Speaker 1 (00:00):
Black Alacko.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
Trump teaches Newscom and Bath a valuable lesson, don't let
illegals in cut all federal funding off to that state.

Speaker 3 (00:10):
Caution, you are about to experience the taxpayer relief shot
segment on the situation with Michael Brown. Caution, you are
about to experience the taxpayer relief shot segment on the
situation with Michael Brown. We do not necessarily relish the
death of any criminal, but we do celebrate our god
given and constitutional right to self defense in the event

(00:32):
that the criminal becomes DRT. The taxpayers spared the cost
of public defenders, court costs, incarceration, and continued parole supervision.
As the Sheriff of Santa Rosa County, Florida says insert
audio here, or Sheriff Grady of Pope County says, insert
audio here. You have been warned. Listen at your own risks. Mike,

(00:59):
we are going to do taxpayer relief shots. However, just
deep breath. This is only eleven seconds. But to prove
my point about why they were so insistent on holding
this hearing today, particularly before the inauguration, let's go to
ABC News reporter Aaron.

Speaker 4 (01:22):
Katski, Prosecutor Josh Steinglass said, the imposition of sentence cements
Trump's status as a convicted felon. And it's with that moniker,
he will enter the office of the White House.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
There you go.

Speaker 5 (01:36):
They got out what they wanted. Now it's on to
the appeal. Let's see what we can do. Okay, it's
the taxpayer release segment on them situation with Michael Brown.
Because it's Friday, and well, this is just what we do.
Why do we do these because I believe that there
is not enough coverage about the defensive use of firearms,
either by law enforcement or by citizens in defending themselves.

(02:00):
We call them taxpayer release shots. Because somebody's breaking in
your house here more than welcome to shoot them.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
In Centa's accounting, we prefer that you do.

Speaker 6 (02:08):
Actually, hopefully you'll save the taxpayers money.

Speaker 7 (02:11):
Or I would highly suggest that if a looter breaks
into your home, comes into your home while you're there
to steal stuff, that you take your gun and you
shoot him. You shoot him so that he looks like
grated cheese, because you know what, that's one leader that
won't break into anyone else's home.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
And the sheriff Gritty also says my favorite one.

Speaker 7 (02:34):
I would tell them, if you value your life, you
probably shouldn't do that in Polk County.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
Because the people of Polk County like guns. They have guns.

Speaker 7 (02:42):
I encourage them to own guns, and they're going to
be in their homes tonight with.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Their guns loaded.

Speaker 8 (02:46):
And if you try to break into their homes to.

Speaker 7 (02:48):
Steal to set fires, I'm highly.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
Recommending they blow you back out of the house with
your guns. So leave the community alone. Just love that.

Speaker 5 (02:58):
So if you do, I'm just suggesting they just blow
you right back out of the house. So leave my
people alone. What wouldn't be nice to have a sheriff
like that in Colorado or wherever you live. Okay, we'll
go through these in order. We have several award winners today.
So ma'am, all of you citizens out there exercising you

(03:18):
right of self defense, congratulations because we've got award winners.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
We'll start with four teenagers.

Speaker 9 (03:26):
Three teenagers are behind bars in connection with a robbery
that left another teenager dead.

Speaker 10 (03:31):
Invest goat to say the fourteens were attempting to rob
a couple in Shadow Falls Park along Summit Avenue in
Saint Paul. Please say the man being robbed, pulled a
gun and fired, killing sixteen year old Lavant And Broadbent.

Speaker 11 (03:43):
Right.

Speaker 10 (03:43):
Chapman spoke with police and the family of a sixteen
year old shooting victim. He joins us now from the
scene with more on the investigation.

Speaker 8 (03:50):
Hi, raj Hey Emelia.

Speaker 12 (03:52):
There is a heavy police presence today right here in
Shaddle Falls Park and is not only because of the
robbery and shooting that took place here from last night
during a vigil for one of the shooting victims, more
shots were fired right now. Police have this area on
lockdown until they get to the bottom of what happened
to cause a teenager.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
To lose his life.

Speaker 12 (04:13):
Police described the incidents as a robbery gone wrong. They
say a couple sitting near the bluffs was talking to
a group of teens when the friendly exchange turned to demand.

Speaker 13 (04:22):
Dressed in a.

Speaker 14 (04:22):
Mask and gloves, produced a handgun and demanded items from
the two party that had just met, at which point
are now victim would produce a handgun and fire.

Speaker 12 (04:35):
Police say it's unclear how many times sixteen year old
Levante Broadbent was hit.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
He died at the scene. Police said the man who
shot him tried to help.

Speaker 14 (04:43):
He held on to the area, rendered first daid, took
off his shirt, tried to give immediate help, called the
police as he's.

Speaker 15 (04:51):
Supposed to do, Like, that's not him at all.

Speaker 12 (04:53):
Family members who did not want to be identified, say
the Levante they know loved sports and did everything he
could to stay on the court, field or wrestling matt
Since he was very little. Levante would have been a
junior at Henry Sibley High School. Family say they have
more questions than answers.

Speaker 16 (05:08):
We want to know why, why he had to be
shot so many times?

Speaker 1 (05:13):
We want to know.

Speaker 17 (05:16):
Where do you get this gun?

Speaker 12 (05:17):
The team they called man Man is gone. His family says,
someone out there knows what really happened, and they hope
the truth eventually comes out because.

Speaker 16 (05:25):
It's ain't man Man. He got led in the wrong direction.

Speaker 8 (05:28):
That name he did. This is never something he would do.

Speaker 18 (05:32):
I would like when I say we're in shock, we
are in shock.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
This is not him.

Speaker 12 (05:39):
Now police are not releasing the name of the robbery victim,
but they do tell us he has a valid permit
to carry a gun. Police say this is still an
active case and they're looking for the public's help. If
you have any information, you're asked to call Saint Paul police.

Speaker 10 (05:53):
All right, Rach, thank you.

Speaker 5 (05:55):
The mention of that permit reminds me that legislations may
introduced in Congress. I don't know whether they have any
Senate sponsors yet or not or not, but in the
House to mandate a nationwide constitutional carry so that if
you have a concealed carry permit in one state, then

(06:17):
it's valid in all states. My God, do I hope
that passes. Let's see another award winner. This happens to
involve a teenager and an old fart.

Speaker 19 (06:30):
Teenager who broke into a Southgate home and.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
Ended up dead.

Speaker 15 (06:34):
Lice have now identified.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
That's it. Anything else, dragon done? Okay, let's go. They're done.

Speaker 20 (06:43):
Teenager who broke into a Southgate home and ended up dead.

Speaker 10 (06:47):
Lice have now identified him, and they're revealing new details
about the crime.

Speaker 21 (06:50):
Tonight seven Action News reporter A new Prakash has the update.

Speaker 22 (06:55):
Nineteen year old James Clickord is the man Southgate police
sate broke into his neighbour's home early Thursday morning and
wound up debt. They made the positive ID using fingerprints.
Investigators say the seventy four year old homeowner shot and
killed Clickard after Clickard pointed a gun at him. They've
also learned the teen's gun had been reported stolen.

Speaker 23 (07:13):
It was taken in a home invasion in the city
of Taylor sometime in twenty fourteen.

Speaker 22 (07:19):
Police say they don't know if Clickard was involved in
that home invasion or how he got his hands on
that stolen gun.

Speaker 17 (07:25):
Yesterday morning.

Speaker 22 (07:26):
They say he was in the process of stealing prescription
drugs and electronics.

Speaker 15 (07:29):
When he was confronted by the homeowner.

Speaker 23 (07:31):
There was I believe a computer in a box containing
some pharmaceuticals that he had taken from the home were
outside of the door wall.

Speaker 22 (07:41):
Police believe this was a justified shooting, but we'll be
turning over their investigation to the prosecutor, who has the
final say.

Speaker 23 (07:47):
Terrifying moment for the homeowner that you know, you're just
finding out your home was broken into, and now someone's
pointing a gun at you, and you have to make
a decision, you know, a very quick decision to protect yourself.

Speaker 22 (08:02):
In Southgate, a new Prakash seven ection news.

Speaker 5 (08:05):
I hope and maybe any of you Leo's that I
know listen to the program. When you run across a
case like this, do you write your reports such that
you lead the prosecutor, you lead the district.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
Attorney to the same conclusion that.

Speaker 5 (08:24):
You've made that it was a justified shooting and that
no charges should attach to this incident, because it really
just it just kind of bugs me that. And I
get that there's there's a homicide, but I mean homicide
in the sense of there is the death of a
human being at the hands of another human being. Doesn't

(08:46):
mean it's a criminal, just means that there's been a homicide.
So do you write your reports so that when the
DA gets your report, because a homicide needs to be investigated,
that there's no doubt in the DA's mind that they
shouldn't charge it. Because while DA's have discretion, they could
look at the report, I suppose, and say, you know,

(09:07):
they could be an Alvin Bragg, that could be somebody
in California that decides, oh, look it was it was
a seventy four year old white guy shot this kid
and by gully. I don't care how just fight it was.
I'm going to bring charges against him anyway. Does the
name Daniel Penny Ring a bell with anybody?

Speaker 13 (09:25):
Jordan Williams Rings a bell though.

Speaker 5 (09:27):
You know, I thought it might with you, but I
wasn't sure if you could remember that or not. That
was a guy that had a that had a samurai
sword or something that just Willy Nelly started walking up
and down subways.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
Knifing people is.

Speaker 13 (09:41):
Just like hating people straight in half.

Speaker 1 (09:45):
Another award winner, be careful going to the Dollar Jail.
I'm sorry, I'm sorry.

Speaker 13 (09:52):
Did I interrupt anything before you hit play?

Speaker 1 (09:54):
Here?

Speaker 13 (09:54):
On this one? I hope. I think it is this
one that has like the quote of the day in it,
but it might be the liquor store one. I can't remember.
I know it was one of these two. So this
Dollar General one.

Speaker 5 (10:06):
So either dollars so either Dollar Gen so the quote
that either comes from Dollar General or a liquor store.

Speaker 13 (10:12):
I can't remember exactly which one because I recorded it.
He's in yesterday morning. But and it might be this one.
It just has a beautiful, masterful quote. I just absolutely
loved it.

Speaker 5 (10:23):
But either way, the fact that comes from either Dollar
General or liquor store, yeah, tells me that that that's.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
Enough right here, gold That's really enough? All right? Dollar General.

Speaker 9 (10:32):
Here we go at six twenty twenty three year old
Roosevelt Rapley entered a Dollar General store in Dayton, Ohio,
with intentions beyond shopping. Armed with a firearm, he demanded
money from the cashier, threatening employees and customers. The situation
was tense, but one employee refused to succumb to fear.
A second clerk, who was not at the register, recognized
the danger when Rapley directed.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
His weapon toward him.

Speaker 9 (10:54):
The employee acted in self defense, drawing his own firearm
and firing a single shot, striking rapily in the chest.
Rapley managed to leave the store, but collapsed near the entrance.
Emergency responders arrived promptly, but he succumbed to his injuries
at the scene. The employee, uninjured but visibly shaken, contacted
nine to one one to report the incident, explaining he
pointed a gun at me, I had a firearm and

(11:14):
acted in self defense. His voice revealed the gravity of
the encounter, blending fear with determination. Rapley's family expressed both
grief and frustration. His sister, Rochelle, acknowledged his actions but
criticized the employee's response, stating, yes, he was robbing them,
but that clerk shouldn't have shot him.

Speaker 1 (11:30):
They should have called the police.

Speaker 9 (11:31):
Lieutenant Jason Hall of the Dayton Police Department provided additional details,
noting that Rapley faced a pending weapons charge and was
linked to other robbery investigations. Authorities confirmed the employee's actions
were lawful, as carrying a concealed weapon on private property
such as the Dollar General did not require a permit.
Dollar General issued a statement reaffirming their commitment to safety.
While they did not disclose specific security policies, the company

(11:54):
acknowledged the challenges their stores faced due to recurring robbery attempts.

Speaker 1 (12:00):
Pure taxpayer relief. Shot gold.

Speaker 13 (12:04):
I told you the quote from what was that the sister.
I know he was robbing the place, but they should
have just called the police.

Speaker 1 (12:11):
This is just marvelous termination.

Speaker 9 (12:16):
Rapley's family expressed both grief and frustration. His sister, Rochelle,
acknowledged his actions but criticized the employee's response, stating, yes,
he was robbing them, but that clerk shouldn't have shot him.

Speaker 5 (12:26):
They we need to add that dragon, if you don't mind,
if you can't edit that and grab that just enough
to give a little context. We need that as part
of the intro to the taxpayer relief shot.

Speaker 1 (12:43):
Sure that is well. Our work is done here.

Speaker 13 (12:47):
I acknowledged the fact that my a whole brother was
about to kill you, and.

Speaker 8 (12:52):
You've killed him.

Speaker 10 (12:53):
You should have just called the police.

Speaker 1 (12:59):
I get to you know how I am. I can't
help myself. Determination.

Speaker 9 (13:05):
Rapley's family expressed both grief and frustration. His sister, Rochelle
acknowledged his actions, but criticized the employee's response, stating, yes,
he was robbing them, but that clerk shouldn't have shot him.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
The termination.

Speaker 9 (13:16):
Rapley's family expressed both grief and frustration. His sister, Rochelle
acknowledged his actions, but criticized the employee's response, stating, yes,
he was robbing them, but that clerk shouldn't have shot him.

Speaker 5 (13:28):
Yeah, I really do. Can someone track down that sister.
I'd like to talk to her and ask her, so, sweetheart,
tell me you acknowledge that your brother was robbing someone
a gunpoint, but they should not have shot him.

Speaker 1 (13:42):
What did you want them to do?

Speaker 12 (13:45):
What?

Speaker 5 (13:46):
Just tell me what you want them to do? One
more time than I'll stop. The Dragon's right.

Speaker 1 (13:51):
This is this is the one of the best ever termination.

Speaker 9 (13:54):
Rapley's family expressed both grief and frustration. His sister, Rochelle,
acknowledged his actions but criticized the employee's response, stating, yes,
he was robbing them, but that clerk shouldn't have shot him.
They should have called the police. Lieutenant Jason Hall of
the Dayton Police Department provided additional details, noting that Rapily
faced a pending weapons charge and was linked to other
robbery investigations.

Speaker 1 (14:14):
You know we shouldn't gloss over that either.

Speaker 5 (14:16):
I mean, come on, he was already facing weapons charges
and was implicated in other.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
Armed robberiesser.

Speaker 9 (14:29):
The authorities confirmed the employee's actions were lawful, as carrying
a concealed weapon on private property such as the Dollar
General did not require a permit. Dollar General issued a
statement reaffirming their commitment to safety. While they did not
disclose specific security policies, the company acknowledged the challenges their
stores face.

Speaker 1 (14:46):
Due to recurring robbery attempts.

Speaker 5 (14:48):
I hope that Dollar General does not have a policy
that forces them to terminate that employee. Another award, Everything
seems downhill from now, Dragon just seems downhill. Another award winner, however,
involving a homeowner and an intruder.

Speaker 21 (15:09):
Turning the tables. A South Florida homeowner fights back against
a man detectives say was breaking to his home while
he was sleeping. Inside that home, the man's girlfriend, her daughter,
and another man.

Speaker 19 (15:21):
And tonight we are hearing from the man who shot
the intruder. CBS woar is Gary Nelson Lot tonight in
North Lauderdale and Gary. This is still an active scene there.

Speaker 24 (15:30):
Well, the plot, let's say, has very much thickened here.
Police came to this home in the pre dawn. A
homeowner had shot and killed an intruder.

Speaker 8 (15:40):
Police said it was.

Speaker 24 (15:41):
Apparently a justified shooting. They packed up, took down the
crime scene tape and left.

Speaker 8 (15:47):
But hours later they returned.

Speaker 24 (15:50):
The crime scene tape has gone back up. Detectives are
here and the investigation has resumed.

Speaker 8 (15:58):
How are you doing. Are you okay?

Speaker 24 (16:00):
I'm okay, I'm ok I'm okay, this man of the
house tells me, ten hours after he shot and killed
an intruder in the backyard. Investigators arrived at the North
Lauderdale home in the black dark a little after three
am and continued their probe well after dawn.

Speaker 8 (16:16):
Neighbors were startled awake.

Speaker 1 (16:18):
Dan ban Ban ban ban gunshots.

Speaker 24 (16:22):
This man, a Vietnam veteran, has lived in the house
for years with his companion, her grown son here and
fourteen year old granddaughter.

Speaker 8 (16:30):
In the middle of the.

Speaker 24 (16:31):
Night, he said he heard a ruckus, saw a man
trying to break into this shed out back, then trying
to enter the house.

Speaker 1 (16:37):
Well, if it was a ruckus, then I understand.

Speaker 24 (16:41):
Police this morning said it appeared to be a justifiable shooting.

Speaker 16 (16:44):
It was a homeowner who was inside his home, heard
noises in the backyard, armed his self as he has
the right to do, and went to the backyard confronted
the suspect, who is now dead.

Speaker 24 (16:53):
The dead intruder got little sympathy from neighbors in this
largely well kept working class community.

Speaker 11 (17:00):
The house is his castle, and you can't go in
the man's house. I mean, you knew what you're getting into.
You don't know if the man's armed or not, you know,
and that's just a risk you take.

Speaker 5 (17:10):
Speaking Yeah, I love that guy too. These are pretty
damn good ones today.

Speaker 24 (17:15):
King Ever so briefly to reporters, the man who shot
the intruder told.

Speaker 13 (17:18):
Me he felt bad.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
What do you feel bad about?

Speaker 8 (17:21):
At a losty life. He lost his life, was the reply.

Speaker 24 (17:25):
Then late this afternoon, police returned to the home and
took the man and his companion's son back in.

Speaker 8 (17:31):
For more questioning.

Speaker 24 (17:32):
A short time later, a curious turn, detectives and uniformed.

Speaker 8 (17:37):
Officers returned to the home.

Speaker 24 (17:39):
Up went the yellow tape again and the crime scene
was re established.

Speaker 1 (17:44):
Hmmm and then what well that'll be next?

Speaker 6 (17:55):
Rannie, It's time for America's favorite family fun part of
the show, Taxpayer Relief Shots.

Speaker 1 (18:01):
And I got two words for you, Bucco double click.
That old boy needs to get alive. That's all I
can say.

Speaker 13 (18:15):
It is kind of sad that some of these people know.

Speaker 5 (18:20):
Exactly uncompetent I am, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Well it's
just my first week in radio. Yeah, I'm just I'm
just my first full week in radio. So give me
a chance, give me a chance. We're doing taxpayer Relief Shots.

Speaker 9 (18:35):
His sister, Rochelle, acknowledged his actions but criticized the employee's response, stating, yes,
he was robbing them, but that clerk shouldn't have shot him.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
They should have called the police.

Speaker 5 (18:48):
Hey, we had one earlier where it was clearly self defense,
and I asked if there are any leos in the
audience that I wanted to know if you wrote your
reports such that when you yourself off as you're doing
the investigation of the crime scene, that you know it
self defense and you want to guide the DA into

(19:10):
making certain that they don't file charges against the shooter. Well,
a leo who's I won't use even your four digits,
says Mike, is a leo. Our written reports are becoming
less and less important. Das are always watching our body cam,
and our reports are now being written by artificial intelligence.

(19:31):
It's a program called Draft one and is a product
from Axon, which is the company that makes their body
cams and their tasers. Oh well, that's interesting. I understand
if there's some knowledge to glean from a body cam,

(19:51):
particularly if you're involved in if you, as the LEO,
are involved in an incident like a shootout or even
a you know, a traffic stop, it turns they go sideways.
But if you're investigating, your clime has already occurred, and
I guess you're you know that. I guess they hear
what the the shooter has to say. Maybe they take that, but.

Speaker 1 (20:20):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (20:20):
AI is here to stay back to the taxpayer relief shots.
Another award winner involving a homeowner and an intruder, and
let me shoot. Make sure I double click. I've double clicked,
and now will help.

Speaker 13 (20:36):
Play turning the tables.

Speaker 21 (20:39):
A South Florida homeowner fights back against a man detectives

Speaker 10 (20:44):

Speaker 13 (23:05):
So what is up here?

Speaker 24 (23:07):
While a source close to this investigation tells me that
as detectives looked into this shooting, the victim of the
shooting and the occupants of this home, they came across
a quote game changer. Now just exactly what that means,
we're not certain at this point. This investigation goes on

(23:29):
at this hour. We're alive in North Waterdale, Gary Nelson,
CBS four.

Speaker 5 (23:33):
Did well one of these a game changer. They don't
tell us what the game changer is. Good grief, another
award winner. A home owner shoots and kills a man
that's being stupid.

Speaker 9 (23:46):
His sister, Rochelle, acknowledged his actions but criticized the employee's response, stating, yes,
he was robbing them, but that clerk shouldn't have shot him.

Speaker 1 (23:54):
They should have called the police.

Speaker 13 (24:00):
Good developments.

Speaker 25 (24:01):
Police know who shot and killed a man trying to
break into somebody's house, but investigators did not arrest the shooter.
Reb New Center sevens Mike Campbell live in Montgomery County. Mike,
you found out investigators thinking this is a case for
the person living in that house fired in self defense.

Speaker 6 (24:15):
Yeah, this all happened about two this morning, James. Here
in Englewood, a couple that lives up just up the
stream here on Overload Boulevard was hearing someone break into
their home. They prepared to defend themselves, and the gunfire
happened while one of them was on nine one one
lines with dispatchers.

Speaker 21 (24:32):
Yeah, I'm sorry your book or back windows?

Speaker 7 (24:36):
Sam?

Speaker 17 (24:36):
Where are your ouse?

Speaker 6 (24:40):
That caller told dispatchers that her boyfriend heard someone trying
to break in and went to grab his gun.

Speaker 1 (24:46):
He then went outside.

Speaker 6 (24:47):
You could hear a confrontation that led the gunshots as
the call continued. And do you still see the Englewood
police crews pulled up during that call. They discovered the
intruder on the ground in the home side yard. The
police told us the male resident thought the intruder had
left and checked his backyard shed. He didn't walk toward

(25:08):
the street to check his vehicle for a break in.

Speaker 2 (25:11):
He was confronted by the suspect. The suspect came towards him, He,
in fear of his life, fired three shots from his firearm.

Speaker 6 (25:18):
Corners Investigators identified the deceased man his forty three year
old Matthew Cullum. Inglewood's police chief said his actions were
unusual for a burglar.

Speaker 2 (25:27):
Most burglars if they determined that a home is occupied.
Once they're detected, they normally flee the area.

Speaker 6 (25:34):
Follock told me the evidence gathered at the scene did
support the couple's version of how the shooting happened. He said,
they are shook up but cooperative. They can't explain Cullum's actions.

Speaker 2 (25:45):
That's why we had to wait for toxic college reports
to see if anything else has factored into that as well.

Speaker 6 (25:50):
Inglewood barely has averaged one homicide a year over the
last decade, so what happened in the yard up this
street is very unusual. Police say they expected to be
about four twenty five days or so before they get
text toxicology test results. At that point, they will review
the entire case with prosecutors for any potential charges right
now though no one is under arrest. Recording Live in Englewood,

They don't have a very good description. The only thing
that we had was that he may have had a
hooded sweatshirt pulled over his head.

Speaker 17 (27:50):
It's not clear if the suspect on the run is armed.

Speaker 15 (27:53):
It's better to assume that he's armed in dangerous because
we don't know.

Speaker 27 (27:56):
Police don't believe people in the area are in any
immediate danger. Police say there were two employees in that
store at the time of this incident. The clerk that
