Speaker 1 (00:02):
When you need to know she's got you. It's three
things with tif On.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
City crews are still working around the clock to make
sure our residential roads are passable and stafe. I understand
the frustration from anyone whose street is covered. I understand,
I get it, I hear you, we understand.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
Well, you know that voice, that's mere Aftab right there
talking about kind of like what a nightmare it has
been out on the roads. First, I want to say
thanks to everyone that is putting in the effort to
clean up. I know that you're probably working NonStop at
the moment and that doesn't go unnoticed, but it can
be a challenge to get around. And it's now freezing.

(00:45):
We are seeing temperatures in the single digits. I think
the hardest decision I had to make this morning was
get up, get out of my house, and decide to
start my car earlier, because that's what adults are supposed
to do. And I'm proud of myself for that. If
you did the same thing, it is a war out
here when it comes to that. I mean nine degrees
and it's not gonna get above freezing for several days,

(01:06):
so the snow and I keep seeing different you know,
timetables on it, but everyone's pretty much in an agreement
anywhere from two to four inches depending on your location,
and that's going to move in sometime around late morning
on Friday, which could make the commute home a hair
dicey on Friday. And then we're just, you know, we're
still in the midst of cleaning up one before we
get another. I don't want you to feel overwhelmed by it,

(01:28):
but I am right alongside you and the fact that
I'm like, it's just it's hard to maneuver when it's
still a mess in some places.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
So I get you on that. When there's more, I'll
have it.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
I said this in the beginning of our seven o'clock
hour here that I am trying my best to operate
under the notion that everyone around you is doing the
best that they can with what they have, and it
hopefully will bring you some peace and just relax this morning,
all right.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
Second, and three things you need to know, guys. What
a nightmare?

Speaker 3 (01:58):
What a night mare California is? Literally it feels apocalyptic.
I've got lots of audio to play for you, so
let's start off with this one.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
I think this one's going viral right now, what is
the situation with water?

Speaker 2 (02:11):
Obviously in the Palisades ran out last night and in
the hydrants I was started the firefighter in this block.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
They laughed because there was no water in the hydrant here.
The local folks are trying to figure that out. I mean,
just when you have a system. There's not dissimilar to
what we've seen in other extraordinarily large scale fires.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
As of yesterday when we talked to the Pacific Palisades
were burning.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
They're gone, They're gone, and it was beautiful.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
Over a thousand structures are gone at the moment. Three
hundred thousand people in California are without power at the moment.
And this spread, This fire has spread, I read earlier
this morning.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
I don't know if that's changed since that.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
Three out of five fires have zero containment, which is
the true definition of a wildfire, just raging. It's now
gone up into the Hollywood Hills. If you're super familiar
maybe with that canyon you kind of see is it
called running Canyon?

Speaker 1 (03:01):
You always see that in movies and such. On fire.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
My best friend Hannah's in Santa Monica. It's spread to
the that area as far as evacuation.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
Zones going and evacuations are tough.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
I learned this from Milton when I talked to my
mom in Florida, different natural disaster, but when I said, Mom,
why aren't you evacuating, She's like, TIF, where do you
want me to go? Where am I going? With what money?
Time and energy? And where do you want me to stay?
I think it's the same for people in California, but
it felt like this came with no warning Sunday and
a Monday boom. Celebrities, I'm calling attention to them just

(03:36):
because I.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
Only know their names, right.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
I don't know the common people of California what their
names are, but they're right alongside celebrities when losing their homes.
Adam Brody, you'll know him from Nobody Wants This. It's
a huge show on Netflix that we talked about. Miles Teller,
Eugene Levy from Shit's Creek, Anthony Hopkins, Billy Crystal Springs,
Spencer Pratt, John Goodman, and Martin Short, Selena Gomez's TV

(03:59):
Uncle all lost their homes. People are struggling right now.
When there's more on that one, I'll have it for you.
Just there's no water. I give you an open phone
line or talk back with Tiff if you want to
chitchat about this all right. Lastly, and three things you
need to know this morning. The AFC North episode with
the Bengals of what's that show Hard Knocks?

Speaker 1 (04:19):
Came out light into each other, dig deep, ain't into
each other, and put yourself in a position man to
sit on your couch tomorrow watch some football cheer like
a fan, and pray to God we get into this
thing because okay, listen, I'm just gonna talk in positives
right now. Watch those four thirty games tomorrow. Okay, we'll
get you the scoedule for what it's gonna look like

(04:41):
on Tuesday. The Bengals have done all they can, but
it's not enough. Hey must lend a hand for Cincinnati
to make the playoffs. It's like we feel helpless, Like
I hate having to rely on like other people to
determine our future. But here we are now.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
I need the Bronco solution to a Chiefs.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
Correct and we need the Jets to take over and
help us out as well.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
So that also eliminated the to say Bengals, you obviously
know the outcome of this. At the moment right where
you know what happens to the Bengals. But we I
didn't realize that that was being recorded in real time
for the Hard Knocks episode. Devastating sad, you know, I mean,

(05:27):
I guess what were our expectations on it, really, but
to see the player's reactions, I believe you can watch
Hard Knocks on is it HBO Max?

Speaker 1 (05:35):
That episode is out now? All right?

Speaker 3 (05:37):
That is three things you need to know for the
ninth of January coming up at eight oh five. What
is the one thing you always carry around with you
in your bag? I'm curious if it matches up with
this list. Talk Back with tiff On iHeartRadio
