42:11):
I tell you, man, he's going through a roster at caddies,
crazy roster at caddies in different putters.

Speaker 3 (42:18):
You know, he's still chipping with both hands though, So
yeah he is, Yeah, he's all right, yeah.

Speaker 4 (42:25):
Yeah, yeah. What are you seeing here?

Speaker 6 (42:27):
Hair Well McIntyre obviously is a big play because of
his success here finishing what second and winning it.

Speaker 4 (42:34):
Yep.

Speaker 6 (42:35):
You know, I try to stay off of that because
I know everybody's gonna take him in one and done.
Anybody who hasn't is probably going to take him. I'm
gonna go top twenty at a plus one thirty and
I'll take him over JT in a matchup and minus
one twenty five Adam Scott I think was a good
play here too in a top twenty at plus one ninety.
You mentioned Fitzpatrick top twenty plus one sixty. Foxy is

(42:58):
plus two twenty five in a top twenty. I don't
understand why That number is so good because if you
look around, everybody loves them, you know, and not only
loves him to be in a top twenty. I love
them win the damn thing. So and I'm gonna take
him over Berger in minus one in a matchup at
minus one fifteen. That's stealing. Burns is another guy that

(43:19):
a lot of people love, and I think he probably
would play really well here plus three point thirty in
a top ten. But I'm going with Ludwig Oberg as
my one and done. For some reason, I think he's
he's due for a bust out week and it won't
be next week at the Open Championship. So I'm taking
Ludwig and a top ten. He's plus two seventy.

Speaker 4 (43:41):
Five Yukay, yeah, okay, okay.

Speaker 3 (43:44):
How about Tommy Fleetwood he can get his win here.

Speaker 6 (43:46):
Oh, everybody loves him too. Finally he's gonna get that win.
I used him already and one and done. But yeah,
a lot of people like him, you know, some sometimes
I think a lot of these guys that have to
pick up put out picks every week, Yeah, they root
for certain guys and everybody, sure, if it's not a
one and done, you can use Tommy several times a
year and eventually once he gets a win, you might be.

Speaker 3 (44:08):
Right, yeah, right, right, yeah, this is the place to
use him though, Yeah, for sure, for sure.

Speaker 6 (44:13):
So but Live Golf is in Spain at Valderrama. Getting there.
You know, they're guys tuned up for the Open Championship.
Sergio plays really well there. He's plus two seventy five
in a top five. Give me that.

Speaker 3 (44:28):
Yehow yeah, that's a that's a no brainer right there.

Speaker 6 (44:31):
And the American Century, I believe, is this week.

Speaker 4 (44:34):
It is.

Speaker 6 (44:34):
It is in Tahoe. Marty Fish and Steph Curry are
the co favorites at four to one. I'll take Steph
Curry and then of course the uh the Isco Kevin
Roy plus eighteen hundred to win it. Let's go, wow,
let's go, let's do this.

Speaker 3 (44:52):
Philly Ties in the American Century, you have Jason Kelce,
Charles Barkley, and then from your Philadelphia Phillies the best
player of all time. Listen up, Mike Powers, Chase Utley,
Shane Victorino, Jimmy Rollins and Jason Worth. All those guys
are in the field over there. This would be this
would have been a good year to go wow.

Speaker 6 (45:13):
Yeah, and then of course the women have that major
Lydia Coe plus one ninety in the top ten. That
seems like easy money. And Celine Bautier she's French. I
think she's won there before. Plus two thirty in a
top ten. Give me her.

Speaker 4 (45:27):
I like it.

Speaker 3 (45:28):
I like it all right. Apparently a sniper got Danielle,
so we will close out the show without her, but
thank her for joining us and for lining up the
great Kevin Roy.

Speaker 4 (45:38):
We'll be rooting for Kevin Man.

Speaker 3 (45:39):
He's such a likable guy and we appreciate him coming
back on. Can't wait for appearance number four after a
w on the PGA tour. That's what's gonna happen.

Speaker 4 (45:47):
Harry Nice. All right, thanks for listening. Fun show. We'll
be back next week.

Speaker 1 (45:51):
Yeah, but listen, swing it and dang it.
