Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're waking up with fifth in the morning. Good morning.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
So if TikTok goes away on Sunday, are we gonna
use red Note? The one thing you need to know
about it in one second here, you know my rule
if something comes across my feed, get sent to me
on DMS or even in my own group text with
my girlfriends, three or more times we talk about it.
And I am genuinely curious as to what your thoughts
are on the TikTok band and if you'll move over

(00:27):
to red Note, or just your general thoughts, especially if
you're a content creator five win three seven, four nine
one O seven one.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
We can chitchat about it here.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
And the joke on the internet is TikTok is going away,
but in parentheses it says for real this time?

Speaker 1 (00:42):
So what is what is red Note?

Speaker 2 (00:46):
The one thing you need to know if you're going
to download Red Note is it is not an exact
replica of TikTok.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
It may eventually get there in time, but it is not.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
Red Note is a Chinese owned company that gained popularity
in the last couple of years, but it is not
an exact.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
Replica of TikTok.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Although I have seen a lot of people in hashtags, etc.
Saying like TikTok refuge, I'm moving over to Red Note now.
The reason being if you're like, wait a minute, I
thought we were banning this thing because of the Chinese.
Because Byte Dance, who owns TikTok is, is a Chinese company.
Why would we move over directly to a Chinese company?

(01:26):
I was confused about that as well. The owner of
byte Dance said, it is a Chinese founded private company
operating many businesses in China, but it is global in nature.
The thing you need to know about byte Dance is
that it is like a complex corporate, multi layered structure,
but it is ultimately a private owned technology giant. But

(01:49):
the you know, the Western hemisphere is nervous that there's
you know, it could be the Chinese could be stealing
our data. So why would we just go over and
give it to Rednote? Think because the American people are
a and pissed that they're.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
Getting rid of it.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
Yes, I saw the thing yesterday that they're asking for
an extension, etc. But this is just one thing after another,
kicking the can down the road.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
Right, What was the other thing I wanted to say?
About it. Oh yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
I think people in the US are annoyed with Meta
and Facebook and Mark Zuckerberg, so they don't really want
to be a part of that. YouTube shorts, I would say,
would be the next big competitor, especially in the beta
generation that's coming up as of this year.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
And X.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
I think the YouTube consumption is really really high, but
YouTube is going to start integrating AI as well at
some point or another, and so you might find less
authenticity and more AI.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
And then Twitter is just I'm a big fan. I
still use X.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
I use X a lot for news, but TikTok has
really just cemented itself in twenty two thousands culture or
twenty twenty culture.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
People love it, I get it. People make money off
of it.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
I am at this point where I've stopped contributing to
the app and wasting my time on it, but I
still definitely consume it. It will not disappear from your phone.
If you're like, Okay, well what happens now? You will
if it goes through on Sunday, you'll no longer be
able to download the app and become a new user,
but you'll still be able to access it, but you

(03:20):
won't have access to any of the privacy updates, et cetera.
So over time the app quality will degrade and you'll
probably just leave it behind.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
Let's do this before we get to the wallows.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
Tickets, you know, red note is the keyword you're gonna
need for them in a couple of minutes. Let's get
your opinion five, one, three, seven, four nine, one oh
seven one, just general thoughts about TikTok going away.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
You can also talk back with Tiff. Hi, good morning.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
You're waking up with Tiff in the morning on Kiss
one oh seven one.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
Could you survive without TikTok totally? I hate TikTok. I
think that place is a cess pool of misinformation, and
I think I would just ride without TikTok brainly, well,
thank you for the talkback, Tiff.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
When you search a kiss on iHeartRadio, it's an alternative
way to contribute to the show's conversation. You'll see the
microphone right next to the play button, and you just
hold that down and you have thirty seconds to leave
me a voice note.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
I'm a big voice notes person.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
I leave everyone voice notes, so it's only fitting that
I have it on my own radio show.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
That's what we're in the midst of talking about this morning.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
If TikTok goes through the ban on Sunday, how could.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
You survive without it? Will? Will you go over to
red Note.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Red Note, by the way, is the keyword You're gonna
need to win the Wallows tickets. You can get caught
up on the podcast once the show wraps up. But
we were just talking about how the internet might start
migrating over to this quote new version of TikTok.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
I said this from Jump.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
The one thing you need to know about Red Note
is that it is not going to be an exact
replica of what you know on TikTok.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
I'm going to have a really hard time without TikTok.
I'm one of those people that is a doom scroller.
Late at night when I can't sleep, I get on
that app and I just.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
Scroll, scroll, scroll.

Speaker 3 (04:58):
It helps me fall back asleep, and I'm gonna have
a really hard time if it does go away. Fingers
crossed it doesn't. Because I love some TikTok.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
I agree with you in the sense that it does
provide entertainment. Now I have to be extremely conscious about
how much time I spend on there. I will look
at the clock when I open up the app and
set a timer for myself, and I often find myself
pushing that timer. An hour could go by while you're
just on TikTok. Do I think it's entertaining. That's why

(05:28):
I scroll. I don't necessarily look for information and news,
but I do see news come up quite a bit.
Is there misinformation? Yeah, I think there's misinformation everywhere. Though
we still have time for one more. You can always
contribute to the conversation as well.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
I should survive without TikTok because basically I just hate scroll.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
Like I'll go through all of like everything in my feed,
and like it's just I get so mad and so annoyed.
I just hate everyone I see on TikTok. I just
can't stand it. But I spend so much time.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
Girl, I mean, two each his own. That feels like
a waste, but to each is own. It's funny how
we all interact with the app very differently. I don't
think I'm alone in this, but when I'm on TikTok,
I don't want to see a single person that I know.
I go over to Instagram for that. When I'm on TikTok,
I'm in.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
A different world where Tiffany doesn't exist.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
All right, coming up next, If you can give me
three minutes, I will give you two tickets to Wallows.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
They're coming to the Brady.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
I discovered this band maybe four or five months ago,
and I.

Speaker 1 (06:30):
Love them, love, love love.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
So maybe you're a big fan of Wallows and you're like,
oh my god, they're coming. I want to go, or
you want to just be introduced to a new experience
in Cincy.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
You have a chance to win.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
Like I said, three minutes from now, with the keyword
red note.

Speaker 1 (06:44):
You're waking up with you see if in the morning
on kiss when I was.

Speaker 2 (06:47):
Seven to one, Good morning, Good morning. I'm hoping you
have a keyword for me?

Speaker 1 (06:50):
Is it red note? Congratulations? You got the keyword and
you're calling over ten. Thank you, You're welcome. What's your name?
What neighbor are you calling me from? This morning? Amber Bridge?

Speaker 2 (07:00):
Amber, Thank you for waking up with tiff in the
morning every day.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
We're in the midst of talking about TikTok yes or
no thoughts on the band. While we're at it, you
might as well contribute.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
I use TikTok as Google.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
I like TikTok, but a biggest band, I've moved to
something else.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
Okay, would you re download a new app that was
similar to TikTok or you think you would just move
on from the experience.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
I was reels on Facebook, so I probably did move on. Yeah,
I'm with you.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
I haven't quite decided, amber, but I liked your take
on that. I appreciate you.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
Thank you, You're welcome.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
If you took an l on the wallows tickets, just
set a reminder to get up with Tiff in the
morning every day this week around eight thirty, I have
your chance to win.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
I'm still very curious on your take.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
You know, I haven't quite decided, Like I mentioned there,
what I would do if TikTok really got band the
band went through on Sunday, how would I move forward
with my life? I think this could be a really
good time for me to be conscious about what.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
I would want out of the app or a new app.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
If I were to download something, rather than just having
either another thing to work on or another distraction in
my life, I think I'd be very intentional moving forward.

Speaker 1 (08:08):
That's one thing I do know about this al right.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
In the meantime, we're still commercial free, and we are
not far off from the three things you need to know.
