Speaker 1 (00:00):
So I mentioned this earlier. Today is National Weight Staff
Day for waiters and waitresses and you know bartenders and baristas.
Today is a day to thank them for dealing with
our annoying requests.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
You know.

Speaker 3 (00:16):
Yeah, sometimes I feel like I can be very annoying
when I order something. I like it the particular way
I like it.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
Yeah, And we used to go out with some friends,
and we can talk about them because they're back in
Michigan right now.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
There you go. Oh gosh.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Going out with them was just it was exhausting, agonizing.
I felt so sorry for the waiter or waitress that
had to take their order. Could you maybe cook it
like this and maybe not use any salt and pepper?
A yeah, just stay home? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (00:46):
Any oil?

Speaker 2 (00:47):
Yeah? Cook it?

Speaker 1 (00:48):
What kind of oils do you use? And of course,
you know you could see.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
Acting like the chef only cooking for you. They got
you know, a whole kitchen a row, come on there.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
Yeah, but yeah, can you make this pasta gluten free?

Speaker 3 (01:00):
Yeah. We used to work with a woman who her
boyfriend was ridiculous about sending food back, always.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
Always sending food all the time we went out with them.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
And she would be like, well, you know he used
to be a chef, so he knows what's right and wrong.

Speaker 4 (01:14):
And I was like, yeah, they're spitting in his food.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
Well, I guess it was BuzzFeed. They recently pulled thousands
of current and former servers and asked them some fun questions.
And by the way, if you, by the way, if
you do this job and you want to answer any
of these questions for us, that'd be great, feel free
to do so, because it's a thankless job.

Speaker 4 (01:35):
Have you ever waited tables?

Speaker 2 (01:36):
No?

Speaker 1 (01:36):
And I could not know. There's no way I could
do that job. I just I appreciate all you do
because I couldn't do it. Have you ever eaten food
off of a customer's plate?

Speaker 4 (01:48):
I'd probably grab a fryar.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
To thirty percent said yes. Have you ever dated or
cooked or hooked up? I'm sorry, have you ever dated
or hooked up with a cook? Oh? Since said yes?

Speaker 2 (02:00):
That seems low? You think so, Yeah, it seems low.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
I think you think the cooks are like rock stars.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
And they intermingling in that biz.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
Oh, okay, after work, maybe go out for drinks.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
Very I don't want to say instuous, that's not you know, business.

Speaker 4 (02:16):
I understand what you're saying.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
Again, if you're a waiter or a waitress and you
want to call us out on any of these, like
Curtis saying that's that.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
That number is low, it seems low.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
Feel free too, let us know, all right, what else?
Have you ever come into work sick or hungover? Oh?
Of course, eighty one percent of done it.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
There you go, that's the kind of number I'm looking for.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
Restic, have you ever finished a customer's alcoholic beverage?

Speaker 2 (02:43):
Well, if they're still have food, why not alcohol?

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Only six percent said yes? Oh okay, that number is
probably low to don't you think no.

Speaker 4 (02:51):
I remember we were at a restaurant.

Speaker 3 (02:53):
It's been a while, but somebody they I wouldn't drink
it if it was in their glass, but somebody left.

Speaker 4 (02:58):
Wine in a bottle.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
Oh yeah, taking that home.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
I would be like taking that up and take it
absolutely not out of their glass.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
Yeah maybe because the food, you know, with us coming
right out the kitchen, so it's different, but like out
of the glass, it's like.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
That might be kind of gross. But yeah, definitely taking
that bottle. Hey, if they leave some in the bottle, Waiters, waitresses,
let us know if you've done that. Let's see. Have
you ever given someone free food or a free drink
because they thought you were cute?

Speaker 4 (03:25):
Oh, I'm sure that happened.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
Thirty percent said yes, hmm, I'm just gonna start calling
all of our waiters.

Speaker 4 (03:31):
Wait, you're going to beat a creeper.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
I'm so sorry. You can't do that.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
Well, I might get a free drink.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
You right to jail.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
Imagine me rolling up into some restaurant.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
Haytu you o?

Speaker 1 (03:48):
You are looking good today?

Speaker 4 (03:50):
Are you working out?

Speaker 2 (03:51):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (03:52):
Yeah? Have you ever snuck off to the bathroom just
to get a break? Eighty eight percent said yes, I
think we've had one of those before. It's like, what happened?

Speaker 2 (04:02):
Does yeah, break from us.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
Trying to get away from you, you creeper? And have
you ever retaliated against a rude customer? Half of servers
said they've re retaliated in some way, but they don't
say how.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
So.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
Anyway, if you're in this, if you're in the business,
if you're a waiter or waitress, and you want to
answer any of these questions or just tell us about
the most horrific customer you ever had.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
Oh, remember, we have a friend who's a waiter. Who
had somebody throw beats at him.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
Yes, absolutely.

Speaker 3 (04:38):
She said they weren't really beats because they weren't red
like your golden beats, so she started throwing them
