Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're waking up with fifth in the morning Kiss on
US seven one Good morning.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
West Side's the keyword you're gonna need for the singles package.
We're celebrating singles and solos all week on my show.
Coming up in about ten or so minutes, I'm hooking
you up with single tickets to various things around the Tristam.
Speaker 1 (00:18):
All right, I.
Speaker 2 (00:19):
Got myself involved in a war on the West Side,
and this is actually your fault.
Speaker 1 (00:25):
Last week.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
If you were a part of the show usually and regularly,
you might know that I was talking about this sign
wars happening between Word Way, Snoko, other businesses have gotten
involved to on Glenway.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
We're on the west Side, and we talked about it.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
You sent me screenshots and so this weekend I went
and I checked it out. I'm gonna play the story
for you, but if you are a visual person alongside listening,
you can watch it at the tiff two F's Potter
like the Wizard. It is the number one thing in
my stories. Quick backstory just in case you are on
the east Side and you have yet to make your
way over to the west Side and see it.
Speaker 1 (01:02):
There's a place called Wardway.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
Kevin works there has for years locally owned propane store. Awesome,
lot of young kids from Elder and Seat and work there.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
Also. I heard that there's a thing between Elder.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
And col Raine. I'm learning You'll have to update me
on that one if that's true or not. And they had,
you know, put up a sign for rooting for the
Kansas City Refs, I mean the Chiefs.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
Right, that was like a whole thing, but.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
They misspelled something, and so Wardway and this privately owned Sonoco.
They were kind of going back and forth, right, I'm
assuming they're privately owned on these marquee signs, and all
these businesses kind of got involved in it.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
So I'm gonna play it for you and then we
will chat.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
Thursday, we put up a message about the bills, hoping
to beat the Kansas City Refs, I mean the Chiefs.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
Tip in the morning, listeners sent me screenshots of a
marquee sign war between Wardway, a family run propane store
on Glenway, and the Sonoko up the street on the
west side.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
A simple spelling mistake. I started a friendly back of.
Speaker 3 (02:01):
Our friends down the street at Sonoko quickly picked up
on it and told us to spell check and that
kind of opened the floodgates and we had a nice
back and forth for the last For the last week,
it's been fun.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
Say anything to the people of the West Side right now,
what would you tell them?
Speaker 3 (02:17):
Thanks for reading us, and we appreciate your patronage and
support and a bits.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
What is a West Side thing?
Speaker 4 (02:23):
I think it's a community of people that really like
to have fun with each other, and they like to
have our inside jokes and little things that make us
happy in our daily lives, like driving past the signs.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
Guys, Like I said, if you're a visual person, you
could see you could see it all on Instagram. I
started this thing called TIFFs Community Corner. You guys know,
every day when you call, I ask you what your
name is and what neighborhood are you calling me from?
And it was my way of trying to learn and
become integrated into the different parts of the neighborhoods here
in the Tri State. And so this whole thing is
(02:55):
about meeting, discovering, and learning about the people that make
up our neighborhoo. So, although I'm involved in a heavy
war on the West Side, if there's something that you
want me to visit, if there's like a unique thing
happening in your neighborhood. All you have to do is
shoot me at DM simply at the tiff two f
s Potter like the Wizard.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
I've sent my Instagram.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
About four hundred times when I'm neurodivergent, so as my
brain is processing things, sometimes it repeats itself.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
I know I'm working through it. Who's you know?
Speaker 2 (03:23):
Who would have thought I would have had a career in broadcasting.
Everyone on the West Side has been so nice. You know,
Kevin was great. I have yet to hear from Sunoco.
I hope someday that they reach out to me and
I can go visit them as well. But the one
thing I've always heard, and that I was super nervous
about going over there, was this if I live on
the East Side, am I welcome back to the West Side?
Speaker 4 (03:43):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (03:43):
You are? I mean you don't get.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
