Federal Bureau of Investigations. I was looking to speak with

Yeah, this is this has been. Why why is the
FBI calling me?

I work in the organized crime unit, and I'm sure
you know why I'm calling.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
Uh, I do not know why you're calling, all.
Speaker 3 (00:43):
Right, So I'm gonna give you an opportunity to knock
it off because you're gonna tell me that you don't
know why I'm calling.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
I really, I really don't know why you're calling.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
Because we can do this the easy way or the
hard way, and I can tell you if you lie
to me, it's going to be the hard way.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
Ben, sir, I'm not lying about anything.

Have you been doing any organized criming lately? Ben, maybe
that's the question to ask you. I work in sales.
I don't do I don't do anything.

Well, let's talk about a little bit of gambling that
you recently got involved in.

I have only done it one time. It's not something
I normally do. I'd literally everyone was doing it. I
just didn't. I didn't think that there was something that
was going to be an issue.
Speaker 3 (01:40):
Ben, I'm sure you're aware that illegal sports betting through
a bookie is a crime.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
I didn't even want to do it. I don't even
normally do that sort of thing.
Speaker 4 (01:51):
But one of my co workers he knew a bookie,
and I'm a Blue Jays fan, so.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
All right, and so you thought you'd go ahead and
place a wager through an illegal sports betting operation that
we've been investigating.
Speaker 4 (02:04):
Then it just it wasn't even that much like there's
I feel like a lot of people do a lot.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
More than what I was doing.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
So, Ben, I'm gonna ask you to be honest with
me again. The illegal sports betting bookie that your coworker
introduced you to, named Peter, we uh have taken him
into custody today.
Speaker 2 (02:23):
Okay, God, what does that mean for me?
Speaker 3 (02:28):
Well, I think you know what it means, because Peter
told us everything.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
No, I I literally didn't even do anything wrong.
Speaker 4 (02:39):
I just I did what everybody else does this is
it was fifty dollars. I don't understand. All I did
was give fifty dollars to a bookie for the Blue Jays.
That's just a it's baseball.
Speaker 2 (02:52):

You're gonna tell me that what the bookie Peter told
us is not true and you're not the leader of
the organization.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
