Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, Joel Malcolm Ford WJNO dot com. My election spotlight

(00:03):
is on the race for Congressional District twenty one Palm
Beach County and the Treasure Coast. And this is a
district currently held by Brian Mast and he is being
challenged in a Republican primary by the gentleman we have
on the line now, Rick Wilds. And then there is
a Democrat and an NPA candidate that one of these

(00:26):
two will face in November. Mister Wiles, thank you for
joining me. Yes, sir, all right, so let's get some
background on you. Let's just start right there for folks
that may not be familiar with you.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
I live in Fort Pierce. I'm a businessman and retired pastor,
a pastor for several decades, owns several companies, a media company.
I also own American Reserves dot com, which is an
emergency food preparedness company. And you know my background has

(01:02):
been in digital media and Christian ministry for many years.
My wife, Susan and I have been married for fifty years.
We have two children, a son in Palm Palm City,
a daughter in Fort Pierce, and ten grandchildren, eight of
them are adopted.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
All right, have you ever run for office before? Here
or anywhere else?

Speaker 2 (01:28):
Many decades ago? I was born and raised in Maryland,
and I don't know. Thirty five years ago, I almost
was elected to the Maryland State Legislature. I was trailing
by ten votes when I went to bed that night.
But that's the only other time.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
Wow, I was a close one. Huh. So what made
you decide you wanted to? And there may be more
than one reason, but what made you? What was the
impetus behind wanting to challenge the incumbent Republican?

Speaker 2 (02:00):
I had no plans whatsoever to run for Congress. However,
one day on a Saturday afternoon, sitting on my patio,
I received a push notification from a news outlet and
the headline said Florida congressman wears foreign military uniform to

(02:21):
Congress and I was stunned. I opened up the app
to see who it was, and it was Brian Mass
and he was wearing an Israeli military uniform inside the
US Congress. And I was absolutely stunned by the photograph.
I began researching mister Mass and discovered that he had

(02:46):
joined the Israeli Army before he was elected to Congress
in twenty sixteen, and he regularly travels to Israel to
participate to participate in IDF military activities, and I just
was again, I was so stunned. I just couldn't believe
that a number of the US Congress would join a

(03:11):
foreign army and dare to wear a foreign army uniform
inside Congress. I can only imagine what General Patton would
say to Brian Mass if he saw him in a
foreign military uniform. And that was the beginning for me.
I began doing more research from mister Mass and I

(03:31):
realized he was not the guy I thought I voted for.
I voted for him in twenty twenty two, and I
donated to his campaign, But the more I learned about
in the less I could support him.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
I wanted to ask you, you know, in kind of
researching you a little bit, and what I saw there
was a lot of media types that will label you
anti Semitic, anti Israel. So I wanted to give you
an opportunity to address that based on your stances, and
we could talk more about your stances. I know I've

(04:06):
read that you don't think we should be giving money
as a country to Israel. Love to get your thoughts
on any of our other allies as far as Ukraine
and whatnot as well. But so I wanted to give
you a chance to address the claims that you may
be anti Semitic or anti Israel, or maybe both.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Criticizing the state of Israel is the third Rael. In
American politics, you are not allowed to criticize the state
of Israel. And I have criticized Israel. That does not
make me anti Jewish. It just makes me critical of
a country called Israel. They have a very good propaganda

(04:47):
operation inside the USA, a very well organized lobby, and
they insulate themselves from being criticized. However, I have the
right to speak my mind and I have, and in
the past, you know, you know, I've been severely criticized

(05:07):
for daring to point out anything wrong with American policy
towards Israel. In regards to the wars, I'm opposed to
funding any foreign war. If I went to Congress, I
would cut off money for all foreign wars. If another

(05:28):
country wants to have a war, let them pay for
it themselves, let their soldiers fight it. Don't get America
involved in your fights. So I've been against the war
in Ukraine from the beginning, and I'm against sending tens
of billions of dollars to Israel. I am very pro Palestinian.
That does not make you a supporter of Hamas. That

(05:50):
makes you supporter of the Palestinian people, who I believe
are probably the most oppressed people on the planet right now.
But did they did?

Speaker 1 (06:02):
From what I understand, they those people actually voted for Hamas,
which is listed by the US as a terror group.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
Well then why did why did met Yahu's government fund
Hamas for ten years? Thirty million dollars per month for
ten years? Okay, I'll tell you why. Because for two reasons,
met Yahu needed a boogeyman, so he set up a
boogeyman and he funded it. Number two, he wanted to
divide the Palestinians. He did not want a Palestinian state.

(06:35):
He did not want the moderate Palestinians in the West
Bank to control Gaza, so he divided. It's the old
divide and conquer technique. So the net Yahoo government, over
a decade ago, literally funded Hamas. And this is not

(06:58):
a conspiracy theory. This is something that three US president
presidents signed off on. President Obama, President Trump, and President Biden.
All three administrations knew that Israel was funding Hamas. What
did net Yahu need on October seventh? He needed a war.

(07:22):
The people were his own people were turning against him.
They were having massive demonstrations in Israel. People were surrounding
his homes, not not Muslims, Jewish Israeli citizens who were
fed up with net Yahu. And every single week there
were these massive demonstrations demanding net Yahu's resignation. He needed

(07:46):
a war, and he got one, and he's about to
start another one. Uh, there's a this very week. There
are radical extremist Zionists who are attacking is rarely military basis.
And again listen to what I said. I didn't say
Muslim terrorists. I said Israeli Zionus our attacking is rarely

(08:10):
military basis. And mister Danyahu said yesterday perhaps it was today,
he said, Israel's not slipping into the abyss. We are
in the abyss. The idea of Commander said, we're bordering
on anarchy. He needs another war and that war's going

(08:33):
to be Hesbelah in Lebanon. And there's a serious possibility
that the United States will get involved in that war
because Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said today that if
Israel goes to war with Hesbelah, the US will enter
the war and support Israel.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
Do you think that should former President Trump get elected,
that that would happen because if it hadn't happened prior
to that, I'm saying because we didn't have any new
wars start during his four years in office, and.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
Another same thing would happen. I think the same thing
would happen for the next term of Donald Trump. National
nations and world leaders respect Donald Trump. It may not
be respected in the United States by a lot of people,
but he is respected by world leaders and they know
he means business. And I believe he would he would

(09:30):
maintain the peace he'll get, and he'll bring about an
end to the Ukraine War. And I believe he'll work
out a settlement with the Israelis and the Palestinians. We
were very close to it before he left the White House,
and we just went back to the same situation after
he left the White House. So I'm hoping that I'm

(09:53):
a Trump supporter. I hope he's back in the White House,
and I hope he's able to end the Ukraine War
and work out something between the Israelis in the Palestinians.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
Now, Trump is a supporter of Israel. You know, we
know about the Abraham apports and et cetera. But you know,
so that doesn't affect how you feel. You know, he
met with Nettan Yahou last week at mar A Lago.
None of that affects how your support for him.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
I think mister Trump needs some people around him who
present another perspective about the Middle East.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
Okay, And you feel like you could, I mean by
being in Congress, perhaps you could be somebody like that. Yes, sir, okay,
let's talk about I don't want to spend the whole
time talking about that. Wanted to get you on that,
so you could, you know, clear the air. So let's
talk about some other issues around the country. I know
inflation is something you know as one of your priorities

(10:52):
on your on your campaign page. So you know, tell
me your thoughts about how how do we bring it down.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
A stop massive government spending. Inflation is caused by government
debt and by irresponsible monetary policies that devalue the dollar.
I'm old enough that I remember a wave of inflation

(11:21):
that started in the nineteen seventies. I was a very
young man, just got married. I was twenty years old
when I got married, and so Gerald Ford was the president,
and we had a massive wave of inflation, and that
inflation lasted for fifteen years. It did not end until

(11:47):
the early years of George Herbert Walker Bush. It went
through several presidencies. And that inflation that started in the
mid seventies was caused by Lyndon Johnson's spending for the
Vietnam War and his war on poverty welfare programs, and

(12:08):
that unleashed a cycle of inflation. I think that we're
in another fifteen year cycle of stagflation, and this is
going to be going on into the late twenty thirties.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
You have a twelve point pledge, and I'm sure you'd
want to expand on that a little.

Speaker 2 (12:33):
Bit, yes, sir, Well, you know a common gripe among citizens.
People say people are in Congress for the money, and
for a large part that's true. And so I made
a pledge to the voters of District twenty one. It's
a twelve point plan. It's on my website, Rick Wills

(12:55):
twenty twenty four dot com. But I'll tell you the
key parts of it. I will opt out of the
one hundred and seventy four thousand dollars annual salary from
members of Congress. I will opt out of the Congressional
Retirement Program. I will not accept contributions from any political

(13:16):
action committees. I will not trade stocks and securities while
in the office of Representative. And I will only seek
three terms a total of six years. That's part of
my twelve point pledge. There is a voters known Yes.

Speaker 1 (13:35):
I'm sorry, there is a when you mentioned that part,
there is a term limit pledge that some many mostly
Republican candidates have been signing over the years. Have you
signed that or is this enough?

Speaker 2 (13:50):
It's not been presented to me. Okay, yeah it is.

Speaker 1 (13:54):
There is a pledge. I couldn't tell you how to
get it. But there's several candidates in different says this
time around. But even you know, even a couple of
years ago and four years ago have also they've signed
on to a term limit pledge. It says that they
you know, they want to commit to term limits, but
you know you have.

Speaker 2 (14:13):
Any I'm pledging you. I'm pledging three terms at the max,
a total of six years. Quite frankly, I can't imagine
spending more than six years of Washington, d C.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
So you wouldn't want to go. You wouldn't want to
run for.

Speaker 2 (14:28):
The Senate after that, I have I have no idea
because I didn't even think about running for the house.

Speaker 1 (14:35):
Gotcha.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
I'm at a stage. I'm at a stage in my
life where I have several companies. I've got a young
team that can manage the companies for me. I can
devote h six years of my life to serving the people,
and then I want to get back to Florida as
fast as I can. The scariest thing about this is
the thought of winning and having to spend time in Washington,

(14:59):
D C.

Speaker 1 (15:02):
There's no no place like Florida, is there?

Speaker 2 (15:06):
You got it? I love this place.

Speaker 1 (15:09):
Uh So, one more thing here, you know, with regard
to Congressman Mast, I know that I'm looking at your
page here and you have a little bit of a
you know, Congressman mast has in the past he's been
challenged by Republicans. I think every two years he gets challenged,
and a lot of them, you know. I talked to them,

(15:30):
and one of the things they bring up is the
gun control issue, where he did say he'd be okay
with the and these are my words, not his, but
with a ban on what people call assault weapons, which
is pretty a pretty vague term anyway, right, because you

(15:52):
could use a fork to assault somebody. But nonetheless, and
this came in the wake of Parkland, because we did
ask him about that when it was very early after
he made that statement. So what are your thoughts on
all of this.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
Brian Mass is a very strong proponent of a federal
ban on semi automatic rifles and shotguns. I compared his
gun control plan to the plan offered by California Governor Newsom,
and Gavin Newsom's plan is almost identical to Brian mass

(16:29):
gun control plan. They both want a federal ban on
semi automatics. They both want a federal law raising the
age limit to purchase firearms and ammo. They both want
universal background checks, even on private transactions. Gavin Newsom and
Brian Mass are twin brothers when it comes to gun control.

Speaker 1 (16:52):
All right, before we wrap up, I'm gonna you know,
and you've talked about some of this already, but I
always finished my election interviews with the question, in a nutshell,
why should folks choose Rick wilds, both now in August
and come November.

Speaker 2 (17:10):
I have twenty five years experience hosting a news program.
I specialize in national international issues. I'm not going to
go to Washington as a novice. I will have a
firm grasp of national issues. I've been fighting for America's
sovereignty for twenty five years as a broadcaster. I was

(17:33):
a leader twenty five years ago against the North American Union,
which was a plan to merge the United States, Canada,
and Mexico. People talk about the border crisis, there really
isn't a border crisis because there's no border. What the
American people don't realize is the globalists erased our border.

(17:55):
They eliminated the border, and when we talk about securing
the border, their respond in private meetings is we will
never let you have a border again. Their plan is
to merge North America, and that plan is still active,
and we need people in Washington who understand what the

(18:15):
globalists are doing. President Trump took me twice to Davils
World Economic Forum, and I was inside the World Economic Forum.
I saw Klaus Swab, I saw Bill Gates, I saw
all the world leaders, and I saw Donald Trump confront
the world leaders and defend America. And so I would

(18:37):
be a very strong voice for America if I were
given the honor of serving in the House of Representatives.

Speaker 1 (18:47):
All right, well, I appreciate you taking the time to
talk to us, and more importantly to talk to the
Republican voters in District twenty one candidate in the Republican
primary and Brian mass challenger Rick Wiles, thanks once again
for joining me.

Speaker 2 (19:03):
