Speaker 1 (00:00):
A lot of people who love it because look at
the fame that these two individuals have. Now. With Travis Kelcey,
it's because he's an NFL tight end who has won
a bunch of Super Bowls and arguably one of the
best that's ever played at his position. And with Taylor Swift,
she's a musician who, of course has I think right
now maybe the biggest following than anybody in music. So

(00:22):
they're famous in their own right. But now they're they're
an item, and they're going to get married. And if
you've been annoyed by the coverage of this relationship, just
be prepared. It's now hitting a different level. There's going
to be talk about the marriage, are they going to
have kids, if there's any drama, if there's any like
breakup situation. I mean, that's gonna be covered, probably more
than anything that's been covered with these two up to

(00:44):
this point, So dire big news.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Do you ever wonder what makes him? I mean, obviously
they have their own reasons, so maybe a too broad
of a question, but you know, do maybe sometimes couples
get married for financial reasons, not that they need the
money or or get married because they want to feed
the ego these two.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
And again I'm very I'm a big believer in marriage,
and you know, I don't judge people who want to,
I mean, do what you want. If you want to
strave with somebody for forty years and you both just
agree we don't need to have the piece of paper
that says we're married, then cool? Do you I don't.
I mean, that's that's your choice. But with these two,
you know, what are they really you know, I guess

(01:24):
it's just because they are taking a step in their relationship.
But I mean, they clearly don't need one another when
it comes to financial situation. Obviously, she's probably I mean,
she's worth more. But he's also a guy that has
made a ton of money in the NFL and made
a ton of money in endorsements, and I believe his
latest podcast deal was a record as far as what
him and his brother are getting paid for that. So yeah,

(01:46):
I mean, I guess it's just their next step in
their in their marriage. But obviously there are some people
who want to get married to a celebrity because they're
not quite the level of celebrity as that person, and
they realize making it officials just going to I guess
further give the give them fame. But the question I've
asked this morning, what celebrity couples can come close to

(02:07):
what these two have done as far as just the
attention that they get every little thing they do. And again,
as we've talked through it, to me, it's it's it's
pretty clear that there are other celebrity couples that might
have gotten this kind of attention if if it was
at this time where we have access to celebrities like
we do with the Internet and social media and TMZ.
You know, back in the day, that wasn't a thing.

(02:27):
So I think timing is a big factor. But you've
got Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston, Kurt Cole Bay and Courtney Love,
Tom Cruse, Nicole Kidman, David and Victoria Beckham. I didn't
mention this one, but Prince Charles and Princess Diana that
that is, that is that's a different you know, that's
a different type of thing. But clearly that that that
got a lot of attention for for obvious reason. And

(02:48):
then Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe. That's one that that
that Scott mentioned, which is certainly up there, and then uh,
there's others that that clearly, you know, just you forget
about because they're not you know, maybe they're not together anymore.
In fact, a lot of these a lot of these
couples aren't couples anymore. But I just think that the
there's just the coverage of this has been a real

(03:09):
reminder that, yeah, when when celebrities get together, it's gonna
it's gonna be gossipy, it's gonna be news, it's gonna
be talked about, there's gonna be interest from their fans.
But this is just that times a billion. It seems like, could.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
You imagine being their wedding planet or the pressure you're
gonna be under, and could you imagine what wedding day
is going to be like? Think about that, not even
just from maybe a caterer standpoint, think of how chaotic
a small wedding is for a family or an average
size wedding. Take this one to the next level and
talk about catering, talk about security, talk about the logistics

(03:42):
of everything. I mean, can you imagine the people that
are gonna be involved in this?

Speaker 1 (03:47):
What if? What if Taylor Swift asks Travis Kelsey to
sign a prenup Oh, good question.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
I mean, well, yeah, you wouldn't do it vice versa
because she doesn't need his money.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
She doesn't need his money and he doesn't need But yeah,
I think the whole prenup situation is fascinating because I
get why people would be offended if they were asked
to sign one. I get why people ask their potential
uh spouse to ask to get white. I get, I
get both sides of it. Like it's it's a tricky situation.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
Well, just see some of the new dating apps even
come with a place where you can ask for a
credit report.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
Yeah, I mean, like if you're dating and your financial
status and that, I feel like if that's a component,
and look, I get it, Like, let's be honest, people
who clearly work low end jobs that that that just
don't necessarily appear to be in the higher end of society.
They're not. They're probably not getting hit up NonStop for
women that want to be with them, or maybe the

(04:47):
other way around. So you know, I could live in
a world where that shouldn't matter, but let's just be real,
we're humans. It does matter, So you know, I guess
I'm not surprised that now with all the different, you know,
really with just advanced technology including dating apps, that they're
now going to run it credit check on you and
see if you qualified to you know, to hit the
swipe or pass profiles of women that are looking.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
Could you imagine if they posted like your credit score,
because I've heard horror stories about that, people that were
in credit problems financial oh us that married they didn't
tell the significant other until after they were married, and
then they found out they had like a, you know,
a five sixty five credit score and they were like, oh, okay,
didn't see that coming.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
Yeah, I mean, you really just never know. And these
conversations just make me really really appreciate my situation more
than I already did, just because you know, I would
probably be worried about certain things that you know, would
maybe turn off somebody that might have interest in me,
just because I mean, I got to protect myself, right, yep,
And that's what you should do. So anyways, I'm sure

(05:50):
there won't be a prenup, but man, if one of
them asks and this whole thing crumbles, I also, I
also don't think i'd be shocked.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
Man. Think about that, dude, that's a good point.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
We'll talk about that. A little more coming up a
little later with Rory O'Neill, who's going to join us
from NBC. But yeah, we've got an update of trafficking weather.
Hopefully the roadways are getting better. It has not been
a good morning when it comes to traffic, but Bobby
Ellison give us the latest of that right here, right
now on News Radio eight forty whs. It is eight
eighteen here on a Wednesday morning on News Radio eight
forty whas coffee and company with you. We've got a

(06:20):
busy rest of the way here, our last hour of
course before we hand it off to Tony and Dwight.
But we've got another traffick and update, another traffic and
weather update coming your way. Also another sports update coming
up soon and then Rory on Nail of NBC News
set to join us at eight thirty. We'll talk about
the big news of Travis Kelsey Taylor Swift. He's got
some insight as far as how that whole thing came together.
And we'll also tell you what you need to know

(06:41):
about the fear of AI taking your gig. But real quick,
before we get back to the traffic and weather updates,
shout out to this seventy eight year old woman by
the name of Jan Fletcher. So I actually saw this
over the weekend, and then I'm glad that it became
a story from our partners over there wl OK. Why
but Jan Fletcher, she's seventy eight years old and she

(07:04):
was assaulted on her front porch and the ring camera
on her front porch caught the whole thing. And I
saw this because I actually actually grew up, went to
middle school in high school with her granddaughter Jessica, and
Jessica talked to WLKY, but I saw Jessica post this,
and just again, it's something that there needs to be
awareness of as a young man, seemingly a child under

(07:25):
the age of eighteen. Maybe I'm wrong, but who came
up on her front porch and assaulted her and just
seemingly able to see that an older woman. I guess
maybe he thought was vulnerable and went up and just
put his hands on her and started groping her repeatedly
and aggressively until eventually she finally got upset enough to

(07:49):
where he did he did, I guess, get scared and
run away. But just I mean, just to see someone
violated like that by someone who clearly just has no
regard for humanity. Is it's a gross thing to visualize,
and I mean, we know what happens, unfortunately, but to
see it, it's just it's it's awful. But yeah, the

(08:09):
reason I'm giving her a shout out is because she's
not scared. She's seventy eight years old, and she was
clearly visibly upset about the whole thing, and she later
admitted that she was mad at herself. She blamed herself
in a way, but she's insisted her family's insisted to
her that she's done nothing wrong, which is the truth.
But she refuses to let fear dictate her life. Here's

(08:29):
a quote, you're not scared me. Every day that it's
nice weather, I'll be on my porch. So this is
in South Louisville. LMPD is investigating and they've yet to
identify or arrest anybody for this. But I mean, just
just be mindful of individuals who do this kind of stuff.
And shout out to seventy eight year old jan Fletcher
for not not letting fear keep her from enjoying probably

(08:53):
something that she really enjoys in her later years, sitting
on her front porch, when it's nice outside, especially at
a place that she's lived in for more than forty years.
She says, So again, I saw it just because I'm
friends with Jessica, and I just thought, man, that's awful.
But I'm glad that there's more awareness of it, and
I'm glad that she's letting those know that she's not
she's not going to be scared so much so that

(09:14):
she's not going to enjoy sitting on her porch anymore.
But yeah, it's one of the downsides of this side
of talk radio is just discuss things that are that
just remind you that there's this kind of stuff that
goes on in the world, but there's also good stuff
that goes on too. I should probably remind myself of
that more often than I do. All Right, we've got
good stuff coming your way. And update on the roadways
with Bobby Ellis. We'll see how the forecast is looking today,

(09:36):
and then of course another sports update coming up right
here on News Radio eight forty whas
