Speaker 1 (00:00):
Michael Jack footinfegery always makes for a great story, especially
in America when it's led by a bunch of Democrats
and it makes them look really, really, really bad.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Caution, you are about to experience the taxpayer relief shot
segment on the situation with Michael Brown. Caution, you are
about to experience the taxpayer relief shot segment on the
situation with Michael Brown. We do not necessarily relish the
death of any criminal, but we do celebrate our god
given and constitutional right to self defense in the event

(00:36):
that the criminal becomes drt. The taxpayers spared the.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
Cost of public defenders, court costs, incarceration, and continued parole supervision.
As the sheriff of Santa Rosa County, Florida says, insert
audio here, our Sheriff Grady of Polk County says, insert
audio here. You have been warned listen at your own risks.

Speaker 4 (01:01):
Mike. We call them taxpayer relief shots. Primarily because somebody's
breaking in your house, you're more than welcome to shoot him.
In Centero's accounting, we prefer that you do actually, hopefully
you'll save the taxpayers money. And because I.

Speaker 5 (01:16):
Would highly suggest that if a looter breaks into your home,
comes into your home while you're there to steal stuff
that you take your gun.

Speaker 6 (01:25):
And you shoot him.

Speaker 5 (01:26):
You shoot him so that he looks like grated cheese,
because you know what, that's one leader that won't break
into anyone else's home.

Speaker 4 (01:34):
And even though that's what the sheriffs tell you to do,
and even though you do have a right to defend yourself,
whether you're a civilian or a law enforcement officer, nonetheless,
some people don't get this, and some people think his sister.
Rochelle acknowledged his actions but criticized the employee's response, stating, yes,
he was robbing them, but that clerk shouldn't have shot him.

(01:55):
They should have called the police. You should have called
the cops. Hey, there's a guy that's robbing my convenience story.
He's got a gun in my face. Could you come
down here, maybe send a therapy team.

Speaker 7 (02:07):
To Yeah, we'll be there in fifteen minutes.

Speaker 4 (02:09):
And oh, in that case, bring the coroner too. Let's
start out with the award winners. As I tell you,
I don't listen to these, I just riding and put
them in. I listen to them just like you do.
A seventy seven year old man.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
Was this?

Speaker 4 (02:27):
Did you make up this headliner?

Speaker 7 (02:28):
I had not change the title, so that's what he
sent over. Okay, so maybe he made up this headline.
The headline is seventy seven year old man blows away intruder.

Speaker 8 (02:37):
With a shotgun.

Speaker 4 (02:39):
Whatoner if he went flying out the door like in
the movies'd be greatge Our.

Speaker 9 (02:45):
Top story tonight and only on ABC fifteen. The homeowner
he shot and killed a man breaking into his house
talks with us about the terrifying ordeal. It happened to
early Friday morning, your forty third Avenue in Bethany Home Road.
The suspect killed is thirty year old William Thomas Mackie.

Speaker 6 (03:02):
ABC fifty has.

Speaker 9 (03:03):
Lauren Vargus Joys is now live in the newsroom with
this story, and Lauren, how exactly is the homeowner holding
up at this.

Speaker 10 (03:08):
Time, Stephanie. As you can imagine, Russell Wildee is devastated
he had to use deadly force. He was hoping he
would never have to use that shotgun, but with break
ins becoming a common occurrence in his home, he knew
this day could come.

Speaker 11 (03:23):
Yeah, that's what he's doing right there.

Speaker 10 (03:26):
Blood is still smeared at the front door where seventy
seven year old Russell Wilde shot and killed the man
who broke into his home.

Speaker 6 (03:34):
And I saw him and he saw me.

Speaker 10 (03:35):
It took one shot for the intruder to fall.

Speaker 6 (03:38):
Everything happened so quick.

Speaker 10 (03:40):
Earlier that night, Russell came home from a dinner date
to find his home brandsacked.

Speaker 6 (03:45):
Every drawers pulled out, and dumbed.

Speaker 10 (03:48):
Russell says he was so tired he fell asleep before
calling police, but was awakened hours later to find a
stranger in his home again.

Speaker 11 (03:57):
The cows asked me if I said anything to him,
or if he said anything to me.

Speaker 6 (04:01):
I really don't remember. It all happens so.

Speaker 7 (04:04):
Fast, Russell says.

Speaker 10 (04:05):
Break in's happen so often he stopped calling police.

Speaker 6 (04:09):
Big must have broken in here three or four times
since Christmas.

Speaker 10 (04:13):
Now his heartbroken thinking about the man who lost his
life inside his home.

Speaker 11 (04:19):
The guy's probably about the same age as my son
and kiss.

Speaker 6 (04:27):
No parent wants to hear about something like this.

Speaker 10 (04:29):
Happening after twenty five years in the same house. Russell
doesn't want to keep living here like this.

Speaker 6 (04:35):
Take the whole damn house. I don't care it's not
worth it.

Speaker 10 (04:40):
Phoenix police say Russell's statements are consistent with self defense,
but the case will be forwarded to the Maricopa County
Attorney's Office for review.

Speaker 9 (04:49):
We're happy he's okay after that, Thanks so much, Lauren.

Speaker 4 (04:52):
Did you catch this? At the beginning our.

Speaker 9 (04:55):
Top story tonight and only on ABC fifteen, the homeowner
he sat and killed a man breaking into to his
house talks with us about the terrifying ordeal. It happened
to early Friday morning, your forty third Avenue in Bethany
Home Road. The suspect killed his thirty year old William
Thomas Mackie. ABC fifteens Lauren Vargus Joins is now live
in the newsroom with this story and Lauren, how exactly

(05:16):
is the homeowner holding up at this time?

Speaker 12 (05:18):
Stephanie?

Speaker 10 (05:19):
As you can imagine, Russell Wilde is devastated he had
to use deadly force. He was hoping he would never
have to use that shotgun. But with break ins becoming
a common occurrence in his home.

Speaker 4 (05:31):
But with break ins becoming a common occurrence in your home,
what good grief? I think I get the whole procedure
about you know, doing your report and then submitting it
to the District Attorney's office. But how many times another

(05:54):
award winner homeowner shoots, oh homeowner shoots a.

Speaker 12 (06:00):
Week in a row, and Omaha homeowner comes face to
face with an alleged intruder. This time a four year
old girl is inside at the time, and.

Speaker 7 (06:07):
The suspect is dead.

Speaker 12 (06:08):
It happened this morning at seventy fourth in Vain Streets,
just northwest of Emmanuel Hospital. KTV News Watch sevens ten
Don is live with this developing story, and.

Speaker 13 (06:18):
Melissa, please just confirm the alleged intruder has died from
his injuries, which told his name's Darryl Miller and he's
forty eight years old. Meanwhile, this area near seventy fourth
and Vain Street has been blocked off since nine am.

Speaker 12 (06:29):
That's nearly eight.

Speaker 13 (06:29):
Hours now after the shooting. And police say when officers
arrived at this scene here at the corner home.

Speaker 14 (06:34):
They found the suspect on the front.

Speaker 13 (06:36):
Porch in extremely critical condition. Now take a look at
Paramedics rush the legend truder to the hospital. Police identify
him again as forty eight year old Daryl Miller. The
homeowner tells police he and his four year old daughter
were home before nine o'clock this morning when someone rang
the doorbell. As a homeowner was rushing to go to

(06:57):
the door, a stranger was already inside their home, and
that's when the homeowner shot the man. A neighbor and
friend who stepped in to care for the four year
olds while her dad was talking with police, says the
young girls stayed calm and even told police what happened.
Again here back live at the scene. The alleged intruder
has died after the homeowner shot him. No charges were
filed against the homeowner today. We spoke with prosecutors just

(07:19):
a few hours ago and they tell me so far,
in the early stages of this investigation, the shooting seems justified.
But coming up later at six, we speak to residents
nearby who tell us what they think, specifically.

Speaker 12 (07:32):
About their right to fair firearms.

Speaker 13 (07:33):
And protect themselves against these alleged intruders.

Speaker 6 (07:36):
Back you all right, you you?

Speaker 4 (07:38):
I'd like to hear those stories. What do they think?
Another award winner, a homeowner shooting kills two invaders? Here
we go.

Speaker 15 (07:51):
We have tried to warn the criminals in this city
we will no longer stand idly by and be victimized
by your acts of criminality. We are going to stand up,
we are going to defend ourselves, and we are going
to take our city back.

Speaker 16 (08:06):
Enough is enough. Apparently today one De Trey man took
matters into his own hands to defend his home.

Speaker 4 (08:12):
Someone tried to break into his house last Friday.

Speaker 17 (08:14):
He scared them off when they showed up again today,
though it took a deadly turn seven.

Speaker 16 (08:18):
Actually, news reporter Kim Russell is live at the home
and Kim, will this be ruled as justifiable homicide or
do we know?

Speaker 17 (08:26):
That is the big question. When you talk to people
who live here on Dexter, it's mind blowing. It seems
like almost everyone has been the victim of a burglar
at some point in time, so they really emphasize with
their neighbor who lives in this house and grabbed that
gun today and they are hoping that it is ruled
the justifiable homicide. But when you talk to legal experts,
there's a gray area and it's not a yes or

(08:47):
no answer when you ask can you shoot a burglar?
It happened while the sun was up and neighbors were out,
and about the man who lives here often would have
been at work during the day working for the city,
but he was home when he says he heard a noise.
He saw two men trying to break into his house.
At some point he called nine one one. He grabbed
his gun, and he confronted the burglars.

Speaker 18 (09:09):
If we can count on anybody, it's ourselves and God.

Speaker 17 (09:14):
A neighbor who only told us her name is Francis,
says she was glad it ended how it did. The
two thieves shot dead outside. Now the question is will
this be ruled a justifiable homicide or could her neighbor
be in legal trouble.

Speaker 15 (09:27):
Chief Craig has often said, you know, good Americans that
are legally in possession of firearms are defending their homes
and they have the right to do that, and we
stand behind them and doing so.

Speaker 17 (09:38):
But police still had to take the man in and
question him for hours.

Speaker 19 (09:42):
The reason.

Speaker 17 (09:43):
Legal experts say they have to make sure he believed
he was defending himself from an intrusion that threatened his life.
If he didn't fear for his life when he shot
the burglars, they would not be justified. The prosecutor will
review his statements, but police say at this point it
appears to be justifiable.

Speaker 15 (09:59):
Is a legal CPO holder, He is well within his
right to defend himself at that point.

Speaker 18 (10:05):
I think every law in the land ought to be
back in him and anybody else up that's put in
that position.

Speaker 17 (10:14):
Now, after police drop the man off at his homie
did knock on the door to see if he was
willing to talk. He did not answer. He's definitely been
through a lot today. Neighbors say he's a good neighbor,
he keeps an eye on this neighborhood, that he's a
hard worker, that he works for the city repairing cars,
that he's an all around good guy, and they have
his back. We're putting live into Droit. Kim Russell seven.

Speaker 16 (10:33):
Action News Cam. I know you've been out there covering this.
You may or may not know this, But when the
guys left, whoever these intruders were in, these robbers, when
he shot them, they were out what on the on
the front. He shot them in the back? Do we
know did they fall, what position were they in?

Speaker 17 (10:48):
We do not know where exactly on their bodies that
they were shot, but I do know that they were
shot next to the house, right behind that pickup truck.
That you can see right there. The GMC police say
that he came out behind his house and confronted the burglars,
and when he confronted them, there was a fight. There
was an altercation, and that he shot them in that fight.
And that's why police believe that if that's what happened,

(11:10):
that this was justified. But of course they have to
cover all their bases and send it over to the
prosecutor for final determination.

Speaker 16 (11:16):
Absolutely, thank you so much for clearing that up for us. Kim,
thanks for the live report.

Speaker 4 (11:21):
I don't want it just a free for all out there,
but I'm kind of tired of all of this. Wish
you was when we get it. You know, we gotta
you know, cross the t's and dot the i's and everything. No,
you know what you break in and uh, that's it.
Another award winner a homeowner? Did we just no? This
is another one? Okay, here we go.

Speaker 9 (11:41):
One more back against crime, killing a home invader.

Speaker 15 (11:45):
And wounding a second suspect.

Speaker 20 (11:47):
It happened on Rosemary Avenue, run off Cooper Road in
South Jackson sixteen w AVD. Jennifer Ortega joins us right
now from where it happened. Jennifer the scene's clear now,
but earlier this morning police were out here investigating a
deadly shooting. Around two thirty Friday morning. The man that
lives in this house found two men breaking in and

(12:08):
took deadly action.

Speaker 21 (12:09):
The homeowner confronted them. He shot one individual several times.
The second one was able to escape through a window.

Speaker 22 (12:19):
Nineteen year old John Quest Porter died, but Romelo Porter
managed to escape. Police found him a few houses down
the street, shot in the leg.

Speaker 21 (12:28):
I think it's traumatic when a homeowner has to take
this particular measure, but again, you're certainly entitled to defend
yourself and defend your home.

Speaker 22 (12:40):
We knocked on several doors to see if anyone saw anything,
but got no answer. Many of the homes are abandoned
or empty.

Speaker 21 (12:47):
The consequences are becoming deadly for those who tend or
want to enter somebody else's property uninvited, and the law
provides for property owners to take this act.

Speaker 22 (13:02):
In Mississippi, the law says you can use deadly force
to protect your personal space, your home, and your car
from an intruder, and police say that John Quiz and
Ramelo could be related. Ramelo will be facing home invasion
charges once he's out of the hospital live in Jackson,
Jennifortega sixteen WAPT News.

Speaker 4 (13:22):
That is a good one too, let's see. Yes, we
got one more award winner. However, it is not.

Speaker 23 (13:28):
Yet fatal now of the latest on a shootings that
unfolded in the parking lot of a San Antonio apartment
complex earlier today, Police say a resident shot a man
who's then tick into the hospital with life threatening injuries.
All this happening right after eleven this morning at an
apartment complex on Goliad Road, near the intersection of I
thirty seven on the southeast side San Antonio. Police said

(13:51):
all started after a suspicious man was seen looking into cars.
Police say apartment management and two maintenance workers confronted the suspect.
Then they started to fight. They say that's from the
suspect threatened neighbors with a knife and a taser before
running away. Officers say a resident of the conflicts then
followed and shot the suspect in the stomach after he

(14:12):
pointed the taser at him. Police say they do not
expect the individual who shot him to face charge.

Speaker 4 (14:18):
Yep, good one. Another good one ended up fatal not fatal.
What are the odds. Okay, let's go to the rest
of them. Let's get started with a man violating a
protection order.

Speaker 24 (14:29):
I'm shocked right now.

Speaker 23 (14:32):
An investigation is underway after Chicago police shot and killed
a man with a knife.

Speaker 4 (14:38):
Chicago police shot somebody. It wasn't the thug shooting somebody. Wow,
must just move on to the next one.

Speaker 17 (14:46):
Responding to a domestic incident early this morning in Little.

Speaker 15 (14:49):
Village, our investigator Megan Hickey Joyce's life on the tenth
District Police station in Megan. The man who was killed
had recently violated an order of protection.

Speaker 6 (15:00):
That's right in.

Speaker 25 (15:00):
The Cocunty Medical Examiner's Office has identified him as fifty
eight year old Timothy Glaze. He's had several orders of
protection filed against him over the years, including just one
just this summer.

Speaker 4 (15:19):
Was that other Mayo.

Speaker 7 (15:21):
Black workman fighting her with food driver and a knife.

Speaker 25 (15:25):
Shortly after two am Friday morning, a woman called CPD
from the Albany Terrace Apartment Senior Building asking for help
with her boyfriend who had a weapon. Police arrived on
the sixth floor of the Chicago Housing Authority building minutes later.
That's when CPD says officers knocked on an apartment door
and were confronted by a man who pulled out a
knife and lunged at officers.

Speaker 1 (15:44):
Oh thank you.

Speaker 25 (15:48):
The officers fired their weapons, hitting the man, identified as
fifty eight year old Timothy Glaze of Chicago.

Speaker 26 (15:54):
Several times looked out the window.

Speaker 4 (16:02):
I saw police all over the place.

Speaker 25 (16:04):
Louis Withers lives on the sixth floor and says, the
sound of police shouting will come up.

Speaker 26 (16:09):
I heard the police say stop, don't move. A few
seconds later I heard the gunshots. I went to the
peak hole. I couldn't really see nothing, so I opened
my door. I saw bulllet on the floor.

Speaker 25 (16:22):
Cook County court records show Glaze as a history of
domestic violence related cases dating back.

Speaker 6 (16:26):
To two thousand and six.

Speaker 25 (16:28):
A twenty eleven domestic battery case was followed by another
order of protection, and then in twenty twenty two, court
records show he was arrested for domestic battery in June.
In June of twenty twenty four, he was charged with
violating an order of protection. According to court records obtained
by the CBS New Chicago investigators, another order of protection
was granted and that case was still active with a

(16:48):
status hearing scheduled for next month, and the officers involved
in the shooting were placed on a routine thirty day
administrative leave. Live at the tenth District Police station, Megan
Hickey Tobs New Chicago investigators sega, thank you man.

Speaker 4 (17:03):
Those protection workers really do work. A man with a gun, Uh,
well find out yourself.

Speaker 27 (17:12):
We're learning more about the man who died after he
was shot by an Orlando police officer. That shooting happened
yesterday at a gas station on John Young.

Speaker 7 (17:20):
Parkway as well.

Speaker 27 (17:21):
Shoostni Akkins reports this wasn't his first dangerous encounter with police.

Speaker 18 (17:26):
Please say, sixty three year old Marvin Martin died because
of unknown complications on Saturday.

Speaker 4 (17:33):
I wonder if those unknown complications were well. You'll find
out next tax paillar release shots will continue after these messages.

Speaker 28 (17:54):
Say Michael tying into the oligarchies yesterday and today. With
overregulation and healthcare. Every five to ten years, we have
to buy new computers because the olig arc Bill Gates
company changes the operating system. That won't work on your
old computers, even though your computer's fine. I'll send more
in an email.

Speaker 4 (18:15):
Yeah, I saw your email. And it's fascinating because my
sister wanted to know. I've got a couple of old
Windows laptops, and so I started updating them, and I
was going to put Windows eleven on them. I hate Windows.
Wasn't gonna put Windows eleven on it. And it says
that this Nill laptop, which is only a couple of
years old, cannot accommodate or for some reason there's something missing,

(18:36):
and so I can't update it beyond Windows ten point
whatever it is.

Speaker 7 (18:41):
Do you want to do some insight baseball here really quickly?

Speaker 4 (18:43):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (18:44):
And how we love to make fun of our own
parent company here. iHeart media. Yeah. I talked with Dom
a week or two ago. No, it was prior to
the Christmas break. Yeah. I joke that we run on
high quality Windows night eight machines.

Speaker 4 (19:01):
Right, and that we still have down here on the corner. Great,
it's it's still visible to activate Windows go to something. Now.

Speaker 7 (19:08):
The sad thing is that's true. I'm not making fun.
That is true. We run on Windows ninety eight Dell machines.
You know, Compact Presario everybody remember those ones. Okay, that's
what we've got down to the door. Are you serious
in talking with Dom prior to the vacation, we are
gonna get an upgrade. This is the furthest he's ever

(19:29):
gotten in conversations with upgrades for our machines. We're gonna
be upgraded to Windows seven. No, you're kidding, wish I
were kidding, You're freaking kidding these I even clarified. It's like, Dom, now, are.

Speaker 4 (19:48):
We getting new hardware and in addition to the software.

Speaker 7 (19:51):
Or just yeah, yeah, so it's gonna take a while
to roll out. But I even clarified, like wait, wait, wait, Tom,
are you sure Windows seven?

Speaker 4 (20:02):
Maybe you think it's seven eleven? You forgot the eleven part.

Speaker 7 (20:04):
It's like, wait, aute. Microsoft just recently announced they are
no longer maintaining Windows seven. They're not sending out any
faintits from Windows seven. He's like, yeah, I know. So
we're going to get Windows seven machines and software coming
rolling out hopefully this year.

Speaker 4 (20:26):
Well this year, it's Friday, January seventeen, so we have
three hundred and forty some days left for that to happen.

Speaker 7 (20:34):
How cool is that?

Speaker 4 (20:35):
I can't wait.

Speaker 7 (20:36):
We're gonna get obsolete technology here within a year, so.

Speaker 4 (20:39):
It'll still show over here, probably to activate Windows seven.
Go to blah blah blah or whatever it says here.

Speaker 7 (20:46):
You cannot stuff up.

Speaker 4 (20:48):
You'll explain to me how does this work?

Speaker 1 (20:50):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (20:53):
So you know, when I do the Saturday program, I
do it in a different studio and there are like here,
there are two monitors, and I use both monitors. Uh,
but there I notice they have little tags on them.
So there's separate servers or separate computers.

Speaker 7 (21:08):
Correct.

Speaker 4 (21:08):
Yeah, So I keep one up for show purposes, and
I keep another one up for story purposes. The one
in front of me for story purposes is frozen. I
tried to open Adobe Audition and it froze. And no
matter what, I can't control start whatever it is, control off.

(21:31):
There's no there's no way. So I noticed this morning
as I was looking at my phone, and I know
I have I took a photo because I can't find
I can't I don't have access to a serial number
or anything. But there is a tag that shows like
something then I n T, which I assume means Internet
something number three.

Speaker 7 (21:52):
It's just in reference to the actual hardware downstairs in
the basement. Yeah, so that's.

Speaker 4 (21:57):
What that monitor's taged correct, Well, whatever it's tied to downstairs,
because I checked it yesterday before I left to see
if it had unfrozen, and no, it's still if it had, thought,
I guess, And no it's still frozen.

Speaker 7 (22:11):
Yep, sounds about right.

Speaker 4 (22:13):
So when we get Windows seven, yes, see, he says,
I'm a Windows seven guy, a Windows person. I didn't
realize that Windows seven was now no longer going to
be supported, correct, And because I did find out, well,
I guess that makes sense because when I tried to
update this laptop I'm going to give to my sister,
it said Windows ten will only be supported through I

(22:34):
think sometime later this year.

Speaker 7 (22:35):
Yeah. That sounds about right. Yeah, and we're getting Windows seven.

Speaker 4 (22:39):
So now I'm trying to determine whether or not just
to give that laptop to my sister and say you
want Windows eleven year on your own? Or do I
just like I mean, I don't. Thanks, And right, here
is a little QR code that says on air text

(23:01):
and for the entire program today, I've been debating whether
or not to fire that up on my phone and
explain about the computer downstairs. And I just don't want
to start getting one hundred and fifty emails every hour about.

Speaker 7 (23:16):
I was going to say, you know what that did
for light bulbs?

Speaker 4 (23:18):
I know, I know, but why deal with that when
we have a man is shot by the popo and
he dies at the hospital, so not DRT but dead later.

Speaker 27 (23:36):
We're learning more about the man who died after he
was shot by an Orlando Police officer. That shooting happened
yesterday at a gas station on John Young Parkway, as
was shustni Akins reports, this wasn't his first dangerous encounter
with police.

Speaker 7 (23:50):
Please say.

Speaker 18 (23:50):
Sixty three year old Marvin Martin died because of unknown
complications on Saturday, one day after he was shot by
an Orlando Police officer during a confrontation at this gas
station on John Young Parkway.

Speaker 4 (24:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 26 (24:04):
I see so many cars and I said something happening.

Speaker 18 (24:07):
I did some digging and learned this wasn't Martin's first
run in with police. He was released in twenty twenty
three after shooting Miami Beach police officer Richard Clemens in
nineteen ninety five. Court record say Clemens and his partner
got a be on the lookout call for a man
carrying a gun. Clemens called out to Martin, who then

(24:29):
shot him, stood over the officer and pulled the trigger again.
Records say he ran after the gun jammed. Clemens would
go on to be the Miami Beach Police Department's twentieth
police chief. Martin would spend the next twenty plus years
in prison. Now fast forward to twenty twenty five, a
similar situation. Please say Martin was at this gas station

(24:52):
dressed in all black, holding a gun. Police say they
