Yes, you dropped a wallet when you were in here
the other day, right, and so you called us and
you want to see if we found it?
Speaker 2 (00:48):

Did I find your wallet? I don't know what there's somebody?

Okay, Pete, Okay, okay, do listen. I get it.

You work at a haunt of house, Harry sound effects

Oh that's not a sound effect. That's James. He's he's
one of the gals here with a chainsaw. He's back
here with me. We figured we'd again.
Speaker 3 (01:12):
Can you ask James if he found my wallet?
Speaker 1 (01:15):
I can't ask James, he just left. But yes, we
did find your wallet.
Speaker 3 (01:19):

How do I go about picking it up?
Speaker 1 (01:22):
Let me ask the ghost that lives here, Beatrice? Hey, Beatrice,
where can Dexter get his wallet back? You gotta be
freaking out now.
Speaker 3 (01:37):
No, I'm not because I know this is a handed house,
like I just want my wallet, like it's It's also
in the middle of the day, so I'm not dead.
What's that?
Speaker 2 (01:49):
I'm sorry?
Speaker 1 (01:50):
There's a man man with a chainsawon whoa James?
Speaker 2 (01:58):
Okay, bro, Bro, can I speak? Can I speak to
a manager?
Speaker 1 (02:01):
Please? Oh that's me. I run the place.

Can I come pick up The last thing you expected
was for a madman with a chainsaw to call? Yeah?

Oh? Your wallet? You want to come get it?

Well, then you can come down and I'll tell you
exactly when you can come down. But James has it
now and he's got a chainsaw. Keep doing it, James,
keep going, Yeah, he's got it. He's got a chainsaw though,
and you got to get through James to get it.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
Okay, what time can I come and get the wallet?
Speaker 1 (02:54):
Okay, got a bit of a problem, damn it, James.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
What you're being so annoying right now? Can't I just
get my wallet? Yes? Or no?
Speaker 1 (03:04):
Like?

Why did I get a wallet?
Speaker 1 (03:05):
You can get both of them, I guess now this
would be a good way to say it. Both.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
What the what are you talking?
Speaker 3 (03:11):
I left one wallet, it's a black I don't understand
what you're talking about.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
Well, uh, sometimes we have a little too much fun
here at the Haunted House. And James was messing around
with the chain saw because we're trying to give you
a little scary experience to say you can come get
your wallet, and uh sort of dropped it, dropped it
on the chainsaw, and it's, uh, you kidding me.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
You did not try, like the chain chawed your heart.
Don't even their proph Why are you playing on my phone.
I'm just gonna leave work now and get my wallet.
You're being so stupid right now. I don't have time
for this, so I'll see you guys in twenty five minutes.
Speaker 1 (03:46):

The Burden
The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed.
