Speaker 1 (00:00):
He is back, the Good Greek Spiro. We you, of
course not have not gone anywhere, but no, we have
missed you here at w jno in our thrilled to
have you back and part of the team and to
be partnering with you and Spirou in particular with Good
Greek Moving and Storage. I am thrilled for you to
(00:20):
be a sponsor of protecting the Palm Beaches, where we
honor local heroes and we also highlight those who have
literally laid down their lives in the line of duty,
those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
Yes, thank you. It's first of all, it's flattering that
you thought of me, but it is appropriate, and I
thank you for that, and it's my honor to do it.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
When you say it's appropriate. Of course, long before we
knew the Good Greek Spiro and we've known for it
feels like decades now. It is about two, isn't it.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
Oh, it's you know. I'm in my twenty ninth year
in the moving business.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
It's incredible. It's incredible, and you know so much success.
And you know, my wife Ashley and May we are
in our dream home. You moved us there, of course,
I remember, Yeah, for sure, and so the Good Greek
Spureau will take care of you and your family and
as it retains the law enforcement. So before you're in
the moving business. Of course you were Miami Swat.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
Tell us about that the young Good Greek was a
police officer in North Miami. And yeah, as quickly as
I could, I wanted to get on that SWAT team.
That was my dream in police work, that is.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
And why in particular, when you say police work, there
are people that want to grow up and be cop.
Swat is a whole other level. Even on top of.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
That, Yeah, you know, look, I guess and whether I
knew it then or now now, I kind of know.
I do know now because I'm using these this mindset
in business, it's it's the pursuit of excellence, right, It's
it's being the best at whatever it is that you're doing.
If I was going to be a policeman, I want
to be the best policeman. Well what's the best the
elite military? Right, if you're in the military, you want
(01:50):
to be special forces. Again, if that's your pursuit, your
pursuit of excellence, I translated all that into business and
again I'm going to be a movie I got to
be the best mover. The people deserve it, the customers
deserve it.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
It is so well said. You know, I have a
saying that passion plus talent is unstoppable. You're like the
personification of that. I've never known a day with you
where you're not working towards making things better, making your
businesses better, making the experience better for customers, trying to
enhance everything that you do.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
But isn't that what we all should be doing in
everything in our lives every day? I mean, isn't it
that the point of our existence is to continue to
grow and expand. Right, everything is expanding in the universe.
We got to go along with it. Otherwise you get
left behind.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
And so as we take a look at you know,
what you bring to the community. You know, you are
involved with so many organizations, so many charities. You do
so much good work, not just taking great care of
all of your customers. Tell us about how you continue
to give back. Obviously you're not in North Miami squad anymore,
but you still give back on a daily basis.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
You know. And I had this conversation yesterday with another
fello at our company, who's the hired Sheriff's Office, Deputy lieutenant.
The same reason we want to give great customer service
is because of the same reason we want to be
police officers. You want to help people. And whether you're
helping people in your business or you're helping them, you know,
(03:17):
in a life threatening situation, what's the difference police work
was customer service, okay? And the good police officers are
the ones that solve problems okay. And you've got to
be a problem solver and a split second right. So
in business it's not much different. You got to do
the right thing. If you want to have a great reputation,
(03:38):
you want stability, a long standing stability in the community,
you've got to give back and you've got to be
a part of it.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
Spireau, the experience with you by far the best moving
experience my WiFi and I ever had. And you can
see the quality of the people that you bring to
the table and also the the you know, security and
everything else that goes along with taking care of people's possessions.
That that dedication, that that passion is part of your
(04:05):
philosophy top to bottom.
Speaker 2 (04:06):
It is you know, I you know, we put ourselves
out there in a bold way advertising wise and marketing
wise and even myself right. And when you do that,
you really got to stand behind what you say. And
so we attract like minded people. We want to screen
who works for us. We want to make sure that
they are going to do things the Good Greek way okay,
that they understand the mission and you know, and at
(04:29):
some point, if it's not for a particular individual, they
got to move on to their next you know, golden life.
But at Good Greek they're going to do it the
right way. That's just our mantra in Spirou.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
You know, having talked to many of your employees over
the years, there is a real commitment that you make
to them that you can tell as well. They're passionate
about you.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
Absolutely listen, we invest in these people, right. We have
an in house Superhero Movers academy where we teach them.
We don't just hire people assume they know what they're doing.
We show them the good Greek way to move furniture okay,
and how to protect people's prize possessions, and how to
behave and act and someone's home, right, these are important
little details. It's not just about driving that big old truck.
(05:14):
So yeah, they have to represent good Greek, the good
Greek way.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
Now I've been remiss. I don't think I've ever asked
you for your most intense, insane, whatever kind of swat story.
Go ahead and give us.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
A far roy jeez. Wow. Well, you know, look, probably
some of the most dangerous situations are domestic situations where
you know, the person who's kind of gone off the
deep end takes the entire family hostage, right, And so
that was a tough one. I don't want to go
(05:47):
into gory details, but let's just say it was you know,
kids and mother and all that involved. So that was
that was one of the tough ones, you know, to witness.
But look, it's the job and and you know, you
you you learn from it. You it molds you. You know,
I see the world through different eyes, and you know,
(06:07):
maybe that's why I handle business with such extreme urgency,
because for me, it's all life and death.
Speaker 1 (06:14):
And that I think it is, in a nutshell, is
why Spiro is the man he is and why we
all benefit from good Greek movement in storage and everything
that you're involved with. Thank you for all that you do.
May God bless you and your entire team. Thank you
