Speaker 1 (00:01):
Dragon's taking over the microphone at eight a m. That
sounds fabulous. Cannot wait, Dragon, Ah, but then Michael's back
on Monday.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
Start it.
Speaker 3 (00:15):
Caution, you are about to experience the taxpayer relief shot
segment on the situation with Michael Brown. Caution, you are
about to experience the taxpayer relief shot segment on the
situation with Michael Brown.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
We do not.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
Necessarily relish the death of any criminal, but we do
celebrate our god given and constitutional right to self defense
in the event that the criminal becomes DRT. The taxpayers
spared the cost of public defenders, court costs, incarceration, and
continued parole supervision. As the Sheriff of Santa Rosa County,
(00:48):
Florida says insert audio here, or Sheriff Grady of Pope
County says insert audio here, you have been warned listen
at your own risks Mike.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
Well, there is no Mike today. It is me, your
friendly neighborhood Dragon Redbeard. I do appreciate the words of
encouragement from John Caldera as he signed off to me.
Didn't say this on air, but hey, Dragon, I really
hope you screw it up, so I sound much better
by comparison. Well, I'll do my darndest. I do also
(01:23):
want to say I appreciate all the texts and emails
about wanting me on air, because we know that you
know that, we know that you know about the things
that had happened in the past three previous days. We
know it wasn't ideal, but that's just what happened, had
to happen, because I do know that you want me
(01:44):
to be me, but being me is not what you're
going to want for days on end. I am a novelty.
I'm gonna do what I'm going to do that I
have been doing for years and did for years downstairs
on the third floor. I'm gonna tell Dick jokes and
I'm gonna be funny, and I'm gonna do all that
kind of stuff. I'm not going to give you the
political insight that you want, and that's what you tune
(02:07):
to the situation with Mike Brown featuring Dragon red Beard
for on a regular basis. So I do appreciate all
those emails and texts and talkbacks about you know, he
William and Dragon fill in, Well, I can, I will
I am right now two hours of taxpayer relief shots
and as that rules of engagement, I will insert audio here.
Speaker 4 (02:29):
I would tell them, if you value your life, you
probably shouldn't do that in Polk County because the people
of Polk County like guns. They have guns. I encourage
them to own guns, and they're going to be in
their homes tonight with their guns loaded. And if you
try to break into their homes.
Speaker 5 (02:43):
To steal to set fires, I'm highly.
Speaker 4 (02:46):
Recommending they blow you back out of the house with
their guns, so leave the community alone.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
I am enjoying that the intro here for the taxpayer
relief shots is getting a little bit longer each time,
just because we've got so many more great from sheriffs
around the country. One here locally that I'll play here
at a moment. But there's also this is one of
my favorites.
Speaker 5 (03:07):
Somebody's breaking in your house, You're more than welcome to
shoot him.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
In Santa's accounting, we prefer that you do.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
Actually, hopefully you'll save the taxpayers money.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
And then, of course another good one.
Speaker 6 (03:16):
He asked to be shot, He demanded to be shot,
and then he forced us to shoot him.
Speaker 7 (03:21):
So we obliged him.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
I know one that a lot of people get confused
with I'll explain once I've done playing it.
Speaker 7 (03:29):
I would highly suggest that if a looter breaks into
your home, comes into your home while you're there to
steal stuff, that you take your gun and you shoot him.
You shoot him so that he looks like grated cheese,
because you know what, that's one leader that won't break
into anyone else's home.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
You know a lot of people say, hey, he means
Swiss cheese, but does he Grated cheese looks a lot
worse once you're done grade in a block of cheese
than just a block of Swiss cheese. Just just throwing
that out there. Oh okay, let's get over to our
very own sheriff reams.
Speaker 8 (04:02):
This is Weld County Sheriff, Steve Reeams, and I want
to encourage the people of Colorado to remember you still
have the right to defend yourself, no matter how much
of a mess this state has become. While the Democrats
and the legislature and the governor of the state have
created as many barriers as they can to make it
difficult for you to own and carry a gun for
your protection, you still have your Second Amendment rights. The
Democrat controlled legislature and Governor Polis also tell us that
(04:24):
crime isn't out of control, but we all know that's
not true. In Weld County. I encourage every citizen to
have an investment in their own safety. You should own
a gun and know how to use it. If someone
wants to break into your home and threaten your family,
they should meet the serious end of a firearm. The
best way to end the spread of crime is to
ensure the criminal is no longer part of the equation.
As the Sheriff of Weald County, remember this. We love
(04:45):
our guns in Weld County and we don't like criminals.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
Now take that in comparison to those our very own
local sheriff, Steve Riams, who fills in for dan kaplus
quite frequently when dan is doing a big, big cases,
getting a lot, getting people a lot of money. This
is a Canadian police chief, Jim McSween I believe. Just
take a listen to this in comparison to our very
own Steve Rihams.
Speaker 9 (05:10):
In the unlikely event that you find yourself the victim
of a home invasion, we are urging citizens not to
take matters into their own hands. What we urge you
to call nine one one and do everything you can
to keep yourself and loved ones safe until police arrive, and.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
Be the best witness possible.
Speaker 9 (05:26):
This could mean locking yourself in a room away from
the perpetrators, hiding.
Speaker 2 (05:30):
Fleeing the home.
Speaker 9 (05:32):
But don't engage unless absolutely necessary. As it stands, we
know the best defense for most people is to comply.
As you've just heard a number of safety recommendations.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
Wait, what.
Speaker 9 (05:48):
Will allow for those that are victimizing members in the
community to leave and not harm anyone?
Speaker 2 (06:00):
My advice is to ry in.
Speaker 9 (06:01):
Our play service called nine one one immediately and let
us take it from there. And we see more often
than not when people comply that you know, the injuries
are not happening and people are not victimized in terms
of injury or in this case, unfortunately, we've seen the
(06:24):
loss of life in some of these incidents.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
Is he talking about the bad guy? The bad guy
loses his life for doing bad things? No, some of
us are okay with that. All right, all that stuff
is done and over with. Let's go ahead and get
to the taxpayer relief. Shots wanted suspect fire? Is it police?
The police shoot back? It's just relief.
Speaker 10 (06:48):
Body camera video of officers shooting and killing an armed
man at a South Austin restaurant. The video shows detectives
confronting thirty three year old burglary suspect Raymond Lee Howard.
CBS ausice been across live at APD headquarters tonight and Betty.
Police say the suspect had a history of burglaries and
home invasion.
Speaker 11 (07:06):
Yes, Rayman Howard was the target of an undercover arrest operation.
Police say when they went into a South Austin sandwich shop,
that's when the suspect fired at them, fired at least
one shot, and then three officers return fire. Austin police
just released this body camera video of an officer involved
(07:27):
shooting that happened last week in South Austin. Fernando Martinez
is the innocent bystander who knocked the suspect to the ground.
Austin Police Chief Lisa Davis is calling him a hero.
Speaker 12 (07:39):
Mister Martina's your actions were very heroic that day, and
I struggle to think of an officer hit or you
more seriously entered during that but you did fantastic jobs.
Speaker 13 (07:47):
I want to thank you for your heroic efforts.
Speaker 11 (07:49):
Martinez was shot in the shoulder during the fugitive apprehension
operation on August twenty eight. Police did not say whether
the bullet that hit Martinez was fired by the suspect
or an.
Speaker 12 (07:59):
Off Everyone involved in this incident, as mentioned earlier, acted
swiftly and that allowed me to be home safely.
Speaker 11 (08:09):
This video was from a body camera worn by APD
detective Craig Prewitt. With his gun out, the detective advances
towards suspect Raymond Lee Howard. Howard backs up about twenty
feet until he's standing next to Martinez. Police say the
suspect then pulled out a handgun from a crossbody bag.
That's when the bystander took the suspect down. I asked
(08:32):
Chief Davis about APD's decision to try to apprehend the
suspect late in the afternoon at a restaurant on Slaughter Lane.
What is the protocol if they see a civilian inside
the building?
Speaker 12 (08:43):
Weighing what they saw? They knew that he had a gun,
They knew that he was dangerous. They knew that he
was a methamphetamin user. They knew that he had a
traffic gun pursuit the day earlier. He felt it was
best to take him into custody right there.
Speaker 11 (08:55):
Martinez is continuing to recover from last week's shooting.
Speaker 2 (08:59):
He told to actives he was in fear during.
Speaker 11 (09:01):
The struggle that knew he had to take action.
Speaker 2 (09:04):
Thank you for your overall support. It's very much appreciated
during this time.
Speaker 14 (09:10):
It's given me the strength to move forward, So thank.
Speaker 8 (09:14):
You for that.
Speaker 11 (09:16):
The three officers involved in the shooting are on administrative leave,
which is standard protocol with officer involves shootings reporting live
at APD headquarters. Betty Cross CBS, Saustin News.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
Standard protocol. Yeah, and my big thing, I like playing
this one whenever I get a chance.
Speaker 15 (09:33):
Stop loser.
Speaker 2 (09:36):
I mean, it just just makes sense when you think
about it. We'll do another one here. Police shoot and
kill barricaded domestic violence suspect.
Speaker 16 (09:46):
Mmmm.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
Just after ten last.
Speaker 13 (09:49):
Night, they responded to calls of a man pistol whipping
the mother of his child inside the family's home on
Keegan Drive.
Speaker 15 (09:55):
Yes, and by the time officers arrived, the victim, her
baby and others hadn't made it out, but the suspect
barricaded himself inside, starting a standoff that would end in
a deadly shooting. Nearly seven hours later, NBC barry as
Jody Hernandez is in Santa Rosa with the latest.
Speaker 17 (10:13):
Such a scary and disturbing incident took place in the
Santa Rosa neighborhood. Police have been out here at the
scene all day processing evidence. You can see the SWAT
vehicle is still parked in the front yard where that
deadly officer involved shooting took place.
Speaker 1 (10:30):
Thanks boyfriend in the house when the gillander and party
pirates are still in.
Speaker 17 (10:33):
The house and in the house, you're listening to police
dispatchers after Santa Rosa police got a nine to one
to one call from a woman just after ten o'clock
last night claiming her ex boyfriend was inside her house
armed with a gun and her parents were also inside.
When police arrived, They say the woman and her parents
had managed to safely get out, but the man had
(10:55):
barricaded himself inside.
Speaker 14 (10:57):
As officers arrived, they tried to engage in a conversation
with a suspect for over six hours.
Speaker 17 (11:05):
The SWAT team and crisis negotiators tried to convince the
man to surrender for hours. Then just before five o'clock
this morning, things turned deadly.
Speaker 14 (11:15):
The suspect at approximately four point fifty five am this morning,
exited the house, running towards officers with a weapon in
his hand.
Speaker 18 (11:25):
I heard two love bangs.
Speaker 5 (11:26):
I believe those were gunshows, either two or three, but
I heard bang, bang, bang, and then that's when I
heard people started, like police start yelling.
Speaker 8 (11:33):
Get on the ground, get on the ground, put your
hands in the air.
Speaker 17 (11:35):
Christian Bravo lives next door and heard the gunfire. He
says he hunkered down in his house but couldn't sleep.
Speaker 2 (11:41):
He heard police.
Speaker 17 (11:42):
Telling the man to come out all night.
Speaker 2 (11:45):
They kept going for hours.
Speaker 19 (11:46):
Every ten to fifteen minutes, they kept asking him to
come outside with your hands of with not to get
in your hands.
Speaker 17 (11:52):
Neighbors tell us a couple lived at the home with
their young adult daughter, and the family kept to themselves tonight.
Investigators they have not yet identified the man who died
at the hand of officers in Santa Rosa. Jody Hernandez,
NBC Bay Area knew now.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
I'm not sure did I miss something in the beginning,
because they didn't really say it through the rest of
the story. This was almost one that we were going
to celebrate, because I thought the reporter in the beginning
so that the suspect was pistol whipping the girlfriend and baby.
I'm going to replay that because I'm not sure if
I heard that correctly.
Speaker 13 (12:25):
Just after ten last night, they responded to calls of
a man pistol whipping the mother of his child inside
the family's home.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
On Keegan Drop. Okay, so it was just the mother
of his child, So that makes it okay for some reason. Nah,
not really. Oh, moving on, what are we doing here?
Woman brings knife to a gunfight that always goes well.
Speaker 20 (12:44):
Details are limited for his situation in Columbus that happened
just after five this afternoon that leaves a woman dead
shot by police. The Nebraska's Day Patrol releasing information late tonight.
The preliminary investigation shows while Columbus police were doing an
investigation in the three thousand block of Thirteenth Street, a
woman attacked one of the officers with a knife, injuring
(13:05):
the officer. Another officer fired at her with a gun.
An officers attempted to save her life, but she was
pronounced dead at the scene. The officer has been taken
on the hospital and has been treated and released, and
then Erasca State Patrol is investigating the incident.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
That's almost like, you know what's mightier the pen or
the sword? Well, we all know that the one the
gun is a little bit stronger than the kinife.
Speaker 21 (13:31):
A police shooting left a thirty five year old man
dead on Sunday evening in Munseie, Indiana. Sty Police say
that he was shooting at houses and wouldn't listen to
Munsey Police officers when they arrived. It happened near East
twenty third Street and South Mock Avenue on Munsey's south side.
Leona Stewart was visiting a nearby park with her great
grandchildren and says that it's usually a quiet place. She
(13:51):
lives three blocks away and lived in Munsey her whole life.
Speaker 12 (13:54):
When you look around now and you don't see anything,
this is what you usually see every day right here.
Speaker 21 (14:00):
One day after that police shooting here in Munsey. This
is what's left over police team not far away from
where the shooting happened, and a park right across the street.
Speaker 16 (14:09):
It's just so scary when you see that.
Speaker 2 (14:11):
Could you try to bring your kids to the park
and now you.
Speaker 21 (14:14):
Don't know I sp searchant Scott Keegan explained that Munsey
police asked Steve police to investigate the shooting. He described
the moment leading up to it.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
Prior to them arriving.
Speaker 14 (14:26):
Is known now that he was firing rounds off into
neighboring houses, so police deemed him as a threat.
Speaker 21 (14:32):
The suspect was identified by Delaware County Coroner as Jesse
Lee Robinson. Keegan set a standoff between him and Munsey
police began and he was shot by a Munsey SWAT
officer after he didn't cooperate with police.
Speaker 14 (14:44):
Officers tried to de escalate the situation and gave him
ample time to surrender and cooperate with police commands, and
he did not.
Speaker 12 (14:52):
I think if he had listened to police.
Speaker 14 (14:53):
Commands or complied, I think we would have had a
different outcome.
Speaker 21 (14:57):
There were no other injuries to police officers or anyone
in the nameghborhood, Keegan said. ISP is trying to determine
why Robinson was in the mental state he was in
when the shooting happened. Brandon Cheff thirteen News.
Speaker 2 (15:09):
You're never really in the right mind if you are
just shooting at random houses and whatnot. That doesn't seem
to be like a good idea. Another one here police
shoot and kill naked woman armed with two can he fays.
Speaker 22 (15:25):
A woman is dead this morning after a police shooting
at an apartment near You Bank and I forty. Albuquerque
police say they responded to multiple disturbance calls at the
Los Alto's.
Speaker 16 (15:36):
Loss around seven fifty three hours this morning, we received
another phone call in reference to a female who had
no clothes off. It was advised that she had two
knives and that she was saying that she wanted to
be shot. When officers arrived, they made contact with a
caller who advised them that she had taken two knives
(15:56):
away from the female, who was now inside of her apartment.
Speaker 22 (16:00):
According to police, the woman came out of the unit
shortly after officers arrived.
Speaker 16 (16:06):
The observed female come out and she had a knife
in her hand. She began to run towards the officer.
He advised her not to come closer, and at least
one shot was fired. At this time, the female has
been pronounced decease.
Speaker 22 (16:23):
Investigators say that the woman has a history of mental
health episodes, with an incident as recently as last week.
The suspect was a resident at the apartments, which happens
to be the city's first motel that was converted into
affordable housing units. The incident happened hours before Mayor Keller
(16:43):
was scheduled to hold a news conference at the same location.
He was supposed to speak on plans to expand the
program around Albuquerque. Residents were also expected to speak on
the success of the complex, which the mayor says has
maintained full occupancy since it opened last year. That news
conference was canceled.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
It sounded very familiar here in the beginning of that one,
because I believe the reporters had stated that the woman
with the two canifes said asked to be shot.
Speaker 6 (17:11):
Well, he asked to be shot. He demanded to be shot,
and then he forced us to shoot him, so we
obliged him.
Speaker 2 (17:19):
Well that's what you gotta do sometimes. One more here quickly, ish,
we'll get it started before we go to the break
police shoot and kill a wanted man.
Speaker 23 (17:28):
My fox us Chris Frin, has been talking to investigators there.
He's live where the shooting happened. With what we know
right now, Chris, what happened.
Speaker 2 (17:37):
We're Jockie Ryano both you.
Speaker 5 (17:38):
We are on Wellsburg Drive near maybel Drive here in
Belle Ridge. This is still an active police scene. Behind this,
authorities trying to piece together still what exactly took place here.
Police seemed to be focusing much of their attention about
a block down from us on Wellsburg Drive. Here we
understand the authorities from the North County Police Cooperative are
(18:01):
leading the investigation into this deadly officer involves shooting. Take
a look at the video that we captured earlier from
the scene here. Detective Benjamin Santoyo with the North County
Police co Op says this entire incident started about twelve
fifteen this morning. Santoyo is saying, it appears a chase
involving sint Anne Police.
Speaker 2 (18:28):
The Department of FAFO. That does seem to be the
consensus on the text line. There are the far out
out numbers any other text we've got for renaming the
Department of Defense to the Department of War to the
Department of FAFO. Can't say the first word, but around
(18:48):
and find out are the final words, all right, So
let's get back to this textpayer relief shot. We'll start
over since some of you may be joining us here,
police shoot and kill a wanted man.
Speaker 23 (18:59):
My fox sus Chris has been talking to investigators there.
He's live where the shooting happened. With what we know
right now? Chris, what happened?
Speaker 2 (19:07):
Lara and Johnie Rino both you.
Speaker 5 (19:09):
We are on Wellsburg Drive near Maybelle Drive here in
bell Ridge. This is still an active police scene behind us.
Authorities trying to piece together still what exactly took place here.
Police seemed to be focusing much of their attention about
a block down from us on Wellsburg Drive. Here we
understand the authorities from the North County Police Cooperative are
(19:31):
leading the investigation into this deadly officer involves shooting. Take
a look at the video that we captured earlier from
the scene here. Detective Benjamin Santoyo with the North County
Police co Op says this entire incident started about twelve
fifteen this morning. Santoyo is saying it appears a chase
involving Saint Anne police took place just before the shooting happened.
(19:56):
We're told by about twelve fifty this morning, sant Ane
police were us that the North County Police co Op
come in and investigate the incident. Santoyo confirming that a
Saint An police officer shot and killed someone who he
is describing as a suspect in this case, Santoyo telling
me earlier that he does not believe any officers were
(20:17):
hurt in the incident. The exact circumstances leading up to
the shooting are still under investigation, including where that police
pursue started, but we do know that the actual shooting
happened just down from us here on the thirty three
hundred block of Wellsburg Drive. At this point, police have
not yet released the name, age, or gender of the
(20:38):
person who was killed, nor do we have any details
about the officer or officers involved in the shooting. If
you have any information, North County Police co Op officials
are asking that you.
Speaker 2 (20:50):
Give them a call.
Speaker 5 (20:51):
Police continue to investigate the scene here. We've noticed what
maybe a tow truck starting to pull up the street here,
maybe taking a way a vehicle that might have been
involved in this. We'll see how all this develops as
the rest of the morning unfolds. For now, I'm in
Bell Rich Chris.
Speaker 2 (21:09):
Bringas Okay, I like the way that guy says his name,
Chris Fox News. Damn good. Let me do my best,
Michael Brown. That's pretty ding good textpayer Lease shot right there.
We're gonna move over to some award winners here. Award
winner home invader picks home of off duty state trooper. Yeah,
(21:31):
that's gonna go well.
Speaker 18 (21:33):
Eleven a m. Sunday morning, a typically calm neighborhood hear
the Virginia Beach ocean Front turned to the scene of
a deadly shooting.
Speaker 24 (21:40):
I'm just shocked, That's all I can say to you.
Speaker 18 (21:43):
During a struggle outside of the off duty agent's home.
Virginia State Police say he fired his service weapon, striking
the man trying to break in. Aid was rendered, but
the alleged burglar was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
It's startling events for those who have lived here for years,
like Jerry McIver.
Speaker 24 (22:01):
A little frightened because I'm not used to any of
this back here, and I don't ever expect it.
Speaker 9 (22:09):
She says.
Speaker 18 (22:09):
They do not typically see this type of incident. In questions,
who would have wanted to break into the agent's home, You're.
Speaker 24 (22:16):
A very quiet neighborhood, pretty well connected with each other.
Speaker 2 (22:23):
And kind of look.
Speaker 24 (22:24):
Out for each other.
Speaker 18 (22:25):
The off duty agents sustained moderate injuries in the struggle
and was transported for treatment.
Speaker 24 (22:31):
Very sad he didn't have to happen like this.
Speaker 18 (22:35):
Now, in line with policy, that special agent will be
placed on an administrative leaf petting the outcome of the
investigation into the shooting.
Speaker 2 (22:43):
It is there. It is administrative leave, got to be
there in all.
Speaker 18 (22:47):
Of them, unknown at this time if he knew the
man attempting to break into his home, or what that
man's motive may have been.
Speaker 2 (22:54):
I do want to give a little credit to our
executive producer, Agent Jeta, who compiles these, puts these all
together and sends them over to us to play on
the air. He does like to label the ones that
are award winners home Defense, which is fantastic, and all
the other number two's generally seem to be the police
shooting the bad guys after bad guys doing something stupid.
(23:16):
All right, here's another award winner. This is an international one.
A thug fleeing from the police dies after falling from
a fifth story balcony.
Speaker 25 (23:26):
A knife wielding Robert has plunged to death from the
fifth floor of a Surrey Hills unit block while trying
to escape police.
Speaker 2 (23:35):
Oh darn.
Speaker 25 (23:36):
An hour earlier, he'd ride at a nearby shop, but
when investigators tracked him down. He made a tragic choice.
Speaker 26 (23:44):
Storming this Surry Hills convenience store a maskeman with a knife.
The forty nine year old threatens the worker behind the
counter and demands cash. A customer tries to fight him
off with a mop, but he flees with hundreds of
dollars alongside a woman.
Speaker 2 (24:01):
With a mop. Way to go cashier.
Speaker 21 (24:03):
There was shooking because they came to him having a
big knife.
Speaker 26 (24:09):
An hour later, that man fell to his death from
the fifth story of a unit block one hundred meters away. Again,
oh darn, trying to get away from police who were
there to arrest him.
Speaker 27 (24:21):
When police arrived there waiting in the hallway of the
uni block, the male has spotted police and then has
right out of the back of the unit and jumped
off the balcony.
Speaker 2 (24:31):
Luciore, Oh darn, looked.
Speaker 15 (24:35):
Up in bedroom window, looked there and as you go,
and we pretty messed up.
Speaker 26 (24:40):
The woman police say was with him, twenty one year
old Tiana Hatch, is now facing charges of armed robbery
and resisting police. What unfolded inside this Surrey Hills unit
block is now under scrutiny, with police investigating their own
actions after a.
Speaker 2 (24:59):
Routine ar ended in a deadly.
Speaker 27 (25:01):
Full police he acted bravely and professionally. They rented first
aid to the man until the arrival of ambulance, but
unfortunately he passed away.
Speaker 26 (25:10):
Amy clements seven News again.
Speaker 2 (25:13):
It's one of my favorite things to play here for
the taxpayer leaf shots, stop breaking, loser, that's more of
a taxpayer leaf fall. I mean, when you do something wrong,
you start running away and you jump off a five
story building, what do you think is gonna happen? Another
award winner here, two thugs dress up as cops and
try and stage a home invasion. Hmmm.
Speaker 28 (25:36):
Two man are dad after a homeowner says they try
to break into his house late last night. Please say
the suspects showed up masked, armed and posing as officers.
This happened on bell Nole Drive that's near Galveson and
Allendale Road in southeast Houston. Michelle Troy shows us what
happened and how the homeowner fought back holds riddling.
Speaker 29 (25:59):
The front door windows shattered. A violent reminder of what
happened here overnight.
Speaker 2 (26:05):
Count in a total of twenty two.
Speaker 29 (26:07):
A neighbor describing the barrage of gunfires she heard around
eleven Saturday night on bell Mill Drive in southeast Houston.
She didn't want to show her face, but lives nearby.
Speaker 2 (26:16):
She says.
Speaker 29 (26:17):
Hearing gunfire isn't unusual here, but this one felt different
how close it.
Speaker 30 (26:22):
Was and how many it was, So that's when I hid.
Speaker 23 (26:26):
I said, don't let it come here.
Speaker 29 (26:28):
Investigators spent nearly twelve hours combing through evidence before clearing
the home. According to detectives, two men wearing ski masks,
bulletproof vests, and badges around their necks claim they were
police serving a warrant that opened fire through the front door.
Speaker 30 (26:42):
They did identify themselves as police, yelling police knocking on
the door, saying they had an arrest warrant and yeah,
the homeowner just did not believe them.
Speaker 29 (26:50):
Inside the homeowner, his wife, and their child, police say
he shot back, killing both suspects before they could ever
get in the Texas Stay. The family wasn't.
Speaker 2 (26:59):
Hurt, but rattled.
Speaker 29 (27:00):
Their neighbor told us she's grateful they're safe.
Speaker 1 (27:02):
Because sign for the ones that didn't make it, we
shouldn't have.
Speaker 23 (27:06):
Been doing that.
Speaker 29 (27:07):
Detective Stringer says, impersonating officers doesn't just put suspects at risk.
Speaker 30 (27:11):
Because you know, people could just think we are imposters
when we are not imbossers and could turn very southwards
very quickly.
Speaker 29 (27:19):
And if you're ever unsure it's really police at your door.
What are the key signs to look for?
Speaker 30 (27:24):
Obviously a police car with some sort of lights and sirens,
and you know, a bullhorn where we'll be announcing ourselves.
Speaker 29 (27:31):
And he notes real officers don't wear ski masks. As
for this case, investigators are still.
Speaker 2 (27:37):
Working, dude. That's a big help. Real officers don't wear
ski masks to learn why.
Speaker 29 (27:42):
The home was targeted. The suspects, believed to be in
their twenties, have not been identified. In Houston, Michelle CHOI
k show you eleven news.
Speaker 2 (27:51):
Well there you go. We'll hit another one here. This
is a number two labeled by our associate appreciator, Agent
jet A. This is local police shoot and kill armed
domestic violence suspect. All right, follows some breaking news this morning.
Speaker 13 (28:05):
One person is dead after being shot by Denver police officer.
Speaker 2 (28:09):
You reporter Brian Sharrod is at the scene now near
Dahlia and Warren. Brian, Good morning, what are you learning.
Speaker 31 (28:16):
Teven morning?
Speaker 2 (28:17):
Brian?
Speaker 31 (28:17):
You know police told us that they first received the
call of a SHOT's fire call around four h three
this morning, and then shortly after four twelve it was
a domestic violence call, which now led to all this
busy interaction you can see this morning in Denver. Now,
they said that when they went to go respond to it,
they saw a man and a woman and a woman
excuse me. The man decided to run off, they said.
Officers pursued that man and it was a struggle just
(28:38):
trying to get him down, they said, and he pulled.
Speaker 2 (28:40):
Out a gun and pulled out a.
Speaker 31 (28:42):
Gun, excuse me, and one of the officers fired at
least one round at that man. Now, they said, the
suspect that was shot, let's take it to the hospital
where he later died. He was inscribed as an adult
Hispanic man. Then police says that none of their officers
were hurt and they're going to be here for a
couple more hours as they continued their investigation. But again
they started as a shots fired call that turned it
into a domestic violence call, which led to this man
(29:03):
being shot by one officer at least one round, even
though there was three officers on scenes.
Speaker 2 (29:07):
So we'll continue to keep you updated throughout the morning.
Whoo go Denver. Yeah, we're doing great over here now.
Unlike Michael, I'm actually gonna take a break here on time.
So more text very release shots coming up.
Speaker 1 (29:18):
Next, Dragon, Do you know what we're going to not
here today? Well, Michael's gunn and you're doing the taxpayer
relief shots. Yep, we're not going to hear that's a
double click, Michael.
Speaker 2 (29:31):
No, no, no, it'll be my dumb ass telling my
dumb ass it's a double click. Dragon. I'm going to
read a couple of these text messages here because some
of these came through they were pretty good. Dragon, I,
for one, am cool with an hour of Metallica and
Dick jokes. Do I need to make a call the
Canadian Police chief? Sucks? Just sit by and watch your
family members get injured? Not cool, man, not cool? And
(29:55):
gotta love the Steve Reems statement. Of course. I'll play
those at the top of the next hour here to
rehash everything, but I want to continue here with more
taxpayer lease shots. Fleeing suspect armed with a rifle, shot
and killed by police and in parenthes here from our
associate producer Agent Jeda, Lots of gunshots. He does like those.
Speaker 32 (30:18):
I now know that suspect that died in the police
shooting this morning was armed, according to police, with a rifle. Now,
I want to show you the scene that is still
here hours later. You can see the black sedan that's
the one that police say the suspect crashed and then
ran from the scene with a rifle before he was shot. Now,
I spoke to multiple witnesses, both say that they saw
(30:39):
a suspect with a large rifle, possibly an AR fifteen
or an AK forty seven.
Speaker 2 (30:44):
The video from a witness.
Speaker 32 (30:45):
Dash cam captured the chaotic moments, and I do want
to warn you the video you're about to see is graphic.
Speaker 2 (30:54):
That means everybody gather around.
Speaker 7 (31:06):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (31:06):
There it is lots of gunhuts. Sounds a little like hale.
Speaker 32 (31:09):
The person that captured that video had a young child
in the backseat and they were on the way to
the school drop offline. According to police, officers got a
call reporting someone breaking into their home near Fry and McQueen.
When they arrived, the suspect took off, sparking a police chase.
He then hit a jeep and a police cruiser near
McQueen and Cay Coast before officers boxed him in. Now
(31:31):
that's when the suspect got out of the stolen car,
took off running and was shot and killed by officers.
I'm told it was very scary for those who witnessed it,
especially knowing that the suspect was armed.
Speaker 7 (31:42):
It looked like a body on the ground and so
it was just I don't know, it's just crazy.
Speaker 2 (31:48):
It was just crazy. What if the bullets.
Speaker 7 (31:50):
Came our direction, just you know, richocheted off something.
Speaker 32 (31:52):
Mesa Police has taken over the investigation as part of
the East Valley Critical Incident Review Board. We are still
waiting on the identity of them.
Speaker 2 (32:02):
Did they just play more gunshots over the reporter there?
Are they replaying the film or I missed.
Speaker 32 (32:08):
Some of that man that was shot and killed today
by police. Of course, as soon as we get that
updated information, we'll be sure to let you know both
on air and online reporting and Chandler. I'm Sarah Robinson
for Airs.
Speaker 16 (32:19):
And his family.
Speaker 2 (32:20):
We really appreciate those updates, Thank you very much. I
think I can get one more in here before we
At the top of the hour, man brings a kny
Fay to a gunfight with the pole Ice.
Speaker 33 (32:32):
Dallas Police tell us they got a call Tuesday night
about a man armed with a knife, threatening to harm
everyone inside this home, including himself, off of Nolwood Drive
and Far Hills Lane. DPD says after repeated commands, he
refused to comply and then charged at officers, who shot
and killed him. Dallas Police say when officers initially.
Speaker 2 (32:51):
Responded charging in, officers always smart.
Speaker 33 (32:54):
Bonded to the call. They arrived and knocked on the
front door. A woman answered, and police went inside. DPD
says they gave repeated verbal commands to drop the knife,
but the man did not comply. At that point, police
say they took the woman outside and the man followed,
but ultimately went back into the home.
Speaker 19 (33:12):
At that time, officers maintained their position. They called SWAT out.
SWAT came to the house, tried to use numerous techniques
to get him outside to come outside the house. We
also checked he had an active warrant, an active felony warrant.
Speaker 2 (33:33):
Oh wait a minute, that calls for my favorite stop loser.
Speaker 19 (33:38):
All right, we'll continue for aggravated assault with the deadly weapon,
family violence. The SWAT officers went inside the house at
that time, they tried to use less than lethal force
to take the suspect into custody, like a taser. At
that time, the suspect charge the SWAT offices with the knife.
Speaker 2 (34:03):
So are you implying that the taser that you might
have used, because it's lefth Lisa fourth, didn't.
Speaker 19 (34:08):
Work and he was then shot. He was then pronounced
dead on the scene.
Speaker 33 (34:15):
The Office of Community Police has been notified and Dallas
Police tell us we can look forward to more information
about this incident in the coming days in Dallas. I'm
Dia Wall.
Speaker 2 (34:25):
Well, thank you, deal Wall. Let's move on to let
me start another one before we get to the south
of the Art. Here man brings sears to a gunfight
with police.
Speaker 29 (34:35):
That's right, So this is a deadly officer involved shooting.
Speaker 2 (34:38):
The suspect was killed.
Speaker 23 (34:39):
At the scene.
Speaker 32 (34:40):
And you can see behind me that there are about
a dozen evidence markers on.
Speaker 16 (34:44):
The ground on Chatham Avenue. You still see a lot
of patrol cars in the area as well, including an
evidence bag on the ground.
Speaker 2 (34:51):
Again, this is on Chattham Avenue and Amelius Street. This
is all taking place here an Luminary.
Speaker 29 (34:56):
Green public park which is surrounded by apartments and students
housing for UCF students here.
Speaker 2 (35:02):
Well, dang it, I'm thirty seconds in. Where are the Scissords.
