Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, Curtis was telling us that he's got this guy.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
I've been getting phone calls.

Speaker 1 (00:04):
Phone calls from this guy, basically.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Cold calls, you know, like at least they're purporting to
be from someone saying they represent an AC company, and
you know, with summertime blah blah blah, time to get
your your AC unit service. And he was offering good deals,
and you know, the first time I answered and he
you know, said all this stuff, I was like, well,
I have to think about it because I didn't know

(00:26):
if it was legit what?

Speaker 3 (00:27):
All right? Right now? You never know anybody? I don't
know anymore.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
And so then he called the next day and then
the next day and I just never answered. But now
the frequency of the calling is making me think maybe
it was a scam. But like, do companies actually do
this or is it always a scam when this happens,
I'm not.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
That's pretty aggressive though, that is. But do you think
it's because you said you'd have to think about it?
May the reason he's calling back because he might have
that you would be considered a an air quotes lead
that you know he's fine going up?

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Yeah, I'm like, why you want me so bad, like,
I just really can't. I just I stayed away from
him because I don't know if this is a scam,
and I don't want to invite somebody up into my place.
And then next thing, you know, I'm a news story.

Speaker 4 (01:11):
Yeah, yeah, because that sounds Yeah, because I wanted to
save a few get thirty forty bucks. Yeah, and then
we don't see Curtis anymore. The last time we heard
somebody was coming to his place to services.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
Ac unit in his townhouse is one hundred and eighty
degrees inside.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
Yeah, he's just in there, riting, rotting flesh.

Speaker 4 (01:33):
Yeah, Curtis.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
Now, I wouldn't There's no way I would do that. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
That Uh, you know, we don't get I don't get
calls like that now, doesn't when it shows up on
your phone, does it say like an age?

Speaker 2 (01:43):
It doesn't say a company. It's just a phone number.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
But does this a potential spam or anything like that?

Speaker 3 (01:48):
Huh?

Speaker 1 (01:49):
Have you used this company before?

Speaker 2 (01:50):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (01:50):
Huh?

Speaker 3 (01:52):
I don't know. Yeah, that's I would never set an
appointment with somebody who called me.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
I did some googling. It's a legit company, but I
don't know if this person is.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
Associated might not actually work for that company. Because we
know of a company that's people were calling saying they
were from this company, and when they showed up, they
were not in a company vehicle or in a company uniform.
They didn't work for the company, and the company claimed
that they did.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
The company said, we've been scammed. People are doing this.
They'll they'll show up saying they're with our company, but
they're not in this. So they would do the service
and they take the money and off they go.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
See. So, but I want to save some money, bro,
I don't know. Is there like a way to like test, like, hey,
if you will scam, give me my money back.

Speaker 3 (02:35):
No. I don't think you can be too careful anymore.

Speaker 4 (02:40):
I don't either.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
I there's plenty of AC companies that you know, you
can call them and have them come service your AC unit.
But when they start calling you yeah, and you say yes,
and then we don't hear from you.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
We used to get a notice in the mail that
you know, when we use this particular company that takes
service time. Yeah, but we knew the company, we knew
the people.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
Yeah, and we get calls from them too. But if
you don't know the company, and I would be suspicious.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
I would too.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
We're going to err on the side of creeper, Yes, yeah, creeper,
on the side of

Speaker 4 (03:16):
Hey, Curtis Man, I really like to service your unit.
