Speaker 1 (00:12):
Andrew Alderson on New Stork z B joins us this
afternoon on the Mustard and look you head to a
big weekend of sport orders. Good afternoon, Great to catch
up once again.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Great exander, yep, always a pleasure getting over in the
hot seat. Quite as hot as ro Apooner, I suppose
over the course of the ext few days.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
But nonetheless, yeah, it's all go there, especially with topol
being cut back by a day last week with the
weather as we all know about.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
But for christ Church this is a big deal.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
Oh, undoubtedly. And it looks like they rolled this sleeves
up there getting it to get a Mark weater all.
I heard her earlier in the week. The Canterbory Car Club,
I think it is. And you know, the most of
it I had in there in the past is eight
thousand and the guessing you could be upwards of twenty.
So that sounds like an absolutely incredible atmosphere, high octane
and years a proper petrol head action.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
That is Ryan.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
We're doing really well too, And I suppose the profile
of supercars, is it fair to say it's just gaining traction,
especially with these events occurring.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
Yeah, yeah, almost literally, I mean I think that it's
great to have them in New zeal isn't it People
prepared to put their foot forward and then Hostome. It's
just a shame last week with the top or that
they were was canceled and they didn't, I guess get
to compete in the week. You've got to take precautions
image it. But just such a difficult decision to make
with so much money on the line.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
Chris Work got injured this morning.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
This isn't good news as we look ahead to the
your Whites in the Football World Cup in a couple
of months time. Playing for Nottingham Forest. He went down
pretty yearly. It was a red card offence, but this
could have wider ramifications.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
Yeah, let's rite me from Ryan would to the the
positive of that to the negative of Truss would be
he's just come back and think of there's other knee injury.
I think it's a different knee. I'm not absolutely certain
of there now, but the fact is he's gone down
on absolute anguish, clutching his right knee. And yes it's terrifications.
You say World Cup coming up during in July. Is

(02:04):
he's going to be right now? I see the coach
Vitel Ferreira is saying that one of they had three
injuries this morning in the Europa League get quarter fied
there against Porto Nottingham Forest. They have advanced Nottingham Forest,
but it's come at some cost.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
One of the.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
Injuries Colum Hudson the door it's muscular, but he said
the other two weren't, so perhaps it's bruising. You just
hope that it's not Chris Wood out of that World Cup.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
It's for sure this World Cup as a still can
and dry that everything goes ahead. Was that given Iran's
in the World All Whites group, I mean, it's almost
a case of the unknown.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
Still I suppose it is.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
I think, well, Iraq will qualify when I think if
Iran don't. But just in hearing early this week Sianni
and Tino fief for President saying that he still expects
Iran to be there, not that they'd want to be
heading to the enemy of the United States. I want
to thought w the will be concerned about their security, etc.
I mean, they had to put in place incredible I

(03:01):
guess efforts to make sure that that is the case.
But at this stage, at least they're still there, So
I guess ZeLing must just have to plan accordingly, but
be agile about it just in case things change and
they do end up going to Mexico or something like that.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
Now the creckit side of life, you reckon how many
kiwis are over the subcontinent of the moment.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
There's a heap of them.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
This is a staggering number. Rob Wilder hearing them earlier
in the week coach the Batcaps just outlining there are
I mean, there's a great quiz question fifty four apparently
andy at the moment. So that includes the plaza in
Bangladesh for the actual Internationals, which is part of the
future tourist program, and then you've got another tour group

(03:46):
in Sri Lanka as part of an a team playing
first class and one day is and then you've got
the what's effectively the top echelon now even above the Internationals.
That makes sense of players in the Pakistan Super League
and also the indre so analyzed together and apparently it
comes to fifty four. So that's I mean, at least

(04:07):
we can't argue now that New Zealand's not getting enough
experience in the subcontinent.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
Is this all down to the money that comes out
of the subcontinent of such orders or Kiwi's needing experience
in those conditions for future tours.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
Yeah, I think part of it's the money. I mean,
if you think about saying the Premier League in Pakistan
Super League and then that's all private essentially, but then
you've got the situation. I think there's just the New
Zealand board investing in the A players in Sri Lanka
with the money they get for arguments take from world
events like T twenty World Cup and One Day World

(04:40):
Cup and all that that they can put it that
towards the development of players and then just the usual
status close stuff as the future tourist progress. There's just
New Zealand going on international tour.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
From a key we perspective over in the IPL at
the moment, from a Southern perspective certainly, and to Targer
Jacob Duffy doing pretty good things of Royal Challenges Beingalore
when it gets the opportunity with Josh Hazel coming back
into the fold the IPL, though, is this.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
Just continuing to gain momentum.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
In a competition sense or is this just a case
of India flexing its muscles as you look to other
Tea twenty comps around the world.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
Oh look, I mean maybe I'm bist it's on here
in the morning when I come in z B. But
the razzle, dawnsle of it is phenomenal. You cannot deny
the power of the product of one of been working
in the grounds are always full andy. It just looks
I mean, if I was going to India any stage,
I'd make sure I was going there. We'll try at

(05:35):
least to get there in April and May, because the
atmosphere just looks tremendous. I mean I've always said you,
I mean, when I've been in Indian crowds in the
past covering tours, it's just they don't need alcohol or
anything like that. It's just purely they get intoxicated by
the cricket. It's so good to just see down in
action and how passionate about the game Indian fans and

(05:56):
Pakistani fans for that matter. But yeah, that's that's where
it's at these days. And then you know it's a
real clearly still a huge money spinner and and with
the with the value of these franchises, I think, and
great to see Jacob Duffy is that just waving the
flag pretty much? But both in New Zealand and Southland.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
Now we look ahead to the black Caps playing in
England too. I mean this is only not even a
couple of months away now.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
Yes, so starting what I think June fourth is the
first Test at Lord's and yeah, that'll be. I mean
that it's just brilliant, isn't it when you see and
you look at the venues they've got. They've got lords
they've got the Oval, they've got Trent Bridge. It's three
of the classics. Uh. And New Zealand's going to be engaged.
I think they've got a Test against Ireland first, just
out of Double probably Malla Hyde and then ye're on

(06:44):
to that that big tour and great to hear that
came Williams is going to be part of it, possibly
the last England Test tour. You would suspect what age
coming up to thirty six this year, came Williamson, So yeah,
it'll be. It'll be a special time. I suspect that
tour and be interesting just from the opposite perspective too
as to how McCullum and Stokes go on that tour

(07:05):
aady with I guess It's been so much talk about
whether they retain their jobs after a woful ashes, but
they have for now and it looks like they've got
to really re establish themselves and I guess rebuild where
their relationships at. I mean, it sounds like it might
have been overplayed as how much of a feud or
anything like that's going on. It doesn't sound like that's
the case at all. But they have disagreed on a

(07:26):
few bits and pieces in their approach to the ashes
and now they can get back or even keel.

Speaker 3 (07:33):
Yeah. Super Rugby Orders would touch on this briefly.

Speaker 1 (07:36):
We get this fantastic stadium in christ Church getting broken
in next week for one of another term as they
host super Round there. But this story regaining the horses
not being allowed into one in z Stadium.

Speaker 3 (07:47):
Do you think there's much in this or is more
of a cannibury problem.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
Well, yeah, it's I can see their point about not
being in there. I was thinking it's probably a smaller
venue by the sounds of it today Lancaster Park which
was a cricket ground, so he had the extra space
there on the sides, and equally Addington and the successive
venue that they had for years there, Blos, earthquake, et cetera.

(08:15):
There's more more room as well. I do wonder about
the h I think it's probably legitimate. I know they're
saying that they should be there, perhaps as it's part
of part and parcel of the whole team ethos. But
it might be one thing they have to forego for
having this amazing facility that they have built there. And
I think that we talk about the cricket in India,

(08:36):
I think people can be intoxicated by the rugby. Perhaps
you know that you won't need too much razzle dazz
will beyond that. I mean that that venue. From what
I've seen, at least when I've been to christ Each recently,
it looks amazing. You know it's going to be indoors,
it's going to be just it's so close to town. I
can't help but think of the the atmosphere on a

(08:56):
match day in Canterby and christ each these day it's
the super will just only be enhanced.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
Just finally, how's things going on the South Aukland farm?

Speaker 4 (09:06):
Yeah, pretty good, growth screen good, We've got leaveing animals
out in the panix and I think this is awdison
is able to tell you more than I would the
angus freeze and cross Who've got to leave them in
there and they are growing enormous.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
They just just filling their bellies every day. So we're
very lucky in that respect that the hazing is she'd
dry now we haven't.

Speaker 4 (09:24):
It to use any yet.

Speaker 2 (09:25):
We're trying to sell a bit, telling a bit of
firewood their end as well, just keeping the various income
streams going because almost split of there last weekend. And yeah,
it's so efficient to be able to get that done
and throw it on the shed and we know that
will be nice and warm over the course of the winter.
You can't have so much more than that.

Speaker 3 (09:40):
How much wo would you go through in a year? Though?
Would it be that bad? Would it?

Speaker 4 (09:44):
No?

Speaker 2 (09:44):
It would be nothing right what you guys would go
through with it. We're pretty light on the old wood front.
But yeah, it's more just that having the fire. Maybe
I know, scorns for lunch or something like that.

Speaker 4 (09:56):
That's what you want.

Speaker 3 (09:56):
Get on your orders. Always appreciate your time, you enjoy
your weekend.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
Lovely you two.

Speaker 3 (10:00):
C D.
