you know you are late.
Speaker 3 (00:16):
Great for what I'm sorry? Who is this?

I'm I'm the manager at the restaurant you're starting at,
and I'm working in the shift tonight with you, so
I'm gonna let you know that you're late.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
Oh, I'm sorry. I'm sorry about that.
Speaker 2 (00:34):
I know I'm joking with you. You're not late for
your shift. You're a little bit late to really getting
that spark back in your life. But I'm glad I'm
working with you tonight because that's what I do. You
already knew that.
Speaker 3 (00:44):
Though, putting the Sparks Back in My Life.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
Yes, todd Sparks. I'm I'm the todd Sparks. I'm your
manager tonight. Todd Sparks.

Okay, well, I appreciate you call hearing you may I
don't necessarily need any Sparks put in my life. I'm
excited to start this job. You be getting a regular pace. Okay.

I understand and you shouldn't feel bad for, you know,
feeling so beat down and like everything's against you.

But what we're gonna do is I can hear the.

And what I'm going to do is fan the flames
tonight when you start your first shift at the restaurant.
Speaker 3 (01:59):
Yeah, something burning me. Listen. I don't think that this.
I don't like the way that this relationship has started,
and I don't mind you being my manager, and I
am definitely a good worker. But you do it too much, my.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
Friend Leah, if you think about it, doers like myself

And what I want to do is do you I'm
sorry that came out the wrong way.

It's not how I meant, not how I meant it.

What I meant is I want to do you like,
motivate you is what I mean, not the other way.
But I want to put the spark back in your life.
I want to teach you how to do what doers do.
And that is a rhyme that I just made up.
That's why starting tonight we'll be working closely together. And
did they let you know about the retreat that we
have to go on.

Yeah, that's right. You've been talking me every single year.

for a week on the wilderness and I teach everybody
how to get the spark back in their life. It's

always speaking, and it's really going to get you started
on your career path to be in the best Server

The Burden
The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm.
