Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're waking up with fifth in the morning.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
Huh kiss on U seven one, Hey.
Speaker 1 (00:07):
Good morning.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
I had a chance to see Jelly Roll at Nash
Wide Arena last night, and oh my god, whoo, you're
gonna love it when he comes to Cincy.
Speaker 1 (00:22):
So he'll be on here. He'll be here on November fourth.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
If you have tickets, I'm gonna give you a little
taste of what it was like to be at the show.
If you are a visual person, these pictures and videos
aren't quite up yet, but they will be hopefully in
the next ten or fifteen minutes at the tiff to
F's Potter like the Wizard. Let me tell you a
little bit about the Jelly Roll experience as a fan.
The stage itself is really engaging. I love it when
(00:49):
artists make a stage bigger than just like a traditional
high school auditorium stage. It's got two long edges on
the side where he can walk out into the crowd
fairly deep. Then there's a stage in the back of
the arena so that he can get closer to the
fans that are on the way backside.
Speaker 1 (01:07):
So that's great engagement. Wise, you can tell.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
That Jelly Roll just loves his fans more than really
any artists that I've seen.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
In a while.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
In a while, he will take time to shake hands,
make eye contact, connect with really anyone that wants to
give him the time of day.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
And I felt that. I felt that energy.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
And one thing I didn't know about Jelly Rolls music style.
I mean, I guess I really should have picked up
on this from all the speeches that we've played here,
in all the videos and some of the clips of
his songs, is that he feels very much like a
like a preacher, like the men could he He's God fearing,
that's for sure, but I could.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
See him being a preacher at one point in his life.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
I'm gonna play a clip from the beginning of the
show when he stopped down to address the crowd.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
We stopped by the juvenile next door and talked to
some of the kids and played a couple of card
downs little before the show, and they were telling me,
they said, how does it feel to sell out nationwide arena?
I said, I remember when I couldn't sell out the
Thirsty Well on the West side of Columbus.
Speaker 4 (02:18):
I remember all the knights at Scully's and now Rose
and that all their nights.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
Are just as cooks.
Speaker 4 (02:24):
Right here in this beautiful town, this beautiful state that
has embraced me as my home. This will always be
a second home to be. Ohio will always feel like home.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
Thank y'all being so much for me here.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
Thank you.
Speaker 4 (02:40):
I want you to know that there were so many
moments of my life that I felt completely helpless, completely hopeless,
and worthless. There were so many moments in my life
and I thought I was never gonna be able to
get myself out of the hole that I had dug
myself in. There were so many moments in my life
where I thought I had no choice. I could not
take one step forward, it wasn't worth breathing one more breath.
(03:01):
There were so many points in my life I thought
that was gonna be me. And if you've ever felt
that way, or if you currently feel that way, you
listen to me closely when I tell you God is
fixing the cook, doing a big way for you with
things are gonna change and it's gonna get sued for you.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
Whoa right?
Speaker 2 (03:20):
Doesn't he carry a preacher type of quality about him.
It was just so cool watching him and like I said,
interact and engage with the fans.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
Bunny was there.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
If you're a fan of her podcast, they walk out together,
and then he does such a great job with connecting
with people who work in programming departments and radio stations,
et cetera. So I did have a chance to sit
one on one with him and catch up and chat,
and he spoke very highly of Ohio and that he
was super excited to come to Cincinnati. He asked me,
(03:49):
He's like, ah, so, how's the Heritage Bank Center?
Speaker 1 (03:53):
And I was like, well, WHOA.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
The reason why I'm not going to the location here
is because I'll be traveling, but I'm I'm so excited
that I got a chance to see him.
Speaker 1 (04:02):
He also talked about his experience on Capitol Hill.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
I remember that whole speech that I had played about addiction,
and it was just great. I think you're gonna love, love,
love Jelly when he comes. And like I said, I'll
get some of the visuals up here in.
Speaker 1 (04:13):
The next ten or so minutes.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
If you're not connected at the TIF two f's Potter
like the Wizard.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
I hope that puts you in a good mood coming up.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
