Weirdly were though, it would be amazing if we all
went together. I mean we did one we did that
was fun. Yeah, it was a good time. We needed
more time though.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
That was the first time to face Karina of Alaskas.
Speaker 4 (00:26):
No, definitely, I know good times.
Speaker 5 (00:31):
Let me just say, as we start episode number one
hundred and thirteen, nope, Talk with Martha Quinn.
Speaker 6 (00:37):
That's not that's not no, it's not want to make
a bet. I want to make a bet too, Okay.
Speaker 3 (00:44):
What's the bet?
Speaker 1 (00:44):
What's the bet?
Speaker 2 (00:45):
I better not because I saw Karina shaking her head.
What is it? Twelve?
Speaker 6 (00:52):
It's two hundred and twelve actually now and.
Speaker 4 (00:55):
Thirteen, you guys, Okay, nobody wins that back because y'all
we're both wrong.
Speaker 3 (01:00):
It's two hundred and thirteen.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
There we go, those last one hundred just my memory.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
That's okay.
Speaker 5 (01:07):
As you're listening to episode number two hundred and thirteen
of Talk Talk with Martha Quinn, remember if you're listening

that's right there on your screen, and you can leave
us a comment about anything we're talking about in the
in the podcast, and then we can air it in
the next episode. So keep that in mind as you're listening.
(01:30):
And if you're listening some other way like on Alexa
or something, you can also just you know, grab your phone,
find us on the app, and tap that talkback microphone
and you know, chime in, because it's always fun.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
To hear from you.
Speaker 5 (01:41):
So while we thought we would talk about in honor
of our iHeartRadio Music Festival happening September twentieth and twenty
first at the T Mobile Arena in Las.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
Vegas, is how fun Las Vegas is?
Speaker 1 (01:53):
Oh, it is a lot of fun.
Speaker 6 (01:55):
When people say I've never been to Las Vegas, I'm
always like, what, you've never been in Las Vegas?
Speaker 1 (01:59):
You got to go to Vegas. It's amazing, you know.
Speaker 5 (02:01):
I think that for people who haven't gone to Las Vegas,
what is it?
Speaker 2 (02:06):
What is it about it?
Speaker 6 (02:07):
Like?
Speaker 2 (02:07):
I feel like it has.
Speaker 5 (02:09):
Maybe kind of a CD reputation, but it's not at all.
It's super fun and it's popping and you know, you
go to what's that the Venetian and you can go
on those like little fo gondolas. Like to me, I
feel like I've been to Venice. It's beautiful, it's family friendly.
There's so much to do. It's really fun. It's almost
(02:32):
like Disney World in real life, but it really exists.
It's like in real life.
Speaker 4 (02:38):
Yeah, and even though there's a bunch of casinos, you
don't have to be an adult to go. Like I
remember being a kid going to Vegas and going to
the eminem World.
Speaker 3 (02:47):
Do you remember the eminem World. It's still there.
Speaker 4 (02:49):
Oh, really, you have the eminem World and then going
to see the animals at the Mirage. But Vegas there's
just so much entertainment and then a lot of casinos
put a lot of work into their hotels to make
it just look so extravagant.
Speaker 3 (03:03):
It's gorgeous. And Martha Quinn, you got married in Vegas.
Speaker 5 (03:06):
I got married in Vegas. Coming up, the Eagles are
starting their whole run in Vegas. Jana Jackson just announced
her residency in Vegas. Nate Bargatsi, the very funny comedian,
is coming up in Vegas. I got married in Las Vegas.
How about you, Karina of Alaskaz, What is the most
fun you've ever had in Las Vegas?
Speaker 4 (03:26):
So way back in the day, I just remember MGM
used to have an amusement park, but my parents would
drop us off there and we would spend the entire
day there, me and my sisters, and they would just
give us money, and then they would come back and
check on us and just give us more money. So
we would go on all the rides and eat whatever
we wanted to and then just go back to the
(03:46):
room and you know, have a slumber party with our cousins.
And that's what I remember the most. But also the
Beatles Love Show that I saw there was incredible. Was
that Circola disle Yes? How do you say it?
Speaker 1 (03:59):
Cirk dis Yeah, thank you Christy.
Speaker 4 (04:01):
But the shows there are just just something that you
don't see anywhere else.
Speaker 5 (04:06):
That Beatles Show Love, you know, it was there forever,
and every single time I went to Las Vegas, I
was like, ah, I'm kind of tired. I don't feel
like seeing it. We'll see it next time, and then
of course it's closed.
Speaker 4 (04:19):
I also want to add one more thing about Vegas.
One thing I remember is when you go to Vegas
with Christy.
Speaker 5 (04:25):
Please please listen because me and Christie a long time
ago into Vegas for I don't know what it was.
Speaker 1 (04:32):
I think it was her birthday.
Speaker 3 (04:33):
It does either way.
Speaker 4 (04:34):
When you go with Christy, you're going to get in
to every single place you're going to get into. There's
no waiting in line with Christy, and I love that
because I'm kind of shy sometimes I can't like cut
in the line.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
I follow the rules.
Speaker 4 (04:46):
But we went to Vegas one time and we were
going to go into this club and I kid you not,
Martha that this line was wrapped around the building and
here comes Christy.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
Nope, we're not going to wait in line.
Speaker 4 (04:56):
We're just gonna walk up to the front and tell
them that we, you know, want to get in. And
sure enough, we skipped. I don't know how many people
were in this line for the club. Christy got us in.
We walked through security, We're like, we got wristbands, and
Christy just walked us right in. I said, oh my gosh,
I don't know what it is. But Christy, do you
(05:16):
remember that?
Speaker 1 (05:17):
I do remember. I remember you yelling for me in
the bathroom crack yet ye it I'm ready to go at.
Speaker 3 (05:23):
The end of the night, kid.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
But it was fun.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
In the bathroom, I.
Speaker 4 (05:26):
Was like, there's gonna be a lot of people named Christy.
And for those that don't know Martha, you know, the
nickname that I have for her is Cricket or crick
and so in the bathroom, I was.
Speaker 3 (05:35):
Like, crick because this is a massive bathroom. Where are
you Grick And She's like, I'm here, give me a minute.
Speaker 4 (05:41):
But going to Vegas with Christy, that's memorable. I remember
that time.
Speaker 3 (05:45):
You didn't sleep well, Christy.
Speaker 5 (05:48):
Last time I saw you in Vegas. It was the
craziest thing because in addition to me getting married in Vegas,
my daughter got married. Oh Vegas, you guys knew about it.
So we're at the breakfast after Christy had texted me
for some reason just like oh, you know, hey, how
is the wedding? And I was like, oh, it's beautiful.
(06:08):
You know, we're having breakfast now. And next thing I know,
you know, I was sitting at a table there was like,
I don't know, eight of us, and I wasn't facing
the door, but I'm looking at the people across from me,
and one of those people was my husband, and I'm
just looking, you know, we're chatting, and I see him
look up in a way that's like, oh, I recognize
(06:30):
the person that's walking towards me. And I turn to
look and it's Christie. I was like buoying my head loading.
It was the craziest thing. But Christy was there not
just to surprise us at the wedding, but because there
was a I want to say, I want to say
(06:50):
forty nine ers game in the game that you would
be at. So I was almost going to say Raiders.
I was almost going to say it, but I knew,
I knew not to say that. But she didn't have
She didn't have tickets, as I recall, Yeah, no, so
tell me what happened.
Speaker 6 (07:06):
I ended up not getting tickets. I was going to
but then I waited and I just hung out with
my god daughters who live in Vegas and one of
my best friends Mo. So that's what I ended up doing.
But mostly I was super excited to surprise you guys,
because I love a good surprise.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
I love.
Speaker 1 (07:25):
Real love it.
Speaker 2 (07:26):
It was the absolute best.
Speaker 4 (07:29):
Martha. Did Annabelle get married in Vegas because you did?
Or it was just something she wanted to do.
Speaker 5 (07:34):
I think it was a mixture of both. I think
that they got married at the courthouse in Vegas like
we did, as a sweet gesture to Jordan and I.
I do think that that was a big part of it.
And you know, I had just started chemotherapy, so it
was a very emotional time. So I think that played
(07:57):
a part in it as well.
Speaker 4 (07:59):
And if I remember correctly, Martha, didn't you wear jeans
or Levine's.
Speaker 5 (08:03):
Oh yeah, okay, so I love it. Okay, Well, first
of all, it was the second time. You know, we
had left our house to go get married previously, like
I don't know, a couple months before, but we left
our house in Los Angeles, like I don't know, let's
say four thirty in the afternoon.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
I'm making it up.
Speaker 5 (08:19):
We get to about Pasadena and my husband, Jordan, he
does not like traffic.
Speaker 1 (08:23):
He freaks out about traffic.
Speaker 6 (08:24):
Me.
Speaker 1 (08:24):
I don't care.
Speaker 5 (08:25):
I sit there, I can have fun wherever. He's like, Oh,
traffic is going to be so bad.
Speaker 2 (08:31):
I can't do this. I want to drive around, go
home and go back another day.
Speaker 5 (08:35):
I freaked the three house, like I didn't take things
well back then. I was like curling myself around the car.
Speaker 6 (08:46):
Oh could you?
Speaker 3 (08:47):
Oh good, you got cold feet? You got cold feet?
You don't want to marry me.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
So sudden drama you can't imagine.
Speaker 5 (08:57):
So then another time we were camping, you know, started
and ended in Vegas. We were leaving and I said,
let's get married now we can have our camping trip
as our honeymoon.
Speaker 2 (09:06):
No, we have to go get the radio fixed.
Speaker 5 (09:09):
So we're sitting in some parking lot, you know, some
mechanics getting the radio fixed. And then on the way back,
he said, well, let's get married now, and I'm like no,
because it doesn't make sense because before we could have
had this as our honeymoon.
Speaker 2 (09:23):
Well, now, what's the point.
Speaker 5 (09:25):
So finally, the morning of December sixth we woke up
and we go, okay, let's go today, and we called
a friend of ours. We said we're going to Vegas
to get married. He goes, you guys are never going
to get married. You're never going to do it. I've
heard this story a million times.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
And I said, no, we're doing it. We're actually doing it.
And we did.
Speaker 5 (09:42):
We got married, And that was thirty two years ago.
This December, what was Jordan wearing jeans and jean jacket.
I brought a little dress, but actually.
Speaker 2 (09:52):
It was really cold.
Speaker 5 (09:54):
You know, I was wearing a black turtleneck from the
gap and I'm so mad I didn't save that. Like,
what was I thinking? I don't have those jeans anymore.
I don't have that turtleneck. We do still have the
jean jacket that he was. Ah, that's cute, that's Sam.
Speaker 4 (10:08):
And how long before Martha you and Jordan got married.
How long were you guys together before you got married.
Speaker 5 (10:13):
Let's see, we met, you had him been married forever now,
I know, I know, I was just saying Tim the
other day that I feel like I've been saying thirty
two years now for like two years. But let's see,
we met in nineteen eighty five, got married in nineteen
ninety two, so that was, you know, quite a bit
of time. But when we first met, I was living
in New York. And then you know, we had a
(10:34):
couple of times where we did the old you know, breakup,
get back together a type of thing, kind of like
Katie Perry and Orlando Bloom.
Speaker 2 (10:42):
And anyway, that's it.
Speaker 5 (10:45):
That's it, So Christy, the most fun you ever had
in Vegas was.
Speaker 6 (10:50):
You know we were going to meet a celebrity. I
won't say who the celebrity was at the time, but
we interviewed them when I was on the radio with
my friend JV at the time rest in peace to
JV and I said, Hey, you're doing a big thing
in Vegas. If I come to Vegas, can I come
(11:12):
to your big party? He was like, yeah, yeah, sure, sure,
I'll let you in.
Speaker 3 (11:15):
This is you talking to the celebrities.
Speaker 6 (11:17):
Me talking to the celebrity, okay, And and I was
like okay, and JV's like, yeah right, You're like never
going to get in. You're never going to get in.
He's never going to remember you. I'm like, oh, I
will get in. And I went. We road tripped it
out there with like five or six of my friends
and we got a place and we went to the
party the night of the party and he JV was like,
(11:40):
I just need a You need to take a selfie.
And that was kind of like the bet. Okay, Yeah, sure,
get a selfie if you can, because he's not going
to let you in with the celebrity. The celebrity and prince.
We went to the party, my friends and I and
I'm like Okay, there he is. He came in and
I snuck into the VIP because I had tried to
hit him up and he wasn't replying like Jad said.
(12:02):
But I was like, oh no, I'll get in, don't
worry about it. And sure enough I got in. I
like crept in all the way, got all the way
up to him, and as soon as I got up
to him, the biggest earliest security guard in the whole
entire worlds snatched me up, like snatched me up and
was like and I was like, wait no, he said
(12:23):
I could come, and he turned and he saw me.
He was like, oh no, no, no, it's cool. It's cool
because when he saw me then he remembered me. He
wasn't trying to help me get in before that, and
his security guard props to his security guard for being
on point.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
Was like, get her, who is this? Why she you know?
Speaker 6 (12:41):
Yeah, and he saw me and I took my selfie
and all my friends were.
Speaker 3 (12:45):
Like, damn, that was crazy.
Speaker 6 (12:48):
Crazy I saw and I said, I told you we
would do it. And then the rest of the weekend
we had like an amazing time. But I had some
great times in Vegas.
Speaker 1 (12:55):
It really is. There's something there for everyone.
Speaker 3 (12:57):
Yeah, definitely.
Speaker 2 (12:59):
Do you still have that selfie?
Speaker 1 (13:01):
I don't think so. I don't think so.
Speaker 3 (13:03):
Was it Michael Jackson?
Speaker 2 (13:04):
No, give us a hint.
Speaker 1 (13:08):
No music celebrity, music celebrity. Oh Mike Tyson, No.
Speaker 3 (13:18):
Hangover here? What yere?
Speaker 1 (13:21):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (13:22):
What year? I think this is like two thousand and four,
two thousand and five maybe.
Speaker 1 (13:27):
Yeah, no, like so boy after like that?
Speaker 3 (13:31):
Okay boy?
Speaker 1 (13:35):
Yeah, but really there's lots of fun.
Speaker 6 (13:37):
And you know, they always say what happens in Vegas
stays in Vegas because there are so many random stories
and situations that happen when you go to Las Vegas,
unless it's STDs that bring down the moon, that coming
that comes with you wherever outside of Vegas and whatever.
Speaker 4 (14:00):
My aunt's actually going to Vegas soon, so I'm excited
for her. She's taking her new husband for his first time.
Speaker 6 (14:06):
I was like, oh, it's fun to go with someone
who's never been because it's always had a good time.
Speaker 3 (14:10):
It's a great time.
Speaker 1 (14:11):
A lot of walking, a lot of walking. I would
never go again for New Year's Eve, that's for dad gone. Sure, never,
But you know, if you're into.
Speaker 2 (14:19):
Crowds, just completely packed and.
Speaker 1 (14:22):
Not even fun.
Speaker 6 (14:23):
I couldn't even imagine a more busy place except maybe
Times Square, and even then I really couldn't even imagine
doing that. But yeah, no, I would never do New
Year's Even Vegas again ever.
Speaker 4 (14:36):
But if you want to go to the music festival, yes,
we've been before and that was a great thing.
Speaker 1 (14:40):
That was a good time. Yeah, it is a lot
of fun.
Speaker 5 (14:43):
What's great about music festivals is it's a whole bunch
of big names. They get out, they do their hits,
they wow the crowd, and then they get off and
then room for somebody else. There's no as David Lee
Ross says, there's no hot dog time. There's no you know,
twenty minute based solos, nothing like that. It's just boom
(15:06):
boom boom, one after the next.
Speaker 2 (15:08):
It's so fun.
Speaker 1 (15:10):
Yep, with the hits, let's go and then let's go,
let's go.
Speaker 3 (15:15):
Time.
Speaker 5 (15:16):
We don't have time for your philosophical songs. We just
need the crowd pleasers. And then you move on, so
you really get, you know, bang for your buck and
tickets for our festival or at AXS dot com it's
our iHeartRadio Music Festival. You always have fun in Vegas.
If you've never gone give it a try. There's so
much to do. You know, the festival is at night,
(15:38):
but there's so much to do. I really think it's
one of the most fun places there is. I mean,
it was chosen by wallet Hub as the most fun
city in America, and there is a reason. It's like
just you know, fun, fun, fun, And you know what
I think would be super cool. What is it called
the Formula One?
Speaker 2 (15:58):
They have a Formula one track now, they do.
Speaker 5 (16:00):
And they have which my friend Mark, who you met
at the wedding Christy, he's a Las Vegas resident. Oh
my gosh, He's like, oh, she's messing up traffic. They're
building it all around, you know, all the stands everywhere.
But as a you know, tourist, like I think it'd
be so fun to be singing in one of the
stands and watching the Formula one race cars go by.
Speaker 2 (16:22):
That'd be so boss. Oh.
Speaker 5 (16:28):
If you're listening right now, what's the most fun you've
ever had in Las Vegas? You can tap the red
talkback microphone on our free iHeartRadio app. Oh shoot, what
was her name? One of our winners. I want to say,
Samantha actually got married four years ago. In Las Vegas
and she's looking forward to going back. But you can
let us know, and hopefully if you go to Vegas,
(16:50):
you'll let me know if you have fun.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
And what else, ladies, what else.
Speaker 1 (16:54):
Do we need to do? I appreciate you listening to
episode number seventy.
Speaker 5 (16:58):
Nine point alright, then, until next time, I'm worth the Quinn.
Speaker 1 (17:07):
I'm Christie, I'm Cree of Alaska's miss here ready
