Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Jubile Show on demand.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
Sometimes you comment things on social media and you don't
expect people to call you up about it. Yeah, I
mean a lot of times. I actually it's a Jubile
Show by the way. I there's this segment that I've
been wanting to do for a while where if somebody's
getting trolled on social media, we do whatever I have
to do. Higher detectives somehow track down whoever the troll
(00:24):
is and then confront them.
Speaker 3 (00:25):
I mean, I think we can do that. We do
it with cheeters. I can't imagine how we couldn't figure
out how to do it that way.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
Well, because I've seen it happen on social media. You know,
somebody will find out who's their troll is, and then
they'll show up their place of business be like, hey, hi,
I'm here. Now would you like to say it to
my face? Because a lot a lot of people who
say things online are willing to stay in there and
actually say it to your face. I'm impressed by people
who will do that because I'm that type of person,
like if I say something about somebody, they call me out.
(00:53):
I'm always I've always been like, yeah I said it,
here's why, And then have a conversation, right, And I
appreciate reasonable people, and some of our listeners are incredibly awesome. Yeah, absolutely,
And I want to highlight one of those people right now.
His name is Kevin, and he's on the phone right now.
He has been very active on Instagram. He's asked a
(01:16):
lot of questions. And actually the whole thing I think
started because Nina joined the show. And Nina and I
go back a long time. Nina is one of the
people I've known the longest in my life, honestly, one
of one of my oldest friends. Ye really, and so
Nina joined the show. I introduced Nina that way, and
(01:37):
then the troll has started and the internet hate started.
That happens whenever you start a new show like this,
when you work in media or in the public, right
as soon as you start a new thing, people cannot
stand you last worked in Chicago, I.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
Worked in Atlanta, and but yeah, every time I've started
a new show, I understand it's because it's changed, you know,
And it's hard for a lot of people to accept,
especially when they don't know what's going on. But I've
learned to not take it personal. But I also do
want to know, like what your concerns are, like, how
can we help?
Speaker 2 (02:12):
What's the problem? And it is hard. I mean I've
seen people have complete meltdowns because of hate that they
get on the internet. I mean, Nina, you take it
all because, like you said, it's I know, it's not personal.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
I mean it hurts still. Let me be honest. Yeah,
I'm human. I don't like to see that I'm horrible,
or that I have my personality is too big, or
like go home and die, like you know. I don't
like those things.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
Right.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
Yeah, somebody actually did tell Nina to die, and I
was like, dude, that is ridiculous. It's a radio show, okay.
And the weirdest thing for me is sometimes people will
say they're a fan of mine and then they'll just
dump on somebody on the show, and I'm like, well,
(02:55):
they're a reflection of me. This is the Jubiles show, right,
Obviously was involved in bringing them on the show. I
want them here. So please don't tell my co host
to die. Thank you, don't tell my friend to die.
I would appreciate that because I would like her to
be around. It's incredibly rude, But there are some listeners
(03:18):
out there. I like to highlight the positive and everything.
So I want to highlight one of our listeners who
was upset at first and then was very rational and
apologized and said, hey, the reason that I'm fresh while
let him tell it. It's his name is Kevin.
Speaker 3 (03:32):
Kevin.
Speaker 2 (03:32):
What's that man?
Speaker 1 (03:34):
They are good?
Speaker 2 (03:36):
You sound tired, keV.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (03:40):
When you actually a hard worker in this generation does
a lot to you.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
You just get off work?
Speaker 4 (03:47):
Yeah, okay, okay, so you worked, you worked the overnight shift.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
Yeah for now.
Speaker 4 (03:54):
Eventually they go off Snority base, so probably both five
or eight years of that before it can be no
normal on the base shift.
Speaker 2 (04:03):
I used to work overnights. Is it's super hard shift.
But thank you for coming on the show man. I
appreciate it. So, uh you, I guess so, Nina, you
can tell it because you were talking to Kevin and
you were telling me, so I said, well, let's call
it Kevin up.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (04:20):
No, Kevin's been really great. Like I just noticed that
he had expressed concern on a lot of different posts.
So I just started asking questions and Kevin actually had
really good feedback for me, because Kevin, what was it
about me that was annoying you?
Speaker 4 (04:30):
The most. I think the biggest thing is when you
continued to do the show and like the first day,
follow up and whatnot, it was suddenly, instead of getting
their whole story, you'd start talking over them and start
judging what's the situation is before you actually to figure out,
(04:51):
you know, actually what's going on, like where they're coming from.
So I feel like you're a little too excited to
jump the gun to say, you know, letting.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
Them talk, letting them express. But yeah, I don't know
if it just had something to do with the whole
like situation or yeah, I forgure out what's going on.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
But you know, that's how as a perception can do.
It can make you see things differently, right, Because dude, Kevin,
I get hate for that a lot. People are like,
shut up and let them talk because I'm always butting
in with stupid jokes. Right, But Kevin, how long have
you listened to me?
Speaker 4 (05:29):
Probably when I started English seven was on the show, Okay,
so that was quite a while back.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
Yeah, so you're probably used to that with me, But
since Nina's new, you notice it and you're like, shut up, right,
But you.
Speaker 3 (05:41):
Know why, I loved it, and it was so refreshing
to hear. Kevin seriously, thank you because, as I mentioned
to him, when you work in with different shows and
in different studios, the energy that it's expected of you
is different. So my last show, I needed to be
a lot more ah, but here I don't have to
do so it's like, you know, just finding my way
and all. So I'm still new, guys, this is the
(06:02):
third week.
Speaker 2 (06:03):
It's a process, you know. Yeah, And I know the
show has had a lot of changes, and Kevin, thank
you for like sticking around through them. And you said
that it was originally just you were you were on
social media talking to Nina and being like you're you're
annoying or whatever, and you did have like a good
conversation with her after which I respect. I respect anybody
(06:25):
that can go yeah, I said it, here's why. So
was that just was that the only frustration or what
other frustrations have you had?
Speaker 1 (06:32):
Kevin?
Speaker 4 (06:35):
I think we're a lot of that coming from, like said,
our work over night.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
So when I get off, I'm able.
Speaker 4 (06:40):
To listen to your show where I'm going home, and
it's actually really enjoyable. And this newer person kind of
threw off my vibe a little bit. So like when
I go to comment on you guys with like Instagram pace,
that's probably where a lot of negativity it came from.
But once I'm able to sleep on it, and then
once I was able to reach out next ye a
(07:00):
better conversation, to channel differently and more constructively instead of
just say hey, don't do this, right, they say alive.
Obviously I follow them on social media, but it's just
like they're just gone, and it's like that wasn't really addressed.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
Yeah, I think the fans are wondering about that.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
I know that's one of the things that does bug
me about radio. And I don't know why. In this instance,
I like listened because a lot of times the corporate
like higher up people would just like you just you
ignore it, right, And I've never done that in my career. Really,
I've always talked about it if if I if I
was on a show, somebody left, I was like, why
would we just I mean, people listen, they're gonna know,
(07:41):
let's just talk about it whatever. I know that for me,
I got fired from my last job and they did
the same thing. They didn't address or whatever. It made
sense because I was like the host of the show
made a little bit more sense. But some of the
things that they did was like really weird about how
they tried to cover up how I left, and that
was so strange to me, and I never wanted to
(08:03):
do that, and I guess I realized I kind of
did that. So I left some people hanging, and I
left our listeners going like, are you ever going to
address it? Here's the deal. This show is still new, right.
This is really my first show that I've had that
is an opportunity to stand on my own, the Jebil Show.
I've been paired up with people, and I've been hired
(08:25):
for jobs, and we are hiring a staff, and you know,
we work for a big corporation too. Sometimes that involves
money and budget cuts and things like that that you
can't control at all. So those things have happened right
where they downsize and there's nothing you can do about it. Also,
(08:47):
people have left for better opportunities. Can't hate on that,
you know, And so it's like a normal job almost,
you know, Like it's like, if you're listening to the show,
I kind of like to look at it and it's
time for your phone. Brank, I know that I'll get
to that in a second. But I like to look
at things in a good way, Kevin all the time,
kind of like sounds like you do when you get
(09:08):
enough sleep because working overnights. Dude, I felt the same
when I worked overnights right until I got some sleep.
But I like to look at things in a good
way and go it's normal life, right, Like I don't
want to hide anything from anybody, And everybody that has
(09:28):
been on this show and is doing something else, we're
all cool, like we're still friends. Actually a lot of
people say that, but it's not really the truth, right.
They don't ever talk anymore nothing. I just texted Christian
the other day. I live with my wife, Alex. We're
still married, right. She's doing her things. She's got some
exciting stuff she's doing. Radio was never really her thing, right,
(09:52):
She did it because she was with me and I
saw talent, right. But she's got some cool stuff that
she's doing. And I'm not trying to clip anybody's wings, right,
So if you want to move on and you want
to go somewhere else, fly, I'll help you, you know.
And I do feel bad that I haven't really addressed it.
(10:13):
So the answer is is it's like turnover. There's been
a lot of turnover, but most of it is stuff
that really couldn't control, right, because I'm not going to
control somebody's dreams and I can't control budget cuts. So
did that answer the question? Okay for you? Kevin?
Speaker 4 (10:35):
Yeah, I definitely see where you're coming from. I think
something that would definitely help lighten the mood and move
forward from this whole thing is Victorious are writing jokes again?
Speaker 1 (10:48):
Because I absolutely love them?
Speaker 3 (10:49):
And wrong?
Speaker 2 (10:51):
Yeah, I would love that, all right, Kevin. We'll make
sure Victoria does a joke for you every day. Thanks man,
I appreciate Nathen, I appreciate you.
Speaker 1 (11:01):
Dude.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
Get some sleep, okay, thank you, Kevinan.
Speaker 1 (11:04):
That's soundly good.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
All right, I have a good one. He's exhausted working
overnights is terrible.
Speaker 3 (11:09):
I know.
Speaker 4 (11:09):
