Speaker 2 (00:25):
Just got to get out there and swing and ding it.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
Yeah, you know, just guess it's going to go out
there and try to swing it and ding it.
Speaker 3 (00:33):
All right, Welcome into swing it and ding It and
iHeartMedia podcast. This is Moose along with Mays and Matthews
and we're sponsored by Buy My Balls, Bet Parks and
where SPF. You'll hear more about all of those wonderful
sponsors throughout the program. Three m Open Kurt Kittiyama beat
Sam Stevens by one for second PGA Tour victory. Arnold
(00:56):
Palmer Invitational was his first sixty five on Sunday, but
a career best and tournament record tying sixty on Saturday
and on Sunday. I think how he bradied six of
the first nine holes to start out. I mean, that's
that's how you opened the door to a victory.
Speaker 4 (01:11):
Yeah, he shot an opening nine of twenty nine Moose
and Danielle on Sunday, and that was after shooting sixty
on Saturday.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
So he's got his two wins.
Speaker 4 (01:20):
You mentioned the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bayhill, and now
he's won three M which is another Arnold Palmer designed
so it's pretty obvious that he likes Arney as his designer.
And he had his brother daniel on the on the bag,
which was pretty cool to see win number two. And
you mentioned Sam Stevens, who was great all week two
(01:41):
but he won by one shot with a par on
eighteen after a three putt bogie on seventeen. That made
things a little bit more interesting. So I didn't watch
a whole lot of this because I was outside, you know,
trying to play golf and this this tournament, you know,
kind of was one of those ones where after a
major you're just like, you know, it's like an exhale,
(02:02):
you know, the fields a little bit light and not right, yeah, right,
and but really cool.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
I like seeing these guys. I like Kitty Yama, and I.
Speaker 4 (02:10):
Like Kittyama since following him around with Brandon and Danielle
at the Wells FOT you were in the same group
with him, and I met his girlfriend and they met
at U n l V where he played golf, and
I think she plays golf as well. And uh uh
Barjean was the other guy in the threesome, the guy
in France that played at TCU. So I kind of
(02:33):
became a fan of Kurt Kitty. I'm a little small
guy who just pounds it and he's fun to watch.
And now he's got win number two. I love seeing
the validation of the first win.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
Uh, you know for these guys. So he's a fun
guy to watch and I think he's in the field
again this week.
Speaker 3 (02:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (02:48):
Yeah, Harry, that was also when you drafted.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
Me, right, that that was that was the whole concept down.
Speaker 5 (02:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
I think he moved from because he thought we're gonna
talk about obviously moving up and trying to get in
a better position for the playoffs and getting your your
full status. But he went from one ten to fifty
three with that win.
Speaker 5 (03:07):
Yeah, some of the top seventy.
Speaker 3 (03:10):
Every right changed everything. Yeah, I mean he goes from
gets inside the top one hundred, gets in inside the
top seventy. So I mean, yeah, I mean we know
how big that is for some guys. This week, but
it's great to get it done the week prior. So yeah,
we talked about Stevens had Lipski, Matt Lallace. Right, he's
been playing pretty good golf. I think he's climbing up
(03:32):
to your European Ryder Cup standings with his degree, and
our boy Jake Knapp continues to flash and show that
there's you know, there's there's more in there. Curious to
see if he if he can can continue. I mean,
he's on he's on the board this week, yep, in
a pretty high spot. You know, somebody like that, you
(03:52):
would you know, he's he's going after it in a
week like this, so it's gonna be cool to see that.
But yeah, Kirk Kidiyama, he is. He is fun to watch,
you know, flat brim and pound ball. Not a real
big dude, right yeah.
Speaker 4 (04:06):
Yeah yeah, and his brother on the bag, which was
pretty a pretty cool thing.
Speaker 3 (04:12):
I think they say it was only like the second
time he's been on all year two, right, yeah, because
he just does like a fill in.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
But Bro might have to uh, he might have to
make arrangements. Yeah, yeah, so very cool.
Speaker 4 (04:24):
And then of course, uh, you know, I know we're
we're talking on PGA Tour. But before they had that,
the Scottish Open for the women last week and the
newly turned pro Lottie Woade goes out and wins the
damn thing and took took down Nelly Korda in the
whole field and won it in her first UH tournament
as a professional. That's pretty pretty impressive stuff. And they've
(04:48):
got a major championship going on right now, uh, the
Women's Open over in Whales.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
So that was pretty cool from last week. I actually
watched more of that than I did the three M and.
Speaker 3 (04:56):
They're they're playing in some in some weather already, right.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
I would imagine.
Speaker 3 (05:00):
So yeah in Wales, social on social media, good stuff.
As we wrap up second to the last tournament this week.
To win the championship is the last tournament of the year.
Speaker 6 (05:12):
Yeah, wow, last time we'll see Ian too, right, Baker Finch, Oh, Harry, It's.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
Okay, it isn't so I'm starting a recovery group.
Speaker 5 (05:21):
I'm here for you.
Speaker 4 (05:23):
Therapy after this whole weekend ends, because I'm going to
miss I b F and h telling me that it
all depends on the lie.
Speaker 2 (05:30):
Dottie.
Speaker 4 (05:31):
I mean, you know what kind of insight that you know,
how much insight can you give?
Speaker 2 (05:36):
I mean, my god.
Speaker 6 (05:41):
I wonder if they weren't going to renew his contract though,
because somebody is like why hang why hang it up now?
And he didn't say like, hey, I was ready, He's like, well,
contract came to an end, and I just kind of
so I was wondering, like, you.
Speaker 4 (05:52):
Know, yeah, I don't know, but it smells like a
possible non renewal.
Speaker 5 (05:56):
I think that's kind of when he was asked the
way he was kind of saying.
Speaker 2 (05:59):
It, I was like, got it, yeah, and that happens.
Speaker 4 (06:02):
I mean, NBC has made a lot of changes to
their lineup over the last couple of years, and I
think their lineup is superior to CBS's by far now
and years ago, I wouldn't have said that, but CBS
needs to make a couple of moves.
Speaker 6 (06:17):
Yeah, I think's been doing incredible and you have to
you have to adapt right now with everything that's going on.
Speaker 5 (06:22):
And it's like we have all these different people golf.
It's so popular. You can't just it's not like.
Speaker 3 (06:27):
Where we just have to knock everybody be quiet, airing.
Speaker 6 (06:29):
Right, Like we need excitement, we need we don't need
music in shorts.
Speaker 5 (06:35):
We just need we need some good you know commentating.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (06:39):
Now, now if they follow the pattern that they and Moose,
you can speak to this because you're you're an executive
in a broadcasting entity. CBS will hire a guy that
is won a major and has an accent because that's
what they do. That's pretty much you know since Ken
Venturi uh part ways and retired a.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
Long time ago. He didn't have the accent.
Speaker 4 (07:03):
He had a major championship, but they love guys with
accents and major trophies.
Speaker 2 (07:07):
And Ian Baker Finch and he's two wins on tour
had won at a major championship.
Speaker 3 (07:13):
Wow yeah, wow, wow wow talk about you know, they
talked about the lady side. But uh Joaque Neeman yes,
oh yeah, wins again on Live. He has won five
of the eleven Live individual titles in twenty twenty five.
Speaker 4 (07:28):
Yeah, I think it's his seventh as since he went
over to Live overall, but.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
Yeah, five this year. He's like, mister Live is good.
Speaker 1 (07:36):
But you know, I was sad when he first went
over because you know, yeah, he's one of the guys
i'd want back, like he's he's a guy I like
to watch, but it's interesting how how he has kind
of dominated this tour this year.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
He still doesn't play well in the majors.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
I know. Yeah, you know, everyone was watching him, you know,
in the Masters and seeing what he would do and
they love jumping all over and when he was yeah,
well in the majors, right, you know, the guy definitely
has talent. So yeah, but it's gonna be curious to
see what happens there. We've talked about, you know, talking
about contracts being up in TV they're going to be
coming up and Live too, and I think all eyes
(08:12):
are on, you know, that that tour and what's going
to happen.
Speaker 4 (08:16):
I saw something on x the other day from an
account that I didn't recognize. I looked at the account.
It had, you know, a decent amount of followers on it.
Speaker 2 (08:25):
You know. It wasn't like a.
Speaker 4 (08:26):
Bot or anything, and it was a golf account, but
I'd never heard of it before. But the tweet was
something to the effect that twenty twenty six Live is
going to be signing more big names from the PGA Tour.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
Now I don't I don't know if I buy it,
but it's out there.
Speaker 5 (08:42):
So interesting yeah, somebody knowing something.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
Maybe hopefully not, but maybe.
Speaker 5 (08:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (08:49):
I need to do a big dive into before the
next show kind of live and the standings and where
that is, because it's kind of the same as a
PGA tour obviously, like they you know, like we saw
I don't know what Chase Keepka's doing now, pretty sure
he fell out and the guys fell out, Like I
think he's actually been out for a season or two.
But I want to look and see, like if there's
any big names that are possibly you know, in the
(09:10):
danger line of losing status on lip yeah.
Speaker 4 (09:13):
And then you know, then where do they go, Like
if you're an older guy and you lose status on
Live like Pat Perez for instance, he lost his status
and then they picked him up on the broadcast team,
so they I don't know if they were still paying
him for a while and he just wasn't playing anymore
and they said, like we gave.
Speaker 5 (09:29):
You that upfront money, get on the TV right right.
Speaker 2 (09:32):
Right, So I don't know.
Speaker 6 (09:34):
It's kind of weird, it is, And what Drew was
saying the other episode, like some of them that upfront
money was for X amount of time and then they
didn't get prize money and everything else, which we kind
of saw with the PGA Tour that rookie season where
they got that five hundred k and people were like, wow,
they're getting five hundred K bonus and you're like, no,
that's an advance and then every time you win that
is taken back and you had to pay taxes on.
Speaker 4 (09:57):
They divide their standings up in to three zones, apparently,
the lock zone, which means you're locked in for the
next year, the open zone, which means you're kind of
in limbo, and then there's the drop zone.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
And I'll tell you who's a name here in the
drop zone.
Speaker 4 (10:14):
Ian Poulter, Mito Pereira remember him almost won the PGA
a few years ago. And let me see how Ali
Schneider Jans remember him.
Speaker 5 (10:24):
He was going him in the quarterfinals in the us M.
Speaker 2 (10:27):
Yeah, they were.
Speaker 4 (10:27):
They were thinking he was gonna set the world on
fire a few years ago.
Speaker 1 (10:31):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (10:31):
John Catlan, who's been he's been over there for a
couple of years.
Speaker 3 (10:36):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
Anthony Kim is in the drop zone.
Speaker 1 (10:40):
He's been kind of in the bottom of the standings
all since he came over.
Speaker 6 (10:47):
I was wondering and like you said, what are they
gonna do like a live champion store for some of
these guys.
Speaker 4 (10:52):
Well, now I'm thinking Ian Poulter has an accent and
a great Ryder Cup record.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
No major would see bs hire him.
Speaker 5 (11:02):
Oh M know something?
Speaker 2 (11:06):
Eh, I mean he's got a personality. Yeah, no question
about it. Yeah, that'd be an interesting interview.
Speaker 5 (11:13):
I would be yes, you fly on though, all in
that room.
Speaker 3 (11:17):
Yeah, all right, Well this is kind of t ish,
so let's keep spilling tea.
Speaker 5 (11:22):
Yeah, let's oh, let's get into some tea. All right. Well,
Charlie Woods, we always got to talk about any time.
Speaker 6 (11:28):
I feel like if Tiger Woods, Charlie Woods, we just
got to talk about any woods.
Speaker 5 (11:32):
Right.
Speaker 6 (11:33):
But after a tough week missing the cut at the
US Junior Amateur, Charlie.
Speaker 5 (11:36):
Woods bounce back got a big time.
Speaker 6 (11:38):
Round two at the Junior PGA Championship for a six
hundred sixty six. Nine birdies got him the seven under
total heading into fifth place heading into round three. So
people are going crazy, you know, nine birdies, Oh my god,
losing their mind.
Speaker 5 (11:54):
And I'm not gonna lie. It's fun to watch, like
I'm subscribed. I want to see. I would watch like
it's Tiger's offspring. Give me some more, you know.
Speaker 2 (12:03):
Yeah, the curiosity factor is is strong. It's real, it
really is.
Speaker 5 (12:09):
All right, we got to talk about Happy Gilmour too.
I watched it. Did you guys watch it?
Speaker 3 (12:14):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (12:15):
Oh, Harry Golf. Twitter is already losing its mind.
Speaker 6 (12:18):
So I won't spill anything for Harry since he hasn't
watched it or anybody else watching, but I will.
Speaker 5 (12:24):
Say some cool things.
Speaker 6 (12:26):
Did you guys know Hunter Mayhem was Adam Sandler's swing double.
Speaker 3 (12:29):
I did see that.
Speaker 5 (12:30):
Yeah, you have to go and look.
Speaker 6 (12:33):
Hunter posted like him getting hair and makeup, getting the
beard done and everything else. So yeah, when I was
I saw it probably halfway through the movie on social
and then when we were watching it, I was trying
to like figure out, like, wait, that was that Adam
or was that Hunter? So I thought that was pretty
cool because if Hunter would have put that out, I
would just have assumed it was Adam Sandler, like hitting
the ball right now?
Speaker 1 (12:54):
You watched it on the flight moose right, I did
on the way out or the way back.
Speaker 2 (12:57):
On the way out, Okay.
Speaker 3 (12:59):
Would you think listen? I thought I had a couple
of big laughs. I know, it's getting you know, it's
getting some bashing, bashing because you know some of the
storylines and stuff, but like, what did you think? You know?
Speaker 6 (13:12):
Well, yeah, you know, and the sequel is never as
good as like, you know, the origid all the originals
always like you can't touch it.
Speaker 5 (13:18):
But yeah, I was laughing Godfather exactly. But I was laughing.
I thought it was funny. I was entertained.
Speaker 6 (13:27):
I was honored that they you know, included me in
the movie by you know, naming their daughter Vienna.
Speaker 5 (13:33):
Also, I was like, oh, well that right.
Speaker 6 (13:38):
I was like, wait what, but yeah, thank you Netflix
for you know, giving me a little nod there.
Speaker 5 (13:45):
But no, I thought it was cool.
Speaker 6 (13:46):
I'm the same like I talked to some friends over
the week and they're like, well, it wasn't as good.
Speaker 5 (13:50):
It was dumb.
Speaker 6 (13:51):
And I'm like, if you're if you don't have that
high expectations and you watch it, it's funny.
Speaker 5 (13:55):
It's entertaining.
Speaker 6 (13:56):
They kind of make fun of Live in a sense,
but which I was surprised because Brooks, you know, and
Bryson were on that Foe Live like they weren't on
the Live League.
Speaker 5 (14:04):
They were on the you know, PGA Tour League.
Speaker 6 (14:07):
But they had a lot of cool cameo I was like,
that was entertaining, like seeing Nelly as the lawyer and
just seeing the Brandham celebs pop up.
Speaker 5 (14:14):
So I thought it was cool.
Speaker 1 (14:15):
Well, I will have watched it by the next episode
that you can be assured of that.
Speaker 2 (14:20):
But I was over at the.
Speaker 5 (14:21):
Penn Club set audition. Harry, you could have been in that.
Speaker 4 (14:26):
The line was six blocks long as soon as I
drove by him, like you.
Speaker 5 (14:30):
Would have been a shoeing though that ain't happening.
Speaker 4 (14:32):
But I saw a guy, a buddy of mine from
nineteen twelve over at Penn Club yesterday, Steve Latos. He
actually works for GAP and he had seen it, and
I said, what do you think? And he loved it,
you know, like he said, you know, my girlfriend doesn't
even really like golf, and she loved it. Like I
was lasting, I said, well, of all the cameos, who
was the best PGA Tour player.
Speaker 2 (14:52):
In the cameo role in your opinion? And he said
Scottie Scheffler.
Speaker 5 (14:57):
Oh yeah, well yeah, because the whole.
Speaker 4 (15:00):
Don't don't don't don't see I knew you were going
to do that. That's why I knew, but he said, Scottie,
he said, I'm not going to blow it for you,
but that was that's mine.
Speaker 2 (15:11):
Do you guys?
Speaker 5 (15:12):
You know what I think was the worst?
Speaker 6 (15:13):
Well, he was funny, but actually, in terms of acting,
I thought Nelly was convincing, like at first because I
was like, oh, there's Nelly, And literally two minutes later,
Brandon's like, is that Nellie Corna?
Speaker 5 (15:23):
I'm like, are we in the same room here?
Speaker 6 (15:25):
I'm like, I just said that, but he didn't even
notice really like and she was.
Speaker 5 (15:29):
She was good.
Speaker 6 (15:31):
Jack was He was given a line and you could
tell he was like, Okay, this is what I'm doing,
you know, Like it was like he's not an actor.
Speaker 5 (15:44):
How are you going to watch this? Because I want
to keep just saying, like I was just quoted, We're.
Speaker 4 (15:48):
Gonna have a whole happy Gilmore review next episode.
Speaker 5 (15:52):
Yeah wants I do like I almost blue a good
litle thing. So all right, I'll be quiet. We'll move
on to new team.
Speaker 3 (16:00):
It was so cameo heavy. It's like Travis, but wasn't
too many cats? Was it just about the cameo? Like
I thought? It wasn't a cameo. Bunnie was like a
star of it. He was hilarious and I thought he
was great.
Speaker 7 (16:14):
I think they, wow, that's one of Moose guys because
he's making in there. Yeah, and the thought he'd have
been in there miss mister golf right.
Speaker 6 (16:27):
Yeah, I think he did be something though that it
was like Guinness book whatever for like most cameos or
something like that.
Speaker 5 (16:34):
We want to chat on the top to him about it.
Speaker 1 (16:36):
Wow.
Speaker 5 (16:37):
But I did see that. I did see a bunch of.
Speaker 6 (16:39):
Stuff from the premiere and it cracked me up because
they had like all these shelves set up, and on
the shelves there was the wheat like faux wheaties boxes
but it said pieces of and for breakfast, and so
there were these cereal boxes like that all over the place.
So I like how they tied in some of the originals,
And that's what I think.
Speaker 5 (16:56):
I liked a lot about people.
Speaker 6 (16:57):
Some people might disagree completely with me, but I'm liked
how there was little subtle hints of the first one
tied in throwout.
Speaker 5 (17:05):
Yeah, I'm gonna be quiet. I don't want to run
it for Harry, but yeah.
Speaker 3 (17:09):
We are talks right now.
Speaker 5 (17:10):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (17:10):
I it's gonna get harder because of his performance in
this one. But our guy, Shooting McGavin was was possibly
making an appearance at the Swing and ning it open.
Speaker 2 (17:17):
Are you serious.
Speaker 5 (17:19):
Let's go? Yeah.
Speaker 6 (17:20):
Now he's you know, re emerged and he's I know,
I know, might he might require appearance.
Speaker 2 (17:25):
You know, has he is he known for anything else?
Speaker 6 (17:30):
Actually you can't, Yeah, you can't be known as anything else.
Speaker 3 (17:38):
Media handle Shooter McGavin like he's yeah.
Speaker 2 (17:41):
That's him.
Speaker 5 (17:42):
I don't know if that's his. He doesn't even have
a real name anymore. It's just shooter.
Speaker 4 (17:46):
I saw something on social I think it was on
Instagram of him trying to show Nick Faldo how to
do the whole shooter thing.
Speaker 2 (17:53):
It was really funny.
Speaker 6 (17:55):
Yeah, all right, Zach Blair, he's a funny guy. He
goes into golf Galaxy for a driver fitting. I think
it was ahead of maybe it was last week or
the week before. I'm not sure what twitterment it was.
But the fitter there a GoF Galaxy, doesn't recognize them
and Zack's going through and he goes, you know, yeah,
you're probably a one handicap and he's like, oh really,
(18:19):
he's hitting you know, some drives and he's like, well, you.
Speaker 5 (18:22):
Know, you got to work on this, you got to
do that.
Speaker 6 (18:24):
The whole The club fitters trying to give him all
this stuff, but you know, he doesn't if you don't
know him, he shows up, he doesn't.
Speaker 5 (18:31):
Maybe present doesn't.
Speaker 2 (18:33):
Look like the prototypical tour player exactly.
Speaker 5 (18:36):
That's exactly what's getting got.
Speaker 6 (18:37):
You know, it's not because like sometimes I'll be on
the course and I'm like, oh, they all look this
in girl tall with the hat and whatever, and he's
just in street clothes. You know, he's shorter, et cetera,
et cetera, and so they didn't recognize him. So that
was a funny little clip that I saw on social.
Speaker 2 (18:51):
I think it was in Minneapolis for the prior to
the three three.
Speaker 6 (18:54):
It was I think it was a Wednesday night or something.
He's like, I was just going for a driver fitting
and yeah, so I think now.
Speaker 2 (19:00):
He's he's also a golf course architect. He's designed a
tree farm down that Carolina, is it.
Speaker 5 (19:07):
Yeah, he's a drafty guy too. He's a he's a fun,
fun dude. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (19:10):
I've heard the golf course is terrific too.
Speaker 6 (19:13):
I heard the same and logo bingo they have a
couple of different versions of that, so that would be
fun if you ever get out there. Rory and Saint Tropez.
So Rory is out parting in santrope. A guy yells hey, Rory,
where's the green jacket? And Rory, you know, clearly having
a good time, maybe enjoying a beverage or two.
Speaker 5 (19:31):
He just points on the water.
Speaker 6 (19:32):
He's like it's on the yacht and I'm like wow,
one an all time response.
Speaker 5 (19:40):
And then the guy was like yeah, he's like tapping
him up. It was It was funny.
Speaker 6 (19:43):
So anytime I see Rory news, I just got to
share it kind of for kind of for our listeners,
kind of for Harry.
Speaker 4 (19:49):
Yeah, well I saw the same clip you're referring to.
I believe it was the same clip. I didn't see
any women in the shot, which was kind of weird,
Like you're in Central Pey, like I'm expecting women in
like thongs, you know, to be you know, just hanging.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
Out like that's my vision of Santra.
Speaker 6 (20:10):
Pey, right, yeah, yeah, you know. And also these guys
got to be careful. It's not like it's you know,
you know, moose and you go into some place where
you can be like we can.
Speaker 5 (20:23):
Have some girls around here.
Speaker 6 (20:25):
You know, it's like this is going to be captured
and you just filed for a divorce a year ago
and we're going to plast it all over the place.
Speaker 5 (20:31):
Like I'm I'm sure he might have a little you know,
like they're on the yacht.
Speaker 3 (20:36):
Okay, yeah, you know.
Speaker 6 (20:39):
Let's be smart about this or your wife's not letting
you go to Santro Bay again. All right, And that's
the sea brought to you by where s PF. Looking
for some protection that actually works and feels great. Where
s PF by p G a pro Justin Thomas has
you covered on and off the course, dermatologists tested and
sweat resistant.
Speaker 5 (20:58):
It's broad spectrum.
Speaker 6 (20:59):
SPF won't mess up your swing or your skin from
the first t to everyday life. Protect yourself like the
pros shop now wear SPF dot com. That's where SPF
dot com and stay sunsafe all year long.
Speaker 3 (21:14):
I was in my where SPF in Pebble Beach for
sure because so much again that are round on Monday
at Pebble Beach. I think from what we've talked to
the people there, we probably have had the two nicest
days of the year. In those two days for our
rounds of Pebble Beach, like amazing. It was bright and
(21:34):
sunny and blue and seventy degrees, very little winds, enough
wind to have fun with it. Yeah, I mean I
was thinking about it flying home, Like if someone said, hey,
you could play one more round of golf, right, and
that's it. I don't know how I wouldn't say, get
me back on Pebble Beach. Like very lucky and fortunate
(21:56):
to even be able to go there and play that.
I understand that. And I don't take that for granted
because it's not easy, right, It's not. It's not cheap,
you know. The iHeart trip is is awesome. It's so
it's a client trip. We take about one hundred clients
out there. They set everything up, they take care of everything.
You stay at the end in Spanish Bay, which is spectacular.
(22:18):
The staff, I mean, they couldn't accommodate you any better.
Like you're in the room. I have my sunglasses sitting out.
I go out to dinner. I come back, there's like
a Pebble Beach like soft sunglass case that they're now
sitting under right, like charge. Yeah, everything like they just
think the food there is spectacular every every single place.
(22:41):
But yeah, so we go out to the Pebble Beach
was our first. Actually when we got there, I had
my clients from Top Dog Law with me, great great clients,
and uh, we get there, the one guy wasn't there.
So there was four of us. We're grabbing lunch and
it was like one o'clock and we had I had
to be back at like five o'clock for like a
host like pre meeting or whatever it was. And our
(23:03):
waitress I was like, God, we'd love to go to
the hay. So she calls and she she's able to
get us out on the hay. We go up there.
That was a tee off for like a little bit,
but you know, I took care of the guy at
the front. They got us out a little bit quicker
and we were able to get a quick round in
it to hay, which is just it's so fun. It's
this little tiny Tiger Woods Design Part three course with
the most spectacular views of Pebble Beach. You sit way
(23:27):
up hide there's a bar up there. That was a blast,
got a nice little warm up and then the next
day eight forty t time at pebble Beach. You get
out there on hole one, it's like a little bit
cloud you have your hoodie on. By whole two, the
hoodie was off, the clouds were gone, and it was
bright and sunny the rest of the time. Played with
Djhidge from Ihearten and two awesome guys from from Minneapolis,
(23:50):
Corey and TJ. And we get on the first team.
We're like, all right, what are we doing?
Speaker 5 (23:53):
You know?
Speaker 3 (23:54):
You know that guy that like he's the bets guy right,
Like I needed a calculator and abacus, like we were
playing green jackets three hole matches. I have no idea
what happened. All I know is after the match, I
got handed one hundred and sixty bucks.
Speaker 6 (24:13):
So wait, where were you on marcel ciam watch you know,
did you have a bunch of drinks and just go
threat in the course record?
Speaker 3 (24:20):
No? No, No, I didn't. I didn't. We did have
some cocktails. We uh, we were drinking a little bit
on that for that round, but but not too much.
But yeah, I had Uh, I had two birdies. I
birdied the par five six playing at like four hundred
and eighty yards. It was that uphill shot. I hit
that three hybrid up that hill, landed on the green,
(24:43):
missed the eagle putt by about six inches.
Speaker 5 (24:46):
How good are that?
Speaker 3 (24:49):
Yeah? Yeah, And I didn't want to like, I didn't
want to have a knee knocker for Birdie either. I
was happy that it was a It was a gimmey.
It was a gimme gimme.
Speaker 5 (24:56):
Too, not like you know, gimme pick it up they
you put it out.
Speaker 3 (25:02):
I tapped it in, but it was probably ages here.
And then I birdied the twelfth. It was playing one
ninety five with a little wind, a little six iron
and uh probably another like twelve fifteen footer and my
boy Devin, my caddy, awesome kid from from La giving
(25:22):
great reads all day. The other the other caddy there,
Jack was awesome. So it was like, you know, just
a great group. You're gambling, two great caddies, beautiful weather,
like ten out of ten day at Pebble Beach.
Speaker 6 (25:35):
We have to dribble in those videos we have of
you over that the sound bite two game there, because
that was, like I said, I was living vicariously through
your our group.
Speaker 2 (25:42):
I looked at him, I.
Speaker 3 (25:43):
Was like, come on, I was watching eighteen was so
fun like because that. You know, you watched that hole
so much. That tree is like.
Speaker 2 (25:52):
So, yeah, where did your drive go? Like near the tree?
Speaker 3 (25:57):
My drive went. It went upright, you know, towards the
car path and and I actually hit a provisional because
we didn't know if it skipped across and went out
of ob two of us did the.
Speaker 5 (26:06):
Same spots during your tournament.
Speaker 3 (26:08):
Yeah, I hit, I hit, I nuked the provisional like
up by the tree. It was like a perfect drive.
But yeah, it's sitting in the middle of the car
path my first drive. So I pulled it back, took
the drop, and then I hit it up to you
know that that tree up closet on the right. I
hit it like a little bit further right than I
wanted to be, so I had to, you know, kind
(26:30):
of punch it to the front of the green. But
when I when I hit it to the front of
the green, it rolled out to the right a little bit.
So I had a good look at at a birdie
putt and then tapped in, tapped in the park that.
Speaker 2 (26:42):
Twelfth hole, the par three that you birdied, does that
play uphill?
Speaker 3 (26:47):
I feel like it's pretty flat. I feel like it's
pretty flat. Yeah, yeah, but the middle eleven is way
up there.
Speaker 2 (26:54):
Eleven's way even the dog leg right is way uphill.
Speaker 4 (26:57):
And you showed us Gene Hackman's old house that sits
right down there.
Speaker 2 (27:01):
That place is spectacular.
Speaker 3 (27:02):
Yeah, yeah, absolutely spectacular. Yeah you're good, Daniel. Yeah, it
just was everything about the day, the course, the conditions.
Speaker 2 (27:14):
Where did your ball on seven?
Speaker 4 (27:16):
I saw your tee off on seven and they were
congratulating you on a good t shot. They knuckled you,
and but I didn't see where the ball landed.
Speaker 3 (27:24):
Oh yeah, if you watch a video sent to the
caddy was he was the one who took the video
of me on seven and seventeen. He actually zooms in
after the shots so you could see where the ball lands.
It landed. I don't I hate giving out fee because
people like no, maybe it was like a six to
eight foot left. It landed pin high and just spun
back a little bit and kicked a tad left. I
had a birdie look at that too, just missed a birdie.
(27:46):
Putt left it like an in short and tapped it in.
Speaker 2 (27:49):
And what was what was that playing the yard?
Speaker 3 (27:52):
It was it was short. I think it was like
one hundred. It might have even been under it under
a hundred. It might have been like eighty five.
Speaker 4 (28:02):
And what was seventeen playing? Because I saw you hit
that T shot too, and that was another good one.
Speaker 3 (28:07):
Seventeen was playing one ninety.
Speaker 2 (28:11):
But it's probably into the wind there the winds.
Speaker 3 (28:16):
What was that playing? I just had it up, actually
I had the Yeah, I think it was playing like
one something like that. Yeah, because yeah, if you if
you watch the video, he took that too. He zoomed in. Dude,
I hit every green on the part threes, which is
not my game. Wow, Like my game is not hitting greens.
Speaker 2 (28:35):
You hit the green on five too, that's a that's
a yeah.
Speaker 4 (28:38):
Were you playing over the the the gorge or was
the T box in front of the gorge?
Speaker 2 (28:44):
On fun?
Speaker 3 (28:44):
It was in front of it, okay, yeah it was
for other Yeah, it was like up left a little bit. Yeah,
hit every hit every green. It was just it was
just a day. But the issue is I had multiple
you know, sixes and sevens, just to kill my number.
If I could eliminate that, man, yeah, yeah, it's great.
And then Spanish Bay the next day, I played with
James with my client, played a little head to head match,
(29:06):
and it was like such a different day. It's wild.
It was like overcast the whole day and cool. It
was like a little bit of a mist, which is
a cool feel for playing Spanish Bay because you feel
like you're in like Scotland. But yeah, I had two
birdies on Spanish Bay too, so I game going to
pat and Pebble Beach. I birdied number eight the part
three and I burdied seventeen Part four, sure part.
Speaker 2 (29:27):
Four, so you know the par three man here, I.
Speaker 3 (29:30):
Don't know what was going on. Yeah, in the range
where I was kind of like making sure. I like,
I hate even saying this stuff out loud cause people
are probably you're an idiot, but like, you know, it
was making sure. I was kind of like pushing my
hands through my shot right because I get stuck back.
I fall out of my swing when I'm when I'm
not playing well, and I was making sure. I was
like moving my hands through the ball to get me
(29:51):
through it, and it was really like getting me.
Speaker 5 (29:54):
I don't that makes sense.
Speaker 8 (29:55):
I mean sometimes this say, if you think that sounds stupid,
I'll sometimes take a tea, put it even in front
of where I should be, or just throw something almost
in front of the ball, so it's like, okay, hit
the ball, then you know, hit that or at least
when you're maybe swing paths go in that direction.
Speaker 5 (30:09):
So it's the same thing with making your hands go
through so.
Speaker 2 (30:11):
You're not extend that.
Speaker 4 (30:12):
Yeah, yeah, extend through it like you're almost like you're
hitting a slap shot.
Speaker 2 (30:17):
Yes, you know, I mean something, you know.
Speaker 5 (30:19):
And now I'm going to get back on my happy
gilmour Y.
Speaker 3 (30:22):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'll send you that. I'll send you
the video of two shots because you can see the
ball he zooms in on the ball where it ends up.
Speaker 1 (30:32):
I was watching on the story like the stuff that
you were putting up.
Speaker 2 (30:36):
It was great. Yeah, it just looked like a spectacular day.
And it's a good thing that I did.
Speaker 1 (30:41):
I didn't go on this boondoggle because that weather would
not have would not have been It.
Speaker 3 (30:47):
Would have been like the Spanish Bay day for sure. Yeah.
And actually, so after the round at at Pebble, stuck around,
had lunch out on the patio on eighteen and then
I met up with all the guys from d from
my DC office and their clients and we went out
as a ninthsome on the hay Wow, and there was
a ton of gambling going on there. I always say that, hey,
(31:08):
people are like what do I need to bring? I'm like,
you need two wedges, a putter and a helmet because
it's like it's tight and some people are very new
at the game that are.
Speaker 5 (31:16):
Playing like there flying back.
Speaker 2 (31:20):
But so it's not like the par three up at
Hamilton Farms.
Speaker 3 (31:24):
No, that's a.
Speaker 2 (31:25):
Course, legit course.
Speaker 3 (31:27):
This is like a chip and putt kind of thing,
but with the most beautiful greens and like great bunkering
and you know, it's just a coola like you know,
seventy five yarders, sixty yarders, ninety yards like nothing over
ninety or ninety five yards where Yeah, Hamilton Farms it
was like two twenty everything. Yeah, totally different. But yeah,
(31:49):
and then and then I met Scotty McCreary, the country artist,
former American Idol winner, come out certified golf guy. His
father grew up on Pinehurst. Wow, he he played both days.
I think he shot in the seventies on pebble beach.
Uh stick. Yeah he could play. Yeah. We gotta get
(32:14):
talking to him a little bit. Yeah, super nice guy.
Speaker 5 (32:18):
So that's awesome. Yeah, it sounds like it looks like it.
I was, yeah, see, and then you.
Speaker 6 (32:24):
Had a celeb pairing. It was like you were actually
playing like the Pubble Beach program.
Speaker 3 (32:28):
Out the O great. Great. Now I'm playing a c
country Club tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (32:34):
I'm playing French Creek tomorrow. Looking forward to that.
Speaker 3 (32:38):
Yeah, and you guys, my chef's coming back on shipsticks.
They will, they will be making it back here today
so I can get him back in time for to
play AC country Club. Great process with Pebble Beach because
it was layovers and misflights and turn arounds and I
don't have to worry about that. Shipped them out and
uh they did a great job with everything for me.
(32:59):
So beau the shipsticks for that.
Speaker 5 (33:02):
That's awesome.
Speaker 6 (33:03):
Well, talking about golf bags and stuff like that, I
actually won two Ogo travel bags and two Ogo golf bags.
So it was a contest and I was like, you
know what, like I need a travel bag whatever, let
me just enter in this not thinking anything, and I
ended up winning four bags, well, two travel bags, two
(33:23):
golf bags. So I was like, wow, that's crazy. I
didn't check my Instagram DM for a couple of days.
And then also Harry Hall said, Danielle, thanks for the
all for I just saw this.
Speaker 5 (33:31):
That was yesterday.
Speaker 6 (33:32):
He's like, next time, I hope you and be our
great h So we'll have to get Harry Hall on here.
Speaker 5 (33:37):
He responded to.
Speaker 4 (33:38):
Oh, so that's the Harry guys were talking about in
the chat. I thought you meant Harry Higgs. For some reason,
I wasn't focused.
Speaker 2 (33:45):
On there's too many Harrys. Now we're talking about that.
Speaker 6 (33:47):
Well, there's only one Harry who's right to my left.
There's alternate Harrys who were trying to get on here.
Speaker 2 (33:54):
Okay, good, Well he's be great.
Speaker 5 (33:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (33:57):
Then he took a little bit of a holiday back home,
and I think it's cord Well, this hometown, I think.
Speaker 5 (34:02):
So they have a young daughter May Yeah, yeah, and
they have a young daughter so went back there and
had some family time.
Speaker 6 (34:07):
So I think he had just left yesterday and head
back to Vegas.
Speaker 5 (34:11):
So we'll get him.
Speaker 4 (34:12):
And yeah, he's another UNLV guy, Yes, sir, he might
have played with Kitty Yama maybe there.
Speaker 5 (34:17):
Yeah, I don't know. I don't know the age difference.
Speaker 2 (34:19):
But yeah, good stuff.
Speaker 3 (34:22):
Wow, Well let's wrap up the season with the season.
Wrap up the win them Championship. Moving to the playoffs.
Number sixty through one oh nine are in the field,
which is which is pretty interesting. Top seventy make it
into the FedEx playoffs. Top one hundred get full status.
You have guys like Adam Scott who's at eighty five,
(34:44):
who's looking to make a move. We talked about Kidyama
who went from one ten to fifty three, so yeah,
can be made. But let's talk about Sedgefield, the old
Donald Ross with the course of course with Harry Mays.
Speaker 2 (34:54):
Yeah, I love this golf course.
Speaker 4 (34:56):
This is, of course where the former Greater Greensboro. It's
what it used to be called back in the day.
I used to go to it when I lived in
North Carolina.
Speaker 2 (35:05):
Fun event.
Speaker 4 (35:06):
It used to be at Forest Oaks, but they moved
it back to Sedgefield in two thousand and eight.
Speaker 2 (35:10):
And this place, I don't think you need to ever
move this tournament again. This place is spectacular.
Speaker 4 (35:16):
Donald Ross you mentioned moves nineteen twenty six design renovated
by Chris Spence in two thousand and seven. Par seventy
seven and thirty one yards not long for a PGA
tour standards and Bermuda grass everywhere and it's just this
lovely shade of green. This place just looks so darn
good on camera with the bunkering, the vintage Ross bunkering,
(35:40):
and the rough is manageable. It's only two and a
half inches of Bermuda rough, which isn't too bad. Average
green size six thousand square feet. There's fifty two sand bunkers,
five water hazards that are in play on six of
the holes. There's only two par five so the scoring, ever,
it never gets too crazy here because there's only two
par fives number five and fifteen, and four par threes.
(36:04):
Moose would kill these par threes probably with the way
he's playing right now three seven, twelve, and sixteen and
the average scores over these past couple of years, it's
like you got to go eighteen under to twenty two
under in that range to have a chance to win
this thing. Aaron Rye, Lucas Glover, JT Posting, Kevin Kissner,
Brent Snedeker have been some of the most recent winners here.
(36:27):
So it's it's not a bomber's place. It's you know,
good iron play and good putting to win here. But
a great way to wrap up the season and The
only thing you got to deal with in the afternoon
coverage is hearing Steve Sands on this afternoon going through
where this guy moved with that putt in the FedEx
Cup standings when there's three days to play, drives me crazy,
(36:47):
absolutely crazy. But yeah, you mentioned these guys want to
get in the top seventy to make the playoffs, so
you know, a lot.
Speaker 2 (36:53):
Of a lot of wagering.
Speaker 4 (36:55):
You know, pre wagering on this tournament is based on
guys that you think are really motivated.
Speaker 2 (37:00):
That's typically what people do. They're like, all right, well
this guy's he's not in the top fifty. The top
fifty gets him into the BMW. He's gonna be motivated
to you know, have a big week.
Speaker 4 (37:09):
Yeah, you know, like Ryan Fox is thirty first in
the FedEx Cup. He's right outside the tour championship and
he's in the field, so you think he has a
big week.
Speaker 2 (37:18):
He guarantees him a trip to Atlanta. Guys, you know
things like that.
Speaker 3 (37:22):
Yeah, Yeah, it's funny how like there there usually there's
only a couple, there's only a couple moves like yeah,
it seems like a lot's gonna happen and winds up
being one or two guys move because everybody's you know,
everybody plays well. He talks about Aaron rye jj spawn
I think has a win here too, doesn't a couple
of years ago or no, no, he was three, he
was t three last three. Yeah, yeah, yeah, very close.
(37:45):
But yeah, let's uh, let's see the line with our
friends at bet Parks.
Speaker 1 (37:50):

You bet bet Parks gambling problem Call one eight hundred gambler.
Speaker 2 (39:09):
Uh so you have Buzy and who Yeah, he needs
a big week.
Speaker 3 (39:15):
Yeah, and he's sitting up there at the top. Alex Norn,
Matt's two thousand, Aaron Rye looking to repeat Sea wou Kegan.
I like Keegan at that twenty five hundred number. I
could see him, you know, trying to go all out
to get it to get a win here. And Lucas Glover,
who's had some success here as well, at thirty three
hundred number is pretty it's pretty interesting too. You got
(39:39):
guys like Max Homa at twenty one hundred, which everyone's
always interested to see how Max plays. Like Matt Wallace,
who just played really well at thirty three hundred and Okhay,
who's who's been a little bit off, but you could
could he guy like Jay Knapp who we talked about,
also in that range, and Jordan Spieth also in the field.
So yeah, this this is interesting watch. You know, you
(40:01):
never know, maybe this year may be one of these
years where we get more movement than normal.
Speaker 4 (40:05):
Yeah, these were pre tournament numbers, but you named you
rattled off the names that I took. I got Jordan
Spieth in the one and done and I took him
at three thousand plus three thousand to win nap Is,
four thousand to win Glover, thirty five hundred to win,
an ok shay in a top ten at plus two
point fifty.
Speaker 2 (40:23):
So you've rattled off all the names that interested me.
So good stuff.
Speaker 3 (40:28):
Yep, yeah, yeah, yeah, all right, cool, we'll be uh,
we'll be watching, we'll recap it. We get move ever
closer to the playoffs and to the Ryder Cup. So
a lot of implications there too, as that as that
roster gets finalized, you heading out. Where are you playing?
Speaker 2 (40:43):
I'm playing tomorrow at French Creek.
Speaker 4 (40:47):
Nice gil Han's design that we used to belong to actually,
but a buddy of mine's a member up there, Scott Duke.
Speaker 1 (40:52):
I'm going to play with him and a couple other guys.
And then Saturday at nineteen.
Speaker 2 (40:56):
Twelve, still some guys dropped out.
Speaker 1 (40:59):
We got an open an opening, if you're if you're available,
moose Saturday morning at eight thirty.
Speaker 3 (41:03):
I'm actually gonna be down the shore. We have your
Magical Meala Foundation event at Maynard's on Friday night. I'm
playing Azy Country Club Friday.
Speaker 2 (41:10):
And oh okay, so that's all part of it.
Speaker 4 (41:13):
Yeah, oh nice, nice, And then Sunday Doylestown Country Club at.
Speaker 3 (41:17):
Nowt Yeah, so enjoy down the road. Enjoy. We'll send
us some pictures so we could post it.
Speaker 2 (41:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (41:24):
And I ordered the Stack and Tilt book on eBay
for eight bucks, wow.
Speaker 2 (41:30):
Free shipping.
Speaker 4 (41:32):
It's something I started kind of working on getting that
weight because my ball striking needs to be better, and
I think the stack until with the weight on the
front leg to start is something I've been doing. And
I'm just ordering the book because I'm really curious about
all this stuff.
Speaker 2 (41:46):
And it was eight dollars, so it'll come next week.
Speaker 3 (41:49):
So we'll talk about West Patterson, Saki and Saraki.
Speaker 4 (41:54):
Yeah, Saraki is a big proponent of it over at
your your spot.
Speaker 3 (41:57):
It works for It works for a lot of guys, man,
it works for honestly, Like my part three is like
the swing is a lot of those principles, not exactly,
that's that's kind of how I feel when I feel
a little bit like off, like, I always go back
to that and it gets me just a little bit
more in line and more comfortable.
Speaker 4 (42:14):
So yeah, about like sixty percent of your weight on
that front in that front leg.
Speaker 3 (42:18):
Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, all right, good luck, good luck
