Speaker 1 (00:00):
Let's head out to the highlight right now as we
welcome one of the newest Denver Broncos r J Harvey.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
RJ.

Speaker 1 (00:05):
Congratulations. How excited were you to get the call moments ago?

Speaker 2 (00:11):
Man, I'm super excited. It's it's so crazy because right
before I got that phone call, I just felt I
just felt it about to happen. I just felt my
name about it because I'm just I'm just so excited that, uh,
the coaching staff of the Gem, every everybody, uh, you know, uh,
they they told me to come to Denver Broncos and
I'm to the Denver Broncos and I'm just excited to

(00:33):
showcase my skills to Bronco. Nason. I'm just don't want
to do whatever I can to help the team.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
Well, back when I was in high school, I got
to play against it up and coming coach named Gus Malsan.
You actually got to got coached by the man. What
was that experience like there at Central Florida.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
Yeah, it was, it was, it was. It was a
great experience. You know, me and me and coach Gus. Uh,
that's my guy, you know, Uh, he he loves running
the ball. You know, you want to go straight at you.
Uh that that's that's for That's what he loves to do.
And my time with Coach Guts it it was, it was,
it was, it was great. You know. I'm I'm super
blessed to have I've have been a player for Coach

(01:11):
Gusts and uh it got me this far. So I'm
I'm I'm happy for him. I'm happy r J.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
R J.

Speaker 4 (01:17):
Nick Ferguson here, the one thing I love about your
game is how you operate in space, and a lot
about the NFL is being able to make guys miss
and open space with a lot of grass. What would
you attribute to that skill set that you have for
making guys missing space too?

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Yeah, that's what you know.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
I work.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
I work at it all the time, you know. You
know that's something that's that's a big part of my
game that I focus on. You know that I want
to consistently get better get better at that. And there's
plenty more things I know for sure I need to
get better at. And I'm I'm just uh ready just
to get up a bit different and just get to work,
you know, just showcase all my skills.

Speaker 4 (01:59):
Man.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
The last couple here for you, r J.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
Harvey joining us here.

Speaker 4 (02:04):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
You know, one of the things that I think the
Broncos were really looking forward to finding is running back
in this class that had tremendous receiving skills, and that's
something that you had a chance to really show off
there at UCF as far as it, you know, at
the pro level, I mean imagine a lot of that
still translates pretty well. And would you say that that
was ultimately one of your biggest strengths as as a

(02:26):
pass catcher and as running back out of the backfield.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
Yeah, definitely. You see, we didn't really you know, I don't,
I don't. I didn't really have that. We didn't do
too many like passes to the running back, you know,
But every time that we did, you know, I try
to make the most out of it because I know
that our austens didn't really consist of it. But there's
plenty of times in practice where I've you know, I've
caught the ball and made plays and in the game

(02:52):
as well. The coaches they know it are getting out
of me. They picked me for a reason to come
up to Denver, and uh, you know, I feel I
can do it all and I'm just to just get
to work. That's it. I'm just ready to get to work.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
Well, Sean Payton offenses have had a lot of great
running backs in it. I think Alba kamaras the name
most recently. People look at your scouting report, they compare
you to guys like Bucky Irving, Divide Chain like and
Mitchell Who would you say you most patter your game.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
After I'm trying not to really compare myself, but you
know I love watching guys like Jamierrick Gibbs, Uh, Christa McCaffrey,
say Kwan of course, Aaron Jones, you know, watching those
guys and uh, you know, I just I just watched
all of it, and I just watching how they carry

(03:39):
theirselves throughout the game, and uh, you know, I just
just trying to try to take for what I don't.
I don't really try to compare myself, but yeah, those
are the guys that I really pay attention to.

Speaker 4 (03:51):
All j last one for me here obviously. Once again,
I go back to watching you on the film in
your vision. I know Ryan Evers, he and I were
talking about it before you came on with us. I mean,
when you think about joining the Broncos offense and understanding
that you you've got to be behind a massive offensive line.
And this is something that Champagne has preached on as

(04:13):
far as being able to create a lot of space
with his running backs. I mean, when it comes to
to to your vision, what is something that you look
forward to once the ball.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
Is handed to you? Yeah, you know, every time I
touch the ball, you know, my mind says to score,
you know. But yeah, like like you said, uh, it's
a big offensive line. You know, I'm excited to get
to get to know those, know those guys and uh,
you know, it's just uh get to work with them,
and you know they're gonna they're gonna help me. I

(04:45):
want to I want to make them look good and
uh they hope they gonna make me look good, you know.
And yeah, I'm I'm I'm just ready to get to work,
get get to uh get to know all those guys,
get build a relationship with all of them.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
Are Hey, we are really thrilled for you. We can't
wait to meet you. Congratulations again, Thank you so much
for the time, man.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
Thank you so much. Thank you. Hell great nights, Thank
you too.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
Do ut Bronco, R. J.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
Harvey
