Speaker 1 (00:00):
Okay, okay, okay, here's your talk back.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
I'm making my horses and chickens wait for their breakfast,
just to send this to you.
Speaker 3 (00:08):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (00:09):
Caution, you are about to experience the taxpayer relief shot
segment on the situation with Michael Brown. Caution, you are
about to experience the taxpayer relief shot segment on the
situation with Michael Brown. We do not necessarily relish the
death of any criminal, but we do celebrate our god
given and constitutional right to self defense in the event
(00:31):
that the criminal becomes DRT. The taxpayers spared the cost
of public defenders, court costs, incarceration, and continued parole supervision.
As the Sheriff of Santa Rosa County, Florida says insert
audio here, or Sheriff Grady of Polk County says insert
audio here, you have been warned listen at your own risks.
Speaker 3 (00:56):
Mike, Hey, before we play the audio, just thought of dragon.
I was just reflecting back on the segment about the
twenty somethings that are, you know, trying to find waste,
fraud and abuse.
Speaker 5 (01:11):
Yeah, what was that screechy little girl's name that told
us we had to follow everything that the climate was
going to if we we were to destroy the planet
if we didn't, you.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
Know, uh, how dare you yes? That one? That one? Yeah?
It wasn't she like seventeen years old at one point?
Speaker 6 (01:32):
How dare you yes?
Speaker 2 (01:33):
Well?
Speaker 3 (01:33):
I was just I was just thinking of her for
some reason.
Speaker 7 (01:36):
How dare you.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
I'll see yeh think Gretituderet Tuneberg, Yeah, Toumberg, Greta Tuneberg.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
How dare you?
Speaker 3 (01:46):
Well? How quickly we forget? Sweetheart? I don't care? And
we call these taxpayer relief shots taxpayer relief shots.
Speaker 8 (01:53):
Because somebody's breaking in your house here more than welcome
to shoot them. In centaise accounting, we prefer that you do. Actually,
hopefully you'll save taxpayer's money.
Speaker 3 (02:01):
Bus taxpayer relief shots.
Speaker 9 (02:03):
Or I would highly suggest that if a looter breaks
into your home, comes into your home while you're there
to steal stuff, that you take your gun and you
shoot him. You shoot him so that he looks like
grated cheese, because you know what, that's one leader that
won't break into anyone else's home.
Speaker 3 (02:21):
That's dangn good. And of course my favorite is I would.
Speaker 10 (02:25):
Tell them, if you value your life, you probably shouldn't
do that in Polk County because the people of Polk
County like guns.
Speaker 3 (02:31):
They have guns.
Speaker 10 (02:32):
I encourage them to own guns, and they're going to
be in their homes tonight with their guns loaded. And
if you try to break into their homes to steal
to set fires, I'm highly recommending they blow you back
out of the house with their guns. So leave the
community alone.
Speaker 3 (02:46):
Now, some people don't like the fact that we have
a segment called taxpayer Relief Shots because they don't believe that, well,
you should defend yourself. His sister, Rochelle acknowledged his actions,
but criticize the employee's response, stating, yes, he was robbing them,
but that clerk shouldn't have shot him. They should have
called the police.
Speaker 11 (03:04):
Stop loser.
Speaker 3 (03:08):
So we'll do our award winners first. Just because him
in a good mood today. Eight year old boy, Well
that's all you need to know. An eight year old boy, here.
Speaker 7 (03:19):
We go, Armitage bravely defended his family and his home
when he stopped an intruder all by himself, just by
using his daddy's gun.
Speaker 12 (03:27):
That's right, And.
Speaker 13 (03:28):
Lucas and his dad Jack are with us in the studio.
This morning, Good morning to both of you.
Speaker 3 (03:32):
I changed Lucas.
Speaker 4 (03:33):
Can you tell us what happened?
Speaker 14 (03:35):
I heard the noise and I got it from bed
and run into the kitchen door. And dad keeps the gun.
Speaker 7 (03:40):
So you found it all by yourself, right.
Speaker 14 (03:42):
I take it out a lot. Sometimes you're just looking
at it right now.
Speaker 13 (03:45):
It was a burglar, wasn't at Lucas. He was trying
to steal things.
Speaker 14 (03:49):
He looked hurry. When he saw I had the gun,
he put his hands up and said, please don't shoot him.
Speaker 7 (03:53):
But you didn't listen to him, did you.
Speaker 14 (03:55):
I know it would be easy to shoot him, just
aim and pull the trigger.
Speaker 7 (03:59):
That's right, that's exactly what you did.
Speaker 13 (04:01):
You shot him in the leg, didn't you put one
right through the kneecap right?
Speaker 2 (04:04):
Yeah?
Speaker 14 (04:04):
It was like bang, really loud, and you fell down screaming,
and there's lots of.
Speaker 4 (04:08):
Blood coming in because you really are.
Speaker 14 (04:10):
You started throwing away and crying. So I shot him
in the back.
Speaker 13 (04:13):
Yeah, you must be so proud of your son.
Speaker 14 (04:15):
Jag shot him like bang bang.
Speaker 13 (04:18):
Well that's one crook that's not gonna be breaking into
anybody else's.
Speaker 14 (04:22):
Yeah, they wouldn't stop talking, So then I shutof.
Speaker 13 (04:25):
Well, how did you manage to Lucas.
Speaker 14 (04:26):
Either you shoot at the temples and pulled down, or
you shoot at the side of the skull wall.
Speaker 3 (04:30):
It's the weakest part of the skull.
Speaker 14 (04:31):
He's right, that's very sophistic Yeah, but then you started
screaming and each one of his fingers and then he
stopped screaming.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
Probably, Michael, is that real?
Speaker 15 (04:47):
It was sent to us by our associate producer, So
I did not verify because he is usually pretty good
at that.
Speaker 3 (04:59):
I and what to say. Uh, I'm glad the kid
knows how to use a gun. The kid seems a
little too giddy.
Speaker 15 (05:09):
About, and those hosts sound a little bit too giddy about.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 15 (05:15):
Yeah, So we're gonna be uh just like our Democrat
friends here and say this is not our responsibility. We're
just taking this from from our normal.
Speaker 3 (05:30):
Did we catch where did we catch the call letters
or anything?
Speaker 7 (05:33):
Armitage bravely defended his family and his home when he
stopped an intruder all by himself, just by using his
daddy's gun.
Speaker 13 (05:40):
That's right, And Lucas and his dad Jack are with
us in the studio this morning. Good morning to both
of you. God now Lucas, can you tell us what happened?
Speaker 3 (05:48):
Okay, Lucas, tell us what happened.
Speaker 14 (05:52):
I heard the noise and I got it from bed
and learned to the kitchen drew a dad keeps the car.
Speaker 3 (05:57):
So you found ran to the kitchen drawer where dad
keeps the gun.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
Is it?
Speaker 3 (06:01):
What is it? What the kid says?
Speaker 14 (06:04):
Ran to the under where dad keeps the gun.
Speaker 7 (06:08):
So you found it all by yourself, right.
Speaker 14 (06:10):
I take it out a lot. Sometimes you just look
at it right now.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
Uh, I picked at it a lot. I just sometimes
just look at it.
Speaker 13 (06:21):
It was a burglar, wasn't it, Lucas.
Speaker 3 (06:23):
He was trying to Now that's weird. It was a burglar,
wasn't it? Deal things?
Speaker 14 (06:29):
When you saw I had the gun, he put his
hands up and said, please don't shoot.
Speaker 7 (06:33):
But you didn't listen to him, did you.
Speaker 14 (06:35):
I know it would be easy to shoot him, just
aim and pull the trigger.
Speaker 3 (06:40):
Holy crap.
Speaker 15 (06:41):
So I just went back to our email from our
producer who sends these, and clicked on the link again
to that that video that didn't notice this the first
time when I was recording this into the system. Comes
from the Instagram page of the Onion the chance key,
(07:10):
you got some splaining to do.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
You got some splaining to do here, bucko. That to me,
it was just so over the top, and it gets like, explain,
I don't listen to these before I play them.
Speaker 15 (07:22):
And as much as I am the producer of the show,
I really should, but I just hit the record button
and let it play while I do other tasks because
I've got more to do than just copy these in
and these have to be recorded in real time, so
I just hit the record, mute it, and then go
about my business producing the show. So I don't always
(07:43):
get to listen to these either. The chanky yeah, the
chance ky.
Speaker 3 (07:49):
Ye, you've got some splaining to do their buco. All right,
We'll move on to another award winner. A homeowner I.
Speaker 5 (07:57):
Think every and I had a confrontation with an intruder
turn deadly in southwest Philadelphia.
Speaker 16 (08:01):
Police say the homeowner fired the fatal shot at the
stranger at the front door. Action News reporter Catherine Scott
is live at police headquarters with what we know so far.
Good morning, Good morning, And after the shooting, the homeowners
remained on the scene. They were cooborating with authorities, and
police say they took them here to police.
Speaker 6 (08:20):
Headquarters for further interview. You could see police examining the
door of this home in southwest Philadelphia collecting evidence after
a homeowner told police he fatally shot a sixty four
year old man who was trying to break into his house.
Had happened shortly before eleven last night on Cobbs Creek
Parkway near Cedarhurst.
Speaker 17 (08:38):
The homeowners who were in the house at the time
they saw orned a ring camera that somebody was tampering
with the front door.
Speaker 6 (08:47):
Only the husband and wife were home, both also in
their sixties. Police say the husband confronted the man, who
then broke in through the front door. Investigators found fresh
damage to the wooden doors and a ring camera pulled
from the wall.
Speaker 17 (09:00):
After breaking into the front door of the property being
confronted by the homeowner, That's when the homeowner fired one shot,
striking the sixty four year old who had just broken
into the house, and he collapsed great inside of the
enclosed front porch. That's where police found them.
Speaker 6 (09:19):
Police took him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
He has not been identified yet, but authorities say that
the homeowners did not recognize him. Where I have a
police headquarters. Catherine Scott, Channel six Action News.
Speaker 3 (09:30):
Now, that's that's legit and a good one. We have
a text from Goubma number seventy one ninety five that says, Mike,
that is a fifteen year old fifteen year old onion parody.
Thekanski got some splaining to do, Bucko. But it's a
(09:51):
great lesson too. I knew instantly that could not possibly
have been true. It was just it was it fit
too many of what I would consider to be the
anti gunners take on how responsible gun owners act and
(10:12):
think about their firearms. Okay, next award winner a Tesla driver.
This is local. I think a Tesla driver found not
guilty of Well.
Speaker 13 (10:26):
The man who shot and killed another man at a
Tesla charging station in Edgewater officially found not guilty a.
Speaker 6 (10:32):
Jury ruling in favor of Jeremy Smith's self defense.
Speaker 3 (10:34):
Please.
Speaker 6 (10:35):
Our Nicole Fierro is live with the latest.
Speaker 18 (10:37):
Nicole, and the jury did get this case for deliberation
yesterday afternoon. In less than twenty four hours later, we
were back here for the verdict around eleven o'clock this morning,
and since then we've heard from the DA over this case,
along with those very close.
Speaker 19 (10:53):
To the man who was killed's family.
Speaker 18 (10:57):
After a six day trial, in just a few hours
of liberations.
Speaker 8 (11:01):
Would the jury find the defendant, Jeremy Allen Smith not guilty.
Speaker 18 (11:04):
Not guilty of second degree murder and manslaughter and the
death of thirty three year old Adam Fresquez in May
of twenty twenty three. The case came down to self
defense or not after please say, a road rage incident
between Smith and Fresquez, both driving Tesla's, led to Fresquez
being maced and shot twice in the back by Smith.
Speaker 20 (11:22):
I personally feel like this individual has more rights than
my deceased brother who was maced and shot in the
back twice.
Speaker 18 (11:31):
Fresquez his family speaking to us for the first of
several times back in September of twenty twenty three, when
Smith hadn't been arrested yet. It took seven months for
police to arrest and identify Smith to the public. Please
allege that in a video, Fresquez was seen walking towards
smith Tesla and less than a minute later he could
be seen stumbling. Smith is then on video pulling out
(11:52):
of the parking lot and driving east. Please say, within
minute Smith called nine one one reporting what he did.
After he says the other man pulled a gun on him.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
He gave me an ultimatum.
Speaker 21 (12:01):
He told me now to get out of the car
or he's going to shoot me in my face.
Speaker 18 (12:05):
This is Smith's exclusive interview with Fox already won back
in January of last year after his arrest. Please say
they found evidence showing Frescu's never pulled out his gun
and autopsy also showed Frescuz had cocaine and fetanyl in
his blood. Following the jury's decision, we're hearing from the
Assistant DA Jennifer Rhodes. She says, from the beginning, we
believe this case and we're compelled to present the evidence
(12:27):
that contradicted the defendant self defense claim. The complexity surrounding
self defense claims are often best addressed by a jury.
The Denver Justice Project, standing alongside the Frescas family, says
his family's left with an unimaginable loss and a system
that by design allows victims who look like Adam to
fall through the cracks. Now, we did reach out to
(12:50):
the Frescas family directly, also the mother of Jeremy Smith,
hoping to get their sides if they do.
Speaker 6 (12:56):
Want to speak.
Speaker 19 (12:57):
Any updates, We'll have them on air and online.
Speaker 18 (13:00):
Rewarding life here in Jefferson County. Nicole Fierro, Fox thirty one.
Speaker 3 (13:03):
I would just say that if you present a case
to a jury and your defense of self defense and
the jury agrees and finds you not guilty, I take
that to the bank. Another award winner, however, it is
non fatal.
Speaker 22 (13:21):
Caldwell County deputy say that a man decided to take
matters into his own hands after someone repeatedly broke into
his home while he was at church yesterday. The seventy
two year old waited inside armed with a gun when
someone broke in. This time, he fired shots at them.
Investigators told I Witness News before to Dave Ferty that
the suspect he shot is his grandson.
Speaker 23 (13:43):
That grandfather told me he had been broken into before
while at church, so instead of going to church Sunday morning,
he decided to stay home to keep an eye on things.
Deputies told us during that church service, someone did break
into the home on Indian Grave Road. Investigators say that's
when seventy two year old Havard Oliver shot the intruder,
who turned out to be his twenty eight year old grandson.
(14:05):
Deputies are not releasing the grandson's name, but did tell
us he was shot with a twenty two pistol in
the midsection inside the home and had to be airlifted
to Carolina's Medical Center. Neighbors were stunned to hear news
of the shooting.
Speaker 3 (14:17):
It's just very very tragic.
Speaker 24 (14:18):
I mean, for something like that to happen in this area,
close by here as I've lived here for thirty seven years,
so it just is unbelievable.
Speaker 23 (14:26):
And deputies say the injuries are not life threatening, but
so far they have not been able to interview that grandson,
who remains hospitalized down at Carolina's Medical Center. Once they
get their investigation completed, they plan on forwarding it to
the district attorney to let him decide on charges. Reporting
from Caldwell County on Day farity, Channel nine eyewitness news.
Speaker 3 (14:45):
Man, that was a good one. Okay, let's see one
more award winner. A resident some mi braations into the department.
Don't do that.
Speaker 25 (14:55):
A homicide investigation is underway after police say a resident
forced their way into an upstairs apartment, only to be
met with gun fire. The incident happened this afternoon at
the forty eight hundred block of La Edunc.
Speaker 26 (15:07):
In a four family flat with Saint Louis eleven.
Speaker 25 (15:10):
News arrived, Crime lab officers were seen carrying four large
evidence bags to their trucks. Caution tape surrounded the building
and at least four police cars were on the scene
as officers spoke with residents. Police told Saint Louis eleven
News that it appears the downstairs resident broke in through
the back door of the upstairs residence. The upstairs resident
then fatally shot the intruder. Investigators believe it was a
(15:33):
case of forced entry, but they are still piecing together
what led up to the shooting.
Speaker 27 (15:39):
Yeh, And I was surprised when I came home, you know,
and I've seen the could I followed the police cause
I and I was like, okay, they got tape around
or some seriously happened. I mean, there's a lot of
shooting that goes on in this neighborhood that you hear
but never to see it. Actually, no, that's pretty good. Yeah,
(15:59):
love it.
Speaker 3 (15:59):
Jee. There's a lot of shooting goes on in this neighborhood.
Speaker 27 (16:04):
I mean, there's a lot of shooting that goes on
in this neighborhood that you hear but never to see it.
Speaker 3 (16:10):
Actually No.
Speaker 25 (16:12):
Police received the call around two thirty pm Sunday and
are still investigating, so we'll bring you any updates as
they come in.
Speaker 3 (16:19):
Yeah, there's a lot of shooting going on in this neighborhood,
but you'll hardly ever see it. It's something else. Uh,
two armed thugs and a garbage truck. Owonder for was
Trump's garbage truck?
Speaker 28 (16:31):
Yeah, the shooting took place around five fifteen this morning
in this alleyway behind me here, just steps away from
a high school. An employee tells me, though class was
not in session today.
Speaker 29 (16:45):
People shots from.
Speaker 3 (16:47):
You try to rob it.
Speaker 30 (16:49):
Two suspects, police to say, trying to rob a twenty
eight year old garbage truck driver collecting trash near Arthington
and Homan in the Home and Square neighborhood this morning.
The victim, according to Lease, is a concealed carry license holder,
and exchanged gunfire with the suspects, shooting and killing one
of the offenders, a forty two year old man, and
(17:09):
critically injuring a twenty year old. The second suspect was
shot in the neck and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital.
Two weapons were recovered from the rainy scene, a gun
seen lying on the ground, the garbage truck belonging to
flood Brother's disposal. You have not been able to reach
the owners for common this morning, and the truck driver
(17:33):
was not heard in the incident this morning, as Area
four detectives are still investigating.
Speaker 3 (17:38):
Yeah, that's pretty good too. Let's say, let's jump up
here and do that's too long. That's too long, lie,
how long we've talked about They're too long before the
just they're all too long. So back to the Texas
(18:00):
did real quickly. Somebody wanted to know if that parody
was from Home Alone. But you saw it on the onion, right,
the onion, Yeah, the onion. It does sound like a scene.
How the Home Alone doesn't. He'll be right back with
more tax by reliefship.
Speaker 1 (18:15):
Hey, Mike, the Senate is voting on SB three today,
or at least talking about it, and the co sponsor,
Senator Jeff Bridges, is invoking your favorite comparison to limit
rights about the protection of free speech and fire in
a theater, invoking the name of Supreme Court Justice Oliver
(18:40):
Wendell Holmes, I think you should go off on it.
Speaker 3 (18:47):
Yeah, I'll tell you how. I'll go off on it
by playing you about a violent arm robber get shot
and killed by a barbershop employee. How about that? You
know why, because right now we're doing tax by relief shots.
Speaker 8 (19:00):
Somebody's breaking in your house here, more than welcome to
shoot him in centerra's accounting.
Speaker 3 (19:04):
We prefer that you do.
Speaker 8 (19:05):
Actually, hopefully you'll save the taxpayers money.
Speaker 3 (19:07):
And that's what we're doing right now here we go.
Speaker 31 (19:11):
And developing this morning, police saved man is dead after
tried to rob a barber shop.
Speaker 19 (19:15):
And it's happened last night around seven thirty on the
north side between Blanco and West Road KIS five.
Speaker 31 (19:21):
Zerol Stademayer joins US Live this morning an earl. Officers
on the scene say that the worker was armed and
he was just defending himself and others.
Speaker 32 (19:36):
Good morning, Barrier, absolutely right. Police say that the man
came into the barber's shop and pistol up the worker
after asking four wallets and purses, and when the worker
was on the ground, police were told that the man
had zip ties and that he was threatening to tie
up a female worker. So when that moment, Police say,
the worker, who had a concealed weapon, decided to protect
(19:56):
himself and others in the sore.
Speaker 33 (19:59):
Our person comes in and it starts trying to subdue
their victims and then produced zip ties. That means at
that point the victims are then they're rendered helpless. They're
at the mercy of the suspect and he had every
right to use deadly force to defend himself and as
his coworker's safety.
Speaker 32 (20:21):
Police say this attempted robbery happened last night around seven
thirty at the barbershop in the two thousand block of
Bassie Road with officers showed up. They say they found
the alleged robber with several gunshot wounds. He was taken
to the hospital and pronounced dead. Police are looking through
surveillance to see what exactly happened, but right now the
worker isn't facing charges for deadly force. So now we're
(20:43):
working to find out the identity of the alleged ropper.
So whenever we get any more info from the medical
Examiner's office, we'll be sure to keep you posted in
the newsroom.
Speaker 3 (20:52):
All side of Americans five, Yeah, it's great when employees
were able to protect their customers see we'll get to
the second ranked textpay relief shots and here we go
with the popo in NI Supermarket.
Speaker 34 (21:10):
Good evening, thanks for joining us. At eleven. We begin
tonight with breaking news. Three people are dead following a
hail of gunfire inside the Martin's grocery store in the
heart of Elkhart. The dead include the suspected gunmen and
two victims.
Speaker 3 (21:22):
Who were in the store.
Speaker 34 (21:24):
Two Elkhart Police officers were also shot, and we're transported
to Memorial Hospital in South Bend. Natascha Cassal has been
in l cart since shortly after the incident and joins
us live after speaking with police.
Speaker 24 (21:36):
Natasha George, It's a sad day here in El Carr
as the city is learning three people are dead, including
the suspect, and two officers were hurt out of shooting
here at Martin's Supermarket. I'm going to take a step
to the side so that you can see the officers
are still here and they're focusing on this front part
of the supermarket, and we're going to take you to
(21:58):
some video from earlier today and dozens of officers from
Elkhart Police, the Sheriff's office, and the India State Police
were on the scene. It happened at the supermarket on
East Jackson Boulevard. Elk Cart officers were called to the
supermarket around five point thirty this evening. The area has
been blocked off for several hours, including the River Point
West apartment complex and Fiesta Mexicana Supermarket. Authorities confirmed the
(22:22):
shooting happened inside and outside the store.
Speaker 18 (22:25):
Three people were.
Speaker 24 (22:26):
Killed, including the suspected shooter. Two of the victims were
pronounced dead inside the supermarket at this time, their identity
is unknown. The Elkhart PI Police Department confirmed two of
their officers were shot after confronting the shooter. They were
taken to a nearby hospital and are said to be
in stable condition. The identities of the officers are unknown
(22:48):
at this time as well. I spoke to Jessica McBriar
as she was just getting on the scene. As you
can see, she was visibly emotional investigating here.
Speaker 35 (22:59):
But it is no longer act a scene. There's not
believed to be any further danger to the public at
this time. Just wanted to say our thoughts and prayers
are with the people affected. It's a said in Elkhart.
Speaker 24 (23:14):
As you can see they're still investigating inside the Martin
supermarket and there are still many unanswered questions. As this
investigation has been handed over to the Elkhart Homicide Unit.
We will update you as we learn more in Elkhart
as for now in Elkhart, Natachakasyl sixteen News Now.
Speaker 34 (23:33):
Thank you Natasha, And we just learned that one of
the police officers here at Memorial Hospital has been released.
The other remains in stable condition.
Speaker 3 (23:42):
All right now, Uh machete versus gun?
Speaker 36 (23:47):
Yes, A district attorney says the man who was shot
by police after allegedly robbing a bank has died at
the hospital. Our newest reporter, CBS twenty one's Grace Ruffalo,
joins us from outside the bank where it all began today.
Speaker 26 (24:02):
Right behind me here at Fulton Bank, it looks as
if nothing has happened. We have seen a number of
people stop by to use the ATM and there is
a sign on one of the windows that says the
bank will be closed due to an emergency. Police say
that this all began at Fulton Bank on South Duke
Street with a robbery. Police say man with a machete
(24:22):
rob the bank around ten am and it's not clear
if he got away with any money. When police got there,
the man took off in a car. Police chased him
down about a mile away to South Plum Street, where
they say he got out of the car and tried
to run away with the machete in his hands. Officers
say they told him to stop running, but he didn't
listen and they shot him. According to a release from
(24:43):
the DA's office, the suspect was taken to a nearby hospital.
People on South Duke Street say they were shocked to

of force. In Lancaster County. Grace Ruffalo CBS twenty one News,
Thank you, Grace.
Speaker 36 (25:13):

deadly stabbing that happened this morning on Fornham Street. When
officers got there, a man was hurt. Responders tried to
save his life but could not. Police say there's no
threat to the public.

several people injured, including three police officers.

Speaker 26 (26:00):
Police Chief Lee Berkhaw calling this a violent rampage throughout
South Tampa. In the last forty minutes, we have seen
this ramp from Howard onto the northbound lanes of two
seventy five reopen. As you mentioned, this is where police
say that this ended with the suspect being shot and killed.
If we show you some video, you can get a
better look at that massive law enforcement presidence that happened
(26:20):
on two seventy five northbound. Chief Burkhaw, though he says
this all started around eight to thirty last night in
the parking lot of the Dollar General at Dale Mabry
and Inner Bay, the suspect of forty seven year old
man got into an argument with one of the victims,
followed that victim to their home, ran over them twice,
and then took off. A short time later, that forty
seven year old hit a pedestrian at Inner Bay and McDill.
(26:41):
That person unfortunately passed away. After that, reportedly he hit
two other people before police followed him onto two seventy.
Speaker 29 (26:48):
Five near West Shore.
Speaker 26 (26:49):
They used a pit maneuver to end the chase, and
as the suspect got out of his car, shots were
fired and the forty seven year old did not survive
cheaper cause as three officers are injured, but they are
expected to be okay.
Speaker 11 (27:01):
Our thoughts are with the family of the man who
was killed by the suspect. Tonight, our victim's advocate will
be working closely with the family to ensure they are
connected with the resources they need as they will navigate
this difficult time.
Speaker 26 (27:20):
Back out here alive. Like I mentioned that ramp from
Howard to the North found lanes of two seventy five,
which was shut down for hours that is reopened in
just the last forty minutes or so. Police chief called,
not giving a ton of information about the suspect, only
saying that he's forty seven year old, has a long
violent criminal history, and was released from prison within the
past two years. We're working to learn more about him
(27:42):
as well as the events leading up to this rampage,
although that information will come from FDL as they are
taking over this investigation, as they do when it.
Speaker 29 (27:50):
Is an officer involved shooting.
Speaker 26 (27:51):
We're going to bring you all of the latest here

Be THROUGHSO eight on your side.
Speaker 3 (27:58):
It was a good one. What happens? You think when
a man holds a woman at gunpoint? What do you
think happens?
Speaker 29 (28:06):
Tuesday afternoon, Sheriff's deputies were called to the Winding Roads
of northwest Travis County on FM two seven sixty nine.
Dispatch got a call from a man out of state
saying his father was holding his mother at gunpoint. Deputies
showed up in seven minutes.
Speaker 38 (28:21):
When they made the scene here at this residence, they
could hear the woman screaming. That gave them exigent circumstances
and they entered the residence.
Speaker 29 (28:30):
TCSO says the couple is elderly. The man had a
gun pointed at the woman's head and was refusing to
drop it.
Speaker 38 (28:37):
Because he would not lower that weapon. Our deputy had
to fire his in order to save the woman who
had the gun pointed at her head.
Speaker 29 (28:46):
The Sheriff's office says the man died. The woman wasn't hurt,
neither was the deputy.
Speaker 16 (28:51):
It's very tough for a deputy to have to do something.
Speaker 20 (28:56):
To help save someone.
Speaker 29 (28:58):
The Criminal Investigation Team, Internal Affairs, and Texas Rangers are
looking into the case to make sure no policies were violated.
Speaker 38 (29:06):
Situations like these are unusual and they're highly emotional. This
is something a deputy never wants to have to do,
but they're trained in a situation when a person's life
is at stake to make that call.
Speaker 29 (29:20):

Let's see suicidal man suicide by top.
Speaker 23 (31:28):
Defett County DA and State police are investigating after a
call to check on a possibly suicidal man turned deadly.
Speaker 27 (31:35):
Thanks for joining us at five.
Speaker 21 (31:36):
I'm Ken Rice and I'm Christine Sorenson. Authorities say a
Redstone Township police officer shot and killed a man during
that welfare check. Eric Astandish has more on what happened
and the man who died. The district's attorney says twenty
seven year old Christopher Hackney was apparently making suicidal comments
on social media when someone saw and called nine one one.
Speaker 19 (31:58):
That's when an officer arrived at his home.
Speaker 32 (32:00):
Here.
Speaker 19 (32:01):
That's when they say Hackney started threatening that officer and
he was shot and killed.
Speaker 20 (32:05):
I heard a lot of popping, like someone was just
wrinkling a bubble wrap really fast and just popping, and
then he saw cops come up the hill.
Speaker 19 (32:12):
Neighbors and Christopher Hackney's friend growing up describes the moment.
Shots were fire Tuesday night.
Speaker 20 (32:18):
And then this scene is I just seen all that.
Speaker 32 (32:20):
My stomach just hit.
Speaker 20 (32:22):
My heart hit my stomach, honestly, because I didn't know
what had happened.
Speaker 3 (32:26):
I know he wasn't doing well.
Speaker 19 (32:27):
Hannah Merriman says Hackney struggled with mental health issues and
had been seeing a therapist, but never imagined something like
this would happen.
Speaker 20 (32:36):
He was a break kid, very smart, very very very smart.
But yeah, it's very very heartening, heartbreaking, and he overall,
I think it was misunderstood.
Speaker 19 (32:49):
The Faya County District Attorney says a Redstone Township police
officer arrived at Hackney's home for a welfare check when
Hackney allegedly threatened the officer and the officer shot him.
Speaker 2 (33:00):
To department policy with Redstone, we have seventy two hours
interview the officer and once we get all that information,
we'll be able to release more once a decision has
been made.
Speaker 19 (33:10):
Medics were called to treat Hackney at the scene, where
he later died. Now Maryman is trying to wrap her
mind around what happened as she grieves the loss of
her friend.
Speaker 20 (33:21):
Overall, I think it's misunderstood, and to know that this
had happened, I went and in my million years think that's
what even's gonna happen. And it's very sad. His mom
is the sweetest lady and his dad's really nice too.
Speaker 19 (33:36):
The officer involved has not yet been identified, but the
district attorney says he is not new to the force.
Either way, he will be conducting a thorough investigation before
determining if this shooting was justified. Reporting in Redstone Township,
VA County, Eric Is sanash Kitty Ka TV News.
Speaker 3 (33:53):
I'm sorry to do what uh okay? Domestic violence?
Speaker 12 (34:00):
So here we go, hey, Mitch Alex breaking this morning.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is investigating a deadly shooting
involving Hoover and Alabaster police officers. According to Alabaster Police,
this started Tuesday night at an apartment complex there around
ten thirty when officers responded to a domestic violence call.
(34:20):
The suspect, they say, took off from the scene and
officers chased him. When that chase chrissed into Hoover, Hoover
police joined in. The pursuit ended with a crash on
I four fifty nine around ten point fifty. Hoover police
confirm one Hoover officer and Alabaster officers fired their weapons,
hitting the suspect after they say he pointed a gun
at them. The man died at the scene. Aliyah is
(34:41):
now leading that investigation.
Speaker 3 (34:46):
