It now this time of year, moving day just around
the corner.

Plenty going on in the dairy space as well.

Yeah yeah, yeah, well like we should, like you say,
at the end of the season is here, yeah, and
moving day for a lot of dairy farmers as well underway,
so you should be all hands on deck around south
and at the moment, yeah, getting everything.

Packed up and shipped off to its new destination.

It's one of those times where, yeah, it's good to
really good to have some planning, planning in place that
it really pays off on it. We've actually put on
a durian Z website. It's just on the main page
when you bring it up, so it's nice and easy
to see. Just some key things for people just to

make sure that they cover at this time of the
year and they're calling them Winter Smart and there's about
five main things that they are highlighting on there. One
of them been just around your moving day and biosecurity,
So just yeah, protecting your herd and your team. Yeah,

just making sure that you've got to bio security plan
in place for your stock movement. Yeah, make sure that
you've got all your late records up to date you're
updading them as your cows and moving on saves a
big job later and saves any surprises as well. And
just checking any pre movement testing, like if you need

TBBBD or your own st just make sure that you
got all that covered. Yeah, just yup for a smooth
start for the next season. There's also stuff on the
around your cow care for over winter time, like yeah,
winter can be tough on the cows, so like.

Yeah, making sure that you're keeping.
Speaker 4 (02:23):
Them as comfortable as possible is really really really important,
you know, muddy pad acts. That just equals stress on
both on the farmer and the cow, and it's can
quite often flow into production loss in the long term
as well. So yeah, just having a plan in place,

which most people really got at doing anyway, but just
gave you stand off areas ready, you know, because we
do live in Southend and it can turn in the
blink of an eye quite nasty. So and not everyone
has a big fancy.

Barn, so yeah, just make sure that you've got you've got.

Everything in place ready for that changes on the way.
There's stuff on the air for transitioning the cows as well,
so just management around that. And it also covers like
just things around identifying your lighter cows early and just
making sure that you're feeding them accordingly. Yeah, obviously you're

under condition girls, there's sort of a more susceptible to
your diseases and metabolic issues, so yeah, just make sure
that you're looking after them. Not all cows need the
same treatments. There's also stuff around spanning decisions, so yeah,
just making really smart decisions around supplement use that when

you're getting closer to carving time. Yes, being really smart
around that can left your body conditions, score at carving
and all the things that's around thinking bit more beyond price,
look at actually what you're feeding them. Not always the
cheapest option is best. And there's lastly stuff on the

air around team press. So just yeah, making sure that
you're looking after your teams.

Yeah, wintering at winter and carving.

Times or high pressure time.

works for your system before carving, before you get really

on also, yeah, make sure that you've got some practical
training in place to look after them and get them
all set up for your system. Yeah, just overall, Yeah,
it just all comes back.

We've got a Sustainable Dairy Growth Day at John and
Bridget Pembleton's farm and it's in the Brighton area. So
that'll be a really cool day because they're actually converting
their neighboring organic sheep or our neighboring organic sheep farm.
They expand their existing platforms, so yeah, it'll be cool

to hear their journey on what's been involved in that
process and how they're getting on with that. There's also
some Carving Smart workshops coming up. They're running in June
as well, run by the Dairy Training Limited, So.

There's one in Amrou one and White Hole and there's
also one and Gore. So all the dates and information
you need to know about theirse're just yeah on the
Dairy in the website and if you just go under

that's on Tuesday, the thirtieth of June and that's it
the I Scott Hotel, So yeah, they're going to have
some really high quality speakers there and some respected farmers
