Food & Wine Weekend

I'm surprised.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
You know.

Speaker 1 (00:01):
We did a lot of Palm Beach Food and Wine
Festival events over the weekend. We did a lot over
the weekend. On Friday, we went to Steve Eagle's retirement
well his last broadcast at the Channel five studios. So
we did that, and then Sally and I left there
and went to the Belgrove for the Palm Beach Food
and Wine Festival Chef's Welcoming Party. What a beautiful place

(00:23):
that is, Yes, my gosh, it was beautiful. We did that,
and then on Saturday we were all three at the
Park and their restaurant, the House Kitchen and Bar in
West Palm Beach for par t and that was awesome.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
That was fun too.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
Yeah, and then we were all three at the grand
Tasting and for the Chef's Throwdown, which we m seed
with Jay Kashmir. That was Sunday at the Convention Center.
I'm getting my days mixed up. And so yeah, on
Saturday at the part at the Park and the House
Kitchen and Bar. That was a new event, Yes, brand new.

(00:58):
What a great time, what a Oh my gosh. The
food was amazing, It was incredible. The food was amazing
and so much so that they were passing around was it.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
It was like it was steaking some I think massed
potatoes or something. There was something other stuff on there
that I didn't care about too much. But but let's
go back to the stake and they you know that
stuff like that. They have the little suggestion of a plate,
basically the little appetizer plate that they passed around. And
it was the waiters passing this thing around. And after
a few times of me saying, hey, hey, you know,

(01:28):
let me have one of them, let me have one
of them, they just started handing them to me because
I didn't even have to stop them. No more true story.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
I saw the guy came right out of the kitchen,
walked right up to Curtis, and he knew to go
to Curtis first. So if you were there at party
on Saturday and you didn't get any steak Curtis because
he was eating it all, I got first DIBs, claimed it. Yeah, yeah,
he got first DIBs. And at one point the guy
even stood there.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
You want another one? Yes?

Speaker 1 (01:55):
Hell, yeah, yes I did. The food was so good.
I had shrimped toast. I've never had like that before. Yeh,
it was a really good time, great atmosphere. Uh, I
will tell you. I went out to the jeep because
I'll just Rebecca. She brought us a nice gift. Yeah,
and so I took it out to the jeep. So
I didn't want to forget it. So I took it
out to the jeep. And when I took it out,

(02:16):
I noticed something on the ground next to the jeep. Yes,
it was a credit card. So I picked it up
and yeah, some guy's credit card. So you know what
I didn't Well, I put it in my pocket and
I was going to turn it in, and for some
reason I kept it in my pocket quite a while
before I got to that.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
It was weird because you told us all about Hey,
I found this in the in the parking lot and you.
I was like, okay, well go tell the manager. You
really did just hold on to that. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
I said, uh, yeah, I'm going to do that when
I find a manager. And Curtis was like, I'm pretty
sure that guy right there behind the bar, he's got
a thing in the zeer, you know, whatever radio thing looks.
He looks pretty much like the manager here. And I said, yeah,
I'll give it to him in a little bit for a.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
Reward or what. I don't know.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
I feel it. What kind of criminal activity is that?
And I was hanging on to it, thinking do I
want to buy some.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
Drinks for this? I don't know you were having a fantasy.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
I don't know why I held onto it. But then
I got it out of my pocket and I and
you know, he walks up to me because he's behind
the bar, and he says, what can I get you?
And I said, oh nothing, I said, I I found
this credit card in the parking lot. And he reached
for it and I kind of went back and I said,
hold on, I said.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
I found you trustworthy.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
I said, I found it in the parking lot, and
I'm going to give it to you whenever I'm done
in the pro shop over at the golf course. And
he was like, oh yeah, definitely go to the pro shop,
buy whatever you want, get on Amazon, and then and
then turn it in. He was joking around, and I
was like, he goes, you wouldn't believe how many credit
cards we find around this place. That happens more than
you know.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
I would have never thought that. Yeah, So I hope
he got it back.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
Yeah, And I didn't put anything on there. But I
certainly felt like.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
You're trying to break bad. I don't know why.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
And I thought about, see again, I could be a
criminal over the weekend. I thought, now, what if I
would have bought some clubs with that I would be
caught because I don't know how to do it. I
would have them shipped to my house so they would
know exactly who had the credit card. And then I thought, well,
maybe I ship him to Curtis's house, but I have

to pay him not to say anything. I would not
be a good criminal at all.
