Speaker 1 (00:01):
Good morning, Tampa Bay nine to seventy WFLA talking fishing,
Gonna be here until eight o'clock.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Unfortunately only till eight o'clock.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
That's the way it works. Yes, sir, looks like looks
like we got some good weather, buddy. Yeah, yeah, this
weekend looks pretty nice. I mean, you got a chance
for some moisture in the air. Obviously a little foggy
this morning and probably gonna be foggy again tomorrow. We
got some afternoon potential basically today and tomorrow. But you

(00:33):
got a nice little weather window ahead of that cold
front that's gonna be sliding through Monday pretty late afternoon,
really Monday.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
Night at this point slowed down a little bit, but
gonna get a little nautical there Monday into Tuesday before
it calms down. It looks real nice second half of
the work week, coming up on the backside of that
full moon right now, coming to a quarter moon Thursday.
So I would say your best chances for fishing would
probably be this weekend if you can capitalize on that

(01:01):
pre front byte backside of the moon bite and hopefully
the fish will be excited as that front slides down
backside of the full moon. Eh, better than nothing. At
least tides are still moving. Yeah, that's true, I guess.
And then I mean after the cold front slides through Wednesday,
it calms down. Thursday should be pretty nice, So you

(01:21):
have that opportunity on the quarter moon, right before ahead
of a next what seems to be a pretty bad
to the bone, potentially pretty strong front, which is I
mean the prefrontal activity seems to start Friday, December twelfth,
so basically almost a week from today, and then man,
it looks like a serious front next weekend, So get

(01:45):
out and take advantage of it in these weather windows
when we have the opportunity. Basically this weekend and then
kind of mid to late work week are your two windows.
And if you don't get out, then you're not going
to be fishing.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
That's the way it works this time of the year.
Our weather update brought to you our good friends at
Reese Windows and Doors, is leading window endoor company over

Visit recewindows dot com for more information. Special guest in
studio today, good friend of mine. We've actually become pretty
good buds over the last couple of years here. You know,
you probably know the voice Flats Mafia Bubba Captain Bubba
Benicourt in the studio this morning.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
We are morning, good morning, we are.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
It's good to see you, buddy too, having me, Yeah,
I don't see all the time.

Speaker 3 (02:42):
Let's were working, you know, Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
So South Tampa guys, they hide in South Tampa.

Speaker 4 (02:46):
Dude.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
It's hard.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
Yeah, it's hard to get them out of South Tampa. Dude.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
On the other side of the bridge, I haven't seen
Bubba in a minute.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
Yeah, it's been a long time, dude.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
But we are. We are promoting their eighth annual Flats
Mafia Ugly Sweater Party. It's going to be December thirteenth,
which is that Saturday, right, Yeah, next Saturday, Next Saturday
at Riveters. That's the comedy club.

Speaker 5 (03:11):
No, it's actually a sports bar. Yeah, and it's easy
to be found because it's right next to the spaceship
to two thousand and one spaceship, so use.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
That as your landmark. But just make sure you go
to Riveters right next door.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
There's so many bad directions that whole thing could just
go right now. You know. It's it's it's a toy
drive is what we are doing here. So we are
gathering toys, unwrapped toys, and cash for raffles. All toys
will be donated to the Saint Joe's Saint Joe's Kids Hospital,
which I think is cool. They got some big raffle items,

(03:47):
big trolling motor of three day stay in the Florida
Keys with a fishing trip as well. So when did
y'all start doing that? I know I've heard you guys
promoted before. You and I did a big donation last
year last Yeah, you hooked us up. It really started.
It started about like I said, probably about eight years ago.
But we got with Angling for Angling for Relief when

(04:09):
they first just kind of started. And the kid, actually Jake,
he was twelve years old when he started.

Speaker 5 (04:16):
Yeah, because he had a friend that his friend Finn
had cancer, stopped coming outside and he couldn't really comprehend
why he couldn't do it. Then he started realizing and
he told his mom, Hey, I want to start this nonprofit.
And we got with them early on when they first
started doing it, and little by little man, each each
year we've.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
Grown more and more.

Speaker 5 (04:37):
And then just in the last two years, we caught
wind of this little girl that was actually fighting cancer
at the time, selling lemonade while she was fighting cancer
to raise money to give toys to the kids in
the hospital. So as soon as we heard that, as
soon as we heard that, we're like, we're giving her
all our toys that we raised and then we as

(05:00):
a group and donate it on her behalf. And it
it's been it's been crazy, man, because just to see
like sheep from from her fighting and her knowing what
it's like to be in the hospital and her knowing, Hey,
how big these toys mean to these kids in the morning,

(05:22):
because they we donate a huge trailer, they go separate
all the toys, and then the kids that are staying
in the hospital, even their siblings, they come down and
they actually get to walk in this huge room and
go through and and and really make their Christmas morning special.
Being that it's so hard and so tough for the
whole family. So it really just you know, try to

(05:43):
brighten up their Christmas, brighten up their spirits.

Speaker 3 (05:45):
You know.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
During that time, well, you know what I was just
as you were talking, I was thinking the three of us,
you know, as we were sitting here before the show.
Bubba's all proud dad moments showing the pictures of us, yes, sir,
the little the two little ones there, and we were
just out Metropolity Ministries doing our big food drive and
we got to see your you know, beautiful family there,
Emily and the two little ones, and then mine ain't

(06:09):
so little. But you know, last night I was at
my grande. I got grandkids. Yeah, but I mean you
you you when this time of year when you start
to think about your blessings and then you think about
to me, it breaks my heart that we have this
issue in this big, bad to the bone country we

(06:31):
live in. We have kids waking up with no toys,
with no means you know parents. And again, you know,
we talk about this in the when we're doing the
Metropolitan Ministries are fishing for hope food drive. You know. Yeah,
you know, there's there's some people out there that just
don't get up in the morning and get after it.
I get that. That being said, there's a lot of
people that just fall on hard times. Yeah, there's a

(06:54):
lot of straight up, hard working, good people that just
for whatever reason, it ain't their year, it ain't there,
six months, whatever it is, and it flips their world
upside down.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
And in today's world, they could take something as simple
as getting hurt, you know. Oh yeah, if you get hurt,
you get sick. It doesn't take long, No, it doesn't.
It's spirals quick. I don't know if I talked about it.
I probably did because it was Metropolitan Ministries. But I
fished a family when we were doing Keith Overton and
I did a little show together. We did like ten

(07:24):
episodes of it, and it was fishing these families from
these charities. That these families had been helped by the
charities so we could showcase the charities and all the
good work they do. And the one with the Tampa
Bay lightning was Metropolitan Ministries, and that the father, the wife,
the mom, and the little guy were living in a car. Wow,
And he was a guy who had a real good job.

(07:45):
They lost their job, he lost his job, They lost
their apartment.

Speaker 1 (07:47):
Next thing. No, they're living in their car. Metropolitan ministries,
you know, they take them in, they get them back
on their feet. And again, hard working dude, good people,
just man. Like you said, it doesn't take much. So
this is the time of year, especially with everything going
on in the government and all the craziness, you know,
with the snap and all that. Wherever you stand on
that's irrelevant right now. There's people that need it. They

(08:09):
need the food, they need the toys for Christmas. I
think what you guys do is a great thing. I
really do. I think that's awesome. You man.

Speaker 3 (08:15):
Thank you.

Speaker 5 (08:16):
Yeah, we came and helped y out out before. You
got to keep me in my next time because I
love to bring my kids out there and let them
be a part of that to help out again, because
you know, it's just it gives you a good feeling.
But you really know, you can see the people that
you're helping, the people that come through the line. You know,
they're so appreciative. So I mean, it's just this is
the time of the year to get back. If you're

(08:37):
able to help, you do it. You try to do
everything you can well.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
And I would say I would say to the listeners,
I would say, just take a step back this morning
while you're drinking your coffee. Whatever it is your Saturday
morning routine is maybe you get up early and you
go to the gym, maybe you go for a walk.
Maybe you don't do anything. You just wander around your
house because you work week was so tough. But just
take a look around your house. I do it every
time we get to Metropolitan Ministries. And I'll probably keep

(09:02):
referring that because you know, I opened I did it
this morning, like I just went to the kitchen and
opened the fridge and there's food. You know, every Christmas
in my lifetime, Thank god, I woke up on Christmas
morning as a kid, there was toys under the tree.
We had a big Christmas. We were blessed. Some people
just don't have that. To me, that's heartbreaking. If you

(09:25):
have the means to give back, you should definitely, and
it's cool to do give us your kids.

Speaker 2 (09:29):
I mean my kids are at the age now at
four and six, and my wife and I talked about
that because we're doing a small toy drive at Hubbard's too,
and it's we did the Metropolitan Ministries food drive as
a family and now coming into Christmas. It's it's an
interesting opportunity to take the kids to the to the
Target or the Walmart and buy toys like, hey, these

(09:51):
aren't for you, going to another kid and why and
trying to explain that it's it's interesting to make those connections.

Speaker 1 (09:57):
I think it's I think it's a great it's a
great eight teaching opportunity for them. I remember the first
time we had Georgia at Metropolitan Ministries and having her
walk through that whole place, yeah, and watching the light
come on that these people don't have what I have.
They don't have a full, you know, room full of
toys and a Christmas tree and all that stuff. So yeah,
it's a good time to give back. Super excited to

(10:19):
have our good friend from Flats Mafia, Captain Bubba Bennicourt
in studio. We're gonna be talking about the Ugly Sweater Party.
We're actually gonna be talking some fishing as well. Hopefully
we'll hear from you your questions, comments, fishing reports. Bring
them right here. One eight hundred and nine six nine

(10:41):

fun at Bubba, it's all good. We'll let you give

phone lines here if I can find my cursor, got it,
so check in with Donald in loots. Donald, what's up, buddy?

Speaker 6 (11:36):
Hey, I've said it many times. The fishing community in
the Tampa Bay area is the best in the entire world.
You know when our need is, you know, met we
step up to the plate. Hey, Bob, I saw you
a couple of times out there on the water from
my kayak, and.

Speaker 7 (11:55):
So it's it's it's very cool that.

Speaker 6 (11:58):
You're on the air with these guys and talking about
Jake and angling for relief because I volunteered a couple
of times with them taking kids fishing, and uh donated
a couple of rods and reels. I don't need a
kayak verted to their house and uh yeah, they had
a raffle on that and uh so that was cool.

(12:21):
They were able to sell that and get some money.

Speaker 7 (12:25):
I was very happy about that.

Speaker 6 (12:27):
So it seems like I picked a pretty good day
for my DOSCI event from what I'm understanding what you
guys are talking about. The weather heading out to hand.

Speaker 3 (12:34):
Cloat, Yeah looks pretty good.

Speaker 6 (12:37):
Yeah, she should be good fishing the river. I'm going
to be doing that. And uh instead of doing hot
dogs today, I've got brought worse. Let me go.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
That must be that must be an honor to the
Packer Bears game tomorrow.

Speaker 7 (12:55):
Yes, go back, go.

Speaker 1 (12:59):
Very there, looking pretty good they are. There's no doubt,
there's no doubt, no doubt.

Speaker 3 (13:04):
No, Sophomore, we're not.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
We're not. We're not sitting at home celebrating. I can
promise you that we're nailed by gold. Be a good one.
That's gonna be a good one. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (13:14):
Yeah, I'm worried about Carolina. Is making me a little
nervous here.

Speaker 1 (13:19):
They look good, Carolina.

Speaker 6 (13:23):
Yeah, they're looking good. So you know it's it's gonna be.
It's tough. We we do not have this division nail
down yet.

Speaker 1 (13:30):
Oh, they'll take care of business. So the Bucks will
take care of business here this week. And get on
a roll here.

Speaker 4 (13:36):
Hot.

Speaker 1 (13:36):
Yeah, I gotta get hot, exactly, no doubt, no doubt.
All right, my friend, good stuff. Stay safe out there.
And listen, did you boil the brats yesterday? And beer?
You know that's how it works, right, you got to
boil them the day before and beer that I'm sitting
that sauce overnight. Then grilla, I did not know that
that's the specialty. That's cheesehead land. Okay, sharing some cheesehead

(13:58):
secrets with you.

Speaker 8 (13:59):
I know that he doesn't light up like that fishing.
We're talking important stuff here, b Well, brought happy now.

Speaker 5 (14:10):
I appreciate you helping out with the nonprofiting man and
being being a part of the fishing community like that.

Speaker 6 (14:16):
Oh, absolutely I missed Steve Hoffman STAFFSHA Wranglers. I was
huge with them.

Speaker 1 (14:23):
Used to go to all.

Speaker 6 (14:23):
Their events and uh and stuff for all their charity
events and donate money. And that was one of the
best organizations you know that you know in Tampa Bay.
But you know it's unfortunately COVID killed a lot.

Speaker 1 (14:39):
Yeah, a lot of things down for sure.

Speaker 6 (14:42):
But anyway, we we do what we can do, you know,
and and that's what it's about, no doubt.

Speaker 1 (14:48):
You do a great job giving back. My friend, have
a great Saturday, and good luck out there. Catch them
up with Chat with you tomorrow.

Speaker 6 (14:54):
Yes, sir, you guys, stay care of stay safe in
tight lines. Everybody's listening. Was going out there.

Speaker 1 (14:59):
Yes, everybody, if you are headed out there, be careful
because she's a little fogg was soopy. Yeah, that fog
on the Howard Franklin was not pretty.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
That's the phone call. I just got the twelve hour
night snappers coming in. They got about a thirty pound kobea,
a nice big fourteen pound red group bro, a good
amount of mangroves, but some big lanes and Captain James
just said he can hardly see the bow pulpit. Yeah,
wah from the wheelhouse.

Speaker 1 (15:24):
That was that bad.

Speaker 5 (15:26):
I mean I can only imagine coming in from over there.
But just the bridge alone.

Speaker 1 (15:29):
Yeah, the bridge is bad. Yeah, it was bad this morning.
So definitely be safe out there. I will tell you
the inshore butte is really good. I don't know what
you're seeing, Bubba, but it's been pretty solid. Lot of
redfish the trout. Although I'm not seeing a lot of
big trout, I'm seeing some decent trout fifteen to twenty inches.
For me, big trout is anything over twenty Dude, did
you see the photo I sent you? Nope, Bro.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
John Sasser, our buddy in John's pass caught an over
twenty seven. I think it was more like twenty eight.
Just the belly on this trout in the past. Oh dude, horse,
you know what.

Speaker 1 (16:04):
And I was wondering because in some of the spots
where we were catching them, because we even in the summertime,
we had a really good big trout by a lot
of fish over twenty inches. And I've been fishing trout
the last couple of trips. Do some red fishing first,
then catch some trout. And we're catching good trout, but
not as good as we were catching. And I wondered
if they didn't dump into the passes, especially around that moon.

(16:24):
Was this this week leading up to the moon. Yeah, yeah,
around that you know, the passes are really key. Around
the moon, you get that big water flow. Those fish
feel that too, and they move to those passes where
they know they can get that quick, solid meal, you know,
coming through there. They don't have to work too hard.
That tide's going to bring the food to them. They're
like people, they're lazy.

Speaker 5 (16:44):
Yeah, we caught we we've been catching some good trout,
but not like you know, the big over.

Speaker 1 (16:48):
Twenty seven, twenty eighth. Great, Yeah, that's a great.

Speaker 2 (16:50):
It was a horse.

Speaker 1 (16:51):
I haven't seen one of the trout I've ever seen that. Yeah,
my biggest and twenty five years is twenty seven. And
that was a long time.

Speaker 5 (16:57):
Ago, thirty three in Boca gram whoa, Hey.

Speaker 3 (17:01):
This is back when I had an ugly stick and
you had to measure it had.

Speaker 5 (17:03):
A stick, We measured it, dropped it, it went between
my legs.

Speaker 3 (17:07):
We lost it.

Speaker 2 (17:08):
That fish wasn't supposed to die, No, of course.

Speaker 1 (17:11):
Yeah, you never want to kill one that big good stuff.
Cap'n Bubba Bencort Flats Mafia Ugly Sweater Party, December thirteenth
at Riveters. We're talking fishing, we're talking helping the community.
Light these phone lines up one nine sixt nine nine
three five to the bartell Ford Real Animals Radio Show.
We'll be back, Welcome back six thirty six here at

(17:35):
the iHeart Media Empire, the Big Fella Cam Bubba Bencort
in studio with us. He is Flats Mafia Ugly Sweater
Party December thirteenth at Riveters there on Dale Maybury benefiting
Angler for Relief, Angling for Relief And how do you
say her name?

Speaker 3 (17:54):
Aubrianni's Toy Box, Brianna's Toy Box.

Speaker 1 (17:56):
I think that's a cool story, man.

Speaker 3 (17:58):
Yeah, dude, we'll have to tell you that heart bro.

Speaker 1 (18:00):
Yeah, yeah, I get it. That story, grab my heart. Yeah,
that's let's talk about something else. Phone lines we're open
here one nine six nine nine three five two. So
if people want to donate toys, they where are they going?
How do they do so?

Speaker 5 (18:16):
At this point if you if they can't make it
to the party, they can just drop the toys off
at riveters.

Speaker 1 (18:22):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (18:23):
The way we have the party set up this year,
we actually we went through the city of Tampa and
we're actually adding a twenty by forty ten in front
of riveters.

Speaker 1 (18:30):
OK.

Speaker 5 (18:31):
So as people come into the party, you bring your toys,
then we give you free raffle tickets for bringing your
toys in, and then you have the opportunity to buy
more tickets. And obviously there's the bigger raffle items. Those
are twenty five dollars tickets solo because there's such big items.

Speaker 3 (18:48):
But they'll have both interests open. There's a big.

Speaker 5 (18:52):
Parking lot in the back. The good thing is Angering
Angling for Relief has got a bunch of ambassadors now.
They through the last couple of years of broad on,
so there's gonna be a lot of ambassadors there helping
out people, pointing them in the right direction. Obviously I'll
be on the microphone letting people know where they need
to go. But we're gonna set up all the raffle

(19:12):
items in that tense and when you come in you
can kind of see everything that you could win, and
we're gonna put all the toys there and UH, if
you if you can make it great. If not, just
bring the toys of Riveters and the owner at Riveters
will know what to do with them.

Speaker 2 (19:25):
If someone's out of the area and they wanted to donate,
is there like an online.

Speaker 5 (19:29):
I believe, I want to say, through Angling for Relief,
through their through their website, you can probably donate directly
to them.

Speaker 1 (19:38):
Yeah, I'm sure so, great job. Yeah, it's creb. Yeah,
I mean it's a good kid. We had them on
several times over the years. Good people.

Speaker 3 (19:46):
Yeah, good great family, great, great family.

Speaker 1 (19:49):
Yeah for sure, no doubt. That's super cool.

Speaker 5 (19:51):
Yeah, and it says trolling motor on here. So so
West Coast donated a trolley motor. That's one of the
big raffle items. Then there's a trip to the Keys
of to two or three nights stay with a fishing trip.
And I haven't got the updated list on. We got
a bunch of local restaurants that are putting baskets together.
You know, there's a bunch of stuff, and then we

(20:12):
do I donate a charter for the ugly sweater. So
we let the crowd determine who. You know, A lot
people get pretty creative. Oh yeah, so you know, I
give out a we do a kid's, a kids one,
an adult one, so we donate a charter to both
of those, and a lot of a lot of the
captains in Tampa do step up and donate trips, so

(20:32):
there'll be a ton of ton of donated trips to
one in the Raffle as well.

Speaker 1 (20:37):
Nice. I love it, I love it. I love it.
Flat Mafia Ugly Sweater party again, December thirteenth at Saturday
at Riveter seven pm. Get involved. Did you find the
angling for a leaf? Yeah, so that'll be in the chat.
It'll be on the Real Animals facebook page and the
Hubbards Marina Facebook change page as well, and then I

(20:58):
think the Hubbard YouTube as well. Right, yep, we went
all three spots.

Speaker 3 (21:02):
Ellen's on it, dude, he is, he is on it.
And it took very it was very quickly.

Speaker 2 (21:07):
His setup time to practice next proger.

Speaker 1 (21:10):
Hold on bu. But you didn't think I said all that.

Speaker 3 (21:12):
Up, Mike. I thought you ran this whole operation.

Speaker 1 (21:17):
No, sir, you got Derek Deabo's, we got Dylan Hubbard.
We're good, We're covered. Yeah. If I start pushing buttons,
we won't be on the air again for six months.
This whole studio.

Speaker 2 (21:27):
We're lucky that his cursor never exactly almost got up
to help them.

Speaker 1 (21:34):
Hey, Derek Turnner, Mike's off. They're picking on me. Let's go,
Let's go to the phones. Here, check in with our
good friend down a beautiful Boca Grand Captain Van Hubbard, Van,
how are you this one of my friends.

Speaker 9 (21:46):
I'm just wonderful. I'm just wonderful. And what a wonderful
thing you guys are doing there, helping out the kids,
especially the ones that need it the most.

Speaker 1 (21:55):
And I can't imagine waking up Christmas morning with with
nothing to open it. Unfortunately in this country it happens
too often. Shame on us. So no doubt, no doubt.
How's your bite? How's your bite down there? Well been?

Speaker 9 (22:09):
Every the fishing's okay. Business is slow right now. Everybody's
tied up getting ready for Christmas, which is a great thing.
We're socked in fogg down here this morning, too, so
I'm taking it easy for a little while.

Speaker 1 (22:21):
Yeah, good thought.

Speaker 9 (22:22):
It's starting to be some sheepheads showing up. I haven't
seen any of my golden nuggets recently, but and I'm
hoping to get some mackerel again. But the water is
still fine seventy two, seventy three, seventy four depending on
where you are. But because of that beach renoursement silty
sand stuff, our beach water just hasn't cleared up good yet.

(22:43):
So I don't know if there's any pomping over around
or not. That water's so dirty they can't find my jigs.

Speaker 2 (22:48):
Yeah, we got some spotty reports around our area, but
it hasn't been super crazy good. The trout's been the
big thing lately, and then the sheep's head as well.

Speaker 1 (22:57):
Yeah. Yeah, like I said, I got really good reports
week on the red fish bite. I ended up. I
went and fished Naples, Marco Island Wednesday. Wednesday, I was
down there and it was slow. It was tough. We
had to grind so but I got in the truck
was headed home. Talked to my boys and they did
really well here. That that red faced bike was pretty solid.

(23:19):
So it's good to hear. You know again around the
moon it helps get that big tides moving, pushing some
bait around a lot of that really helps too. So
you know, all good.

Speaker 9 (23:30):
Stuff and on these low tides, if you find them,
you find a bunch of them.

Speaker 1 (23:35):
Yeah, right, right, there's no doubt about it. I think
it's funny. It's interesting too, And the low tide scares
a lot of people, I think, just because it seems
like they can't get to their normal spots. But you
have to try to if you really want to get
consistent on the inshore game here on the west coast
of Florida. Figuring out that low water is really a

(23:55):
key where those fish drop off to where they travel
to on that low water changes your ability to catch
fish on different days throughout the month. Because certain times
a year, like wintertime, we got some days when you go, yeah,
you know, you're not getting anywhere near Tarpa and Key
on certain days unless you plan on hoofing it one
hundred and fifty yards, you know, I mean it gets

(24:17):
bone dry. So that the same thing down at Charlotte
Harbor or up towards clear Water and all that. I
mean just you got to find those troughs, find those
areas of drop offs where those fish stage up for
that time to come back in. Yeah, it really is, Yeah,
great time to explore.

Speaker 9 (24:31):
You want you want to know the secret to finding
those uh those uh handlines, those cuts in there, especially
right there by bunches in tarp and Key.

Speaker 1 (24:40):
I don't think you should. I don't think you should
give those away. Van. Can't you just give years away
down there? Why you got to give them away at.

Speaker 10 (24:46):
Tarp and Key?

Speaker 9 (24:49):
This is this is about that whole flat.

Speaker 1 (24:51):
Okay, okay, talk to me.

Speaker 9 (24:54):
What watch on when you got that dirty gulf water
and you've had that pretty outgoing tide where the as
is all filter the water out, it's all beautiful, clean
and clear. When that turk tide turns back in that
sandy colored water, will walk your mark your places where
your fish are going to be staging and going back in.

Speaker 1 (25:13):
Yeah, that makes sense.

Speaker 9 (25:14):
My dad always my.

Speaker 2 (25:15):
Dad always talked about the dolphins too. It's running the
dolphin boat for so many years. A dolphin draws about
the same as you would draw on your flats boat
or your bay boat.

Speaker 1 (25:24):
Right, So if you.

Speaker 2 (25:25):
See those dolphins chasing those mullet schools in those cuts
and that super low water, you know you're safe. Follow
the dolphins.

Speaker 1 (25:32):
Well, if the dolphins as much as I just hate
the word, it's like a cuss word, and they have well,
but where I was going with that was all of
mother nature. We tend to just be out there looking
for fish. Pay attention to what's going on out there.
The birds will give a lot away. Oh yeah, you know,
if you're looking for bait in the morning. I've talked

(25:53):
to a lot of guys who are like, well, I
was heading for the bridge and I saw the pelicans
driving on the flat, so I slid in over there
through the net twice and I was done. You didn't
even have to make the run all the way to
the bridge. A lot of times they'll give it away
for you. Those birds are going to be where that
bait is. There's just no doubt about it. So and
where the bait is, that's where you're gonna find out
your one. Unfortunately.

Speaker 4 (26:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (26:16):
Yeah, he's not even a charismatic megafauna comrade. He's just bad.
I mean, he's not charismatic at all.

Speaker 2 (26:23):
There's hunting seasons in certain states, and there isn't in Florida.

Speaker 1 (26:26):
Well that's a problem.

Speaker 2 (26:27):
Yeah, there's a lot here too. In Tennessee. Man, it's
like a family fun event.

Speaker 1 (26:31):
Yeah. I get at Wisconsin too.

Speaker 2 (26:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (26:33):
Yeah, they'll kill some lakes out there. They screwed all up.
Cap Van Hubbard, great report, my friend, we appreciate you.

Speaker 9 (26:42):
Work.

Speaker 11 (26:42):
Guys.

Speaker 9 (26:43):
Merry Christmas.

Speaker 3 (26:44):
I know it's early Christmas.

Speaker 1 (26:46):
We'll take it. Merry Christmas to you, my friend. Good
stuff right there, it's.

Speaker 2 (26:50):
Not even early because we were driving around in the
golf cart with the kids last night looking at Christmas
lights and one of the houses had one of those
signs like a countdown to Christmas. It said Christmas is
in nineteen days and I was like, that signs wrong,
And then I started doing the math in my head.
I was like, oh, my goodness, right around the corner,
it's nineteen days away.

Speaker 1 (27:08):
I don't know if it's just me or didn't this
year go.

Speaker 3 (27:12):
By fast, extremely fast?

Speaker 1 (27:14):
It seemed like I understand that episode.

Speaker 5 (27:17):
Does everyone else, Well, they say it goes every year,
it happens faster, and then you have kids and it
happens even faster.

Speaker 1 (27:23):
Right, true, Maybe that's it. I've done had kids and
I got grandkids, so it's really going fast. Oh yeah,
Holy hell.

Speaker 2 (27:32):
On the thread said Capt Mike Boils has brought the
day before and wine coolers not beer? Oh in the
angry orchards.

Speaker 1 (27:42):
Why are you picking? Why are you picking on me?

Speaker 2 (27:44):
You know we did an occ event. We're all sitting
there before the event, about to get up and speak,
and we're all sitting eating all that great food at
occ and the waitress comes around. You guys want anything
to drink? And MIC's like, yeah, I'll take an angry orchard.

Speaker 1 (28:00):
What I'll never forget. He just gets a kick out
of it.

Speaker 5 (28:04):
Yeah, Mike, you were saying about the birds. You know,
your buddy just called in about Boca. I was there recently,
probably about two weeks ago. I go to my normal
bait spots. We just went for the day, so we
left Tampa at four. We get there and I tried
a couple spots, and the baits there, but it's not
coming to the chum. So I got a couple more spots.
I'm looking and then finally I'm looking for the birds

(28:26):
and the birds start diving, diving, But it was it
was a low tide, so we couldn't get too too close.
We started chumming and we got them. But that bite
in Boca Grand late October, and then just this past
two weeks ago, we fished three days and it was
two hundred fish in three days. I mean a beautiful trout,

(28:47):
some nice red fish, some nice snook, but just I
mean their fishery compared to Tampa Bay.

Speaker 1 (28:52):
Is are you finding the grass? I mean, being that
you fished it for so many years and I haven't
been down there in the back recently. I mean it's
been since the spring, you know, So are you finding
the grass starting to come back a little bit?

Speaker 5 (29:05):
I feel like you mean, it's patchy, but like you
you can almost see it, like you could see the
airs regrowing in and you can see the airs that
actually it's coming back solid, but you know it's it's
still took a hit and it's just it's on its
way back. But I mean fishing there. I even talked
to a buddy yesterday. There was a bunch of tarpin

(29:26):
still in the past, like probably three weeks ago. Oh
really Yeah, he was catching sixty seventy pounders and I
think they were using shrimp in the past.

Speaker 3 (29:34):
They were loaded.

Speaker 1 (29:35):
Yeah, bro, we had free jumpers in Marco Island while
we were red fishing, like free jumping tarpin down there still.
I'm like, yeah, not the big ones on though, Yeah,
perfect take those all.

Speaker 2 (29:49):
Bobby somewhere cursing us right now. Yeah, he tarping fishes
almost all year.

Speaker 1 (29:54):
Yeah, I get it. TJ Stewart does the same thing.
TJ catch him right under everybody's noses.

Speaker 3 (29:59):
Yeah, fella always pulls out the big snut.

Speaker 1 (32:25):
Good stuff. Let's go to the phones here Captain Bubba
Vncoort in studio check in with the man himself. Another
visit here on the bartow Ford Reel Animals radio show
from Boca Graham. Captain Bobby Woodard, Bobby, what's up, buddy.

Speaker 12 (32:39):
Hey, good morning fellas.

Speaker 11 (32:41):
How are you off?

Speaker 1 (32:41):
Morning? We're good man, We're good. Hey.

Speaker 12 (32:45):
So I was actually trying to call in earlier, but
I was navigating them all the way down to Avon
Park for a golf tournament today. So navigation system there.

Speaker 1 (32:55):
That sounds awful.

Speaker 12 (32:57):
But uh but I heard uh her Van, you know,
giving a fish report. It's pretty accurate. Obviously it's coming
from Vans, of course it is. But then Babba happened
to spill the beans. Yeah, man, we've had some some
of this big silver fish still.

Speaker 3 (33:10):
Around sorry about that.

Speaker 12 (33:15):
But now it's been a good late season push.

Speaker 10 (33:18):
You know.

Speaker 12 (33:19):
Obviously, you know, post post spawned fish have been up
in the harbor for most of the late summer and
early fall, but then they tend to tend to break
off and head up the rivers and then whatever's left
tends to come back out and hang out in the
pass for a little bit before they decided they want
to go back down south. So the pass fish has
actually been pretty good last.

Speaker 10 (33:37):
Couple of weeks.

Speaker 3 (33:38):
What do you what are you catching them on?

Speaker 11 (33:41):
Shrimp?

Speaker 12 (33:42):
Shrimp's been a big one. Pinfish and then you know,
if you if you want to make a run off
shore and grab some you know, some of the traditional
scroll fish they've you know, been working pretty good as well,
but shrimp and pinfish have been the big two that
have been doing you know, most of the damage.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
Right on drift in the past with shrimp. Yeah, man,
big one, big trip jumbo. Is that the same in
the summer or no, it's just this time crabs in
the summer, crabs in the summertime. The big feed is crab.
The reason the big concentration shows up at the passes
in in May and June, even April, you know, into July.

(34:18):
But those big flush tides that we have in the summer,
they flush them crabs out of there in such force
that they can feed up before they go off short spot.
That's the whole reason for the stage. So this time
of year it's special because of the shrimp.

Speaker 1 (34:33):
Well, it's just what they're feeding on changes. Because you
don't have those, you don't have the big crab flushes
that you have in the summertime. What happens is you
get the big rains. The big rains for some reason
push the crabs in the upper bay and on the
flats to flush really good. I don't know what you
know by now, everybody, I don't know how it all works.

Speaker 2 (34:51):
But my understanding of shrimp is in the summer, those
big shrimp they swim offshore when the water's hot. So
are you catching those tarpain on the incoming tot on
the big shrimp?

Speaker 1 (35:01):
Probably on either.

Speaker 12 (35:04):
They're gonna either way. But but this time of year,
I mean the bigger shrimp. You know, summertime we get
those small you know, the small, little ing shrimp. But
this time of year, you know, you can get some
decent side of shrimp at the tackle shop.

Speaker 2 (35:14):
Yeah, the big ones are coming back into the past.
That's my understanding. So I would say I would think
that would be the incoming.

Speaker 1 (35:20):
And when you get big flushes in this cooler water,
you get those big pores of the big, bigger shrimp,
that's what they're going to key in on.

Speaker 2 (35:26):
Yeah, the prongs.

Speaker 1 (35:27):
Yeah, just like late late summer, late summer, you're you're
they predominantly will feed on threads. Once the crabs slow down.
You got those big schools of threads. You see them
all over the bridges when you drive across the bridges.
They're feeding on those big schools of thread fins.

Speaker 2 (35:41):
That's awesome.

Speaker 1 (35:42):
Yep, we're talking too much.

Speaker 12 (35:50):
I honestly, I just thought it was funny because Van,
you know, Van was talking about bunts of past and
you know, giving some tips for up there and then
and then Bubba. You know, it's like, well, I'm gonna
flip the script.

Speaker 5 (35:58):
Only because I was down there recently.

Speaker 3 (36:02):
I didn't want to do it like that. I just
brought a little content.

Speaker 12 (36:05):
All good, all good, but one more, one more thing
that kind of piqued my interest that you guys talking about,
you know, the low tide stuff this time of year whatnot.
And I remember years ago, I was probably I don't know, twelve,
maybe thirteen years old, I went to a seminar that
Sean Crawford were speaking at and he was talking about,
you know, learning new areas or just getting into fishing

(36:26):
or whatnot, going out on these winter negative lows and
and just not even taking a rod with you, I mean,
just so you're not trying to go catch fish. You're
just trying to learn the area. And you guys are
talking about, you know, looking for wading births and all
that stuff. But Sean was like, dude, just go anchor
the boat, get up on the flat, the dry flat
or mostly dry flat, and just walk it, walk it
and take a notepad, take pictures, whatever you know, whatever

(36:49):
you need to do, make you know notes of you
know where the potholes are, where the troughs are, where
you know, and then you know that way when there
is water there, you obviously know where to go back
and fish. And you know, I was fortunate to hear
that at a at a young age, and I've put
that to use many many times over the years.

Speaker 3 (37:06):
Awesome.

Speaker 1 (37:06):
Yeah, Sean Crawford's a heck of a fisherman out of
that Sarasota area, There's no doubt about it. Good stuff,
Captain Bobby. Let everybody know how they can book a
trip with you and get hooked up with you down there.
Give out your number, yeah, man.

Speaker 12 (37:18):
Eight six three two two four eight or Captain Dashbobby
dot Com.

Speaker 1 (37:23):
I appreciate you coming all the way up here to
help us out of metropolitan ministries too. Bro, you're a
good man. We appreciate your brother.

Speaker 2 (37:29):
Glad your truck survived.

Speaker 1 (37:30):
Great great friend of the show.

Speaker 12 (37:32):
Yeah, I got rear ended when I left there the other.

Speaker 1 (37:37):
I did not hear that. I did tell him good Yeah,
Hi buddy, we'll talk soon. I'm up against you the man.

Speaker 3 (37:44):
Yeah, man, take care, I gotta take care.

Speaker 1 (37:46):
Hi buddy. Good stuff right there. We got to visit
Saint Pete Clearwater safe boating tip. Here on the other side,
Captain Jim Fogel, We've got Captain Bubba Bennecourt Flats and
Mafia in studio talking about the ugly sweater party we
got all on the other side, we'll be back nine
to seventy WFLA welcome back our number two here the

(38:07):
Barto Ford Real Animals Radio Show seven o eight Here
at the iHeartMedia Empire, The Big Man, Captain Bubba Benicord,
Flats Mafia, The Ugly Sweater Party. December thirteenth, It's the
eighth annual. It's going to be at Riveters there on
Dale Maybury benefiting Angling for Relief and h Aubrianna's Toy Box.

will be donated to Saint Joe's Kids Hospital. Got some
big raffle items. Trolling motor. They got a three day
stay in the Keys with a fishing trip. That's kind
of sexy. That'd be good to win.

Speaker 3 (38:44):
Yeah right, Yeah, Unfortunately I can't win that one. I
can't win anything.

Speaker 1 (38:50):
But if you listen, what I would do is get
all dressed up, get all crazy and then win the
trip with Bubba. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (38:57):
I'm telling you.

Speaker 5 (38:57):
There's been some creative ones that the homemade sweaters that
have been pretty.

Speaker 3 (39:01):
They put some time into it.

Speaker 1 (39:03):
Nice. I love it. I love what you guys do there.
It's good stuff. Kind of put some smiles on some kids' faces.
So make sure you guys get involved. I think we

there so you guys can check with Angling for relief
and get some more information. If you can't make it
you just want to donate again, that link is there
for you as well as promised. Let's go to the

(39:25):
phone lines here. Phone lines are open one eight nine,
six nine nine three five too. Let's check in with
the legend himself our visit Saint Pete Clearwater Safe Boating
tip of the week.

Speaker 2 (39:36):
I bet it's gonna be about fogged.

Speaker 1 (39:39):
Captain Jim Fogel. It ought to be. It's a little
thick out there, my friend.

Speaker 10 (39:45):
Oh, it's bad. It's bad here for sure.

Speaker 9 (39:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 10 (39:48):
If you do not have to be on the water today,
for goodness sake, don't go out yep. If you're out
there and you're not an ocean liner, get out of
the channel. The big guys have to stay in the
channel most of the time. You don't have to. But
I wanted to check on one more thing. Is it
Is it true Anderson? You might have heard this that

(40:09):
after he gets his taxi boat and you know he's
got a pirate boat or is it going to be Admiral.

Speaker 1 (40:16):
Dude, listen, it's out of control. It's out of control dude.
We had to grease his ears just to get him
in the studio this morning.

Speaker 10 (40:23):
They own everything, bro, I know, I know, I am
a good serious here, all right. Last last Monday night,
four guys who were reported missing after a fishing drip
and then they were found after about twenty hours in
the water. Evidently they were in a catamaran. Four guys.

(40:49):
Good news is I think they're all out of the
hospital and okay, but they did get some hypothermia. It
just reminds us that we need to check all the
through holes, all the hoses, and for goodness sake, make
sure the bills pumps work. You know, once your boat
gets a certain amount of water in, it ain't no

(41:10):
turning back. And it hits bad ward, it's going to
go over. So the guys are lucky, very very lucky. Also,
I think that you know, if we have the ability
in the space, you want to keep that ditch bag
very handy. I think when the photos I saw at

(41:31):
the four guys, only one maybe two of them had
on life jackets, which is better than none at all,
of course, but you know, you want to you want
to keep those things handy. I mean, I think one
of the the guy that owned the boat, said something
about the boat went down about ten minutes, which I
certainly understand. But that's that's it.

Speaker 1 (41:48):
Guys.

Speaker 10 (41:49):
They just can't float when they get too much water
in them. So we've got to pay attention to that. Now.
Really bad, really bad accident happened last weekend on the
with only calusave Hatchee River near Cape carl Oh.

Speaker 2 (42:02):
Yeah, that was brutal.

Speaker 10 (42:03):
Yeah, four people in an mt I thirty nine cat
and I got two different meetings here. One was four
hundred and fifty two four fifties or two five hundreds
on the back I'm not sure if which. Thank goodness,
one of the boats near them when the boat flipped,

(42:25):
New CPR even though she'd taken it like twenty years
ago or something, I think she shaid. But they were
able to get the guy breathing again, and you know,
he's still in the hospital. He's pretty he's pretty broken up.
But you know, we just got to be careful. We
don't know why that boat did what it did, but

(42:46):
we just got to be careful. We got to be
more careful. We've got to slow down and pay attention.

Speaker 1 (42:52):
It can happen. In the blink of ah. Yeah, there's
no doubt, no doubt.

Speaker 10 (42:55):
Yeah, yeah, there's some times there's no doovers on this stuff. Yeah,
and we just got to be more careful. All right, guys,
Appreciate the show, and you guys keep up the good
work for the coastcar Zoli in Saint Pete. Jim will
be safe.

Speaker 1 (43:09):
Thanks Jimmy good stuff right there, brought to you our
good friends a visit Saint Pete Clearwater. Good stuff as always.
Let's go back to the phones, man. We got legends
just rolling in you bring. We got a legend in
studio with you know, Bubba's here. And then we got
you know, Van Hubbard calling Bobby Woodard now Captain Scott Moore, Scotty,
what's up, brother, buddy.

Speaker 13 (43:30):
I'm sitting here getting ready to go to the cafe
and Cortes and the fog is pretty bad here. They
got a Redfish tournament today, that's right.

Speaker 1 (43:37):
That pro that the go live, the go live, the
power Pool go Live, right, that's presented by Powerpole.

Speaker 10 (43:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 13 (43:45):
Interesting, Yeah, there's there's definitely two things I want to
talk about. The main thing is Rattlesnake point yep. Sold
It's LLC, the buyer, the seller, you know, no disclosure
on it. You know, everybody's I got a lot of

(44:08):
calls on it, of course, and they can't talk. The
owners can't talk. And like I say, the buyers can't talk.
It was bought for eighteen million dollars more than likely.
Everybody just calmed down and we'll see what happens. We
might get lucky that this was bought maybe for mitigation. Uh,

(44:31):
it's very likely. That's what I'm hoping. Anyway, until we
find out, and it could be years. It could be years,
you don't know. So but anyway, it's it's not it
could not. It might not be gloom and doom. Okay,
So we'll just have to wait and see. That's what
I want everybody to know.

Speaker 1 (44:50):
Okay, what else you got? I know you got another one?
You said you got two things?

Speaker 13 (44:54):
Now, the you know fish and Boca Grand all those years,
and there was really good cap and some of the
older captains over the years, and of course Van was
very good.

Speaker 6 (45:04):
In that past.

Speaker 13 (45:07):
When he went down there in the spring. The first
fish that are caught, or caught a lot of them
are caught on shrimp, okay, and and like Dylan knows
they're shrimp recycling, so you're gonna there'll be times. Hey,
those will be times you could leave and go down
that pass and dip your own shrimp, put them on
a hook, catch tarpin, and that went on, went on

(45:31):
usually spring and fall. But here's the most interesting thing.
If you go to Useppa Island and look at some
of the pitchers, they that caught tarpin the Useppa Channel.
It was in January.

Speaker 11 (45:45):
Wow, so there there could.

Speaker 13 (45:47):
Be tarp in year round, which there is some of
the bays. When I was fishing down there, many of
times I'd run across and caught a few fish laid
up January and February around the bay, you know, especially.

Speaker 11 (46:01):
The fly fisherman.

Speaker 1 (46:04):
I was surprised. I mean, here was, you know, early December,
and I was down to Marco Island and we saw
several fish in bays just free jumping tarpain on Wednesday.
I'm like, that's kind of crazy. Yeah, pretty big tarpain
fishery still down there at this time of year.

Speaker 4 (46:22):
Mike.

Speaker 13 (46:23):
There's been more snook on the flat in November and
until now than there was in October.

Speaker 1 (46:29):
Really, okay, or I.

Speaker 13 (46:31):
Like, right, Now, if you're wanting to fish the flat fishing,
there's been snook scattered everywhere and they must have come
out of that golf There's no doubt about it, because
there's fish all the way up.

Speaker 1 (46:41):
To the river, right, I know the river fishing from
what I'm hearing.

Speaker 13 (46:46):
Another thing that's really interesting. A fish tagged at the
Green Bridge was caught on Whitney Beach and it went
to the Green Bridge. Okay, caught on the beach at
Whitney Beach, tagged and it was caught at the Green Bridge.
So that shows you how much this fish moved.

Speaker 1 (47:08):
Yeah, there's no doubt we used to catch We used
to catch some of the tagged redfish during a redfish tournament.
You turn the tag in, you get information later, and
it would be a fish that was tagged in Charlotte
Harbor and caught here, or a fish that was caught here.
It was tagged here and we caught it in Charlotte Harbor.
A redfish. That's some travel. That's some travel, no doubt

(47:30):
about it. Interesting stuff. Good to hear your voice, my friend.

the REASON i got. One i've been here my whole,
life fishing inshore and very very near shore on good
days WHERE i can poke my nose. OUT i got
a flat's boat at twenty one foot sea hunt. Skiff

(50:16):
BUT i went to The everglades about two years, ago,
yep AND i. SAW i saw eleven boats in three,
days and half of them were at the.

Speaker 1 (50:23):
Docks. Yeah we got out.

Speaker 7 (50:24):
There we got out there some spots, where, Man i'm telling,
you nothing, worked and it made me think about. It
WHEN i got back here In seminole about a year,
AGO i went ahead and bought AN. Eperb i'm, like
you know, WHAT i might not need this, thing but
IF i need, It i'm gonna use it for sure cheap.

Speaker 14 (51:03):
Well thank you very. Much the last collar made my first.
Point if those fishermen had had a Y perb they
had been in the water an hour or two instead of.

Speaker 1 (51:11):
Twenty, yeah makes a big, difference. Dude there's no Doubt
we've been preaching it for, years you, Know Jim, fogel
the safe boating tips have been going on a long,
time and the e pervs have been a big. Key you,
know we do The sunday show With mahoney and Then.
Billy you know When billy was doing the show with
us and he was, offshore and you, know we had
just mentioned these e pervs over and over and over.

(51:33):
AGAIN i don't know why anyone would go out there without.
One it makes no sense to.

Speaker 14 (51:37):
ME i sure carry. ONE i had another question About
White bay versus shrimp for trout water temperature right now
at sixty nine. YEP i think the trout at being
different are used to favor favorite. Shrimp now that we're
ended Up.

Speaker 1 (51:54):
December so my, trip the TRIP i had early last
week the red fish bite was pretty good. Good we
had super low water in the. MORNING i KNEW i
was going to be fishing some backcountry stuff in the.
TREES i actually got some shrimp and brought them with.
Me the key for me is and Maybe bubba can
can add on to this as. Well the key for

(52:15):
me IS i started fishing with white. Bait we caught
a few, redfish AND i even mentioned that maybe we'll
go to maybe you, know the bite would be a
little better because they weren't chewing, great but we caught
six of. Them maybe the bit would be better on.
Shrimp and my mate had noticed that we were getting
white baits back with the eyeballs picked out of them
by the. Pinfish if you still have pinfish in the,

(52:37):
area they're probably not on a full crustacean feed, yet
is my.

Speaker 3 (52:42):
Experience at this time of the.

Speaker 5 (52:44):
Year if you can still get the white, BAIT i
WOULD i would go out with the white, bait AND
i would always take shrimp, too because you don't, know
you never, know you never.

Speaker 3 (52:52):
Know you got them. Both you can knock them both out.

Speaker 1 (52:54):
Right but LIKE i, said for, ME i don't normally
flip the switch until those pinfish disappear when that water
temp gets cold enough to put push those pinfish out
to deeper water and get them off the. Flat that's
normally when that that crustacean feed cranks up a little.

Speaker 14 (53:09):
Bit, WELL i understand the shrimp around here a kind of.
Small about three weeks AGO i went out With Captain
Dave pamrallo out Of. Venice uh, huh and she had
she had shrimp like six inches.

Speaker 2 (53:21):
Long, yeah well you were getting bigger now you were
with the.

A Ford Reel animals radio. Show what you got for

Speaker 15 (57:59):
Morning good, morning. Gentlemen i'm heading over to do some wave.
Fishing the water's pretty. Chilly the first week In NOVEMBER
i did a lot of peer, fishing and that first Week,
november you couldn't do any. WRONG i, mean you get
your limit the first hour if you get there in
the morning. Early i'm convinced That god has a sense of.

(58:23):
HUMOR i took a buddy of. MINE i took a
buddy of mine from church that he's a grown, man
but he has never. Fished So i'm trying to teach
him how to use a spinning, reel and we're out
at the end of the pier and he's having a little.
Trouble well two, Hours i'm standing there throwing a silver,
spoon AND i mean. THROWING i don't know how many,

(58:44):
hundreds seemed like two hundred. TIMES i threw that. Spoon,
nothing absolutely. Nothing so if you've been into pier out
there at four, pisoda you know it's got four. Rails
SO i lean my equipment on the railing and the
silver spoon is barely dangly in the. WATER i reach
over to help my buddy get a bird's nest out
of his. Line all of a, sudden my rig tries

(59:06):
to jump over the rail and there's a there's a
twenty one inch mackrel on.

Speaker 10 (59:10):
The end of.

Speaker 1 (59:11):
It.

Speaker 15 (59:12):
WHOA i threw that spoon for two, hours couldn't get.
NOTHING i, said that thing on the rail for a
minute and a, half trying to help my buddy get.
UNTANGLED i, mean what are the. Odds god had to be.

Speaker 1 (59:26):
Laughing you. Know the fish have a little they have
a little. Periscope they put it up and they're, like
he's not paying. Attention, yeah, now, WELL.

Speaker 15 (59:36):
I think all these FISHER i think all these fish
or female fish, too.

Speaker 1 (59:41):
Be, careful be.

Speaker 15 (59:42):
CAREFUL i, KNOW i know my wife's still.

Speaker 2 (59:45):
Asleep So i'm, okay there you, go smart.

Speaker 1 (59:49):
Man tread.

Speaker 2 (59:50):
Lightly he's whispering in the ground with.

Speaker 15 (59:54):
The water beating this chili AND i think it's. Chili.
Uh is there an use to even go waitefishing this
time of year on the flats or what would you?

Speaker 1 (01:00:04):
SUGGEST i think the water temp is? Perfect, yeah, ACTUALLY
i mean this is yeah for actually, everything even the
redfish we caught the other, day and they're super. Active
you stick a red fish in that water temp is seventy,
degrees seventy two, degrees sixty eight. Degrees they got a
lot of, energy but that cool water gives them a
lot of. Spunk there's a lot of oxygen in that.

(01:00:25):
Water they got a ton of. Energy they're super. Active
they'll chase down those. Lures this is probably as good
a time of the year to throw artificials and wadefish
as there is any time of the.

Speaker 15 (01:00:36):
YEAR i, Agree but isn't that water temps are down
to like sixty eight, now.

Speaker 1 (01:00:42):
It's still not too, cold AND i saw some sixty,
eight but it warms, up especially by the time of
the afternoon. Comes you'll be at seventy degrees seventy one
depending on what color your bottom, is and it'll it's pretty.
Active LIKE i, said we had a pretty decent bite last,
week and it had a lot to do with that
water Tamp.

Speaker 15 (01:01:00):
WELL i stood out there yesterday morning around eight, thirty
AND i have never seen so many mullet my. Life
AND i was always taught with, mullet you, know redfish
kind of running with.

Speaker 1 (01:01:10):
Them. Yep AND i.

Speaker 15 (01:01:12):
THREW i threw, JIGS i threw top. WATER i did
everything for two, hours got two, ladyfish AND i was
like really. Frustrated SO i thought MAYBE i would be
wasting my, time or SHOULD i wait till the water
warms up in the.

Speaker 1 (01:01:23):
AFTERNOON i think, YOU i don't think you can get
it wrong at sixty eight, degrees and you just ran
into the one school of mullet out In Tampa bay
that didn't have a redfish in. It, Unfortunately god's laughing
at you.

Speaker 10 (01:01:35):
Again, hey.

Speaker 11 (01:01:37):
We Love, hey we love you.

Speaker 15 (01:01:39):

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
