Speaker 1 (00:02):
House. Is it very very very fine house. This is
the muster of the song. Is our house our next.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
Gurse is hoping to be saying our plow and trector
as well, but that's not the case. Mark Dylan, Riversdale
plowman hoping to go to the World Champs this year
over in Croatia. It has been well documented, especially in
the media over the past couple of weeks, that shipping
lines haven't gone to plan and Mark joins us this
afternoon to give an update and where things are at.

(00:32):
Bob good, afternoon, Yeah, pretty good. Firstly, how are you going?
Where are you at?

Speaker 3 (00:38):
You have been a challenging couple of weeks and then
we've just just been killing the ship company. This morning
we pulled the pun. We're not going to see the gear.
There's too many risks everything. We'd have to go to
plan for it to get there. Only just the day
before the practice of the official competition, and we think
it's too taught and too risky, but don't want to
spend the money and it go around the other side
of the world and not even get out of the container.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
So you made the call this morning just to can it.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
Yeah, we talked to the shipping company. We'd made him
mind up a couple of days ago in the day
of them with Malcolm, the other playman from the North Holland,
and yeah, we both agree it's the right thing to do.
It's too risky and every day the risk it's higher
and horror So we're lucky to be a lot of
other playermen that we know from around the world have
riched out and offered a skier. So I've got key
organized from myself and then we're just working through the
final bits to get gear organized from Malcolm over there

(01:21):
as well.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
Yeah, we're talking about that shortly.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
But a spies from your perspective, the last couple of
weeks must have been highly stressful.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
Oh, it hasn't been cooked year. There's enough going on
without him to deal with. And Sony and I've learned
a lot of bit shipping Jagon and meet a lot
of people, and we've had a lot of people from
are around the world reach out wanting to help them
see if anything they can do. But it's just because
we're such a small nation at the bottom of the world.
There's a limited amout of ships that leave New Zealand,
and it's just in the time, we just hadn't work out.
But the shipping company had hid some keey combs with

(01:49):
us a month ago when it was still sitting in Sydney.
We probably could have done something about it. But the
communication lee pass Befou.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
Does a hummer straight come into this situation at all?

Speaker 3 (01:57):
Bob, Well, it was going to get through Penama. So
I'm not sure which you did or not.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
It just seems to be the buzzwords you hear all
the time, and just straight away. The fault setting is
to think of a situation with the Middle East.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
But look from your guy's.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
Point of view going over there, and you're not using
your own gear. I mean you're on the back foot
before you start effectively.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
Well, it's going to create another challenge. It's just a
lot of farming at the moment. Every day is another challenge.
I'll just have to figure out a mass and step
up to the cage.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
But the fact that so many people have reached out,
like you say, the plowing community over in Europe, You've
made a lot of connections and this is where things
have actually come up.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
Smelling of roses to a degree, yeah, really good.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
They did a lot of guys reaching out. I've been
talking a good friend in the States and people have
talked them a couple of times a week, and then
hit some other guys from Whale Wales. We'll meet last
year and they were real good buggers and they have
offered media tractor and play and it helps us rot
kellers or they've been off of a zeter. But they're
not going to have to wiel a bit weird bell
a glove for a week. And I wasn't looking forward
to that.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
What's wrong with this?

Speaker 2 (02:59):
You know?

Speaker 3 (03:00):
What does I run?

Speaker 2 (03:01):
Actually that's abod. A computer system is in front of
me here, so yeah, who owns these? I'm sure they'll
find bits of machinery, but everybody puts their colors to
the mast on the on the from where you go,
I suppose yeah, this is.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
Right, So you know, I'm lucky that just working out
that these guys run me. So it's going to be
at least it's slightly more familiar with the trader and
it's covering one player and it's got it'll be different
in mine, but I'll be a couple of each week
or an extra week practicing before the official stuff. I
should be well under control.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
Weekly, has anybody house hit this issue and he has
gone by?

Speaker 3 (03:36):
Are the goals? I've had issues with shipping and stuff,
but they seem to have always come through. But yeah,
we're just so far away and it's going to be
too much risk, we thought, so that's worth We're better
to pulled up in early and save yourselves a few
bucks and then we can put it the woods and
some of these guys overseas that if.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
Busy, right, So I suppose you're hitting you over the
very short of yourself and your wife Sonya, how does
your mind shift?

Speaker 1 (03:57):
What's your mindset? Well, how does it change?

Speaker 2 (03:59):
No, you're having to look at tactics from a different viewpoint, given.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
You're going to have to use different machinery. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
Probably once I get on the plane and get away,
I'll start thinking more about that. The most has been
the last was the last couple of weeks have been
we're trying to pull out all the stops and not
lead the stone Unturna. Theres any other opportunities, but yeah,
we've only just pulled to the shipping company and still
sort of sinking in that we're not going to argue you.
It's going to be frustrating. But yeah, we can ran
and rave and do a lot of shit, but it's

(04:28):
not going to achieve anything. So we've just got to
move on to the next stage now and do the
best of what we've avoided.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
Well, the fact that you go over there and actually
get the big, big accolade this time, I mean, this
just make the story better.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
This is like a Netflix as a scenario.

Speaker 3 (04:41):
Is it not? That would be something that Yeah, it
would become pretty cool if we can do well every
year we're learning. So hopefully the skier is as good
as I hope it's going to be, and we'll can
thurther up to the placing list.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
But the big key is, like you say, Mark, is
that the plowing community around the world has actually reached
out to you guys.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
Oh definitely, it's been awesome amount of people who have
been in touch and even local playermen and in friends
and family across in his yeland. It reached out. So
it's been Yeah, it's helped part of the get through
the challenge. Yeah, but then also goinging a heap like
these guys look after me in twenty nine, we'll hopefully
can repay the faver if they are lucky enough to
represent the country.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
And his young Well, that's the thing.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
It's not that far away when you think about what
three years, not even there three years.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
Yeah, here's something like that. So that's helping up. But
it's it's just a great deal. What's the part of
the reason why I love the plans. You've met up
with a great bunch of lot more of people from
all around the world.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
Right, Oh, Bob safe travels over to the other side
of the world for yourself and son. You We're going
to catch up with you as well on a regular basis.
You can fill us in on your journey. Sorry to
hear that you're not going to have your tractor and
play over there, but great to hear the player and
communities got together and you are going to be competing
for New Zealand and have the silver frown on your
chest after all.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
So all the best and will catch up.

Speaker 3 (05:56):
Yeah, awesome.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
Dylan, he's heading over to Croatia and he's going to
be gear. It's not what he wanted, but like Mark said,
he doesn't want to wear a bell claver. We'll leave
that discussion for another day. Ridy Kennedy's up next to
wrap up
