(00:25):
of the an time, and to promote the advancement of
Christ's character in your life. I am Pastor Raphile Perez,
and I invite you to have a word of prayer.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
Heavenly Father, thank you for another opportunity to study your landmarks,
your foundational landmarks in your world. Please be with us
as we continue on the ninety five theses of Sabbath
Versus Sunday in Jesus Name.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
Amen, Amen. And the last program we were cut up.
I mean we're still this is.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
Number forty eight, right, we've ran out of time. It's
a very important, yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:04):
Shot the ceremonial Sabbath.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
There's seventh, there's seventh ceremonial Sabbath. And maybe we can
give just a lease the verses and really quickly so
our ready audience will check it for themselves. But before that,
let's read again Colossians, chapter two, verse fourteen through seventy.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
Okay, blotting out the handwritings of ordinances that was against us,
which was contrary to us, and took it out of
the way, nailing it to the cross, And having spoiled
principalities and powers, he made a show of them, openly
triumphing over them in it. Let no man therefore judge
you in meat that's meat offerings, or in drink drink offerings,
(01:50):
or in the respect of an holy day. Those are
the feast days, or of the new moon, or of
the sabbath days. And those are the ceremonial sabbath days,
which are a shadow of things to come. But the
body is of Christ. These were shadows pointing forward to
Christ as the Lamb of God, you know, like the
sacrifice of the Lamb pointed forward that Christ would be
(02:12):
coming to bear our sins instead of us having to
die for our own sins.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
That's right, good point. A shadow is not the real thing.
It's a shadow of the real thing. Right, So when
Jesus came, he was the real thing.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
Right. And we'll give some example as we go along.
Read the game. Please, chapter thirty one, verse twenty four
to twenty six.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
And it came to pass when Moses had made an
end of writing the words of this law in a
book until they were finished, that Moses commanded the Levites,
which bear the ark of the Covenant of the Lord, saying,
take this book of the law and put it in
the side of the ark of the Covenant of the Lord,
your God, that it may be there for a witness
(03:00):
against the.
Speaker 3 (03:02):
And Claus says that it was. It was against us,
and Clauss two fourteen. The handwriting of it was against us.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
And let's talk about that briefly. Why was it against us?
Why was the ceremonial sabbaths against us? Well, because the
ceremonial sabasts were about sacrificing, and it was it was
about second now we sacrifice, in other words, they would
sacrifice a lamb for their sins. In other words, it
proved that they were guilty of sin. So that's why
(03:31):
it was against us. It showed that it we were guilty.
And so this is what Paul meant by that.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
Okay, good, And so let's notice again this book was
not to be placed inside the arc. Very good, because
inside the arc, what was it?
Speaker 2 (03:48):
The ten Commandments the two table stones reading by Moss no,
by the finger of God. So this shows that there
was a difference between the ten Commandment law law and
or the law of God and the ceremonial laws.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
Let's go to first Chronicle twenty three thirty. First, we
had to find in the Bible that those ceremonial sabbath
was indeed, and we're gonna go to a Vitico twenty
three two. We're gonna read verse by verse weekly in
few seconds, those seven Sabbath days ceremonial that were shadow
(04:29):
of Christ.
Speaker 4 (04:29):
That's right, okay.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
But in First Chronicles twenty three and verse thirty one,
it says this, and to offer all burnt sacrifices unto
the Lord in the sabbaths those proud those are right
sacrificial or ceremonial law sacrificial sabbaths right in the new moons,
and on the set feasts by number, according to the
order commanded unto them continually before the Lord.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
Okay. In second Chronicle eighth, verse thirteen.
Speaker 2 (04:57):
Second Chronicles, chapter eight and verse thirteen says.
Speaker 4 (05:02):
These words right here.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
It says, even after a certain rate, every day offering
according to the Commandment of Moses on the sabbaths, and
on the new moons, and on the solemn feasts three
times in the year, even in the feast of unloving Bread,
and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast
(05:24):
of the tabernacles. So these sabbaths were not weekly seven
day sabbath. That God was speaking of us. He was
speaking of the ceremonial set.
Speaker 1 (05:32):
The language in there is almost identical that Paul used
in the Book of Collosions chapter two, first fortune.
Speaker 2 (05:39):
And you know what in Leviticus twenty three is about
to be almost word for word.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
Okay, by brother, I'm sorry you want to say.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
Well, I was just going to ask if you wanted
to list the ceremonial sabbath days that are found in
Leviticus twenty three. There's seven of them, okay, And do
you have the verses there?
Speaker 1 (05:57):
Yeah? Can you read the chapter twenty three again. The
first one is found on verse seven.
Speaker 3 (06:05):
Okay, this is the in the passover day.
Speaker 1 (06:08):
I believe that's right.
Speaker 3 (06:10):
In the first day. Well, actually it's the first day
of the feast of unloved Bread.
Speaker 1 (06:15):
Right, okay, first day. What we just dealing the bus over?
Speaker 3 (06:17):
Well, there's the day after the passage.
Speaker 1 (06:20):
Okay, it was in relationship, okay.
Speaker 3 (06:23):
Right, in the first day, you shall have an holy convocation.
You shall do no servile work there in.
Speaker 1 (06:30):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
And when you hear that holy convocation, that means ceremonial sabbath.
Speaker 1 (06:34):
That's right. And so they said no work, no serve,
no secular work. Not they no that they could fall
in Juan date of.
Speaker 4 (06:44):
The week, right, Okay.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
Now, to get a little context, if you go to
verse four, he tells you what he's talking about God.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
He says, these are the feasts of the Lord, even
holy convocations, which he shall proclaim in their seasons. So
this is different, so different from the weekly sabbath. In
verse three, Verse three says six days shall work be done.
But the seventh day, Look, watch this now is the
sabbath of rest and holy convocation. Ye shall do no
(07:13):
work therein it is the Sabbath of the Lord. In
all your dwellings, this sabbath right here, the Sabbath of
the Lord. You reading verse three, he was separating the
seventh day Sabbath from these feasts. So so notice the
seventh day Sabbath is called the Sabbath of the Lord.
The other ones were not.
Speaker 1 (07:34):
And it's found in this chapter of verse three.
Speaker 4 (07:37):
That's correct, that's correct.
Speaker 1 (07:39):
Okay, So the Bible bring first the seventh day Sabbath
again to distinguish from the rest of the from the.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
Self absolutely, because remember said, these are these fees after that?
Speaker 1 (07:51):
Okay, good, okay, even a child can understand it. No, brother, Patrick,
read the number one ceremonial Sabbath, which is in verse seven.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
Right.
Speaker 1 (08:02):
Now, let's go to the next verse and we'll find
this second ceremonial sabbath. Can you read it? Please? Bright?
Speaker 3 (08:10):
Ye shall that was in the first day of the
feast of eleven bread. But in verse eight it says,
but you shall offer an offering made by fire into
the Lord seven days, and the seventh day is a
holy convocation.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
Another ceremonial seth. Right, okay, you should do what no
secular work work. Right.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
So God wanted them to keep these ceremonial sabbaths like
the Sabbath. He wanted them to keep it like that.
Speaker 1 (08:37):
Now, maybe we should sure as we go along briefly
just a few seconds, quickly, why this shadow of Christ
or the ministry of Christ.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
Why would these are shadow of things to come? With
in the body is of Christ is because of the sacrifices.
The sacrifices represented he who was to come right.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
The first one, it was connected to the passover feast.
Who is our.
Speaker 3 (09:05):
Passover Jesus Christ our pastor.
Speaker 1 (09:07):
The second ceremony sale was connected to the same thing,
to the passover feast. Who is our again? Who's who?
Speaker 4 (09:15):
Who is the breadth of life Jesus? Yes, that's right.
Speaker 1 (09:18):
Okay. So there's two ceremonial sabbath. So far we see
that they were shadow the life of Christ. Then number
the third ceremony and sabbath. You find it in the
verse twenty first the vehicle twenty three, really.
Speaker 2 (09:35):
And which verse is that?
Speaker 4 (09:36):
Twenty one twenty one.
Speaker 2 (09:38):
And ye shall proclaim on the self same day, that
it may be an holy convocation unto you. You shall
do no work surviur work there, and it shall be
a statue forever and all your dwellings throughout your generation.
Speaker 1 (09:51):
Okay. If you read the verses before that, yes, he
was talking about on.
Speaker 3 (09:56):
The verse fifteen, if you read.
Speaker 2 (09:57):
It, yeah, okay, you read it please, Yeah, And ye
shall count unto you from themorrow after the sabbath. So
you notice he's distinguishing the seventh day Sabbath here, right
from the day that you brought the sheaf of the
wave offering, seven sabbaths shall be complete.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
Seven weekly sebbath. And what will happen?
Speaker 2 (10:18):
It says, even unto themorrow after the seventh sabbath, shall
ye number fifty days, and ye shall offer a new
meat offering onto the Lord.
Speaker 1 (10:29):
Okay. In Verse twenty one is describing what.
Speaker 3 (10:33):
The feast of Pentecoster, right, which was the day when
the early rain fell on disciples the Holy Spirit.
Speaker 1 (10:40):
That was another holy or sudden or ceremonial salthathe. Right,
they were not supposed to do any secular workday. Okay,
that's number three. Let's call number four quickly, verse twenty four,
three twenty four.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
And the Lord's spake on to Moses saying, speak unto
the children of Israel, saying, in the seventh month, in
the first day of the month, shall you have us
have a sabbath sabbath? Yeah, I didn't say the Sabbath
of the Look, you shall have a sabbath a memorial
of blowing of trumpets and holy convocation.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
Okay, what was important? What was important for this sabbath?
To be kept, and that was a shadow to come.
What was important, that's.
Speaker 3 (11:23):
When the trumpets started blowing, announcing that the day of
Atonement would come judging the hour of God's judgment.
Speaker 1 (11:31):
That was another Sabbath day. That could be one Wednesday,
on the Monday or on the Sunday, it doesn't matter.
Speaker 3 (11:38):
Sometimes it did occur on the Sabbath, like in Christ
day when he the Sabbath after his crucifixion was a
high Sabbath. It was not only a weekly Sabbath day,
but it was a ceremonial Sabbath day. John nineteen, verse eighteen.
I believe right, toxic, yeah, thirty sixth cause of the
high Sabbath day.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
And you know that this is another reason you know
that this is not talking about the seventh day Sabbath
at creation is because in all his commands concerning that
from Genesis all the way to Exodus, you never tell,
you never see when the Lord tells us to blow
trumpets on the weekly seventh day Sabbath. It was not
part of sauth king. This is something different here.
Speaker 1 (12:18):
Right, Okay, good, good good? So So if I were
saying that why the shadow to come so far? Verse
twenty fifth it says, don't do any work on that
on the day of pentagons.
Speaker 4 (12:31):
That's right, okay, don't do it.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
That's the Sabbath. Okay, number one, the fifth one, the
fifth one, seventh.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
And the Lord spake on to Moses, saying, also on
the tenth day of this seventh month, there shall be
a day of atonement. It shall be in holy convocation
unto you, and you shall lick your souls and offer
an offering made by fire onto the Lord. And you
shall do no work in that same day, for it
is the day of atonement, to make an atonement for
you before the Lord, your God.
Speaker 1 (12:59):
And it repeats, I don't have to, we don't want
to take time. If you read the regular listeners and
repeat again, don't work that day. Don't do any work.
You know, that's a sabbath day. It's a ceremoni of
sal Okay. So that was number right. Vive the six
set month. It's found on.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
The verse thirty three. Okay, yeah, really, And the Lord
spake on to Moses saying, speak unto the children of Israel, saying,
the fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the
feast of Tabernacles for seven days onto the Lord. There
it is. On the first day shall be in holy convocation.
(13:42):
Ye shall do no serve our work Therein seven days
ye shall offer an offering made by fire onto the Lord.
On the eighth days shall be in holy convocation unto you,
And ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto
the Lord. It is a it is a solemn assembly,
and ye shall do no service work there.
Speaker 1 (14:00):
So the number six ceremonial is found in verse thirty five.
I am the first day, okay, of that feast. But
because a fist would it be seventh day? One after another?
He says, on the eighth day, guess.
Speaker 4 (14:18):
What, that's the seventh.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
Another ceremonyself, that was the seventh ceremonial, the number seven.
Speaker 2 (14:26):
And then he can he concludes it in verse thirty seven,
he said, these are the feasts of the Lord, which
you shall proclaim in holy convocation. Now watch the language here, friends,
is gonna sound exactly what Paul is talking about. That's right,
These are the feasts of the Lord, which he shall
proclaim to be holy convocations. To offer an offering made
by fire unto the law, a burnt offering and a
(14:49):
meat offering. Let no man judge you in meat, right,
he says, drink he says, a sacrifice and drink offerings.
Let no one judge you and drink the same li
right everything upon his day, no.
Speaker 1 (15:05):
Bad attention to verse thirty eight. He keeps expanding on
this seven ceremonial Salah.
Speaker 2 (15:11):
Thirty eight He distinguishes it, distinguishes those seventh ceremonial sabbathe
again from the weekly seventh day Sabbath of creation. He says,
thirty eight. Besides the sabbaths of the Lord, and besides
your gifts, and besides all your vows, and besides all
your free will offerens wi ye shall give onto the.
Speaker 1 (15:31):
Lord verse thirty nine. Please nine.
Speaker 2 (15:34):
Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when
ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye
shall keep a feast unto the Lord, seven days. On
the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the
eighth day shall be a sabbath.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
He's repeating again, yes, the importance at that time of
those ceremonial sabbath. When Paul comes writing in Collossion, and
by the way, there was some Jewish, some Jews trying
to keep.
Speaker 4 (16:06):
The feast still the feast day is gone.
Speaker 1 (16:08):
The fish the Old Sentimony wanted.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
The Gentiles to keep the Jewish.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
Fast all this ceremony of south. He said, wait a minute, right,
don't don't let anybody charge you on those things because
they were shadow to come, right.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
And why did Paul say that anyway? Because remember those
things represented the death of Jesus Christ, that he was
gonna come. So when Jesus came to fulfill that, Paul said,
there's no need to do that anymore.
Speaker 4 (16:34):
And so Jesus was the reality.
Speaker 2 (16:36):
He was the reality of it. And so this is
the reason why Paul said, don't do that.
Speaker 1 (16:41):
Not only did death my brother, but also the ministry
of Jesus because, as Patrick mentioned before, we read it
when the Pentacles came fifty days after Christ died and resurrected.
Guess what in the Old Testament that was a type
a figure of that Pentacles.
Speaker 4 (17:01):
That's right. Okay, that's right.
Speaker 1 (17:03):
The date of the judgment. You told me. We have
been talking about that a different program over here. Okay,
we're living in the day of the judgment.
Speaker 4 (17:12):
Now, that's right.
Speaker 1 (17:13):
But why we're not keeping those ceremonial sabbath because why
we if we don't have to keep it. Why because
Christ is the reality of the Sabbath.
Speaker 4 (17:25):
That's correct.
Speaker 1 (17:26):
The Sabbath were introduced was giving to men after the
falling of Sin.
Speaker 4 (17:31):
Okay, that's right.
Speaker 2 (17:33):
Christ.
Speaker 1 (17:34):
You see the difference. Yeah, the Seven day Sabbath, the
four Commandment was not giving to men after the falling
of Sin.
Speaker 4 (17:43):
It was before.
Speaker 1 (17:44):
It was before.
Speaker 4 (17:44):
That's right. Okay, that's right.
Speaker 3 (17:46):
And notice all very good points.
Speaker 2 (17:48):
That's a very good point. And all the duties that
was given on the sermon Savage that we read about
was sacrificing. Do we should we be sacrificing animals right now?
Speaker 3 (17:58):
That would be a deny ale of our faith that
Christ has come.
Speaker 2 (18:02):
Right, because we would say that he did not really
come right.
Speaker 3 (18:05):
We would say that, yeah, we're still waiting for him
to come right.
Speaker 2 (18:09):
And so that's why Paul said, do not do this.
Those things were nailed to the cross, they were fulfilled
and the sacrifice of who they represented, and that was
Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Speaker 1 (18:19):
Yeah, and you know, I know some of our listeners
they even keep those stuttermone him Sabbath. What should we
say to them? In love?
Speaker 2 (18:32):
What should we say we should say to them? Listener,
please consider that those ceremonial sabbage, those sacrifices pointed to
the Savior, which already came and died for us. Please
be careful, Let us be careful not to make a
mockery of his death. In other words, uh, to do
(18:53):
that would would be just like brother Jones said to
say that he did not his death was not good enough.
You know, now we still need to sacrifice animals and
things like that for the salvation of our souls. But
in the Book of Peoples it says the blood of
calves and goats cannot take away sin.
Speaker 1 (19:12):
Yeah, because I see here how the enemy throw to
the extremes some people in the streams of keeping even
and teaching and trying to convence. Yes, we need to
keep the ceremonial Sabbath even and another big company saying, no,
(19:34):
we do not. Only we're not supposed to keep those.
We should even keep this seven day sellath. Is it
that the two extremes?
Speaker 3 (19:42):
I think that the whole question has been answered very
clearly in the Book of Galatians and finalized at that
Acts fifteen meeting in Jerusalem. Yes, absolutely, where Jews wanted
to add to just like Abraham believed in Christ, believed
in the word the promise of God, and it was
(20:03):
counted on him for righteousness. We cannot add anything to
the work and the promises of God.
Speaker 1 (20:10):
By the way, do you know the pole in the
Book of Galatians, Chapter three, Galatians, Verse ten, it was
referring to the same thing. Yeah, can you read it?
Speaker 3 (20:23):
It says, for as many as are of the works
of the Law are under the curse, For it is written,
cursed is everyone that continueth not in all things which
are written in the Book of the Law, to do
them sit.
Speaker 1 (20:34):
What book is it talking about, Paula.
Speaker 4 (20:36):
He's talking about the Book of Moses.
Speaker 1 (20:38):
The only book that we can find right now. It
was either the Book of Moses or the Arc of
Them right now.
Speaker 2 (20:45):
I know of dear people even right now who believe
that you should keep the feast days and do the
ceremonial Sabbath, Yet they do not believe in sacrificing. Well,
according to that you have. If you're going to do it,
you got to do everything, all the work. So we
can't pick and choose friends. The ceremony sabbage were nailed
(21:06):
to the cross, and we should not I believe do
those things anymore. But this is not talking about the
seventh day Sabbath of the Lord.
Speaker 1 (21:14):
I hope and pray that with this explanation, you know
that people out there will understand it. And don't let
anybody to be confused. Because I was talking to you
off the air that at the beginning in my experience
walking in the Gospel, somebody brought to me this versus
(21:40):
of Colossians two fortune through sixteen, and it made me
think I had to go back again to the Bible
study by myself. Praise God. When I went through all
these verses, I said, Wow, the word of God, there
is no contradiction, you know. And the way I saw
(22:00):
it's right there.
Speaker 4 (22:01):
That's right.
Speaker 1 (22:02):
I'm sure anybody can see it. Amen, Paul, make it
distinguished of the ceremonial Sabbath and the moral because the
same Paul, look what he says when he was talking
about the ten Commandment Romans chapter seven, verse.
Speaker 2 (22:23):
Draw and verse twelve says this, wherefore the law is
holy and the Commandment holy and just and good and good.
Speaker 1 (22:34):
So if he would have been including the seventh day
Sabbath and colosions, do you think he would have sayn this, that's.
Speaker 2 (22:41):
Right, and the other book he would have not said that.
Speaker 1 (22:44):
Of course.
Speaker 2 (22:44):
Another thing is that Paul remember the text that we
read in the Book of Acts where Paul kept the Sabbath.
Speaker 1 (22:50):
And the Romans street thirty one read it a game?
Speaker 4 (22:52):
Please Yes.
Speaker 2 (22:53):
In Romans three thirty one, it says, do we then
make void the law?
Speaker 4 (22:57):
Through faith?
Speaker 2 (22:58):
God forbid?
Speaker 3 (22:59):
Yeay?
Speaker 2 (23:00):
Establish the law? We establish the Ten Commandment law.
Speaker 1 (23:03):
Friends, that's why. That's why. And then and then chapter six,
verse one and two are Romans.
Speaker 2 (23:10):
All right, It says, what shall we say?
Speaker 3 (23:12):
Then?
Speaker 2 (23:12):
Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? God forbid?
How shall we that are dead to sin live any longer?
Speaker 4 (23:20):
Therein what is he saying in there?
Speaker 1 (23:23):
He's saying in relation to the tink Commandment?
Speaker 2 (23:25):
Yeah, in relation to the tin Commandments? Remember, sin is
the transgression of the Ten Commandment. Law is sin. So
he says, shall we continue in sin because we're saved
by grace through faith? He says, no, God forbid that.
He said, how shall we that are dead to sin?
In other words, we have given our lives to christis
(23:46):
like baptism. We are dead to sin. We don't sin anymore?
We don't want to sin anymore. We were free from it.
He said, how can we continue to go ahead and
sin when we're supposed to be dead to sin? It
doesn't make any sense.
Speaker 1 (23:59):
We're gonna when Ginua transgressing openly God's law. Right, if
we ever come to Christ, that's correcting that in Christ.
That's what he's saying.
Speaker 4 (24:08):
Absolutely, I hope, I hope.
Speaker 1 (24:11):
My friends out there are following this simple. Yes, it's simple.
That's Bible studies.
Speaker 2 (24:17):
That's right.
Speaker 1 (24:18):
There's no such a thing when when when people say, oh, no,
the Bible can never be an understood Oh you know,
you need to spend x amount of years in next
you know, the seminarty colleges, do we understood? No.
Speaker 3 (24:35):
No.
Speaker 2 (24:36):
If you set your heart to study God's word and
you ask him for help, He's going to help you.
The Bible says, study to show thyself approved unto God,
a workman that needed not be ashamed, rightly dividing the
word of truth, and God will help you.
Speaker 1 (24:52):
I said, matter of fact, you know what I've used
to say. Where most people are confused are in those
institutions on the and because they're so confused, they say, okay,
let's substitute it by our tradition.
Speaker 3 (25:06):
You know, the feast days are called type types, and
they pointed to the anti types. The types are like
the shadows, and the fulfillment was the anti type, and
the feast day of Passover was the fulfilled when Christ
the passover Lamb was crucified on Passover Day, and then
(25:28):
the Feast of eleven bread the type was pointing to
an actual experience in our lives when the leven would
represent sin and sin was not to be found in
our houses or in ourselfs sin, so we need to
live a pure life in our lives and in our homes.
And then the Feast of Pentecost was fulfilled. Its anti
(25:51):
type was in fifty days after christ crucifixion, when the
disciples received the Holy Spirit in the early reign on
that day of Pentecost. The other feast days are in
the fall of the year, which would be at the
end of the Christian Age, and the Feast of Trumpets
