Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're waking up with fifth in the morning, hun kiss
one who.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
I went to my first church festival this weekend. Let
me tell you, I'm drink in a course light in
God's parking lot.

Speaker 1 (00:11):
A little bizarre, but I loved it.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
I love when you invite me to random things, because
you know me. I typically try to go to at
least one thing every weekend. That's why I started TIFFs
community corners. Where you were, you know, you introduced me
to the people, to places and the things that make
up the neighborhoods of Cincinnati. And there's a lot of
unique ones. And I uh spent Saturday night in Amelia.

(00:35):
I think at Saint Bernadette's church festival. I may have
made the name up on that one, but that's where
I think I was. And let me tell you, I
mean they were gambling. There's gambling. I mean, all in
good fun and hopefully in good faith. You gotta do
what you gotta do to raise the money for the community.
So I had such lovely time and all of the

(00:57):
you know, the volunteers that work the beer booths and such,
they're nice. They're like, here, have a beer, have a
cores light, take a load off, it's a Saturday. But
they had all the great things. I mean, there was
a bucket of fries for like four dollars.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
Loved that.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
Ice cream. What else did I see there? When you
went and bought a hot dog and a hamburger, it
was someone's like uncle, just grilling it up in the back.
It wasn't like a food truck. I said, this is cool.
I loved it. So if I might be missing something
on church festival culture, I'm down to go again. Please
let me know. I learned something from this sweet woman there.

(01:32):
What conversation could you possibly have with the stranger for
an hour and a church parking lot that has nothing
to do with religion. I learned about something called sweepstaking.
There's an I in g at the end of that.
It's a thing. Now, this woman I blanket on her name.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
I'm so sorry. She was sweet.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
She said, you know, she wanted me to make it
very clear to you that she still has a full
time job, but she does sweepstaking and she's made thousands
of dolls.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
And of course you know me. I was like, well,
I'm sat tell me more.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
She said, I almost missed fifteen thousand dollars because I
got an email from a sweepstakes that I entered during
a Super Bowl commercial contest this past year. I said,
what fifteen thousand dollars fifteen thous dollar? She said, the
number one tip by half for you is you have
to have a sweepstakes email. You gotta have a whole
entire new I've essentially a new identity. You have to

(02:26):
have your regular life identity, and then you have to
have your sweepstakes life identity.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
And she's like, you got to stay on it.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
But there's there are websites and Facebook groups and all
sorts of things that where these people just enter sweepstakes
all day long. I mean, I've got one thousand dollars
coming up at nine oh five, not fifteen grand like
the super Bowl has.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
Though.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Here's what I want to do five win, three seven,
four nine, one oh seven one.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
Church festival is the keyword.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
You're gonna need to win the King's Island tickets coming
up later on too, showed eight thirty. Talk to me
about some things at your church festival that I might
have missed. Tell me, is there someone in your life
or that you know of that I just happen to
be catching in Cinci that does sweepstaking for a living,
