Speaker 2 (00:24):
You just got to get out there and swing and
ding it.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
Yeah, you know, just guess it's gonna go out there
and try to swing it and ding it.

Speaker 4 (00:33):
That's right, Welcome in to swing it and ding it.
This is Moves along with Mays and Matthews. And we'll
talk about a lot of our sponsors today because we're
going to talk about our outing obviously, Bet Parks, By
My Balls, Wear SBF and Rita's. And this is episode
two hundred and forty nine, which means when we are
live on site next week at the Legacy Club, it

(00:54):
will be episode two fifty.

Speaker 5 (00:56):
Oh.

Speaker 4 (00:57):
That's exciting, very exciting. Cool and our guest we got
the band back together. We'll be back with us.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (01:05):
He will not be sweating his buy my Balls off
like like he would be in July the Great West.
Patterson his back for uh for the swing and ding
it open.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
You have no idea.

Speaker 5 (01:17):
How excited I am that you moved it to the fall.
I'm excited. What is what is this my fourth fire
doing it?

Speaker 4 (01:29):
I think it's your fourth. I think kind of remember
because we had another, like another outing the one. You're
like an extra one, so I couldn't totally remember. But yeah,
we're pumped. We're gonna go through everything tonight and talk
about you know, kind of the run of show here,
but let's talk about you man, talk about what's going
on in your world, seeing great things out of you,

(01:49):
talk about the World Long Drive competition and all you
have going on.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
I mean, it's, uh, I'm getting older, but somehow I'm
still still doing pretty well on the spot.

Speaker 5 (01:58):
It's uh, it's been fun.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
We had a World Championships a couple of weeks ago
in Denver, got beat to go into the top eight.

Speaker 5 (02:05):
So it came in ninth in the world.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
So, you know, be honest with you, it wasn't expecting
you know, the goals get the top sixteen. Came in ninth,
so I'll take it. But it's been fun. It's it's
always a lot easier hit one club than fourteen.

Speaker 6 (02:18):
You know, well, you're.

Speaker 7 (02:22):
Always so open with your journey on social We love
following watching and you mentioned something about your dad while
you were in Worlds. Can you share that with us
on the pod here?

Speaker 5 (02:32):
Oh, don't make me get teared up?

Speaker 3 (02:33):
Care Danielle No, So, I guess a little backstory. You know,
I lost my dad about two about a year and
a half ago, he lost his battleskin cancer. And you know,
we were at World's last two weeks ago and it
was really the first time I've been back in like
competition mode, into a like with my back against the
wall type situation, and I had to win my last

(02:57):
two sets to move on to the top sixteen. Like
I mention earlier, that's kind of the goal. It's get
the top sixteen at the World Champe. It's a it's
a good feat. And I was down to my last
ball and and kind of just like looked into the
sky and Denver and just kind of felt this like
overcoming presence around me and and kind of saw him
out there. And it was probably the coolest moment for sure.

(03:19):
It definitely put things in perspective and and I knew
he was there with me and proceiveed hit the ball
where I needed to and win win and move on through.
So definitely he was there with me.

Speaker 7 (03:30):
It was cool he was there and everybody else we
were all cheering and watching that journey.

Speaker 6 (03:35):
That was awesome.

Speaker 7 (03:36):
We're proud of you and obviously always rooting for you,
no doubt.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
Yeah, well you're in the what Dallas Fort Worth metroplex
area right now?

Speaker 2 (03:44):
What are you stalking bright?

Speaker 3 (03:48):
That's what you said. I'll actually do with Bryce the
next month, but no, I'm out here with my buddies.

Speaker 5 (03:53):
JJ.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
Kaleen puts on a tournament called the Carney Cup every
year and it is exactly what you think it is.
It's the Carney Cop that's but it's it's a fun
two ball. They get some crazy pens, crazy teas, but
there's some good, good players and it's it's a good
one And JJ, who played on tour, has been a
good friend of mine forever and I wouldn't miss it

(04:14):
for the world. So we're out here, and uh, we're
about our west of.

Speaker 5 (04:19):
Fort Wards, so you can only imagine I got here.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
So it's fourteen clubs this week.

Speaker 5 (04:23):
This week it's fourteen I believe it or not.

Speaker 3 (04:25):
Like my best for my game is short game, so
I can put the lights out of chet that.

Speaker 5 (04:29):
So we're good. The irons not so much.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
Maybe we should have him do a short game clinic
to moves do it all.

Speaker 5 (04:38):
I'm just I'm mad that Brandon's going to be there.
So I actually got a swing card.

Speaker 3 (04:41):
Now, well, the ball.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
Might not fly as far and in mid October as
it does back in July though, right.

Speaker 5 (04:49):
It would definitely not.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
So you guys, you're stacking it against me. But you know, uh,
you know, if we just send it up in the
air and people get excited, so it's fun.

Speaker 4 (04:58):
No doubt. Well, one thing we know our listeners love
is talking about their game and tinkering with their game,
and we all do it. And even someone at your
level is constantly learning, picking up new things, working with teachers.
Talk about anything over the past year that maybe you
found in your game that has really helped you to
get you to that see where you are now.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
Yeah, I mean I believe it or not. With law drive,
that's probably the equipment. And you know, we're trying to
hit the ball as far as we can, obviously, and
there's more methods to the madness and lawn drive than
I would even.

Speaker 5 (05:29):
Say in regular golf when it comes to equipment, and.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
You know how you officially moved the clubs, so it's
very interesting. But you know past year for me equipment wise,
as I turned into start using the Jumbo Max gripts.

Speaker 5 (05:44):
So big price in the shambo grips that you see.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
And I have one hundred and twenty three gram grip now,
so like most regular grips are fifty two fifty three grams.
So it's changed everything for me, and it's it's helped
my game tremendously, but also helped my law drive. You
think about it, the more weight on the handle, the
quicker to handle stops, and the club head it gets

(06:07):
on front. So it's I think the shameless plot because
they're one of my sponsors.

Speaker 4 (06:11):
Missed, but we're all about that here.

Speaker 5 (06:17):
Jumbo Scripts look it up. It'll help your game.

Speaker 3 (06:20):
But I mean, I don't understand why people never get
fitted for grips in the first place. Right, that's what's
holding the club. I mean side for a golf ball
is probably the most important thing you have. So Jumbo
Max scripts check it out.

Speaker 4 (06:32):
I love it.

Speaker 7 (06:33):
Well, great segue, West, what's your driver set up entirely
look like right now?

Speaker 6 (06:37):
Like loft chaft length.

Speaker 7 (06:38):
I feel like everyone listening wants to know what you
used to hit it four hundred plus.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
You got a four crank driver in there.

Speaker 3 (06:45):
Nineties crank we have, well we have a Cobra, So cobra,
I have it at a five degrees.

Speaker 5 (06:51):
So I got it down to two and a half.

Speaker 3 (06:53):
So two and a half degrees you got forty seven
and a half inch Actress cheft with a Jumbo Max
grip you know when we were in Denver actually bumped
it up to six Greece because you want the.

Speaker 5 (07:04):
Ball to go a little bit.

Speaker 3 (07:05):
Uh, you want to carry a little bit higher and
have a little bit more spend. But like if we're
at normal conditions, you want Lewis loft possible and then
hitting up one control the spend.

Speaker 5 (07:14):
So that's the that's the part of most people know
about long drive.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
There's a lot more that goes into it than just hey,
you go swing as hard as you can't six balls.

Speaker 5 (07:22):
It's uh, there's definitely a method to the madness.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
Well, talk to us about like the type of training
or practice that you go through, So like how how
many balls do you hit?

Speaker 2 (07:32):
Like in a session? Are you out there?

Speaker 1 (07:34):
You know, every day for you know, six hours. You know,
crank and crank, and drivers like, what do you do?

Speaker 3 (07:40):
I'm probably the worst person asked that because I don't
practice long drive as much as the other guys do.
I being in South Florida is play a bunch of golf,
So that's my excuse for practice.

Speaker 5 (07:51):
But realistically, you know, when you gear up.

Speaker 3 (07:53):
For a big event, I get out there probably two
or three times a week and take a bucket of
balls anywhere from eighty to one hundred balls, and you
just send it as hard as you can and don't
expect to hit it straight. You're just kind of pushing
yourself to the max speeds. And then once you the
goal is to be able to build your I guess
your your threshold that you can get to, but your

(08:13):
cruising speed to be higher than most just no world champions.
As we hit all day for four days straight as
hard as you can. It's it's there's a lot more
to a lot more to it.

Speaker 5 (08:25):
Than it seems. It's more of an endurance race as well.

Speaker 3 (08:28):
So the more you can push your your your normal threshold,
your cruising speed, it's easier on you.

Speaker 5 (08:33):
So but if you're trying to gain speed.

Speaker 3 (08:35):
I would say, go out there and send it as
hard as you can a couple of times a week
and don't care where it goes.

Speaker 6 (08:41):
And try.

Speaker 3 (08:42):
Yeah right, Well, you know in my age, you guys
start stretching now, which I didn't think that was ever
going to come, but yeah, that's probably half the reason
on practice as much for long drive because it hurts.

Speaker 4 (08:52):
The next thing, stretch zone will be right next to
you on the range when you're setting up this year, So.

Speaker 5 (08:58):
Can we put them on number ten?

Speaker 6 (08:59):
Please?

Speaker 5 (09:01):
Can we move them to the tea box?

Speaker 7 (09:03):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (09:04):
So talk about your your schedule. Obviously you just had
a huge competition. What's what's the rest of the calendar
year look like? What do you have circles?

Speaker 1 (09:11):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (09:12):
I mean so with the season being done, I get
to play a lot of golf now and and you know,
pretty good player, so I get to play a lot
of four balls and those kind of things towards the
end of the fall, and then you know, when the
winter comes, we'll get to play a lot of golf
down in Florida. So it's it's for just kind of
gearing on the golf game.

Speaker 6 (09:31):
Now.

Speaker 3 (09:32):
You know, our season for next year probably won't start
till the end of March, so I really don't worry
about long drive and probably to the beginning of March.

Speaker 5 (09:40):
To be honest with you, you.

Speaker 3 (09:42):
Know how our seasons, you know, scheduled the bigger events
or obviously towards the end of the year, And don't
every want to burn myself out in the beginning. So
I kind of, you know, take it easy, get prepared
for it, and kind of this built throughout the season
until we get to the midsummer. So again it's I
really play a.

Speaker 5 (10:00):
Lot of golf. My happiness comes with my golf game,
not long drive. And be honest that you.

Speaker 7 (10:07):
Mentioned next week you're going to be with Bryson, So
can you share with us what you're doing.

Speaker 6 (10:11):
I mean, I'm sure we'll.

Speaker 5 (10:13):
Sure if I can, I'm not sure if I can
mention it now.

Speaker 3 (10:16):
I'll be back in Dallas next month and we're going
to do something with another shameless plug of Jumbo Max grips.

Speaker 5 (10:22):
So there you go.

Speaker 3 (10:23):
Bryson's part of the team. So we're going to do
a few things with the grips.

Speaker 6 (10:28):
Are you guys going to go ahead to head and
try to see who can hit further?

Speaker 5 (10:31):
I don't have enough followers for that, So well.

Speaker 6 (10:35):
That's why you challenge him.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
Yeah, you jump on him.

Speaker 5 (10:40):
Yeah, we'll see about that. Ride those coattails all day
if I could.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
Well, when you go out and play a regular round
of golf, do you do you dial it back ever
off the tee or are you still like I'm taking
my driver and I'm cutting the corner, and you know,
is that the way.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
You play golf?

Speaker 5 (10:57):
I mean, I'm a home track of Tequesta.

Speaker 3 (10:59):
Yes, I know we're in enos, but you know, for
the most time, if we're going to go play for
a million dollars a hole like I'm I'm gonna tee
it way down and I'm just gonna hit a little
squeeze cuts out there and hope to God that stays
in play.

Speaker 5 (11:11):
So I can stay.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
You have a fairway finder.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
No, I wouldn't call it a fairway finder. It's an
in balance finder.

Speaker 7 (11:18):
Okay, I just say it.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
I find I can.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
I like that, even.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
When I was trying to play this game for a living,
if I could stay and play, I could play with
just about anybody. But that's I'm just just happy. I
get five mulligans now for long drive awesome.

Speaker 4 (11:37):
Well, listen, we're excited to uh to have you once again.
We always appreciate you making time for us and making
sure you circle on the calendar. Uh, it'll be here
in a couple of days. There's one little storm system
that we have to see get out of the way.
I don't think it's gonna be anything at all, and
it's going to be in the sixties.

Speaker 6 (11:52):
Number nine in the world, is Kevin clear clear the way?

Speaker 4 (11:55):
Yeah, it's really looking forward to. We love we love
it when you get down to the Philly area, for sure.

Speaker 3 (12:00):
It's such a good event and I'm always blessed to
be a part of it until the day I can't
swing the club.

Speaker 5 (12:05):
I'll be there every year. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (12:07):
And when you're done, we'll find you something else for
you to do. All right, man, we'll see you in
a couple of days. Thanks again, and stay tuned. We'll
be right back.

Speaker 5 (12:17):
Awesome in your head, all.

Speaker 4 (12:19):
Right, Welcome back to Swing It and Ding It Great
connecting with our friend Wes Patterson, another gentleman who will
be joining us this year his first time ever at
a Swing It and Ding It open, benefiting the Magical
Meal Foundation. Brandon Matthews and you're not coming to one
hundred degrees. Yeah.

Speaker 8 (12:34):
Yeah, I'm really excited. Uh, definitely pumped to be there
on Monday and see what you guys do, what it's
all about. Obviously love the charity aspect that you guys
do there, So excited to be a part of it
and excited to contribute a little bit.

Speaker 4 (12:51):
Yeah, no doubt it's gonna we'll have you on the
range hitting some balls, showing some people a little bit
about making contact. A lot of people are excited to
see you do that. So yeah, really looking forward to
having out. Man, it's going to.

Speaker 8 (13:03):
Some people might want her to do that with all
the new lessons she's been getting getting. I mean, it's
not going to I have a weekly lesson looking pretty good.

Speaker 6 (13:13):
Oh yeah, don't put too much hype into it.

Speaker 9 (13:16):
They're going to be just looking good. I don't know
how it's performing.

Speaker 2 (13:20):
But are we still out of twelve hole? Max Brandon
or I.

Speaker 8 (13:24):
Mean, I mean, if she gets through twelve holes without
like planning, like, I think.

Speaker 6 (13:28):
Twelve is generous. I think it's normally like.

Speaker 8 (13:31):
I mean, it's a six year old child. After we
get to about the third hole and then she starts.

Speaker 9 (13:36):
Throwing down hole after that.

Speaker 8 (13:38):
Right by the time we get to nine, she's like,
get me the hell out of here.

Speaker 7 (13:42):
But no, I actually the last time we had a
little anniversary round and if we teat off at like
eight in the morning and cruise and we finished nine,
He's like, do you actually He's like, do you want
to play more? I'm like yeah, So we literally played
We played ten eleven.

Speaker 2 (14:00):
H it's pretty good.

Speaker 6 (14:01):
So I'm getting there. I'm getting there good.

Speaker 4 (14:06):
So Brandon, you see the guys getting the Cortn Ferry cards,
you know, last week, it's awesome. I always love seeing that,
you know. I remember, you know, when when you went
through your your different stages and that excitement. This is
an exciting time of year in the game of golf.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
Right.

Speaker 4 (14:21):
People think it's a little bit of the off season,
it's the fall, but for some people this is everything
time of year for them, right.

Speaker 8 (14:27):
It's amazing and kind of the way it is now
is a little bit different from when I got my card,
right because you know all the guys now some of
them were in my class as well. But you actually
have a little bit of a break until you get
to the new season in January.

Speaker 9 (14:48):
For us.

Speaker 8 (14:49):
You know, we had a week off before, you know,
my PGA Tour career started, so it was a little
bit different in that sense where you did really have
an adjustment period, and some of these guys that are
going to be rookies are going to have that adjustment period,
which I think is a little bit necessary. Kind of

(15:10):
just try to, you know, grasp a get a grasp
of what's happening, get a little bit of downtime, give
the body a break a little bit before you kind
of put it through a full season on the PGA
Tour and again come to the realization of where you're at.

Speaker 9 (15:25):
So good amount of good amount of but a lot
of these.

Speaker 8 (15:32):
Guys are incredibly talented, and you know, some of these
guys getting.

Speaker 9 (15:36):
There for the first time.

Speaker 8 (15:39):
You know, Chandler Blanchard, I've known him for a while,
Adrian Dumont Desart. He actually works with my new trainer,
Joe Yeager, And this kid's got a ton of talent.

Speaker 4 (15:54):
You know.

Speaker 9 (15:55):
He won I think.

Speaker 8 (15:56):
The second to last corn for the event, set a
record at whatever it was, like.

Speaker 9 (16:01):
Thirty four under or something like that.

Speaker 4 (16:02):
Was crazy.

Speaker 6 (16:04):
Is that any good?

Speaker 9 (16:05):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (16:06):
So he played Illinois. Was he an Illinois guy.

Speaker 9 (16:08):
Yeah, he was an Illinois guy.

Speaker 1 (16:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (16:11):
Yeah, and that's actually where my trainer's base is Champagne.

Speaker 6 (16:15):
His trainer's Joe Yeager and a great guy.

Speaker 7 (16:17):
He's incredibly successful with a lot of guys who are
returning from injuries.

Speaker 6 (16:21):
So Brandon's been working with him for a little bit.

Speaker 7 (16:23):
Now he's worked with Adrian, so seeing him earn his card,
it's pretty cool obviously going back.

Speaker 8 (16:29):
Oh yeah, a couple of guys in the Fidelity crew.

Speaker 6 (16:33):
Yeah, shout out to Drew car too.

Speaker 8 (16:36):
Yeah, it's all Drew by the way, right, I mean
we have to tell Drew it's all him.

Speaker 7 (16:41):
Yeah, I mean Drew's the one out there playing, no
question about it. Davis Chatfield, Yeah.

Speaker 9 (16:46):
I'll tell you what, Davis. Hank's a good friend of mine.

Speaker 8 (16:49):
He's an incredibly impressive guy in general community is how
routine based he is and how he sticks to exactly
what his schedule is laid out to the minute, almost
every day, Like it's it's one of the more impressive
things that I've seen. I mean, he writes in a

(17:10):
book every day right that at like you know, nine
oh five to ten twelve, right, you know, maybe not
to that exact, but like to that, I mean almost
to the minute, right, that's putting practice.

Speaker 9 (17:24):
And as soon as that time hits, he's done. Like
it's not like, oh, I need to make one more
putt Like he's very regimented and Hank is.

Speaker 4 (17:33):
Like military kind of it really is.

Speaker 8 (17:36):
And it's really impressive to watch Hank kind of go
through his stuff because he doesn't change it for anyone.
It's kind of just who he is. And he's one
of my favorite people. I really like Hank a lot.
And I got to play with Davis Chatfield this year,
and my god, that kid is impressive. Notre Dame guy,
and I believe at least the first noted guy to

(18:00):
have his card in a long time. I know there
hasn't been many of them.

Speaker 9 (18:06):
If one.

Speaker 7 (18:08):
Well, Harry wants to go back to Hank's schedule and
he wants to put an asterix by and say make
sure he finds time in the schedule to come on
the podcast.

Speaker 2 (18:15):
On the podcast, yeah.

Speaker 9 (18:18):
Yeah, we we got to. I'll sneak that in his notebook.

Speaker 1 (18:21):
One of the time we only needed like twelve minutestes.

Speaker 7 (18:26):
Okay, all right, it says it says eight twelve to seventeen.

Speaker 1 (18:31):
I'm in, hey brand, did you ever did you ever
play that French lick Pete die course that they could
stretch that thing out to eight thousand yards that place,
I've never really laid that one.

Speaker 5 (18:42):
Look.

Speaker 9 (18:43):
Yeah, good, I heard it gets a little bit funky.

Speaker 8 (18:48):
That's from what I've heard, at least, almost like too hard,
a little bit too tricked out. But it looked like
they kind of softened it up during the weekend and
there were some lower scores, So I think they're kind
of learning, right.

Speaker 9 (19:00):
I think this is second, maybe third year they've had
it there.

Speaker 2 (19:03):
Okay, So you know, with that big of.

Speaker 8 (19:06):
A ballpark, you have so many options, and you know,
the tour learns and you know, gets feedback from the
players and they they end up making it a true
good test of golf within a few years.

Speaker 5 (19:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (19:18):
So other than the sixth, sixth Major, the swing and
ding it open? What do you have on your calendar?
What circle? What's your what's your regimen? Like right now?

Speaker 8 (19:26):
Talk about your your near future. Yeah, so, been on
a really good routine.

Speaker 6 (19:32):
At times like fifteen minutes that time, it.

Speaker 9 (19:35):
Was fifteen minutes ago.

Speaker 8 (19:36):
But yeah, but yeah, I've been on a new workout
routine with the trainer I mentioned Joe Jaeger, And it's
amazing how much better I feel. You know, I haven't
really been out.

Speaker 10 (19:53):
Of pain in probably three years, right realistically, And it's
not like I'm completely out of pain now, but I'm
in the least.

Speaker 8 (20:04):
Amount of pain that I've been in since probably the
summer of twenty two.

Speaker 2 (20:10):
Wow.

Speaker 8 (20:11):
You know, simple things like she thinks I'm joking around
lying when I'm like, honey, I can't like I can't
like move this fast, I can't get up off the couch. Yeah,
I'm like, yeah, I'm like, honey, I'm struggling to give
me out a bath here.

Speaker 9 (20:25):
My back's destroying me. Right. She's like, are you kidding me?
You're just trying the hardest.

Speaker 4 (20:29):
On the back man. I'm like, I'm like, I'm not.

Speaker 9 (20:35):
I'm not joking around with that.

Speaker 8 (20:36):
But but schedule wise, I'm getting ready for Q School,
so you know, final stage is coming up. I have
sixteen starts on corn Ferry next year, no matter what,
but top five in Q School gets me my card back.

Speaker 9 (20:50):
So working towards that.

Speaker 8 (20:53):
Been working really hard with Jason Vale, been working really
hard with Brian Simmons my short game guy, and uh,
you know, I'm actually going to see Brian tomorrow morning,
so and then heading up there and then heading up there.

Speaker 6 (21:06):
So.

Speaker 9 (21:07):
But from top to bottom it's been a lot better.

Speaker 8 (21:09):
I feel like my game is trending in a great direction.
I think I've shot over par like three times in
the last month.

Speaker 9 (21:16):
And a half. So keep that up and we'll be
in good shape.

Speaker 4 (21:21):
I love it.

Speaker 7 (21:21):
Can share some of those details at the alum with
us during your striking clinic, Yes, no question about it.

Speaker 1 (21:27):
I'd have to imagine that practicing putting for long stretches
at time can be difficult on the back.

Speaker 2 (21:34):
No, yes.

Speaker 4 (21:36):
For me or him exactly.

Speaker 1 (21:41):
Yeah, you're twelve minutes tops if that.

Speaker 8 (21:45):
Yeah, she hits three putts and she's like, that's about it.
I'm good, No, it's it's It's interesting. My putting practice
has gotten, I guess, more lucrative in the sense of,
like I cannot sit there and stand over a putt
and hit it one hundred times in a row from

(22:07):
three feet I'll feel like I'm going into traction.

Speaker 9 (22:09):
Right, So moving.

Speaker 8 (22:12):
Around, hitting a few chips in between, doing certain things
to keep my spine not in the same position for
an extended amount of time. I found, like I said,
ways around it where my body really doesn't hurt at
the end of putting practice.

Speaker 9 (22:31):
So it did for a while until I kind of
figured out.

Speaker 8 (22:34):
How to do it, and actually, over the last probably
month and a half, I've kind of figured out a
routine with it that has made a lot more.

Speaker 9 (22:42):
Sense and it's much more efficient too.

Speaker 8 (22:45):
You know, I check my couple boxes per day where
I know I'm setting up the same I know I'm
kind of looking the same way that I want to look.
That's kind of another thing that I trying to train
my eyes a little bit more so. It's it's been interesting,
but it's amazing how much less pain I'm in compared

(23:08):
to honestly the rest of the year.

Speaker 4 (23:12):
Besides, it's beautiful. Well, we know you're excited to get
up here. We're excited to get you up here.

Speaker 10 (23:17):
We know.

Speaker 4 (23:17):
Uh, it's always fun to get back up to this area,
play a little golf and looking forward to it.

Speaker 6 (23:23):
Man, Yeah, you guys are going to play a little
golf too.

Speaker 9 (23:24):
Yeah, I'm looking forward to Sunday. How many am I
getting too? And two?

Speaker 4 (23:29):
Yeah, yeah, that should be good.

Speaker 1 (23:32):
Moves.

Speaker 6 (23:32):
I'll have to help you with the negotiating skills.

Speaker 4 (23:34):
Well, I'm playing from the ladies tas, so it doesn't matter. Williams.

Speaker 9 (23:39):
Yeah, listen Danielle's negotiating skills.

Speaker 8 (23:43):
They're just being as annoying as you possibly can until
you get a yes from the other side and then
you're good.

Speaker 4 (23:50):
All right, we'll talk, Danielle, we'll talk beforehand.

Speaker 6 (23:52):
I got your moves.

Speaker 4 (23:55):
Yeah, it's not gonna be A'm not gonna be emasculating
at all playing with Wes and Brandon, right, yeah.

Speaker 9 (24:00):
Yeah, it's gonna be fun.

Speaker 4 (24:02):
Buddy.

Speaker 9 (24:03):
Thanks guys for having me on.

Speaker 8 (24:04):
As always, I'm looking forward to seeing you guys this weekend,
looking forward to getting back up to Philly.

Speaker 4 (24:08):
So absolutely seeing a couple of days.

Speaker 9 (24:10):
All right, see you guy, a couple of days.

Speaker 4 (24:11):
Appreciate itful, See you. Danielle. You want to spill some
some tea.

Speaker 6 (24:17):
For the for the folks here, Yeah, let's get into it. Okay,
switch over here.

Speaker 7 (24:23):
So obviously we talked about corn Ferry promotion, so a
wave of names heading to the PGA Tour next season
and then obviously a few returning, but Johnny Keefer headlining.

Speaker 6 (24:33):
That was the Austin Smotherman is going back.

Speaker 7 (24:36):
We mentioned Hank was going back, sh Kim and then
Davis Chatfield. I mean there's a list of names, a
big mix of first timers, returns, some comeback stories.

Speaker 6 (24:46):
Neil Shipley from Ohio, the Ohio State standout.

Speaker 7 (24:49):
From full time, from going from you know, collegiate to
full time PGA tour member in less than a year.
So I think he's on a lot of people's radar
to keep it I on this upcoming season.

Speaker 1 (25:02):
He's a very likable personality kind of he is just.

Speaker 6 (25:05):
That what was it the interview after the Masters.

Speaker 1 (25:10):
In the ping commercials already.

Speaker 6 (25:11):
So he's jes like, do I talk? Do I not talk?

Speaker 4 (25:14):
Am I allowed?

Speaker 6 (25:17):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (25:17):
He went to m you two before Ohio State. If
they're jam you people listening, they will feel slighted because okay,
they spent three.

Speaker 7 (25:26):
Years James Madison University. Okay, both of them. So we're
going to cover it all there and then too. The
Skins game is back entertaining, Yes, Harry reboot, reboot if
you will, It's returning on Black Friday. It is going
to be on Prime Video. So the lineup is Tommy Fleetwood,
Keek and Bradley, Justin Thomas and Xander Schoffley no appearance fees,

(25:50):
which is probably.

Speaker 6 (25:51):
Why I can't play. Isn't playing in it? But four
players four million dollars on the line. So do you guys?

Speaker 7 (25:57):
There used to be this, like used to be a
for all the major winners at the end of each year,
like the PGA Grand Slam of Golf that ran from
like nineteen seventy nine to twenty fourteen.

Speaker 6 (26:08):
Shells A Wonderful World of Golf.

Speaker 7 (26:09):
That husband that makes me watch all the time, like
it's his go to.

Speaker 2 (26:13):
They should, but.

Speaker 4 (26:14):
They should put the old production back in the should
that was so coot?

Speaker 6 (26:19):
But did you see the promotions They kind of us
like that old school. So if they.

Speaker 4 (26:22):
Add that, I think Chad Mum's involved in that, right, yeah, right.

Speaker 7 (26:27):
Because at first I was like, wait, it is this
not on Netflix because Chad's involved?

Speaker 1 (26:30):
But Freddie Couples has to make an appearance somewhere along
the line too.

Speaker 7 (26:34):
See, there's a couple of things that we have to
pull in from, you know, the old school. Like you said,
the old production, but the promos for it did have
that old production aspect, so maybe, you know, maybe we
need to get Chad on here and ask him for so, yeah,
some update.

Speaker 1 (26:48):
On that was always like a Thanksgiving time tradition along
with football and you know all the other sports stuff
that goes on.

Speaker 2 (26:55):
It was. It was a really big deal for sure.

Speaker 4 (26:59):
Back then you didn't get to see guys exactly like
singularly focused like now it's like, yeah, you can't get
out the way.

Speaker 6 (27:06):
Of them, but in just this exhibition style.

Speaker 7 (27:09):
You know, I feel like if you know, if the
tour went in this direction even for you know, a
tournament or two, like the way they could draw viewership
and just make it so intriguing, you know, like I
guess TGL is kind of you.

Speaker 1 (27:20):
Know yeah, yeah was indoor. Yeah, this is you know,
they usually play this in like Arizona or someplace nice.

Speaker 6 (27:28):
And it's just once and a lot of money on
the line. It's cool, you know.

Speaker 7 (27:33):
Yeah, but excited to see that come back. And then
speaking of TGL. TGL is back for season two. So
it kicks off Sunday, December twenty eighth, and locally, did
your Links team.

Speaker 1 (27:45):
Yeah, it's earlier than last year, it is.

Speaker 7 (27:48):
Yeah, did you put our links team locally? I wonder
if other cities are doing this too, because I just
saw it pop up on my social and some friends
doing it like full blown grassroots marketing, like they were
at this local bar and like Avacola the other day,
handing out merch like if you make a putt, you
get a sweatshirt, Like if you make the further putt,
you get, you know, a sweatshirt.

Speaker 6 (28:06):
Whatever. Meeting fans like you.

Speaker 7 (28:09):
Can tell increase, like they're really taking it, stepping it
up a notch, really trying to get you know, more
of the community involved, getting people to come out, fill
the stands and you know, build that intrigue if you will.
So I wonder if Boston, in LA and everywhere else
is kind of doing that.

Speaker 2 (28:26):
Yeah, I mean you live down near there. What does
it cost to attend like if.

Speaker 6 (28:31):
A leg it does, right, Yeah it does. It's not cheap.

Speaker 7 (28:34):
I think like, uh, you know, if you don't know
somebody and you're getting a ticket, I think you're probably
looking at like what a bird's game would cost or
something like for noseblades. I think the cheapest and I
could be wrong, I could be miss speaking, but I
think the cheapest ticket you can probably get is like
one hundred and fifty bucks for one, and.

Speaker 1 (28:50):
The cocktails probably aren't cheapy.

Speaker 6 (28:52):
Yeah, eight dollars for a bottle of water and like
sixteen for a year.

Speaker 1 (28:56):
Probably it's not like the Masters.

Speaker 6 (28:58):
Yeah, the year is.

Speaker 7 (29:00):
Not Harry, So maybe I'll have to get over there
and check out some of the prices and see what
it's like. But that's back, like I said, December twenty eighth.

Speaker 2 (29:09):
Cool.

Speaker 7 (29:10):
Yeah, yeah, so a lot of cool things coming up.
Kapalua is officially out the PGA torquing firm. The Century
won't be played there this year because the ongoing water
dispute and Maui. So if you've seen the photos, of course,
it's more like a Muni than now.

Speaker 2 (29:23):
It's going dry.

Speaker 6 (29:24):
Yeah. Yeah, it's shocking.

Speaker 2 (29:28):
It's almost gray. It looks great.

Speaker 6 (29:30):
It looked like there was like an apocalypse.

Speaker 5 (29:33):
You know.

Speaker 4 (29:33):
It's funny. Our our friend Corey Riley from Five Iron,
who will actually be at the outing on Monday, he
gets home from his honeymoon, I believe on Saturday. He's
in Hawaii and he's in Maui and they had golf
scheduled at Kapolua from because they booked it eight months ago. Yeah,
years ago, and they had not they had to cancel.
They had they had a player say you.

Speaker 6 (29:52):
Don't want to pay five hundred and fifty dollars to play.

Speaker 4 (29:55):
That He was super bummed.

Speaker 6 (29:56):
But yeah, yeah, that's tough.

Speaker 4 (29:58):
Interested to talk to him about. You know what he
saw down their first hand.

Speaker 6 (30:01):
We see what it looks what it looks like.

Speaker 1 (30:03):
Yeah, they haven't said where they're going to play it,
Like Las Vegas might be a spot. I think they
might go to Palm Desert, to one of the other
courses in Palm Desert because they express no, I mean
Las Vegas I think would be good because the TPC
course typically hosts an event.

Speaker 2 (30:24):
They don't they're not.

Speaker 1 (30:25):
Going to was that that's uh no, that's a shadow creek.

Speaker 6 (30:30):
Yeah, that's the little spot. But I mean if it
can hold an event, well let's keep it a little Philly.

Speaker 7 (30:37):
I saw Jason Kelcey, he made some noise at TPC
Sawgrass a couple of weeks ago. He uh conquered the
uh the island green on.

Speaker 4 (30:46):
Seventeen Kelsey fatigue.

Speaker 7 (30:49):
Well, hey, after after all, I don't even want to
talk about the Phillies. I don't want to talk about
the birds, right, now, so I figured this was, you know,
an old bird or retired bird that we could maybe
you know, mention that Harry doesn't talk about him enough, so.

Speaker 6 (31:01):
We needed to just bring it up one more time.
All right, we'll get off that quick, Harry.

Speaker 7 (31:07):
Finally Tiger would, yes, man, what this man has been through?
I mean, he almost has as many surgeries as he
does wins. He announced on Saturday that he underwent another
back surgery, un the last.

Speaker 4 (31:19):
Time he's been pain free. Brandon just mentioned a guy
like Tiger got like.

Speaker 7 (31:24):
I cannot imagine this poor man, And like I said,
announced on Saturday, he underwent another back surgery, a lumbard
disc replacement on his L four L five spine to
deal with pain and loss of mobility. So no uh
PNC with Charlie, which now I kind of wanted to see.
But it's his second back surgery in just over a year,

(31:45):
and this comes after his achilles repair earlier this spray.
So this is what three surgeries in like a year,
And Tiger said, I already know I made.

Speaker 6 (31:53):
A good decision for my health and my back.

Speaker 7 (31:55):
You know, at this part, at this point, it's hard
to imagine, like, you know, if if we're going to
see him play again, and.

Speaker 1 (32:03):
He always seems to have these surgeries right around this
time of the year when you're like thinking, well, if
he wants to play in the Masters, that might be
off the table.

Speaker 2 (32:11):
Now.

Speaker 1 (32:12):
He turns fifty in seventy five days, and there was
a lot of anticipation that he might have played maybe
in some Champions Tour events to sort of, you know,
give that some juice in the months of January February
after he turns fifty. But that's got to be off
the table now too.

Speaker 6 (32:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (32:28):
I mean, I just feel like Tiger being Tiger, that
we definitely are going to see him again. I just
don't feel like, you know, he'll never play again. But
I mean that's I'm not saying he should. I just
don't feel like I feel like he's going to make
an appearance in something.

Speaker 4 (32:42):
Yeah, yeah, you know, absolutely, Yeah.

Speaker 6 (32:45):
But that's the tea brought to you by where SPF.

Speaker 7 (32:47):

football or just running around town, you still need protection

at resistant and keeps you skin safe year round. Check
them out and order yours today at war SPF dot com.
That's where SPF dot com beautiful.

Speaker 4 (33:11):
All right, So let's talk about the golf, Harry. I'll
start with you because I got to hear from Danielle
second here about the lessons and where it things hurame.
My golf game has been non existent. I played nine
holes at spring Mill last week and I played Legacy
maybe like the week before. But I haven't been getting
out there, how about you?

Speaker 2 (33:31):
Not as much?

Speaker 1 (33:32):
I played on Saturday and want to skin and you
know in this group that we get a bunch of
guys together. So I got my money back in a
little bit more so that was That was nice, but
not not a whole lot of golf. There's been a
bunch of events at our at our place, I believe
it or not. And I did not do the Ironomic

(33:52):
thing because I was on the radio that day. I
was scheduled to be on the radio and a fanatic
and it rained. Monday was awful day weather day. I'm
so glad I wasn't able to go because it would
have been miserable, even even if it being at Ironomic.
It still would have been miserable with that weather.

Speaker 4 (34:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (34:10):
Uh so, you know, really not as much as I
had hoped. I'm looking to get out on uh on
Saturday morning with a couple of a couple of guys
at the nineteen twelve club.

Speaker 2 (34:19):
And then looking forward to the outing.

Speaker 1 (34:21):
Man, I'm gonna I'm gonna get a lesson I believe
from mister Saraki at eight a m.

Speaker 2 (34:28):
On the range.

Speaker 1 (34:29):
I'm getting down there around seven forty five.

Speaker 6 (34:32):
Right before we go.

Speaker 2 (34:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (34:34):
Yeah, I'll be setting up tents and stuff and Harry,
you know, getting a lesson, and then there's nice and
then it's great teamwork here and then you unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (34:43):
Well we are.

Speaker 1 (34:43):
Podcast at nine thirty, right, I gotta get this done.

Speaker 4 (34:47):
Don't worry about it. Hair, Yeah, I got your cover brother,
and then.

Speaker 6 (34:51):
He's gonna ask you for two strokes.

Speaker 4 (34:53):
Mass Danielle talk about But last time we talked, I
guess it was probably too weeks ago. You had just
taken I believe, your first lesson with Mike rad Who
are you taking?

Speaker 6 (35:05):
You're with Mike Milisia y Yeah, and I see Harry's watching.

Speaker 1 (35:09):
This stuff on Instagram. Is spectacular.

Speaker 6 (35:12):
Thank you.

Speaker 7 (35:13):
Yeah, I saw you commented on to get more power.
I was like, thanks, Harry's watching this stuff. I love it,
so appreciate that. But yeah, so I'm this. I'm on
the books every Friday at nine am for a lesson recurring.
So you know, we dove in quickly. I mean I've
been waiting to do this forever and we're there. Speaking

(35:34):
of bad weather. The course is down here. Actually we're
closed for two days. We got seven inches of rain.
So my lesson last Friday, Adamals was closed as well
as Old Palm Turtle everywhere around here and Mike took
a picture of you know, I was indoors heading from
the bay and we took a picture.

Speaker 6 (35:51):
There was just standing water everywhere.

Speaker 7 (35:53):
He said, in all my years of being here teaching,
I've never seen the course like this before.

Speaker 6 (35:58):
Like it was wild. We got such weather, so I
guess it kind of went up and down the coast.

Speaker 1 (36:02):
But yeah, a couple of weeks then yeah, but no,
I'm serious, Daniel, I'm not blowing smoke. He is really
good at the Instagram stuff. He's he's succinct. You know,
it's really good.

Speaker 2 (36:18):
I watch a lot of this stuff. He's good.

Speaker 7 (36:20):
Yeah, the guys I work with, I'm pretty lucky because
they're kind of one take wonders.

Speaker 6 (36:24):
You know, we go over the topics.

Speaker 7 (36:27):
I tell him some ideas that I think would work well,
that people would watch, it'd be cool, and I kind
of give them, you know, a sample script and say, hey,
let's roll into it. But you know, Mike played on
tour before, and one thing I love about him is
he loves to hit a shot because he says, you know,
a lot of coaches are a coach, but it's.

Speaker 6 (36:44):
Like, you know, it's like, let's see, have you played
before you.

Speaker 7 (36:50):
That's why a lot of people like like facts on
the broadcast because he's played before over like Brandle, you
know what I mean. So from Lizzie, he takes pride
that he's played before, and he loves that he can
still hit a shot, and he loves saying like, look like,
I've done this before. So here I'm telling you from experience,
and then I'm gonna hit the shop to show you,
like how it's actually done, and then I can do it.
But talking about my lessons, it's funny because when I

(37:12):
a billion years ago and Brandon I first went to
the range with him, he I. You know, I tried
hitting a couple of balls and I'm fine, like I'm
athletic enough to make contact.

Speaker 6 (37:20):
But you know, he took away the ball from me
at one point, so just hit the tee and I'm like, like,
who are you? What do you mean?

Speaker 7 (37:26):
I can't have the ball, And actually like it made sense,
and Mike like he stripped me down.

Speaker 6 (37:31):
He said.

Speaker 7 (37:32):
You know the Korean girls, he goes, they don't get
a ball for like a year, Like they make sure
they're dialed in on everything. He said, but if we
talk off like that, way not be out of business.
So we're working on fundamentals, set up everything else.

Speaker 6 (37:45):
You know.

Speaker 7 (37:45):
Obviously I'm not like you know, Brandon, but my my
body would even hurt a little bit when I was,
you know, playing golf because I just had this. I
had a terrible setup. And then, like I said, I
just used my athleticism to hit the ball. So I'm
falling over and turning and I'm coming up and all
that's gone.

Speaker 6 (38:01):
So you guys are going to see, you know, I
new and improved Danielle.

Speaker 1 (38:04):
Wow, Hopefully as always it.

Speaker 6 (38:07):
Doesn't like fall apart on.

Speaker 2 (38:08):
Like and I go back to my old stuff.

Speaker 6 (38:11):
I know.

Speaker 7 (38:12):
But one thing that's really helped me is that he
tells me like, it's not a swing thought, it's a
swing feel. So when we switch something around, he'll be like,
how does that feel? And I'll take my time and
I'll stand there for a second and say, like, think
about it and memorize that in my body, how it feels,
where my weight distribution is, where my hip is, where
my hands are, how I'm pivoting.

Speaker 6 (38:32):
Et cetera. So, Harry, I'll text a couple of things
we've been working on.

Speaker 1 (38:35):
I heard, oh boy, this is serious stuff.

Speaker 7 (38:39):
Now, yeah, it's but and he and he sends me like,
you know, a breakdown of me on you know, on
the swing cat and you know he uses the uh
I'm drawing a blank like the AI technology to to
put like a three D body next to me and
show me where I'm from.

Speaker 6 (38:54):
And I mean, I got it all dialed.

Speaker 4 (38:56):
So yeah, I love it. I love it. Well, we're
going to we're gonna see it in person one day,
and we have so much good stuff going on. Uh
first of all our friends. What's funny is Wes always
needs extra balls, right because he's out there on fourteen
and he's just sending them and he's a hit another
one and is mashing them mashing. So we're actually gonna
have our friends from buy my Balls are going to

(39:18):
bring them. And the best part about it is people
are gonna be go buy my We're gonna have world
long drive sending buy my balls and watch how far
these damn things go and how straight they go, just
like every other brand new golf ball that you're ever
paying for. So tee off with top tier golf balls
without the top tier price. Buy my balls dot com,
top quality, recycled premium brands for a fraction of the price.
Go to buy my balls dot com. That's balls with

(39:39):
a Z and you'll see it firsthand with with Wes
on Monday. So yeah, we are. This is like, you know,
the next couple of days when I just had the
last couple of tinkers right cut, last couple of foursomes,
and I'm trying to fit the jigsaw puzzle who's you
know and who's out? And then just the finalization of
the activations and sponsors. But new this year, we are
gonna have a silent off. Met some great folks Jamie

(40:02):
Brewer and her husband that are going to run the
auction for us. They're gonna bring a lot of the items,
but we got a couple of really cool things our
friends at Hammock Beach. There's two prizes for Hammock Beach
in the outing for the for the for the winners.
But there's another one that's going to be in the
silent auction for a day three night round of golf

two rounds of golf, one of each of the course,
and and airfare in and out of Jacksonville as a package.

Speaker 6 (40:51):

that's nice. That's a good one.

Speaker 4 (40:56):
And then this I'm not quite sure. I'm waiting to
see if a couple of the things come in. I
don't know if it's going to be a silent auction
item or if it's going to be a prize for
one of the contests. But our friend Ken Phillips has
graciously offered to host three guys out at Lancaster Country
Glove Harry and Cover lunch and everything and play around
next next year with the president of the Golf Association
in Philadelphia. You talk about a day that's that's a

(41:20):
day I think that might have to be a silent auction.

Speaker 6 (41:23):
That might be it might be too good.

Speaker 4 (41:29):
Yeah, and then also when we check in, yes, I
mean tremendous guy, anyone that that purchases any merch We
have signed Caddy Shack and signed Bush Bushwood flags from
Chevy Chase that we're that we're raffling off to them. Obviously,
we'll have Wes like we just talked about and Brandon
on the range of this year helping people out taking

(41:50):
a look, doing a little clinic out there, which which
would be a lot of fun. We talked about Stretch Zone,
the Kibbets Room once again, we'll be having this is
more of a brunch because we're starting early.

Speaker 1 (42:00):

of course you have Tito's. They're stepping up this year.
Their bar is going to be even more expanded out
on the course. It's a huge I know. Yeah, So
Tito's will be out there, which is tremendous.

Speaker 4 (42:36):
Guy still gonna still gonna be in that in that
same area. There's a lot that goes on your hearts
will be there chipping. Yeah that I think that's gonna
move over to to eight this year. We're moving some
stuff around.

Speaker 2 (42:50):

Speaker 4 (42:54):
And now there's pickleball court you have to deal with
on the love really yeah, and our friends from Tone

Fuego and Freshies. They are the official beer sponsor, and
they are, you know, loading us up for the entire outing.

about our friends from Buy My Balls Closest to the
pin On seventeen winner gets a spot to play with

(44:18):

a date to be determined cool. So that's going to
be a blast. Our friends from Parks Casino, if you
remember the vent Triloquist that was out last year, he'll
be back with the back Off Challenge, messing with people
as the as the t Off that'll be on number one.
We talked about Corey. That'll be out there. Angelo's Pizzeria

Speaker 7 (47:06):
This year, this year, maybe I'll lay off the moose
punch and I'll play from the women's teas instead of
junior's teas. I literally like, they're both like oranges red,
but nobody like. And then I said, remember, like I
had a confession like three after I go, you guys,
I don't know if I actually won the long drive
because I hit from the junior's tea. But like, the
juniors are deep orange and then the women's are red

(47:28):

Speaker 2 (47:29):
And the one.

Speaker 4 (47:33):

It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life.
