Speaker 1 (00:01):
When you need to know she's got you. It's three
things with tif on.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
There's already been one hundred and sixteen tornado warnings with
nineteen confirmed touchdowns throughout the state, nine flash flood warnings,
and four additional flood watches, with many many more to come.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
Hy good morning, and we're just before seven o'clock on Thursday.
It's ten ten, by the way, and there's a good
chance if you're just waking up getting your day started,
that you haven't had the opportunity to scroll your phone
see some of the videos and images what's going on
with Hurricane Milton. So we knew yesterday that the track
would shift south a little bit further towards Sarasota and
cs to Key. It did make landfall late last night,
(00:42):
downgrading to a hurricane category three. However, that still includes
over one hundred and eighty i'm sorry, over one hundred.
Speaker 4 (00:50):
Mile an hour winds.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
It's shifted down in its wind now down to about
eighty miles an hour as it makes its way off
the east coast. About three million people from there, all
up and down the coast of Florida are without power.
Speaker 4 (01:03):
That was to be expected.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
Some things that I didn't expect, but these came in
late last night that there were tornado warnings that you
heard Governor DeSantis talking about there just now, and at
least twenty of them touched down in Florida. What a
wild movie like experience. Twenty different tornadoes had struck the
state and causing some deaths from that as well. There's
(01:30):
still obviously no total on that one, and still kind
of don't really know what the damage is. Some areas
of Flora did see eight, ten twelve inches of rain
storm surge in some areas, So I think that this
will continue to progress as the sun comes up and
we have a better idea of truly what the damage
is at this point. By the way, I have not
(01:52):
heard I haven't heard from my mom since you and
I talked to her at seven o'clock yesterday. She was
in Zone A deciding whether or not she was good
at evacuate out of Tampa. Hopefully she calls us at
seven am. I'm not kidding, this will be the first
time that I hear from her.
Speaker 4 (02:06):
So I've been with you.
Speaker 3 (02:07):
If you've got family and friends down there and you're
just wondering, worry, what's going on.
Speaker 4 (02:12):
Second and three things you need to know this morning.
Speaker 3 (02:14):
I can't quite tell if we're both overhearing about Ditty,
but it seems like every day something comes out and
something that's like big enough to talk about. Ditty is
his third bail hearing later on this afternoon. Now he
was denied for the first two times, but the judge
has been switched out, and I'm wondering if they're using
(02:35):
the new evidence about Talia Graves.
Speaker 4 (02:38):
That I had brought up. Was that yesterday or the
day before.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
Time's kind of blending on this one again. Offering fifty
million dollars for bail financing Star Island and his mother's property.
No females would be able to visit except for his
daughters or close family. They would keep a list of
all the visitors that he does have.
Speaker 4 (02:58):
And he's pushing for like an April or a May trial.
Speaker 3 (03:01):
Now I don't know, I don't know if this judge
will grant him this. There is another claim that the
FEDS were the ones that released the video of did
he and Cassie in that hotel? And it to me
doesn't matter who leaked to the video. If it was
the Feds, it's out there right and I don't know.
(03:23):
I started to think, well, maybe fifty million dollars is
a lot of money for bail, maybe the judge will
grant him h But then I watched the video again
this morning, and I'm looking I said, I don't think
there's any way, no way, no way does he grant
him the bail With coersion of witnesses and tampering and
coorsion of and trafficking. I don't know if you'll get
(03:46):
off on bail with those charges. When there's more on that,
I'll have it for you. If he stays, we'll see
a court sketch of him today. But if he walks out,
we'll see him for the first time.
Speaker 4 (03:55):
All right.
Speaker 3 (03:56):
And then lastly, in three things you need to know
this morning, Taylor Swift did donate five million dollars, not
necessarily to just hurricane relief efforts, but to Feeding America
and that will go to help several families that are
still recovering from Hurricane Helene and Milton. That is three
things you need to know for ten ten. Coming up next,
we're commercial free at seven oh five, and I'm really
(04:16):
hoping to hear from my mom.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
You're waking up with fifth in the morning.
Speaker 5 (04:20):
Huh kiss one O seven to one, Hi.
Speaker 4 (04:24):
Good morning, How are you? How are you?
Speaker 3 (04:30):
I'm still learning how to do my job sometimes, you know,
I value I value this job incredibly, but it is
still a learning experience for me as well. So I
don't really know how to handle this situation. So I'm
just going to say things out loud, and I hope
that it I don't know. I don't know if I
(04:56):
hope for anything, I hope you just don't change the channel.
I haven't heard from my mom since actually twenty four
hours ago when she called this show. And if you're like,
wait a minute, if I wasn't listening yesterday, so I
don't catch me up to speed here. She lives in
evacuation Zone A for Hurricane Milton in Tampa, and when
(05:19):
she called U yesterday to update, you know, what she
was doing. She was thinking about where she was going
to go, if she was going to go anywhere in
the first place. And the latest on Hurricane Milton will
say for three things, but you know, not great. Regardless
of the track shifted, there's still people without power and
cell service, and the roof was ripped off a tropicana field.
Speaker 4 (05:37):
And I'm just kind of numb. Guys, I don't really
know what to do, so I'm just kind of waiting.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
And the reason why I bring this stuff up, you know,
typically this show is, first of all, always has hopefully
good music that you like and conversation that you can
get involved in and use later on in your life.
But the show also doubles as a place where we
take whatever's going on in your world, my world in
Cincinnati and the Tri State, the celebrity world, the world
(06:04):
around us, and we bring it to our radio kitchen
table every morning and we talk about it. And I
don't really know what else to do because this is
consuming me. So this is kind of where I'm at today.
On top of that, my sister just texted me and
said that she had the conversation with my dad. My
parents are divorced. They live in two different states. He's
in Massachusetts Boston. She said, I tried to convince your
(06:28):
dad to put his dog down yesterday and it's not
going well. So the only reason why I bring this
stuff up is because I've had to parent my parents
a lot lately, and that's a new experience for me,
and it's a wild one, like this is this must
be what my parents felt like when I went off
to college and didn't call them for days, just waiting
(06:49):
and worrying.
Speaker 4 (06:51):
All right.
Speaker 3 (06:51):
I usually remind you every day at this time that
we're commercial freeing. You can access to show through iHeartRadio.
If you're a big fan of Jelly Roll and you're
gonna see him here in Cincy two songs from now,
you're gonna love what we talk.
Speaker 5 (07:00):
About because you're waking up with fifth in the morning,
huh kiss on us seven one, Hey.
Speaker 4 (07:09):
Good morning.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
I had a chance to see Jelly Roll at nash
Wid Arena last night, and.
Speaker 4 (07:16):
Oh my god, whoo. You're gonna love it when he
comes to Cincy. So he'll be on here. He'll be
here on November fourth.
Speaker 3 (07:26):
If you have tickets, I'm gonna give you a little
taste of what it was like to be at the show.
If you are a visual person, these pictures and videos
aren't quite up yet, but they will be hopefully in
the next ten or fifteen minutes. At the tiff to
F's Potter like the Wizard, let me tell you a
little bit about the Jelly Roll experience as a fan.
The stage itself is really engaging.
Speaker 4 (07:50):
I love it when artists make a.
Speaker 3 (07:52):
Stage bigger than just like a traditional high school auditorium stage.
It's got two long edges on the side where he
can walk out into the crowd fairly deep. Then there's
a stage in the back of the arena so that
he can get closer to the fans that are on
the way backside.
Speaker 4 (08:09):
So that's great engagement wise.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
You can tell that Jelly Roll just loves his fans
more than really any artists that I've seen.
Speaker 4 (08:22):
In a while.
Speaker 3 (08:22):
In a while, he will take time to shake hands,
make eye contact, connect with really anyone that wants to
give him the time of day.
Speaker 4 (08:32):
And I felt that I felt that energy.
Speaker 3 (08:34):
And one thing I didn't know about jelly Rolls music style,
I mean, I guess I really should have picked up
on this from all the speeches that we've played here,
in all the videos and some of the clips of
his songs, is that he feels very much like a
like a preacher like the men could he He's God fearing,
that's for sure, but I could.
Speaker 4 (08:52):
See him being a preacher at one point in his life.
Speaker 3 (08:55):
I'm gonna play a clip from the beginning of the
show when he stopped down to address the.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
I'm the way here I am.
Speaker 6 (09:02):
We stopped by the juvenile next door and talked to
some of the kids and played a couple of card
downs lit before the show, and they were telling me,
they said, how does it feel to sell out.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
Nation by Arena?
Speaker 7 (09:13):
I said, I remember when I couldn't sell out the
Thirsty Well on the west side.
Speaker 4 (09:16):
Of Columbus Side. I remember all the knights at Scully's
and now Rose, and that all the nights are just
a couption right here in.
Speaker 7 (09:26):
This beautiful town, this beautiful state that has embraced me
as my home. This will always be a second home
to be. Ohio will always feel like home.
Speaker 4 (09:33):
Thank y'all being so much for me here, Thank you coming.
Speaker 7 (09:42):
I want you to know that there were so many
moments in my life that I felt completely helpless, completely hopeless,
and worthless. There were so many moments in my life
and I thought I was never gonna be able to
get myself out.
Speaker 4 (09:52):
Of the hole that I had dug myself in.
Speaker 7 (09:55):
There were so many moments in my life where I
thought I had no choice. I could not take one
step forward, it wasn't worth breathing one more breath. There
were so many points in my life I thought that
was gonna be here. And if you've ever felt that way,
or if you currently feel that way, you listen to
me closely when I tell you God is fixing the
cook doing a big way for you with things are
(10:16):
gonna change and it's gonna get sued much for you.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
Whoa right doesn't he carry a preacher type of quality
about him. It was just so cool watching him and,
like I said, interact and engage with the fans.
Speaker 4 (10:28):
Bunny was there.
Speaker 3 (10:29):
If you're a fan of her podcast, they walk out together,
and then he does such a great job with connecting
with people who work in programming departments and radio stations,
et cetera. So I did have a chance to sit
one on one with him and catch up and chat,
and he spoke very highly of Ohio and that he
was super excited to come to Cincinnati. He asked me,
(10:50):
He's like, ah, so, how's the Heritage Bank Center? And
I was like, well, well, the reason wh I'm not
going to the little here is because I'll be traveling.
But I'm so excited that I got a chance to
see him. He also talked about his experience on Capitol Hill.
Remember that whole speech that I had played about addiction
and it was just great. I think you're gonna love
(11:11):
love love Jelly when he comes. And like I said,
I'll get some of the visuals up here in the
next ten or so minutes. If you're not connected at
the TIF two f's Potter like the Wizard.
Speaker 4 (11:19):
I hope that butts you in a good mood coming up.
Speaker 3 (11:22):
But seven fifty three things you need to know to
get your day started in Cincy six.
Speaker 5 (11:27):
When you need to know She's got you, it's three
things with TIF on.
Speaker 3 (11:34):
Hey, good morning, We're just before eight o'clock and at
nine o five I have your first chance of.
Speaker 4 (11:40):
The day to win one thousand bucks.
Speaker 3 (11:41):
I'm sure it'll come in handy at some point towards
the back half of the year. And then it also
comes with the free trip to our iHeartRadio jingle Ball
starring Katie Perry and New York.
Speaker 4 (11:50):
There are world.
Speaker 3 (11:52):
Records that get broken every single day that I never
ever even knew exists, and Skyline yesterday broke the Guinness
Book of World Records for the amount of Cony's that
were uploaded to Instagram within an hour period. It happened
from eleven thirty to twelve thirty yesterday, congratulations got.
Speaker 4 (12:13):
Them over the finish line. They more than doubled what
the previous record was of five hundred.
Speaker 3 (12:18):
So look at that when Cincinnatians come together. Sounds like
like a little bit of a marketing ploy, but hey, hey,
I love it. Cincinnati is now etched in the Guinness
Book of World Records. I would have to google how
many times is Cincinnati and the Guinness Book of World Records.
I'd be a fun fact to look up. I'll do
that for you, all right. Second, and three things you
need to know this morning. The met Gala theme was
(12:40):
announced yesterday. We always know this is the first Monday
in May. This year it falls on May fifth or
I'm sorry next year of twenty twenty five. And the
theme is super Fine Tailoring, Black Style. And it is
co chaired this year by actor Coleman Domingo, race car
driver Lewis Hamilton, Rappers Asap, Rocky Pharrell Williams of course,
(13:01):
and a win Tour and then La Laker Lebron James
will serve as the honorary chair. Last year's met Gala
was themed Sleeping Beauties, Reawakening Fashion and It was co
chaired by j lo Zendeia Bad Bunny, and Chris Hemsworth.
Lewis Hamilton posted to Instagram, I love following Lewis by
(13:23):
the way, Drive to Survive on Netflix is a great
watch and I think, no, the next season wouldn't come
out until I think next year, but it's a good
one to get into.
Speaker 4 (13:34):
He said, this theme speaks to me deeply.
Speaker 3 (13:36):
When I started my career and never imagined what I
might be capable of beyond my sport, the pressure to
confirm hold so many people back growing up as the
only black kid on the track so often that pressure
got to me. Expressing myself creatively was and still is,
my freedom from that conformity. For black people across dysporia,
fashion is self preservation. Fashion is resilience and I can't
(13:58):
wait to further expl or an Amplifly, Amplifly, Amplify, Amplify, Amplify, Amplify, Wow,
Wellness Update are unrepresented voices.
Speaker 4 (14:10):
Pharrell Williams also on this. I think that makes the
most sense obviously.
Speaker 3 (14:13):
I think it's any of the creative men's director of
Louis Vuitton right now, so looking forward to that one
and then Leslie in Three Things You Need to Know
this morning? What's going on with Troy Aikman On the
Monday night football broadcast, he had referred to Taylor Swift
as quote the missus when talking about Travis Kelcey. Then
(14:37):
fans took that as him announcing that they were engaged.
Here he was on a recent podcast kind of just
doubling down on that.
Speaker 1 (14:44):
I don't know if I cursed him or not, but
someone actually reached out to me day and said that
they might actually be engaged, So I might, I might.
Speaker 4 (14:50):
I might have wrote story that was part of my take.
So people are coming out and saying like, no, they're
not engaged or not engaged.
Speaker 3 (14:58):
The thing about Taylor and Travis is you can't mess
with stuff like that because it will catch fire.
Speaker 4 (15:03):
Anything that you say that's even.
Speaker 3 (15:05):
Like joking or just making, you know, something lighthearted of it,
the media is going to take it and.
Speaker 4 (15:09):
Run with it. They're denying it, but I don't know,
I do not know. Can you imagine your engagement being
broken by Troy a stop?
Speaker 8 (15:21):
All right?
Speaker 3 (15:21):
That is three things you need to know for ten ten.
I've been waiting all day to say that. One we're
Commercial Free. Coming up around eight oh five, we're going
to talk about Halloween and trick or treating? Is it
acceptable to drive your family to a different neighborhood to
get better candy?
Speaker 4 (15:34):
This is up to you. I want to hear your
take on it. We'll do that at a twenty.
Speaker 3 (15:38):
The best way to keep listenings on iHeartRadio when you
search kiss one oh seven one, Good morning, Ooh Beyonce
on It's Tip in the morning. She and jay Z
are not happy about Pierce Morgan. There is a recent
interview where there's some pretty lofty claims made about them,
kind of similar to like Diddy c he had to
(16:01):
come out and make a statement. Maybe I'll save that
for three things you need to know. Still commercial free. Actually,
we're just launching our commercial free hour, and if you
didn't know this.
Speaker 4 (16:08):
We do it every day.
Speaker 3 (16:10):
Coming up two songs from now, we're gonna chat about
trick or treating? Is it socially acceptable to pack your
family up, put them in your car and drive them
to a different neighborhood to get better candy?
Speaker 9 (16:25):
Yeah, I was just calling in to tell you about
a Karen I was working with yesterday talking about kids
coming to their neighborhood trick or treating.
Speaker 4 (16:36):
She was talking about.
Speaker 9 (16:37):
How they turn off their lights and close their blinds
because she's sick of the apartment kids come into their
neighborhood and piling out of cars and taking all their candy.
Speaker 4 (16:49):
Hi, well, thank you for the talkback with TIFFs. See,
I knew it. I knew. Of course you can do it.
You'll have to tell me. I feel like there's good
a little mixed back, a little mixed bag candy, and
a mixed bag of reaction on whether or not it
is acceptable to do it.
Speaker 3 (17:07):
I have a feeling people are gonna be like yeah
or no. Uh, jump in on the conversation. I heart
radio is a good way to practice your voice note skills.
You'll see the microphone next to the play button. Just
hold that down and we'll share more of those two
songs from now. Also, I want to know where the
good candy neighborhoods are.
Speaker 1 (17:26):
You're waking up with fifth in the morning.
Speaker 5 (17:28):
Time Kiss on seven one.
Speaker 4 (17:31):
I am for neighborhood hopping.
Speaker 10 (17:33):
It is what made my Halloween experience as a kid
the best. Everyone would come to our neighborhood and so
it was a big party.
Speaker 4 (17:41):
Like the streets were full.
Speaker 10 (17:43):
So many cool costumes, so many decorations. People would even
put up like haunted houses in their house or their garage,
and everyone just had.
Speaker 4 (17:52):
So much fun.
Speaker 3 (17:53):
Well, thank you for the talkback with Tiff. It was
good to hear your voice this morning. You can also
join in on the conversation when you search kiss on iHeartRadio.
Speaker 4 (18:01):
The microphone's next to the play button.
Speaker 3 (18:02):
It's just an alternative way to get involved. Second, I'm
not going into your house. If you've created a haunted
house within the house, I'm just not doing it.
Speaker 4 (18:13):
I'm not going to our professional haunted house.
Speaker 3 (18:16):
It's not for me, but good for you for creating
that for your neighborhood. That's Knett's neighborhood camaraderie right there.
We're in the midst of talking about whether or not
it's socially acceptable to bring your family to a different
neighborhood basically neighborhood hot for trick or treating.
Speaker 4 (18:33):
I think the opinion is going to be mixed on this.
Speaker 11 (18:38):
All of our neighbors love it though. It's one of
the most fun nights of the year. Everyone is out
having a great time. Last year, I had enough candy
for six hundred kids, and I ran out at eight o'clock.
This year, I bought enough for seven hundred and I'm
hoping I can make it till at least eight thirty.
Speaker 4 (18:55):
Whooh, seven hundred kids?
Speaker 8 (18:59):
What is y?
Speaker 3 (19:00):
I'm also still on the hunt for which neighborhood is
the best. If one were two neighborhood hop and figure
out where the best candy is, you have to let
me know that so we could share the good word here.
Speaker 12 (19:11):
Honestly, I feel like kids of any age can trigger treat.
At the end of the day, I'd rather them at
my house trigger treating than partying or getting into trouble.
And they're only kids for so long. They have the
rest of their adults to life. If a teenager knocks
on my door, by all means, I've reversed trigger treated
the last few years, and I bring bags of candy
and hand them out to teenagers that are like behaving,
(19:34):
walking around trigg or treating, and they absolutely love it.
And they are the most thankful group that I see
out trigger treating.
Speaker 4 (19:39):
I've never heard of reverse trigger treating. That's a new
word for me, or new phrase.
Speaker 3 (19:43):
That's another conversation outside of neighborhood hopping.
Speaker 4 (19:46):
What is the age limit on trick or treating? I
liked your point there. I liked it. If you're being respectful.
Speaker 3 (19:52):
And you love the holiday and you just want to
be out, go for it.
Speaker 1 (19:57):
Go for it.
Speaker 3 (19:58):
Seven hundred pieces of candy, though, or seven hundred kids
worth of candy, that's a big commitment.
Speaker 4 (20:03):
We've got time for at least one more.
Speaker 11 (20:05):
Open the door, kiss a candy.
Speaker 13 (20:07):
I'm say, Happy Halloween.
Speaker 4 (20:09):
Let the kids have fun. Hi, good morning.
Speaker 3 (20:13):
You're waking up with Tim in the morning on Kiss
one oh seven one. We're in the midst of talking
about whether or not it's socially acceptable to neighborhood hop
for trick or treating. So far, the majority of our
talkbacks has been fairly warm to it.
Speaker 4 (20:27):
Yeah, why not right? Hi, you're on the air.
Speaker 3 (20:29):
Start with your name of what neighborhood you calling me from.
Thanks for joining the show.
Speaker 8 (20:32):
Yes, my name is Sierra and I am from the
greater Cincinnati area and I was calling about the kids
trick or treating.
Speaker 4 (20:41):
Yeah, go ahead. What's your thoughts on it?
Speaker 8 (20:44):
Yeah? So, personally, I have lived in a couple of
different areas growing up and Honestly, we always tend to
run into some neighborhoods where folks are saying kids don't
show up enough. They get the candy and they don't
anybody to give it to. And I love it when
kids are coming from anywhere and everywhere to trigger treat
(21:06):
and just take in all the fun. So my kids
have both been in their own neighborhood and we've also
gone to like friends and family neighborhoods, and it's always
a warm welcome.
Speaker 3 (21:16):
Good Okay, what's your favorite neighborhood to trigger treat in?
Speaker 8 (21:21):
Honestly, I would say any any neighborhood is really good
as long as like there's just like a lot of
kids out and everybody's really just having a good time.
It's not really so much about what you're getting when
you're going trigger treating. It's more so just like the experience.
We want to see the costume.
Speaker 4 (21:38):
Yes, we want to give us the costumes. I love.
Look the moral of the story, great chap.
Speaker 3 (21:43):
If there is a family that just moved to Cincinnati
or the Tri State though, and this is their first
year to trigger treat and they live in an area
that doesn't do it like Mount Adams doesn't really do
it where, at least in the part that I'm in.
What neighborhood would you recommend then, just in case and
catching anyone?
Speaker 8 (22:01):
Absolutely, yeah, I would say some really good, wholesome, like
family areas. But I don't know if it's this way anymore,
but it's where I used to go a lot when
I was growing up, was in like between like chevyot
and like Western Hills area. There would be a lot
of like haunted houses. There would be just like a
(22:21):
lot of kids out in the neighborhood really getting creative,
like with the DIY outfits and a lot of like
trending outfits. So it was always a good fun experience.
Speaker 4 (22:31):
Awesome, Well, thank you for the call. I appreciate you.
There you go, if you can give me a song
or so.
Speaker 3 (22:36):
What are the biggest Halloween costumes for this year?
Speaker 4 (22:40):
Google just released the top trending Let's see if what
you're playing aligns with the biggest You're waking up in
the morning, Good morning.
Speaker 3 (22:52):
What are the top trending Halloween costumes for Cincinnati, according
to Google?
Speaker 4 (23:00):
I have them for adults, kids in pets.
Speaker 3 (23:03):
We'll start with the humans first, coming in at number
one for adults was the shrunken head from Beetlejuice.
Speaker 4 (23:09):
Beele Juice.
Speaker 3 (23:09):
Coming in at number two was Ray Gunn And if
you're like, why do I know that name, she was
the Australian Olympic dancer Break Dancer. Rather, I'm gonna skip
around a few here to the ones that I like,
Envy from inside out too, and then within the top
ten for Cincinnati this Halloween is Sabrina Carpenter. We're gonna
(23:31):
see a bunch of Sabrinas running around Cincy. It'd be
nice because we didn't get the real one here. And
since she came to Ohio, I mean to Columbus, all right.
The number one kid costume this year was read from Descendants.
Wolverine and Deadpool costumes also came up a few times
on this list, and the number one if you're gonna
(23:52):
dress up your pet for Halloween was dog Pool. Also
on this list was Beetlejuice.
Speaker 4 (23:59):
I don't know how you're gonna pull off a dog Beetlejuice,
but maybe just get a little little pinstripe suit, all right?
Coming up two songs from now.
Speaker 3 (24:05):
Speaking of Cincinnati, if you're going to the Jelly Roll concert,
here on November fourth.
Speaker 4 (24:10):
I just had a chance to see him last night.
You're gonna love it, and I'll explain why next. In
the three Things you need to.
Speaker 5 (24:16):
Know when you need to know She's got you, it's
three things with Tip.
Speaker 8 (24:26):
Hi, good morning.
Speaker 3 (24:27):
We're just before nine o'clock. At nine oh five is
when you have that chance to score one thousand bucks
and a free trip to our iHeartRadio jingle Ball in
New York starring Katie Perry. So don't go fine, Let's
start off with Hurricane Milton. Now sun is out of
ficially daylight, and we're starting to get a little bit
more insight as.
Speaker 4 (24:43):
To what happened with Florida.
Speaker 3 (24:46):
You know, yesterday we had said that the track was
gonna go a little bit further south c s To
Key and Sarasota really got hit with more of the
eye of the storm. Tornadoes were the big thing that
I didn't I kind of did not have that one
on my bingo card, as much as I had storm
Searge etc.
Speaker 5 (25:04):
On.
Speaker 4 (25:04):
There here is Governor DeSantis.
Speaker 2 (25:07):
There's already been one hundred and sixteen tornado warnings, with
nineteen confirmed touchdowns throughout the state, nine flash flood warnings
and four additional flood watches with many many more to come.
Speaker 4 (25:20):
You know, definitely some fatalities in this.
Speaker 3 (25:22):
Of course, three million people at least are without power
and some without cell service, and there's flooding, and outside
of storm search there was actually you know, eight to
ten inches of rain in some areas. Tampa, Florida's Tropicana Field,
the roof was ripped off of that. That was more
of a housing facility for crew and workers and electricity
workers rather than like a storm shelter, not that there's
(25:46):
any difference, but it wasn't like families and dogs there.
Speaker 4 (25:49):
They ripped the roof right off.
Speaker 3 (25:50):
I did get a text message from my mom about
fifteen minutes ago that she is okay, and that was
really the first I had heard from her since we
talked to her on the show yesterday at this time.
Speaker 4 (26:00):
So that was a big relief.
Speaker 3 (26:01):
And I'm hoping that if you have family and friends
down there as well, that there's a relief coming.
Speaker 4 (26:04):
Your way too.
Speaker 3 (26:05):
Anderson Cooper was broadcasting live when he was hit with
a piece of the debris that was a big concern
with the leftover from Hurricane Helene.
Speaker 7 (26:12):
And the water now is really starting to pour over
if you look at the Grand Bloo.
Speaker 3 (26:18):
Okay, second in three things you need to know this morning,
let's talk about jelly Rolla. So if you're going to
his Cincinnati date on November fourth, you are in for
a tree. And if not, I really hope that there's
a chance you can score a pair of tickets.
Speaker 4 (26:33):
He was so good in Columbus last night.
Speaker 3 (26:37):
I had a chance to go up there and experience
it as a fan. I think you'll love the experience
itself because he's extended the stage so that he could
really engage with everyone in the audience.
Speaker 4 (26:49):
I love it when an artist does that.
Speaker 3 (26:51):
First of all, it's like better than a high school
auditorium stage, where you know they just stand up front.
There he's got two long outlets so he can walk out,
and a stage in the back of the arena so
he can connect with the fans that are on that side.
Speaker 4 (27:04):
And that, I would.
Speaker 3 (27:05):
Say is the biggest thing I've noticed about jelly roll
is that he will take the time and the energy
to connect with every single fan that he can in
that building.
Speaker 4 (27:16):
Bunny was there. Listen to a clip you had a
Chelly Rose before.
Speaker 1 (27:21):
We really like to welcome you to our guests.
Speaker 7 (27:23):
Talks of a family tonight, Well yeah, I mean we
just went from having a concert to have enough family reunion.
Speaker 1 (27:33):
You mean what I'm talking about.
Speaker 7 (27:36):
I'll tell you one fan every family reunion bust time.
Here's a family tradition.
Speaker 4 (27:44):
He was so fun.
Speaker 3 (27:45):
Uh So, I had a chance to go backstage and
the videos are going up soon here if you want
to follow us at Kiss one oh seven, if you're
a visual person, to see what it's like to talk
to Jelly.
Speaker 4 (27:54):
Roll one on one.
Speaker 3 (27:55):
He told us one about his experience on Capitol Hill
and different that he's performed at in the past, and
SNL was a big one that we talked about, and
he said that.
Speaker 4 (28:06):
That was just a really cool live experience.
Speaker 3 (28:10):
The building for SNL, I'm not surprised by this is
actually much smaller than you would think that what you
see on TV.
Speaker 4 (28:17):
And that he talked about what it was like to
just be on SNL.
Speaker 3 (28:22):
What an honor right he kicked off the fiftieth anniversary season.
Here's a clip of a skit that got cut.
Speaker 1 (28:29):
It is on Legos.
Speaker 14 (28:32):
Can It is I Sam Wise Genji and we have
come to save Aragon from the clutches of sarumon before
he's dragged into the fires of mortor.
Speaker 3 (28:45):
Also just announced on social, like maybe yesterday, the Ohio
Stadium Buckeye Country Superfest just dropped their lineup, happening Saturday,
June twenty, first of next summer. Jelly Roll is the
headline alongside Kane Brown and a few others. So if
you're a big fan of Jelly and you won't see
him here in Cincy, maybe you can get a chance
(29:06):
to see him there again. Visuals are going up at
Kish one oh seven. All right, lastly, and three things
you need to know. Speaking of SNL, ariana grande great actress,
I think, great comedic actress too. I think she's going
to do well on SNL this weekend as the host.
Stevie Nix is the musical guest, and there's a funny
teaser out on social right now that had me in
tears yesterday.
Speaker 4 (29:27):
So excited to be hosting this week was the night
before Christops. Guys, I'm so excited to be hosting this week.
Speaker 8 (29:33):
But before we start, I just want to say I
would really prefer to not do anything wicked or was
it of Oz related?
Speaker 1 (29:41):
May we come back in one hour.
Speaker 3 (29:43):
Sure the entire cast was dressed up as the crew
of the Wizard of Oz. It was you'll come across
it on social and I hope you had a chance
to catch it when it happens. If not, you know
we'll cover it right after an hour's here on Monday morning. Okay,
that is three things you need to know to get
your day started, and c if you can give me
a couple of minutes of your time at nine oh five,
I have your next chance and your first chance of
(30:05):
the day to win one thousand bucks. It also comes
with a free trip to our iHeartRadio jingle Ball in
New York starring Katie Perry, So don't go far. Best
way to keep listening is on iHeartRadio. When you start
to kiss one us have one good morning.
Speaker 1 (30:18):
You're waking up with fifth in the morning.
Speaker 4 (30:19):
Hi kiss, one use and one Hi good morning.
Speaker 3 (30:21):
Welcome back to Community Corner on Tiff in the morning,
where we highlight some of our local events, heroes, legends,
community events, things that you can get involved with or
things that you can you know't have access to, just
in case you are going through something and you need
access and you don't know where to start community corner
(30:42):
with TIF in the morning just kind of covers it all.
Today I want to introduce you to Jesse Richard Sion. Hi,
good morning.
Speaker 10 (30:48):
Hi.
Speaker 3 (30:48):
She's the walk manager for NOMI. Now let me introduce
you to what NAMI is. It's the National Alliance of
Mental Illness. Now, Jess, can you remind us what is
mental illness? From one one all the way to the other,
what constitutes his mental illness?
Speaker 9 (31:05):
Yeah?
Speaker 13 (31:05):
So mental illness has a lot a big range. So
that can range from your add ADHD.
Speaker 15 (31:12):
Which is where I am, by the way, even you know,
obsessive compulsive disorder, things like that, or it can also
range from schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, depressions.
Speaker 4 (31:24):
So it encompasses a lot.
Speaker 13 (31:27):
Actually that a lot of people I either have or
know of someone who have or dealing with. So this
impacts a large population.
Speaker 3 (31:36):
Of course in here insincion. Sometimes you know, I hear
stories of friends of friends or people who call my
show that are like, I think my kid might have this,
and it's brand new to us, and we don't know
where to go, and we don't know where to start.
So you want to go to NAMI dash BC dot org.
I want you to remember that, and this will play
(31:56):
in later into the conversation if your ears are perking up, though, I.
Speaker 4 (31:59):
Wanted to get you that info quick.
Speaker 3 (32:01):
This coming Saturday, NAMI is hosting their walk in Butler
County at the Finton Center or in Hamilton.
Speaker 13 (32:11):
County Hamilton, Ham's Hamilton, Okay, but in Butler County.
Speaker 4 (32:15):
God is confusing. Thank god, we have Google masks.
Speaker 3 (32:19):
So you just type in the Finton Center and registration
kicks off at nine and then the walk will proceed
after that around ten am. Here's what I like about
this though, It's very low commitment, low entry, but probably
high reward if you just show up. You don't have
to pay to get into this walk. But what the
walk provides you is conversation with one other people that
(32:41):
might be going through something similar, and two you've got
some professionals and some experts.
Speaker 4 (32:45):
There kind of walk us through that a little bit. Yeah.
Speaker 13 (32:47):
So we partner with local organizations and providers such as
we have Butler Behavioral Health, we have Beckett Springs. We'll
have representatives from the Mental Health and Addiction and Recovery
Services Board there, and these people come and walk with us.
So they'll have their matching t shirts on. You know,
(33:09):
they'll bring their families and friends, and this is an
opportunity if you if you do have questions, or if
you just you know, want a support system, this will
be the opportunity to kind of prompt those conversations. You know,
we'll be there to kind of direct if you want
to specifically talk to a specific kind of person or
if you just want more information.
Speaker 4 (33:30):
I love it.
Speaker 13 (33:31):
We'll have a lot of volunteers there who have navigated
these systems or have gone taken our classes, taken our
support groups right and you know, they can provide their
experience and you know, really just get to know them.
Speaker 3 (33:46):
And I think I'm not alone in this where I
like to soak up knowledge. You like to ask questions,
and sometimes when you're dealing with something that's new to you,
you don't want you don't know where to start. I've
already mentioned that, but to you kind of just feel
like a number when you just call somebody and they
pass you off to somebody else and you go here,
and sometimes you're like, I just need to talk to
(34:06):
a human being for like five or so minutes to
figure out where I should go, and where you should
go type it into your little Google maps. Is the
Fit and Center this Saturday for the Nami walks. Again,
if you're like, Ooh, I can't do the walk, but
I want more info, Jesse, you said, it's name dash
BC dot org.
Speaker 4 (34:25):
And that offers classes resources.
Speaker 13 (34:28):
Yes, so we do education classes specifically for family members
and for those who are experiencing mental or have mental illnesses.
A lot of that is just education of you know,
what have you been diagnosed with or what do you
think you may have? Sure what that looks like, the
providers of the resources available to how you can communicate
(34:49):
and empower yourself with this. For family members, it's a
lot of that resource navigation, building confidence in them. We
also do a lot of community programs, so we'll provide
those classes or presentations to just churches or staff groups
who want them, or anybody who is interested and wants
to know information about this.
Speaker 4 (35:12):
Okay, there you come.
Speaker 3 (35:13):
Thank you Jess for joining Tiff in the morning's community corner.
We appreciate you listening to the show and joining us.
Thank you again. That was Nami en as in Nancy A.
M As and Mary I DASHBC dot org. Thank you
coming up at nine forty we will dive into the
daily debrief. The biggest thing that we talked about on
(35:34):
our show, will run it back, and then of course
you have a chance to chime in.
Speaker 4 (35:38):
Good morning,
