Speaker 1 (00:00):
Morning.

Speaker 2 (00:00):
You're waking up with TIF in the morning on Kiss
one seven one. First of all, I want to check
it on you. How are you definitely cold out there?
Temperatures are going to be really only in the forties
and fifties right now. Eventually we'll bump into the sixties,
but it's cold outside. And then second by now there's
a very good chance that you've seen the news that
Liam pain of one Direction has tragically passed away. Now

(00:25):
there are different stories kind of circulating the internet.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
I'm going to break them down.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
We'll save that a little bit later on in the
show in three Things, which we do every day at
six fifty. I'll have some of the details, some of
the audio, but I'm processing the information right alongside you
this morning. And it was one of those things that
when I got a notification and actually I didn't even
I didn't see it on my phone. I got it
at in a group setting last night, someone said to me, hey,

(00:51):
did you know that Liam Payne died?

Speaker 1 (00:53):
And I said, what shocking? Shocking, shocking?

Speaker 2 (00:58):
As of right now, there are you know again, I'll
save it for three things you need to know. But
the reports are not necessarily conflicting but we're hearing you
know that he fell out of the balcony of the
east third floor hotel room in Argentina. But I'll have
more on that later on. It's very tragic. We'll save
that for three things you need to know at six fifty.

(01:18):
Outside of that, like I said, I hope you're doing well.

Speaker 3 (01:22):
Good morning.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
When you need to know she's got you, it's.

Speaker 4 (01:27):
Three things with tip on just when.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
I was seven, Hi, good morning.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
We're just before seven o'clock on this Thursday. Temperatures right
now in the thirties and forties kind of just depending
on your location. Eventually we'll bump only into the lower
sixties today with sunshine. I'm processing the Liam info like
right alongside you this morning. You know, Liam Payne tragically
died at the age of thirty one. The news broke
here on the Eastern Standard time zone at six thirty

(01:54):
last night that he had died in Argentina. Now there
are the news I had last night, pretty much the
same as the news I have for you this morning.
It's still developing story and not a lot of facts
have come out about it. There, however, is a lot
of speculation. So I'm going to do my best to
just give you the facts of what I know this morning.

(02:15):
He was in Argentina with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy, and
it looked as if they had been there for a
little while.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
She left, he was staying behind.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
The news sources and the reports are coming out that
he had fallen out of the third floor balcony of
his Argentina hotel room. Now a conflicting report coming out
of the police station saying that he had jumped out
of his third floor balcony. I think falling and jumping
are two very different things. In the police statement, what

(02:46):
I have for you here is that they had been
called to the Cassasur hotel after being notified of a
quote aggressive man who could be under the influence in
the effects of drugs and alcohol. When he was conscious,
he was destroying the entire room and we need you
to send someone you know, also saying that the guest's
life was at risk because the room had a balcony.

(03:10):
That is pretty much the bulk of the facts that
I have for you this morning. Now the rest of
it speculation, right. I do have his last snapchat that
he posted, I don't know, maybe an hour or so
before he had passed on. Excuse me, here's a quote.

Speaker 5 (03:26):
Good morning everybody, his little video of me a.

Speaker 4 (03:30):
Lovely day here Argentina.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
If I'm a judge of character, he looked fine in
the video. He looked okay. But I don't know if
things take a turn quickly, and I think he's been
public as are a lot of stars that they struggle
with mental health. Of course, One Direction was the biggest
boy band of the millennial generation. Of course, after the

(03:57):
you know, early two thousands boy bands, One Direction was
the band that really came back and put boy bands
on the map again. And they'd put out five albums together.
They took a break in definitely in twenty sixteen. All
of them were out putting separate, you know projects out.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
Of course.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
We know that Harry Styles went through the moon, but
they've all had their own, you.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
Know, bits of success.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
I have yet to see anything from the other members
of One Direction at this hour in the morning. In fact,
Nile Horn was performing in Argentina, former bandmate, and Nile
was there, I'm sorry, and Liam was there in the building,
you know, dancing alongside, supporting, et cetera. And you know,
the other thing that keeps coming up this morning are
his past relationships, the one that he shares with his

(04:40):
ex fiance named Maya.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
There's kind of an eerie clip here that I'll play
and they'll discuss.

Speaker 6 (04:46):
I always felt like it was a manipulation tactic to
keep me. I don't know, it's kind of complicated, but
I always felt like it was so that I could
continue to feel bad for him, and because he would
always message me ever since we broke up, like, oh,
I'm not well. He would always play with death and
be like, well, I'm gonna die.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
I'm not doing well.

Speaker 6 (05:06):
And there was one time I tried to get him
help and then he was like not taking it.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
That podcast isn't that old. Here's the story with this
one that I've read. Maya put out a book. In
the book, it talks about a character that you know,
went through domestic abuse and had to get.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
An abortion by herself.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
And then when she was promoting the book, she had
said that the character in it was a lot like
the story that she had shared with Liam. Very tragic.
The last song that he put out is called tear Drops.
I have a clip for you. This came out in
March of this year. Will continue to keep you posting

(06:00):
on more. You are more than welcome to contribute to
the show today. If you are a big fan of
One Direction, or if you're just as in shock as
I am. You have a voice on this show at
any point today. If you want to talk back with Tiff,
we'll spend more time on this in our seven o'clock hour.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
All right, just quickly, let's touch base.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
On Blink kicking off tonight with a parade.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
And then of course we talked about it at length.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
The thing stretches across like thirty city blocks in six
different zones.

Speaker 1 (06:26):
You gotta get the map online.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
And then lastly, Nick Jonas also suffering a weird incident
and his show in the Czech Republic where lasers are
being pointed at his face. The video is kind of
jarring because he cuts the music, runs off stage. Eventually
Kevin and Joe join him, and you know, things happen
at the arena. They figure out what's going on, they
get back on stage and perform with that incident.

Speaker 1 (06:49):
All right, that is three.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
Things you need to know for the seventeenth of October.
Coming up next, we'll be with you all morning, of course,
talking about Liam Payne here on Tiff in the Morning,
and the best way to keep listening is by searching
Kiss one oh seven one on iHeartRadio. Hi, good morning,
you're waking up with Tiff in the Morning on Kiss
one oh seven one. First of all, let me check
in on you. Let's do a little drive by wellness update.

(07:11):
What's going on? You off to a good start? I
hope good, good, good good. If not, you know, we'll
continue to do what we normally do on this show
every day, which is commercial free music at this time,
hopefully the good ones that you like, and we'll dive.

Speaker 1 (07:24):
Into three things. All of that.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
I've got Dane Cook tickets and a thousand bucks. All
of that is still happening today. Hopefully you get something
that you like out of it. Dane Cook tickets coming
up at eight thirty, your chance to win the grand
at nine oh five. I recommend listening on iHeart Radio.
I mean that's usually what I do. Search Kiss one
oh seven one. That way, not only can you, you know,
be a part of the show, you can be a

(07:47):
part of the conversation and such. Two songs from now,
we're gonna check in on you with Liam Payne and
The Tragic passing of him last night at the age
of thirty one.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
I know.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
How important Wonder Direction was to millennials, gen Z not
as much. It's okay, You're more than welcome to still
chime in on the conversation. One Direction was a big
thing for millennials. So if you are, if you're feeling
it this morning, you know where to share him. Talk
back with Tiff on I Heart Radio. You'll see the
microphone next to the play butt and we'll continue to

(08:19):
remember him, you know, throughout the day. I'm thinking of you.
Good morning, We remember Liam Payne. His talent was incredible
and the memories he left us with are beautiful.

Speaker 4 (08:34):
You're waking up with fifth in the morning.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
Hi, kiss one one, Hi, good morning.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
How are you?

Speaker 2 (08:41):
You know we're not going to spend the entire show
talking about Liam Payne. However, I do feel obligated slash
this deep desire to check in on you and how
you're doing with it, because I, very similar to you,
found out the news around six thirty last night and
I just kind of cannot believe.

Speaker 1 (09:01):
That he had passed away.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
Of course, just in case you don't know this, Liampayne,
formerly of One Direction, died by falling out of a
hotel balcony and Argentina last night around six point thirty
our time here in the Eastern Standard time zone, and
I'm still processing some of the information. So I just
wanted to give you a lane to check in. One

(09:25):
Direction was the boy band that really brought boy bands
back to the map for millennials, maybe even a little
bit of gen Z as well, And so I just
want to give you a space. You can always talk
back with Tip on iHeartRadio when you searched Kiss one
oh seven one.

Speaker 7 (09:41):
Last night, my childhood best friend, who I very very
rarely talked to, actually reached out to me and we
talking about Liam and One Direction and how we grew
up on them and everything like that. And it was
really sad, but it was you know, it was nice

(10:01):
to catch up with her and talk about something that
you know, means so much to us and meant so
much to us.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
That's a good story. Thank you for sharing that. It
was good to hear your voice this morning. Some facts
about One Direction. They finished third on The X Factor,
but went on to have more than twenty nine hits
on the Billboard Hot one hundred, with six in the
top ten. Including What Makes You Beautiful, Story of My Life,
Live While We're Young. Liam Payne's co writing credits include

(10:32):
Story of My Life, Night Changes, and then when the
band broke up in twenty sixteen, he went on, like
most of the members, to put out his own solo project,
including his first studio album titled LP one in twenty nineteen.
And I just I still, I can't believe it. I

(10:53):
can't believe it. My God, the emotions this morning. I
think it was the music video. If you haven't had
a chance to go back and watch the music video,

(11:14):
I encourage you to do that at some point. Today
we're in the midst of taking some of your talkbacks.
If you want to share, I'd love to have you
on the show.

Speaker 8 (11:21):
I am so incredibly devastated to hear about the loss
of Lampaigne. I grew up on One Direction, as probably
did many others, so their music really grew with me,
and it was amazing to see them grow as a
band in that's so harness.

Speaker 1 (11:41):
So I'm with you, girl.

Speaker 2 (11:43):
I had a chance to meet One Direction one time.
This was back in twenty twelve when I started my
radio career in Boston. I was an intern for the
afternoon drive guy at the radio station at the time,
I get the stations called Kiss one Away, and we
had One Direction coming into the studio that day, or
at least into the offices. This was like right on

(12:06):
the verge of them blowing up, like real, like right
before we were able to get all members of One
Direction in our station. And I at the time, this was,
like I said in twenty twelve, really didn't know who
they were. But people were lining up in the parking
lot because they had heard that One Direction was going
to be there. And I should go back through my
Facebook archives and look at this photo. But they were

(12:27):
so young at the time, so young, but still so
humble and nice and sweet. A lot of people ask me,
you know what, when you meet artists, where do they like,
And it's usually they're always very humble and nice. Like
there hasn't been one. Maybe there was one, but we
won't we'll save that for another day. Yeah, just it's
such a sad story.

Speaker 1 (12:48):
And of course that was over ten years ago. Lots
happened since then.

Speaker 2 (12:51):
We're going to table some of the facts about the
you know, the passing of Liam until six fifty seven
to fifty when we dive into three things.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
All right, let's let's put a pin in this.

Speaker 2 (13:02):
Let's put a pin in this. You're still more than
welcome to contribute. I want to talk about let's let's transition,
let's pivot to something different. I want to get your
honest take on a destination wedding. Have you been to
one and loved it? Have you actually have you hosted
one and you thought that that was the best? Do
Do you love the destination wedding? Talk back with tiv

(13:22):
or call me whatever you want to do. We're gonna
get to that and i'll explain why two songs from now.

Speaker 9 (13:26):
Good morning, you're waking up with fifth in the morning,
Kiss on us seven one, Hi, good morning.

Speaker 2 (13:37):
I want to take a little break from chit chat
about Liam Payne. You know, we'll get back into that
in three things you need to know at seven fifty
this morning.

Speaker 1 (13:43):
I hope you're off to a good start. I feel
the need to check in on you today. You good,
You good. Let's talk about destination weddings.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
I am going to the Dominican Republic for my first
destination wedding of this year two weeks from today Halloween.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
I'll have to go to I'm going.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
I don't know should I dress, Like, do you think
someone will dress up on the airplane because it's hollow?
Probably not, that sounds childish, but maybe I'll wear something spookier.
I probably, you know, knowing me, we're not doing that.
I'm just not doing that.

Speaker 1 (14:16):
I don't know why. I don't know why I say
these things. I'm not doing it.

Speaker 2 (14:19):
But I'm going to the dr for a friend of
mine wedding and I'm going for five nights. I'm going
by myself, and I'm excited about the experience. I feel
like I don't do a ton of out of country
solo travel, so this will be a good entry point

(14:39):
for me to try that. And like, of course I'm
by myself, but then I'm a part of the wedding,
not like I'm not in it. But there's gonna be
people there that I know, some I do a lot
that I probably won't. And I don't know if I
over committed to this, But I'm there for five nights
because I just love the ocean.

Speaker 1 (14:59):
I love the troth, I love I love it so much.

Speaker 2 (15:03):
But I feel like by the end of it, I'm
nervous because it's gonna be like the bride the groom,
they're intimate family members. And then Tiffany, which really tracks
for my life. But I'm I don't know, I'm like
a little like a little nervous. I'm a little nervous
to go to this one. I don't know why. It's

(15:23):
not that I haven't gone on a you know, a
solo tropical vacation for a wedding before. Actually one year ago,
I was at the Turks, but I was in that wedding.
I was a part of the celebrations, so I felt,
you know, kind of like locked.

Speaker 1 (15:38):
In with the family.

Speaker 2 (15:39):
Now this is a friend of mine, but not like
a really close friend of mine. It's an industry friend
of mine. And I'm there for I think I think
I might be the one that's there the longest. Everyone's
leaving on like Sunday or Monday, and I'm I'm there
from until like Tuesday or Wednesday. Let's see when I
get your thoughts on destination weddings.

Speaker 1 (15:55):
Have you gone to them? Do you love them?

Speaker 2 (15:56):
Do you not?

Speaker 1 (15:57):
Do you think it's worth it?

Speaker 2 (15:59):
I actually would love to talk to a bride or
a groom that's planned a wedding.

Speaker 1 (16:02):
Are you going destination and why talk.

Speaker 2 (16:05):
Back with Tiff on iHeartRadio when you search kiss one
O sev one the microphones right next to the play button.
And you know, if you are having a destination wedding
and you do invite me, just know that I will
be there, most likely before the bride and groom arrive
and stay until long after they've left.

Speaker 1 (16:24):
Wow, good morning, a little pretty Ricky.

Speaker 2 (16:26):
You're waking up with Tiff in the morning on kiss
Ono seva one, that's for sure. We're in the midst
of talking about destination weddings, solo travel, things of that nature.
So two weeks from today, I'm going to the Dominica
Republic for a friend of mine's wedding. Now we're industry friends,
so I'm not in this wedding. I'm not super close
with anyone. I'm like a little bit nervous because I'm

(16:48):
going by myself and I'm going for five nights, and
i feel like I'm gonna be it's gonna be the
bride the groom and they're close families, and then just
me at the end of the dinner table like a loser.

Speaker 10 (17:01):
Hi, we went to a wedding in the Dominican Republic,
and it was the best wedding we've ever been to
and it was a vacation on top of that.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
Yeah, that's why I committed. I mean, I may have
over committed. We're in the midst of talking about solo
travel too. If you've gone and had some good experiences,
we often check in about that because I don't want
to hold myself back in life because I don't have
anyone to go with.

Speaker 1 (17:23):
I mean, at this stage, I'm.

Speaker 2 (17:24):
In my early thirties, so friends of mine have kids
and you know, can't pick up and leave like I can.
Of course, everyone's in their own different financial situations, people
are married, et cetera, et cetera. So I'm just trying
to go out there and live it and do it,
live it.

Speaker 11 (17:39):
Up instead of putting the pressure on friends and family
to come. We only had our best friends when other
couple come with us to how good as our witnesses,
and then we are having a big party with everybody
here to celebrate.

Speaker 1 (17:54):
That's good, Okay, I've heard that before.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
I've heard I've heard nothing but success stories from destination weddings.
Thank you for the talk back with Tiff. When you
search kiss on iHeartRadio. It's an alternative way to contribute.
I'd love to hear from me this morning. Let's put
a pin in this for now. For now, you're more
than welcome to contribute, but we've got to dive into
the three things you need to know to get your
day started here in Cincy. Coming up at seven fifty,

(18:19):
we're obviously going to update you on the latest with
Liam Payne and more next.

Speaker 9 (18:25):
When you need to know She's got you, it's three
Things with Ti.

Speaker 1 (18:31):
Hi, good morning.

Speaker 2 (18:32):
Before we dive in, I want to remind you at
eight thirty I do. We're just before eight o'clock. But
at eight thirty I have your chance to win Dane
Cook tickets. He's coming to Sincy October twenty six at
the Brady.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
Let's start with.

Speaker 2 (18:45):
The tragic passing of Liam Payne at the age of
thirty one. The facts haven't changed much since the news
broke last night for us that he fell out of
a third floor balcony at a hotel in arch Tinam.
He had been there, you know, it seemed like for
a little while his girlfriend had gone and he was

(19:05):
going to stay. I'm hearing conflicting reports this morning and
I think that there's a lot of speculation, and I
don't want to fill your head with speculation. And I
also don't want to jump to conclusions that this was
in an addiction related thing, but that is coming up
quite a bit in fact.

Speaker 1 (19:19):
From the police report.

Speaker 2 (19:21):
I'll just read the quote here and the statement that
they had been called to the Casaser hotel after being
notified of a quote aggressive man who could be under
the effects of drug and ALC drugs and alcohol. When
he is conscious, he's destroying the entire room and we
need you to send someone, and that the guest's life
was at risk because the room had a balcony. That's

(19:43):
coming out of the police report this morning. Now, has
Liam Payne struggled in the past, Yes, I think he's
been upfront about that. But is that the fact of
the matter in this case. I don't know, And I
don't want to speculate about someone's life.

Speaker 1 (19:57):
It's too fragile.

Speaker 2 (19:58):
But I do know that if you have someone in
your own life similar to myself, addiction is a really.

Speaker 1 (20:06):
Hard thing.

Speaker 2 (20:08):
It's hard for the person, but it's also hard for
the people around them. I've already played clips of his
ex fiance and so I don't necessarily want to get
into that that this three things. You can always go
back and listen. I do have one of the last
snapchats that was posted.

Speaker 1 (20:23):
I don't know if this.

Speaker 2 (20:23):
Video was taken that day or maybe a couple of
days before, but he sounds Okay.

Speaker 4 (20:28):
Good morning everybody, his little video of me a lovely
day here Argentina.

Speaker 2 (20:37):
Let's play some clips from just, you know, various things
that I've pulled. So he put out a project called
tear Drops, and this is him in the studio kind
of getting ready to record and talk, and it was
just kind of like camera's rolling situation.

Speaker 5 (20:51):
I always think in pictures as much as I think
it sounds when I'm making music and the feelings that
these chords and different things give me and every one
of these songs is a story from my life.

Speaker 2 (21:03):
I could hear the people in the background there. Like
I said, it was kind of just cameras rolling. Let's
talk about One Direction. You know, they broke up in
twenty sixteen, but had many top ten hits and mem
I mean success beyond the global, global success. One of
the biggest videos for carpool Karaoke was with One Direction
I'll play a clip for you.

Speaker 1 (21:25):
No, I lie, I'm so sorry. That is something else
that we will talk about here. It is.

Speaker 4 (21:34):
That's what makes you d.

Speaker 3 (21:38):
Douns of hell. Put my scenior here on Stole Paton.

Speaker 2 (21:43):
That was Liam's voice. You know that video has two
hundred and one million views. Two hundred and one million.
Kind of some rumors circulating this morning. If you look
at the Saturday Night Live gap lineup for guests this season,
there's a gap on one of the dates. It was
rumored to potentially have been Harry Styles because there are
rumors out there that he was going to release some

(22:05):
new music and new project. I would assume that that
would no longer happen. But if that, you know, again,
that's just something I noticed on the internet today.

Speaker 1 (22:14):
All right, let's move on. Second. In three things you
need to know this morning.

Speaker 2 (22:18):
We'll continue to cover Liam throughout the day, but Blink
kicks off in Cincy tonight. I mean six different zones
and you know, four days to cover like thirty city blocks.
The parade starts tonight, I believe at seven o'clock or
at least as close to dark as we can get.
I've been caught up in the Liam News here. So
I don't have the exact time for you, but the
parade kicks off today. And then, lastly, in three Things

(22:41):
you need to Know this morning, the creator and writer
of the song so Os with Rihanna. We've learned this
crazy fact about the song yesterday. I'm gonna play a
clip and then we'll talk.

Speaker 12 (22:55):
The whole second verse of that song is eighty song
titles strung together as set in because I thought it'd
be super clever. Take on me Aha for me? You
know inside you feel it right, Take me on. I
could just die up in your arms tonight.

Speaker 1 (23:12):
Isn't that cool?

Speaker 2 (23:12):
There's more to this clip I'll play maybe in our
next hour. His name is Evan Bogart. He is responsible
for writing numerous hits like Halo by Beyonce. That is
three things you need to know for the seventeenth of October.
Your chance of the Dane Cook tickets.

Speaker 1 (23:27):
Coming up at eight thirty.

Speaker 2 (23:28):
Good morning, Hi, good morning, a beautiful day here in Cincinnati.

Speaker 1 (23:32):
It's a Thursday.

Speaker 2 (23:33):
You know, it's cold, of course, it feels fall like
out there, but beautiful.

Speaker 1 (23:37):
Nonetheless, we've got.

Speaker 2 (23:38):
Lots of things to look forward to this weekend. I
understand that, but I'm still in the midst of processing
the information kind of right alongside you this morning about
Liam Payne. So I just want to make sure I'm
giving you the space to chime in and chit chat
at any point today. You can talk back with tiff
on iHeart Radio when you search kiss the microphones right
next to the play button.

Speaker 12 (23:57):
Hi.

Speaker 13 (23:57):
Everyone, regarding Liam Payne. I don't no, I don't think
any of us know at this point if it's accidental
or a suicide. But having lost a sibling just a
few years ago to suicide, mental health is no joke.
When you least expect it, the very worst can happen.
I know that there's been talk about Chapel Rowan lately

(24:17):
and people kind of rolling their eyes about her need
to take a break.

Speaker 4 (24:21):
She shouldn't be judged.

Speaker 1 (24:22):
This is the reason why. Well, thank you.

Speaker 2 (24:24):
It's good to hear your voice this morning. Thanks for
leaving me that message. Yeah, you make a great point.
This is a learning experience for me as well. But
I'm trying to be very delicate about facts versus speculation
because we don't know yet. We don't we I mean,
some of the reports are saying fell. Some of the
reports are saying jumped. I'm going to do my best.

Speaker 1 (24:42):
To get you the real facts as they come up. Still,
I just still cannot believe it. Still cannot believe it.

Speaker 2 (24:52):
You know, it might be one of those situations where
you kind of always remember where you were when you
found out the information.

Speaker 11 (24:58):
There's been speculation Harry Styles is going to come out
with an album on Friday. The question is because he
still going to release it if that's the case.

Speaker 2 (25:08):
First of all, I'm glad you used your blinker you know,
there's sometimes you have in Cincinnati are not using their blinkers. Second,
you're right. I had just mentioned that in Three Things
that Harry Styles was rumored to be putting up music
this weekend, and then there's a gap in the SNL
dates that I thought maybe he was gonna fill. I
doubt that that will happen, you know, moving forward, I

(25:28):
still haven't, as at this point in the morning, seen
anything from any of his bandmates on social not that
they're obligated to post or anything, but you know, as fans,
we're just curious, you know, we're just kind of all
grieving together.

Speaker 1 (25:40):
All right, Let's not pivot.

Speaker 2 (25:42):
We're still good, Pivot, Pivot, We're commercial for you for
the rest of the hour. That happens every day, so
I have to put you in a good mood because
of that. Two songs from now.

Speaker 1 (25:48):
Ask Julia on the Job. She use our show's career expert.

Speaker 2 (25:51):
If you're in the midst of trying to find a job,
whether it's new or you've been out of one for
a while, and you're getting ready for a job interview,
She's got the one tip on how to nail your
job interview.

Speaker 1 (26:03):
We'll do that next you're.

Speaker 4 (26:05):
Waking up with fifth in the Morning, hun Kiss one seven.

Speaker 1 (26:08):
One, Hi, good morning. We're going to take a break
from Liam Payne, etc.

Speaker 2 (26:11):
Just know that you have a space here on the
show at any point that you want it. I have
your chance to win Dame Cook tickets. He's coming at
the end of this month, but you'll need the keyword.
I think we'll go with interview today every Thursday, right
around this time. Julie on the Job is our show's
career expert. Whether you're in college and getting ready to
graduate and not sure what's going on, maybe you are

(26:31):
desperately looking for a job, or you want to upgrade
you can always ask her on the show. So we'll
start with this question.

Speaker 1 (26:37):
That I got.

Speaker 2 (26:38):
Hi, Julie, I have a job interview, and this will
be my tenth in a few months. I don't know
if it's just me or maybe I'm not right for
the job. Can you help me? Or can you, Julie,
can you help us?

Speaker 14 (26:51):
Interviewing or looking for a job, there's an awful lot
of trial and error kissing frogs that goes on, ye,
and both sides of the desk, you and the employer
are trying to decide whether this is a great fit
for you, and so for an offer or interviews to continue,
it needs to be a yes on both sides.

Speaker 4 (27:10):
Okay.

Speaker 14 (27:10):
One of the things that people complain about, like people
who are in decision making roles, complain about, is that
interviewees show up and they aren't prepared.

Speaker 1 (27:20):
And what do I mean by yeah?

Speaker 13 (27:22):
Yes?

Speaker 14 (27:23):
Okay, See, I know it's so basic, So what do
I mean by prepared?

Speaker 1 (27:27):
There's a couple pieces of it.

Speaker 14 (27:28):
The first piece is are you ready to talk about
your experiences, your skills, the things that you're looking for
in a next role.

Speaker 1 (27:39):
Do you know the product?

Speaker 14 (27:40):
And in this case, the product is you and so
you have to be ready to talk about yourself. The
other side of that, and this is the piece that's
most often missed, again surprisingly, is that you need to
show up having a level of understanding and knowledge about
the company, what they do, what their key priorities are,

(28:03):
and what the job the why they're trying to fill
this role. What are the key responsibilities of this position.
The good thing, the good news is this information is
all readily accessible. You can research the company. You can
know everything you need to know about them just with
a few minutes online. And that is a bare minimum preparation.

Speaker 2 (28:22):
But it sounds what I just pulled from that though,
is you are learning about the company, you're learning about
yourself and how you marry the two of them together.

Speaker 1 (28:30):
Yes, yes, And being able to.

Speaker 2 (28:31):
Speak to that confidently is what separates you from the
other candidates.

Speaker 14 (28:36):
If you just take the question and work to answer
it before your interview, why do I believe I'm a
great fit for this role? Start with that, why do
I believe I'm a great fit for this role? Because
both of those elements are in there.

Speaker 1 (28:48):
Who am I?

Speaker 14 (28:49):
And what's the role require? If you can't answer that question,
you shouldn't be going on the interview.

Speaker 2 (28:53):
So for the person that's asking the interview question, do
you think it's them or do you think they're just
not right for the.

Speaker 14 (29:00):
It's gonna it's hard to say, but ten interviews feels
like a lot. Yeah, but you know, I also think
that interviewing, or I know that interviewing is something that
you get better at with practice.

Speaker 1 (29:12):
And so.

Speaker 14 (29:14):
Every time you do an interview, do a self assessment afterwards,
ask for feedback. You probably won't get it, but at
least you've got to stay up at the plate swinging
and keep practicing. Yeah, it's really is a numbers game.

Speaker 1 (29:28):
What is your.

Speaker 2 (29:29):
One Julie on the Job tip? You've interviewed a million people.
What are you looking for? What's the secret sauce for you?

Speaker 14 (29:36):
So the one tip I'd give people is take a
look at what you bring to the party, what the
organization's looking for, and write down what are my top
three ways in which my skills and experience could be
an answer to their problem.

Speaker 2 (29:51):
Okay, ask Julie on the Job is a great way
to reach her or follow her for some of the
career content that you might need. And we're gonna get
you this job. We're gonna get this poor girl her job.

Speaker 1 (30:03):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (30:05):
You'll need the keyword interview for your chance to win
the Dane Cook tickets coming up next because you're.

Speaker 9 (30:11):
Waking up with six in the morning on Kiss one
O seven to one.

Speaker 1 (30:14):
Hi, good morning, you're on the air.

Speaker 3 (30:16):
It's Jared, your favorite callers.

Speaker 1 (30:19):
Hi, Jared, I'm hoping you have a keyword for me.

Speaker 3 (30:23):
I think it's interview interview.

Speaker 1 (30:25):
Congratulations. You are going to see Dane Cook.

Speaker 3 (30:32):
You know a lot of people say I look like
and sound like Dane Cook.

Speaker 2 (30:35):
Well, you know hopeful. I'm glad you got his name
right rather than.

Speaker 1 (30:45):
You almost got it. You almost got it. How is
it out there today?

Speaker 2 (30:52):
What's going on in Cincinnati that I'm missing through the
windows here?

Speaker 15 (30:54):
You know, I'm in line to get my Big b
Coffee latte? And I am so excited about Blink that
starts tonight, So I will be going to Blink tonight.

Speaker 1 (31:06):
Yeah, I'm with you on that one.

Speaker 2 (31:07):
And honestly, I was dreaming of a Big Bee coffee today.

Speaker 1 (31:11):
I like you read my mind man. On both things.
I could go for one.

Speaker 3 (31:15):
Do you need me to bring you one to I'm.

Speaker 2 (31:17):
Good thank you, Thank you, though, but I do want
how was the Olivia Rodriguez show?

Speaker 3 (31:23):
It was the concert of the summer, just like you.

Speaker 1 (31:26):
Said, Okay, I'm gonna put you out a hold.

Speaker 2 (31:29):
I'll be right back if you're wondering what the heck
is going on there, Olivia Rodrigo is coming to town.
And I you know, he was a winner of months
ago and he had said the incorrect name of hers.

Speaker 15 (31:38):
I am calling for those tickets to Olivia Rodriguez.

Speaker 1 (31:42):
Not quite, not quite.

Speaker 2 (31:44):
I put a smile on my face though I needed
that this morning. All right, we're commercial free for a
hair longer.

Speaker 1 (31:48):
You know the drill.

Speaker 2 (31:49):
We're not far off from the three things you need
to know to get your day started. And since he
coming up around a fifty this morning, and of course we'll.

Speaker 1 (31:55):
Talk about Liam Payne and more, Lynn, you need to
know she's got you.

Speaker 4 (32:02):
It's three things with tip TI.

Speaker 1 (32:05):
Good morning. We're just before nine o'clock.

Speaker 2 (32:06):
At nine oh five is when I have that chance
free to win one thousand bucks. And it comes to
the free trip to our iHeartRadio jingle Ball in New
York starring Katy Perry. So don't go farm, you know,
we're still processing the info, and not much has really
changed from the information actually that came in last night
about the passing of Liam Payne tragically at the age
of thirty one after falling out of a hotel balcony.

(32:29):
I'm gonna say falling for now until that changes. In Argentina,
I had read some of the police report, but just
in case this is new to you, I'll.

Speaker 1 (32:37):
Read it again. Excuse me while I get it here.

Speaker 2 (32:40):
Police said in a statement that they had been called
to this Costaser hotel after being notified of quote an
aggressive man who could be under the effects of drugs
and alcohol when he's conscious. He's destroying the entire room
and we need you to send someone. And he also
added that the guest's life was at risk because the
room had a balcony.

Speaker 1 (33:00):
That is the bulk of the headline this morning.

Speaker 2 (33:02):
I think that life is very delicate, so I don't
want to speculate.

Speaker 1 (33:06):
That's the facts I have.

Speaker 2 (33:07):
Then there's a lot of speculation about what state of
mind was he and was this a fall or was
this a jump? You know, when families are involved, when
lives are involved.

Speaker 1 (33:17):
It's very delicate. It's so tragic.

Speaker 2 (33:20):
We had covered some of Liam's accolades earlier in the show,
but of course I'll run them back for you here.
Simon Cowell said, I always knew that that with confidence,
he would be a valuable member of One Direction, so
I had no hesitation in bringing him back. The band
finished third in the X Factor, but went on to
have more than twenty nine hits on the Billboard Hot

(33:42):
one hundred six in the top ten, including What makes
You Beautiful, Story of My Life, Live While You're Young.
Payne has co writing credits on Story of My Life
and Night Changes. Once the band broke up in twenty sixteen,
he went on to release music with Rito Aura and
his first studio album titled LP one and twenty nineteen

(34:03):
and to honor him here, I have a clip of
What makes You Beautiful, I'm Sorry, the Story of My Life.

(34:25):
I think that's why it's so hard for people today
is because One Direction became such a staple in two
thousand and you know, eleven, twelve, all the way through sixteen,
and then the guys went on and did their own
solo careers. In fact, this is the last song that
Liam did put out in March of this year.

Speaker 1 (34:55):
That's called tear drops. I'll be thinking to him.

Speaker 2 (34:57):
Of course, when there's updates over the next day or so,
I will have them for you, all right. Second and
three things you need to know this morning. I played
a clip of this in our last hour, but I
want to play the thing for you in length. This
is how the song S O S was written. I'm
gonna play it, then we'll talk about it.

Speaker 1 (35:14):
Wrote it.

Speaker 12 (35:15):
I had no idea what I was doing. The whole
second verse of that song is eighties song titles strung
together as sentences, because I thought it'd be super clever.
Take on me, Aha, you know inside you feel it right?
Take me on. I could just die up in your
arms tonight. I melt with you. You got me head

(35:38):
over heels, the boy you keep me hanging.

Speaker 9 (35:41):
On the way you make me feel hanging on the way.

Speaker 12 (35:46):
They're all number one songs from the eighties.

Speaker 1 (35:48):
That's incredible. I had no idea.

Speaker 2 (35:50):
About how is it that that is just coming out
today or recently in a podcast interview, and that song
is so old.

Speaker 1 (35:57):
His name is Evan Bolgar.

Speaker 2 (35:59):
I mean, the man is credited with writing massive hits
like so os Hey Lo by Beyonce, so many more,
he's a big songwriter, so I thought that was a
really interesting fact.

Speaker 1 (36:10):
The song is just all eighty song lyrics or titles
rather all right.

Speaker 2 (36:14):
And then lastly, in three Things you Need to Know,
this morning, Nick Jonas and the Jonas Brothers were performing
in the Czech Republic.

Speaker 1 (36:20):
When Nick the video is kind of jarring.

Speaker 2 (36:22):
He just stops the music, runs off stage and there
were lasers being pointed at his face. Eventually his brothers
join him, they go off stage, they figure out, you.

Speaker 1 (36:30):
Know, hey, was this a real threat? What's happening here?

Speaker 2 (36:33):
And then you know, once everything was cleared, they eventually
went back on stage and started performing again.

Speaker 10 (36:38):
But who.

Speaker 1 (36:40):
That was a That's an interesting video. That is three
Things you need to Know.

Speaker 2 (36:43):
For the seventeenth of October, I had said that the
Blink Parade started at seven. It does, in fact start
at eight o'clock tonight. Coming up next to your chance
to win a thousand bucks, I'm gonna pay your bills
on Kiss with a Grand at nine oh five, and
it comes to the free trip to our iHeartRadio Music
Festival in Vegas.

Speaker 4 (36:58):
Because you're waking up with kid, we're gonna.

Speaker 2 (37:03):
Talk about travel, We're gonna take a little mental break
and maybe a little trip break from Cincinnati. Let's just
take a break. Travel is always fun to hear about.
But I don't have any judgment on you. If you
never if you never go on the trips, I get it.

Speaker 4 (37:15):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (37:15):
Expedia released their Top twenty five unpacklist, which covers some
of the biggest travel trends.

Speaker 1 (37:21):
To look forward to in twenty twenty five.

Speaker 2 (37:25):
I had mentioned at our seven o'clock hour that I
was going to an all inclusive resort for a destination
wedding in the dr two weeks from today. So it's
funny that all inclusives are really hot for twenty twenty five.

Speaker 1 (37:37):
Not surprised.

Speaker 2 (37:38):
I'm going on ony myself, although when were they not hot?
Your I will go on an all inclusive, say say,
I don't even need to know the people.

Speaker 1 (37:45):
I'll go.

Speaker 2 (37:46):
I'll go by myself. I love it. A pina colada
on the beach, let's go. So that's a big one
for twenty twenty five. I guess travel all inclusive is
up sixty percent. I guess it also makes sense with
the economy as well. Another one on the list for
next year is Goods Getaways think of this as like
TikTok shop at IRL. So instead of buying something online,

(38:08):
you go to where it's made to get it. So,
for instance, you go on a vacation to let's say,
I don't know Korea or South Korea for Korean's skincare.

Speaker 1 (38:16):
That would be an example of that. One third trend for.

Speaker 2 (38:19):
Twenty twenty five is set jetting, which I think is
a returner from this year as well. But it's if
you like a show of some sort and they filmed
it on location, you vacation on location.

Speaker 1 (38:31):
Does that make sense?

Speaker 2 (38:32):
So for example, I just watched White Lotus for the
first time this past weekend, and that's a great example.
If you loved White Lotus, you would go to Hawaii
to see where they filmed season one. Travel dupes were
big in twenty twenty four, so for example, if you
couldn't afford to go to Paris this year, you would

(38:53):
go to Montreal. Dupes are big online, you know, for
the clothes, but I guess also for travel this year.
That's not necessarily fading for next year.

Speaker 1 (39:02):
But the focus is on travel detours.

Speaker 2 (39:06):
So you pick a destination, but you go on a
detour to another smaller destination like either on the way
or on the way home, which I feel like for
European travel is not new.

Speaker 1 (39:17):
Of course you go to more than one location.

Speaker 2 (39:20):
And then the last travel trend that stuck out to
me for twenty twenty five was the Phenomena list. The
phenom list, So this was all sparked from the solar eclipse.
People were traveling for the solar eclipse to BRND, you
know big places like for ASINSI we had totality here,
but let's say people I don't know, like in Boston.

(39:41):
My friends had to go up and drive four or
five hours up to Maine to see just about full totality.
So that sparked this trend of people being like, oh
my god, I was so connected to mother if the
if during that time. I want to go see all
these other big trends and these phenoms.

Speaker 1 (39:58):
Some on the list the International.

Speaker 2 (40:00):
Old Dark Sky Park, which is at Arches National Park
in Utah. The Penguin Parade which happens near Melbourne, Australia.
The Black Sun, I guess is a Starlings migration happens
in Denmark.

Speaker 1 (40:15):
That feels cool.

Speaker 13 (40:16):
I love that.

Speaker 2 (40:17):
There you go, hey, if you if you're like all
these song great, but I have no money. The keyword
for one thousand bucks this hour on my show was
stage to your chance at one thousand. If you want
to take that Nation Wi keyword, you just go to
kiss Cincinnati dot com or the iHeart app. It'll prompt
you with a box. As soon as you open either
one of them, type in the word stage. Okay. Coming
up at nine forty, we'll do the daily debrief. We

(40:37):
choose one big thing that we talked about on our
show today. This one on more of a sad note obviously,
but I want to give you this space to talk
about Liam Payne, maybe your connection to One Direction. That
was a really big thing for us growing up. So
I wanted to make sure that you had the opportunity.
We'll do that at nine fort Good morning, you're.

Speaker 4 (40:54):
Waking up with fifth in the morning.

Speaker 1 (40:56):
Hi, Kiss one seven one, Hi, good morning you're on
the air.

Speaker 3 (40:59):
I I was falling too.

Speaker 10 (41:01):
I just got back from a destination wedding as a bride.

Speaker 1 (41:05):
Yes, thank God, Good morning. You have to fill me
in on your thoughts.

Speaker 10 (41:09):
Yeah, so we actually just got back from Golf Shores,
Alabama last week for our my destination wedding. I think
it went great.

Speaker 4 (41:20):
We just did.

Speaker 10 (41:23):
Family, immediate family, and best friends and we're at a
house and got married the second day we were out
there and since the rest of the week vacationing with everyone.

Speaker 1 (41:33):
So I have two questions.

Speaker 2 (41:34):
One, you chose to do destination wedding, but in the
US you went to Alabama.

Speaker 1 (41:39):
I don't hear that. Typically usually you go over to
like an ocean.

Speaker 7 (41:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (41:42):
Correct.

Speaker 2 (41:44):
And then second, did you have anyone at that wedding
that would be like me, that's like, oh, here's our
single friend Tiffany, that's staying for too long?

Speaker 10 (41:54):
We actually had a lot of single friends come. Yeah,
and most people stay the whole week. People didn't say
the whole time, they left, like on Wednesday or something.
But yeah, we have plenty of single friends there.

Speaker 2 (42:07):
Okay, good, because it's gonna that's gonna be me, it's
gonna be my friend Mikey, his bride, his close intimate family,
and then Tiffany at the end of the table.

Speaker 10 (42:18):
I'm sure they're happy you're there.

Speaker 1 (42:19):
Well, thank you for the call. What's your name? What
what neighborho are you calling me from? This morning?

Speaker 10 (42:24):
Daniellen Lawnsburg.

Speaker 1 (42:25):
Danielle, thank you for the call. If you're just joining
the show.

Speaker 2 (42:27):
We were talking about a few minutes ago the top
travel trends for twenty twenty five. All inclusive is one
of them, and I was just mentioning that I'm going
by myself to an all inclusive resort for a wedding
two weeks from today.

Speaker 1 (42:40):
There you go, all right? Coming on next to the
daily Debrief, we'll get

Speaker 2 (42:44):
To some of our talkbacks that we'd have a chance
to get to today on Liam Payne and More, Don't
Go Far
