Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're waking up with fifth in the morning.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
Good morning, It's travel Tuesday with Tip and our travel
expert Michelle.
Speaker 1 (00:06):
Good morning, Good morning.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
We've been dissecting this solo Europe trip for the last
couple of weeks, and now I'm getting ready to actually
get on the plane and go.
Speaker 1 (00:15):
My yah, it is time here.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
If you're just joining us for maybe the first time,
you know, I do a lot of conversation on social
media and on the show around doing things solo, and
I felt like this is the one big thing that
I felt like I really needed to work myself up
towards in two was this solo trip to Ireland. Yeah,
I'm going on my own. Yeah maybe. So here's the
breakdown of it. I'm leaving in two tuesdays to go
(00:43):
to Ireland for a wedding.
Speaker 1 (00:45):
I'm going to go for an entire week.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
I'll go to the wedding by myself, but the first
chunk I'll fly into Dublin, spend some time there, then
get myself to the town where the wedding is. I'll
spend a couple of nights there and then I've kind
of got the last bit of the trip to go
on by myself and I haven't quite figured that out yet.
So some things I wanted to cover today is just
where I'm at mentally, and if this is a touch
(01:08):
point of inspiration for someone to maybe do the same,
or if someone else has advice and tips that I
need to know as I get ready to embark on
this big solo journey, absolutely so chime in. When I
first went to Michelle, I said to you, gal, like,
I don't even know where to.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
Begin on booking a solo trip.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
The only trips I've ever really booked have been with
friends or to all inclusive resources, so.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
It's totally different. It's entirely different.
Speaker 3 (01:32):
And having to do all of that by yourself, sometimes
for a destination you've never been to, it's very overwhelming.
When I first started solo traveling, too, I did what
a lot of people do. I went onto social media
and tried to find people who were doing this, and
a lot of it was the advice was just book it,
just book it and go, and I can't it more.
I'm like, Okay, that is great advice, and I appreciate that,
(01:54):
but also I.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
Need more information. Where do I begin?
Speaker 3 (01:57):
Yeah, So that's why I love that you are doing
this and you came to me to help out because
I think it's so important to give people that helping
hands so that they can get out of town.
Speaker 2 (02:06):
And there's been lots of conversations, so you can go
get caught up on the podcast on any of our
Travel Tuesday episodes where we break all the tips down,
the security concerns, the fears, this and that. The one
thing that I've learned in the trip lanning process for
this is I thought that I was going to be
the person that needed literally every single detail planned out,
just because I was so nervous.
Speaker 1 (02:28):
Yeah, and here we are.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
I don't even have the second half of the trip
planned and I'm considering just planning it on the go. Yeah,
which is very much unlike me in that type of environment.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
It's who I am here at home.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
But I was really fearful to bring that type of
a vibe to a foreign country. But I think I'm
gonna just let it go and try to just live.
I think you're ready for it.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
When I first started so traveling, I had everything planned
down by the minute sun up to sun down because
I needed that security because of what if something goes wrong?
What am I going to do, and I think you
are probably ready to let that go and win it
a little bit.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
I'm so nerve.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
The one thing that I'm hoping to get out of
this is really just the empowered confidence to say, Hey,
if I want to go do something outside of the
four walls of my city.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
I can go and do it.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
If I want to go to something outside of the
four walls of the United States of America, I can
go and do it.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
And I don't need someone else to do it with.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
I can start living my life in a way that
I feel aligned with. That is what I'm really hoping
to get out of this, just like a breath of
confidence to be able to continue that post this trip,
Like this is an English speaking country, I'm going to Ireland, right,
It's not that far from the United States. But what
if I want to go somewhere deeper and explore on
my own a little bit more. Is this something that
(03:51):
I'm going to see through the lens of someone else's
screen or am I going to be able to be
the one to do it and.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
Share it with you? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (03:58):
Absolutely, those are all great questions to be asking yourself
as you head into this, and just to give you
a little bit of a pep talk to okay, help
you get through there. If you recall, it's coming up
on almost one year since we met. And we met
because you were talking about travel and you said you
would just come back from Amsterdam, and you said, I
feel like if I were to ever go on a
trip alone, it would be Amsterdam.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
And here you are less than a year later.
Speaker 3 (04:20):
It's not Amsterdam, but it's pretty darn class and you
have been putting in the work and I've been here
to see it, and I'm just so crazy proud.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
Thank you.
Speaker 4 (04:28):
Jo.
Speaker 3 (04:28):
Whatever it is that you learn from this is you're
going to find a way to turn that into a
positive thing and have that empower you and propel you
forward when you come back home.
Speaker 1 (04:38):
And if you're listening right now, one you have tips
and advice.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
I always end the segment with you calling or dming
me five one three seven four nine one oh seven one.
You can also reach out to Michelle. She's the Jane
of all travels. She's tagging all of our videos that
we post on social And then lastly, like, this is
just something that I'm doing personally, but I hope to
bring you along. If you're listening right now and you
you're feeling inspired to maybe do the same or two
(05:02):
like that is crazy.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
I could never do it right. It's just a way
to you know.
Speaker 2 (05:07):
Grow, And so I'm if if I can inspire someone
else to maybe do the same, I'm happy to put
myself out there for it.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
So thank you Michelle. Here, thank you. We're going to Ireland.
We're excited here.
Speaker 5 (05:17):
We are because you're waking up with Tiff in the
morning on just one o.
Speaker 1 (05:21):
Seven to one. Good morning. I'm hoping you have a
keyword for me.
Speaker 4 (05:26):
It is solo.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
Congratulations you're getting her since the summer summer passports stamped
tickets to the museum center.
Speaker 4 (05:33):
Awesome.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
What's your name? What neighborhood? Do you wake it up with me?
Speaker 4 (05:36):
And it's Katrina and I'm in Loveland, Katrina.
Speaker 1 (05:39):
They've got the new Barbie exhibit there.
Speaker 5 (05:41):
Oh fun, I know, take my niece there.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
Yeah, I love it. It looks like it'd be a cool exhibit.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
I have have haven't had a chance yet to go myself,
but I'm happy for you. Thank you for listening to
Tiff in the morning every day.
Speaker 4 (05:53):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
Would you travel somewhere solo? Do you have advice. Have
you done it?
Speaker 4 (05:57):
I have and I would.
Speaker 5 (05:59):
I've been to church solo.
Speaker 4 (06:01):
I spend to Italy solo.
Speaker 5 (06:04):
Yeah, girl, tips, I don't know. You just have to
do a lot of research.
Speaker 4 (06:12):
You have to like sign up for they're called step
alerts to tell you, like if it's advisable or not
advisable to travel in certain areas. And then it kind
of gets you on the radar of you know, various
governments and things so that they kind of know, okay,
she's in the area, and you know, just kind of
keeping track and just doing things that are safe for you.
(06:35):
And then also just making sure that you take time
to stop and small the roses, don't pack your days full,
and then just be aware of your surroundings.
Speaker 5 (06:45):
You know, we can we can do it all.
Speaker 4 (06:47):
As females solo. We can probably do even more. I
really recommend.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
What's the one thing that you hope I gain from
doing a solo trip since you've done.
Speaker 5 (06:56):
It, knowing yourself, knowing yourself so much deeper, Like you
will just learn so much about yourself and know what
you truly value and just be impressed and proud of
yourself for doing it.
Speaker 4 (07:10):
Well.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
You've inspired me, Mike Gal, thank you so much for
listening to the show.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
You're welcome if you took an L on these tickets.
Speaker 2 (07:17):
Every day at eight thirty, I'm giving you a hypothetical
stamp for your Sincy summer passport. So set a reminder
