Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey John.
Speaker 2 (00:01):
As to the tip inflation theory, I've been in the
service industry dar nearing my entire life, and there's a
lot of entitlement going on that I've seen from the
fifteen to eighteen to twenty percent changes. I use it
to separate out my exceptional servers, and I will tip
them twenty five percent hands down, and any servers that
(00:21):
I feel are just doing the bare minimum, I'm usually
down in about.
Speaker 1 (00:25):
The fifteen percent range. So that's how I see it.
I remember my folks saying the same thing, which was,
if it's good service, we'll tip them fifteen percent. Now,
if it's good service, we tip them twenty five percent.
(00:45):
It's good old days, the good old days, actually, And
my grandfather told me that if it was just adequate service,
he would just hit the waiter in the face. That
was the standard tip back then. That was those were
the good old days. And if it was good service,
it would just be an open handed slap. And if
(01:08):
it was exceptional service, he would give them a nickel.
But you know, a nickel, you could you could buy
half a house with a nickel back then. Something like that. Hey,
I'm John Caldera at seven minutes after six o'clock in
for the Big Man. Is he back next week from
thee I know when he's here, he's not really here,
(01:29):
you know, is he back? You know?
Speaker 3 (01:33):
Yeah, there'll be a body in here, whether it's him
who cares.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
Yeah, that's a good point. They'll there'll be a body
sitting here and noise will be coming out of it.
Speaker 3 (01:42):
It won't be you, so that that'll be you know,
that'll be for everyone. Yeah, yeah, you know.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
I I live to chase away Brownie's audience. That it
just brings me such joy to think that will turn
it on and go caldera, Is there no more of this?
And then if it it scares people off, I feel
(02:08):
I've done something for society.
Speaker 3 (02:11):
Enough hopefully I can win some of them back. Is
starting at eight, we'll do two full hours of taxpayer
relief shots.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
Really you're taking in the next couple hours, Is that right?
That is absolutely correct? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (02:24):
Oh my god, between the two of us, ain't nobody
gonna be listening anymore?
Speaker 1 (02:28):
Yeah, there's there's Yeah, we're gonna send everybody to the
classical station. And you know what it takes to send
him to the classical station. Not much apparently, Hey, give
me a call three oh three seven one three eight
two five five. We did get real quick.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
We did get some complaining last week because the church
school shooting happened at a Catholic church that you know,
they they pray to the Lord Jesus. So Michael had
mentioned that a time or two and talked about Jesus.
But then we got an email el saying stop talking
about Jesus. Well, it's kind of relevant to the topic
(03:05):
at hand here, my friend. So they did state that
they were going to go over to the classic station
and listen to music instead of us. Wow, So all
we are doing is talking about Jesus a little bit
and then then we'll scare some people away.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
But here's the thing. That same person is going to
complain about something else, which means they're still listening. True. Yeah, yeah,
go go go figure they'll be back. They'll be back,
all right. So I'm glad you'll be for the last.
If you haven't, if you haven't catched on to a
(03:40):
little secret, catched on, good god, my fourth grade English
teacher would slap me. If you haven't caught on to
the little secret. The last couple of days we have
replayed the first two hours of my show Yeah Yeah,
which which is not as good as having somebody actually talking.
(04:03):
But I had to go and take care of dad duty,
if you know what I mean, and get my kid
off to where it needs to go and all that
other good stuff. So it's it's been, it's been good.
It'd be great to hear Dragon take two hours on this. Yeah,
don't listen to them. Nobody listen to Dragon. It's just
(04:24):
not it's not not worth it that I have seen
the emails.
Speaker 3 (04:27):
People do want me to fill in for Michael, But
it's not going to be the show that you think
it's going to be. I'm not inside like Michael is.
I'm not. I don't care as much as is either
Jimmy Sangenberger, Ryan Schuling or even John Caldera does. So
the show that you're going to get isn't going to
be the political show. It'd be more like the show
down on the third Floor where we told Dick jokes
(04:47):
all day long.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
And yeah, as a novelty, that's fun for a day.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
But all you die hard out here that listen to
khow for the real stuff, you're gonna get annoyed after
about the second day and not want it anymore.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
So I get it. I'll do it.
Speaker 3 (05:03):
We'll do it today starting at eight for the taxpayer
leief shots. But it's not it's not an all day thing,
every day thing. It's it's it's ice cream. Yes, it's
as much where I am steak and potatoes.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
Is that what we're saying? Uh, you're more like the
liver and onions. The same thing, same thing, different different,
different class. All right, let's jump into this. Trump wants
to change the Department of Defense back to the Department
of War. Before World War Two, our Department of Defense
(05:41):
was the Department of War, and in fact, it's been
that way forever. I'm not too sure why they changed
it to begin with, because the Department of War it
just sounds badass, you know. It's it's who are you
gonna mess with the Department of Defense or the Department
of War. What I like about the Department of War
(06:04):
is it has an offensive ring to it, not just
a defensive ring to it. I don't I like it.
I like bringing it back to the Department of War
because it it gets back to the truth of the matter.
You know how the left, you know, they they're so
(06:25):
good at hiding what they do. Instead of being in
favor of racial discrimination, they promote affirmative action. Listen, the
Defense Department. Their their job is to kill people, to
break things, you know. That's what the army does. And
the reason they can defend our nation is because there
(06:47):
is a serious threat of war if you're not paying attention.
That's what they do. They can unleash war. It cannot
unleash diplomacy. That's the State Department. It cannot unleash flowers.
(07:11):
It can do humanitarian missions, but their job is to
blow things up. It is. It is the department you
want to keep in a bottle and only have therefore
the in case of emergency break glass situation, so that
(07:34):
your adversaries are always worried if you're gonna break the glass,
if you're going to open, open up this department and
unleash the dogs of defense. No, Unleash the Dogs of
Defense just doesn't have the same ring as Shakespeare's Unleash
(07:55):
the Dogs of War. So I love that idea, of course,
I believe it takes a congressional act to officially change
the name of that department. Go for it, I say,
go for it now. Will it happen. I suspect it
(08:18):
will not. I suspect they'll they'll play around with it,
they'll argue it a bit, but an actual vote will
never really come up because there are there are a
congressmen who are in sensitive districts, districts that are are
going to be tight for them to win re election
(08:41):
in next year. Gabe Evans here in Colorado might be
one of those. Does does his constituents like the idea
of Department of War? No, we never grew up with it.
I'm sixty years old. I don't remember the Department of War.
My folks might remember that Apartment of War, but not me.
(09:03):
So it just it seems mean. It seems to be mean,
and I don't want to have him mean government. So
I don't think it's going to happen. I think it's
one of the many, many, many distractions that Trump is
famed for, that he just loves to do something to
(09:24):
get his name in the paper every single day, as
if that was that was going to be an issue,
as if he couldn't. So, you know how magicians, if
they do their job, they're doing things with their left hand,
big flourishes to grab your attention when with the right
(09:46):
hand they're switching the card from one card to the other.
When Trump is at his best, that's what he does.
He he distracts us with with things that aren't real.
I believe, for instance, changing the name to Department of
(10:08):
War is one of the flourishes he does with his
hands and hopefully behind his back he's doing something like
massive deregulation or opening up more land for oil development
or any of these type of things. I think he's
(10:34):
great at that. I think he's superb at that. The
whole we're gonna bring troops into Chicago, I think, is
really that. Now he might bring some troops in to
protect a couple federal buildings. That's his job, by the way,
But it's not like he's going to bring troops through
(10:55):
Chicago the way he can through d C. Why, because
DC is under federal control. It's his job to keep
DC safe. It's not his job to keep Denver, Chicago, La. Safe.
It's just part of the distraction. The man loves to distract.
(11:18):
So let me ask you this, and maybe this would
be good for the This would be good for the
text line was that three to three, one oh three,
what name should we give the Department of Defense? All right?
If war does not does not fly? What what name
(11:42):
should we give the department that's currently called the Department
of Defense, the one that spends about three percent of
our GDP, which is one of the lowest it's ever been,
ever been. It's it's ridiculous how little we spend on
(12:05):
defense in America. But let's come up with a new name.
You haven't texted to me. I'll share it with you.
We should vote on it. We'll figure out which one's
the right one. All right. In the meantime, let me
introduce this one. And I wrote my column which will
pop out on Sunday in the Denver Gazette and Colorad
(12:27):
Springs Gazette. From the New York Post, TRUMP'SDJ considering banning
trans people from buying guns. Yep, you heard that the
Justice Department is discussing proposals to potentially block transgender Americans
(12:48):
from buying firearms, sources told the Post in the wake
of the deadly Minneapolis church shooting conducted by I'm not
going to say his or her name because it's not relevant.
So this guy who identifies as a trans woman. DOJ
(13:10):
officials are mulling options for the Trump administration to take
to restrict the Second Amendment rights of some Americans. Hmm.
Some DOJ members believe the move can be approved as
a follow up on Trump's executive order barring military service
(13:31):
by trans people. Wow. One option we could see formally
declare that people who identify as transgender are mentally ill
and are not legally allowed to possess firearms. When Justice
official told CNN the controversial move has gained steam among
(13:56):
conservatives following the rampage at Nunciation cast the church where
the shooter killed two children and injured others. Let's talk
about this. There have been a series, a series of
shootings by trans people. This was just the latest. Let's
(14:21):
remember the shooting down in Club Q in Colorado Springs
was done by a non binary, non binary person h
The shooter of the Nashville Covenant School, this was back
in twenty twenty three, was born female but identified as
(14:43):
a male. She killed six. A few years before that,
the shooter at of Write Aid in Maryland was female
identifying as male. She killed three people and injured three more.
And tragically, the sixteen year old shooter at the Stem
(15:06):
High School in Highlands Ranch was female but identified as male.
She's the one who murdered Kendrick Castillo, that great, great
hero who died saving his classmates. His parents, by the way,
are just two of the most incredible people I've ever met.
They're a machine, an absolute machine. What a family. So
(15:31):
how would you stop trans people from from getting guns? Well,
you would declare gender dysphoria a dangerous mental illness, just
a mental illness or a mental condition. We all have
mental conditions. Some people have depression or anxiety or postpart
(15:54):
of depression or whatever. Would that fly? God? I hope not.
I think this is a really dangerous maneuver. And I
don't know if it's one of those maneuvers where Trump
is just trying to make headlines or if this is
a serious thing. But for those of us who support
(16:18):
the Second Amendment, for those of us who care about
the Second Amendment, let's remember that the Second Amendment really
has a couple purposes. One, it's to get rid of tyrants.
It's not about duck hunting. It's about getting rid of
kings and making sure that the power stays with the
people and armed people cannot be subjugated. That's why it's
(16:44):
so crucial. There's also secondary aspect of the Second Amendment,
and that's for your own defense. And that's why minorities
have always been targeted for gun control. The original gun
control was created in the South after the Civil War.
The first gun control laws came in the South to
(17:08):
disarm black people. Fine, fine, fine, they can be citizens, Fine,
they can no longer be slaves, but they can't own guns. Well,
often a gun was the only thing that stood between
a black man and being lynched. That's why they didn't
(17:29):
want minorities to have guns. You think about what they've
done here in Colorado, it's really an effort to disarm
poorer people, often people of color, to disarm them, to
make sure they cannot afford guns. Pass a massive tax
increase on every round of ammunition, every gun you buy,
(17:52):
and then make it so that you have to pay
your sheriff to get a permission slip, to pay somebody
else so that you can two days of work to
get another slip to buy an ordinary gun, which is
what's gonna happen starting next August. How does that hurt
poor people? So, taking any minority group, even transgender people,
(18:16):
and disarming them is wrong. Good morning, guys, this might
be the best week ever. We got Caldera in all
week and then I just learned two hours of taxpayer
relief shots. God bless this week. I'm John Caldera. Give
me a call three h three seven one three eight
(18:37):
two five five. I'll take you up to eight o'clock
and then and I'm sorry for this dragon Redbeard takes
you all the way to ten. It's not my fault.
It wasn't my decision. Don't send me the complaints. You're welcome.
You're welcome. So the Department of War. Hmmm for the
text line, let's get a couple of ideas for uh,
(19:00):
what to rename the defense department? John, Department of wrath? Oh?
I like that? Yeah, that one works. Instead of the
Department of War, we could name it the Ministry of
World Domination. That's a good one. I like that today
the world of the Ministry of World Domination invaded Alberta.
(19:24):
That could work. Department of FAFO. I'm blanking out this early.
What that stands for? Can we say it on the air.
Probably not.
Speaker 3 (19:33):
We can't say the first word, but the other words
around and find out that we can definitely.
Speaker 1 (19:39):
Say those not bad, not bad, all right? Three h
three seven one three eight two five five seven to
one three talk the story out on the then on
the New York Post as well as the Daily Caller
(20:01):
was no Daily Wire saying that Trump's Department of Justice
is considering banning trans people from having guns. Really, I
don't think so. I don't know how you would do that.
And for those of us who are pro gun, I
(20:24):
think we need to stand up here and and say no,
we're not gonna allow that.
Speaker 3 (20:30):
I'm probably gonna take a big leap here. But is
your son banned from ever owning a gun?
Speaker 1 (20:37):
That's a great question. Uh No, No, I've given him
all my guns. He plays with good all day long.
In fact, safe open for him to enjoy.
Speaker 3 (20:50):
I clearly know that one is very different than the other.
But I'm just kind of curious.
Speaker 1 (20:53):
Is to.
Speaker 3 (20:56):
Is that a thing? Is your son not allowed to
own a fire? He is allowed to vote? In fact,
Democrats knock on the door trying to get him to vote.
And for those who don't know, my son has down syndrome.
Speaker 1 (21:08):
And you know, mentally like his old man, he's probably
six years old. In a lot of ways, in a
lot of ways. He's the wisest guy you've ever met.
I think the only way to find out is to
is to do it now. On the form you have
to I forget all the questions you have to answer
(21:29):
no to on the form blankety blank. One of them
is are you mentally incompetent? And how in the world,
how in the world would you know? So he might
be able to, I would imagine most gun dealers would
(21:50):
not sell him a gun, okay, And I don't think
he would be able to. He wouldn't be able to
fill out the form, So the answer is probably no
because he can't write. So.
Speaker 3 (22:04):
And then clearly with the new laws coming up in
the middle of next year, is that he won't be
able to take the classes and get the sheriff's permission.
Speaker 1 (22:11):
Well, he might be able to, but he still had
to fill out the form. Yeah, And so he has
to fill out the form, he has to sign it,
he has to answer the questions. So I don't think
he would no so thinking about it, No, So I've
got to buy all of his firearms, and I've been
doing that for the last twenty years. That's because you're
a good father. Because I am a good dad, and
(22:34):
he's well, let's just say he's not a very good shot,
but he has a lot of fun. Actually, I've never
taken my son shooting, and I don't know if I
ever will. I really try to. He's got some toy guns,
but they're obviously toys. The NRA has a great has
(22:59):
a great program called Eddie Eagle where they train kids
on gun safety and they will provide the materials to
schools for free. They'll even provide the materials without the
NRA logo on it. And Eddie Eagle is a character
and he teaches young kids that if they how to
identify a gun and if they see a gun to quote,
(23:25):
don't touch, leave the area, and tell an adult. All
good stuff, Very simple. So I try to get that
into my kid. But it's a slight variation. We see
a gun, try to buy it, it's a different thing.
(23:45):
I'm trying to teach him, offer a low amount for
it right away before before you can't all right back
to transgender folks not being allowed to have a gun,
This is just red meat is meat, and I think
you can talk about to why are so many of
(24:06):
these mass shooters trans people? But also if you're going
to do that, you have to look at the gun
going the other way. If the gun is being held
by somebody who's trans, you also look at how many
times the gun is pointed at somebody who's transit. I
have no no patience for the trans agenda. I don't
(24:27):
have any patients for their vicious use of banning people,
shunning people, canceling people if they will not speak reality.
If they or if they decide to speak reality, that
they force people to use terms that are not true.
(24:49):
I'm not going to say that a single person is they.
There are not two of them. I will not say
they is over there. I just it cannot come out
of my mouth in any serious way. So I don't
think there's many people as critical of what they are
doing to freedom, what they're doing to the English language,
(25:11):
and what they're doing to free speech. That said, if
you want to be trans, great, If you want to
identify as the opposite gender, or no gender, or every gender,
if you want to identify as a kumquat, I defend
your right to do it, go for it, have a
great time in exchange. I want you to defend my
right to identify as I identify. I identify as someone
(25:36):
who uses grammar correctly, and that's tolerance. You do you,
I do me. Everything's great. When they come after trans
people to disarm them, we all ought to get concerned.
We all ought to get concerned, including including those of
(25:58):
us who own God and those of us who are
critical of the trans agenda, because this amendment is created
one to keep us free and two so people can
defend themselves, and trans people find themselves on the other
side of guns way too often. Think of the Club
(26:21):
Q shooting. This was an LBGT club, the Pulse nightclub
in Florida, same thing, and scores of acts of violence
against trans people. They have a right to defend themselves,
just as you and I do. Always, political minorities are
(26:47):
the ones that we have our rights for. The first
Amendment isn't so that you and I have the right
to speak the way we speak. It's to make sure
that minorities, and I'm not talking racial minorities, I'm talking
political minorities, have the right to say things. Most of
us would never burn a flag in protest because we
(27:09):
have some dignity, but other people want to. They get
to They get to do what they want. When the
ACLU fought for the right of Neo Nazis and Skokie,
Illinois to parade. That's that's what the First Amendment's all about,
(27:34):
to protect even disgusting, awful people like Neo Nazis right
to express themselves. And the same way. The Second Amendment
is not made for the majority, It's made for all
of us, for all of us. Hmmm, all right, three
(27:54):
oh three seven one three eight two five five seven
to one three talk. So, I think those of us
who have been most critical of of the trans agenda,
and they're and their ridiculous, ridiculous coercion of speech, their
(28:14):
terrible indoctrination of kids in schools, those of us who
have been critical of that should be the first to
step up and say this idea of disarming trans people
is hideous. We will not stand for. So I'm let
(28:35):
me do the first. How about this as a as
a text, John, I suspect Trump is trying to force
the left to go on the record defending the Second
Amendment from a text from our text line. That's a
great point. That's a great point. And in fact, there
(28:55):
was a story. Let's see if if that's on on
this story as well that one of one of let
me see if I got this Taylor Wire, No that
some of of course, the trans groups have to say
(29:17):
this is wrong. Furthermore, furthermore, some of the trans anti
gun groups have to say this is wrong, this is
this is delicious, This really is delicious. So there are
trans anti gun groups. Why because when you're when you're Bloomberg,
(29:38):
you throw money at anything that is anti gun. And
so now what are they going to do? Spectacular spectacular observation.
So now trans folks, LGBT folks need to need to
step up and say, no, this is wrong, this is
(29:59):
so very very wrong.
Speaker 4 (30:05):
But if they do, if they do, does it sound
like does it sound like they are pro gun?
Speaker 1 (30:15):
Oh? That is brilliant. This is exactly what I mean
when I say Trump is spectacular at waving his right
hand while his left hand is doing something else. Let
me distract you over here. I guarantee you this isn't
going to go far. I mean, this can't go far,
(30:37):
and we better make sense of it. Hmm. From the
DOJ source, which was unnamed the Daily Wire rights quote,
Democrats have called for common sense gun laws for a
long time. This seems pretty common sense. To me as
(31:00):
the insider. Wow, give me your thoughts on this one
three or three seven, one, three, eight two five five
seven to one three talk. And we still need some
more names for the newly formed Department of War if
we're not gonna call it the Department of War or
the Department of Defense. Come on, we've got to have
some badass names to scare, scare our enemies, and keep
(31:23):
it right here. You're on six thirty K.
Speaker 5 (31:24):
How as the saying as all good things must come
to an end, alas goobers and Dragon, Today's our last
day of vacation from Michael Danger Brown. Starting tomorrow morning,
Campra's gonna be really good spirits. She gets a three
hour break from him from ten to one Mountain time,
(31:47):
and then she gets longer breaks starting on Monday.
Speaker 1 (31:52):
Not bad, not bad. Yeah, it is kind of nice
if if your husband's on the radio at least for
those hours a day, you know where he is, unless
he was smart enough to pre record it. Well that's
an interesting thought. Hey, I'm John Caldera. And for the
(32:13):
big man who will be back next week, Dragon will
take the microphone at eight o'clock today. The Department of
Defense should become the Department of War, so says our President.
That has to go through Congress. So it'll make a
big stir today in the news as he signs another
executive order. But like so many things that Trump does,
(32:37):
unless Congress codifies it, it doesn't matter. It won't happen.
For instance, we've been trying to get rid of the
Department of Education since Jimmy Carter foolishly created it as
a payback to the teachers' union. It's not going to
(32:58):
go away unless Republicans make the statement that this is
not a federal issue, it's a state issue. But Republicans
cannot get the votes to codify much of what Trump
has been doing, so he's got to try to change
it to the Department of War, or should I say,
back to the Department of War. Well, it got some
(33:21):
ideas for renaming the Department of Defense, the Department of
Oh look oil, well I like that one, the Department
of Oh no, you didn't, I like that one, The
Department of Obliteration. That's a great department. Name. Today the
Department of Obliteration moved into name the Country, and then
(33:44):
finally the Department of Retribution. Wow, these are great names.
These are great names, all right. Let's take a quick
breathing when we get We've got a few other things
to jump into, including the idea that we should have
(34:05):
a progressive income tax here in Colorado when we got
rid of it years ago
