and I think a lot of uscan relate to this. If you've ever
been to like an event or aconcert. This girl was at this K
pop concert and you know when yougo to these concerts, it costs a
lot of money. Nowadays, everythingit's just so exuct everything from when you
get your tickets, the fees, the parking, if you get in a
new outfit, driving in everything. So you want to go there and enjoy

(17:38):
the show. But what happens whenyou have that person in front of you
that has a huge sign that iscompletely blocking your view. Oh my god,
dude, I'm looking at a pictureright now. You can't even see
the stage. Yes, oh thatis wrong. The way that they're holding
the sign up, you can't seethe stage. That is a horrible.

(17:59):
Oh my god. And That's that'swhere the conversation was going. In the
comments they were talking about is therelike concert etiquette? Is there? Yeah?
When you go to the concert, should you be aware of other people
around you? Or are you therebecause you paid your own money and you
could be able to take whatever sonyou wanted. But I would have got
with the person in front of himand be like, hey, can you
hold this shirt up? You blockthem? Wow? Yeah, this should

(18:22):
be concert etiquette. Yeah, there'scertain things like I don't got to be
bad for you too. I don'twhat do you mean just people standing up?
Oh yeah yeah, I mean youtell me about a story of my
life. Bro. Yeah. ButI'm that type of person where like I've
gone at events and people be like, oh, let's go sit in the
front until someone comes for their seats. Like no, I don't like that
because I've been in that situation whereI've gone to my seats and had people
be like, hey, those aremy seats, and then I have to

(18:44):
kick them out and it's like,if you know those aren't your seats,
why are you even sitting there.I love when people play like it's steal
their seats. Oh yeah, andthen they go and they start looking like,
no, this this is okay, okay, this is floor okay,
okay, because I was looking atwhat's hello? G Okay, we're up
here again. It's just something.Hey, man, what about when you

(19:06):
leave from a concert right now?You could have been at a concert for
probably two three hours, and thenwhen you get in the car, people
start paying the same music that youheard on the inside. Have you seen
it? Okay, we know you'rea friend. You're here, all right,

lady at a K pop concert.Girl was holding up a sign so no
one behind her because see what wasgoing down with the stage. When I
looked at the picture, it lookedridiculous how bad she was blocking and obstructing
to other people's views from watching thisconcerts really just asking. I hated when
concert Edition go ahead and link itoff. I've been in so many situations

(20:53):
and I hated when concert edition whereyou go to the venue and you're like,
I'm gonna go get a beer,and it's that time you're in line,
you're waiting, you're going to bethe next person, and then you
see some type of manager come inand be like no more alcohol sales,
No more alcohol sales. Yeah man, You're like, bro, please man,
just one more? Sorry, mandosare the rules. No more alcoholics.
Yeah, that one is like afterthis guy right here, actually this

(21:15):
one no more. I just madeit. Yeah. I hated in concert
Edition big. I'm a short person, very sure, right, so if
somebody stands up, they're blocking me. But then if we're like at a
festival where you don't really have levelsto anything, and you're trying to get
in the front, you're in thepit, and then all these tall people
come and they start pushing me oneand the tall you know that Coachella,
I almost got in the fight. What's on? Yeah, Beyonce for so

(21:37):
long and these guys were trying topunk me. So I looked up at
them and I was like, heybuddy, yeah, man, hey man.
I hate when people have like aloose bladder or something and you're sitting
at the aisle and they got tokeep passing by, like excuse me going
to the bar, like can youjust buy a forty pack? Why are
you up there? I hated Edition. I hate it when you're in your
seats and everyone has your seat,You have your area, and people start

(22:02):
scooting into your area. You haveto start moving over, so the next
people have to move over, andyou're like bro stay in about the people
that come down and they'd be inthe aisle and doing security, try to
clear them. They try to getwith you, yea in your road and
you're like, keep it moving, man, get out of here. And
the over singer like, dude,I didn't come and pay all this money
so you can slaughter these songs.Or the people that want to talk all

(22:25):
the time. Oh, you're likeyeah, and you got to know how
to have etiquette and as drop yourvoice down a little bit, you know
what I'm mean. I hate itwhen concert edition y'all stick around, y'all

don't know what both of my yourmother, you get on the phone Jesus
Christ every hour every day right herein Balia. I know who's in the

(25:12):
neighborhood news, Yes, Drake, and it is because Timberland actually is showing
jay Z and Drake some love.During a recent interview, he talked about
like being addicted to pills and saidthat Drake and Hove actually checked in on
him, and the drugs have melike I'm Timbo. Everybody can come to

(25:33):
me, right And then then whenI realized ain't nobody coming to me?
You know what I'm saying? Andmy energy is wearing off on the world
and I didn't even know it.In social media and stuff. I was
saying with us, all yeah, told you say, man, don't do
no interviews. Yep, that's whyI'm trying to say, he's a prophet,
right, you know. Even Draketold me, Drake, that's why
I said, That's why I lookat people like those guys. Those guys

(25:56):
are like special to the world.Like you know, Drake, I think
I is something talk crazy on onerevote and um ye, like yo,
man, you don't want to dothat and have to go back and apologize
leg like you want to check it. Like I commend people like that for
correcting me and all my behavior.I love when these relationships go past the

(26:17):
music and there's people that actually reallycare about you in this industry because you
hear so much that this industry isso hard and so mean. So I
love that they looked out for Timberland. And this is why I can't be
having Drake retire. Remember when hetold this a little Yaddi. I think
I'm at the point now where Ijust want to like, I feel like
maybe we talked about this the otherday, but I feel like I'm kind

(26:40):
of introducing the concept in my mindof a of a graceful exit. Yeah,
he takes as many pauses as aBarack Obama. But yeah, you
know, this actually isn't even thefirst time that Trick has talked about retiring
from music, because he's even putit in his lyrics Randomny Oklahoma City Thunder,

(27:02):
the most successful rapper thirty five andunder. I'm assuming everybody's thirty five
and under. That's when I'm playinga retirement. It's already funny. Now,
oh gosh, you know I wassupposed to look I thought he was
thirty six. Yeah, it's thirtysix. So he's got to get on
now schedule. You know what.Drake's never on schedule too. Sometimes he'll

(27:22):
tell us like an album's coming, then later he dropped four albums overnight exactly.
Hey man. But yeah, it'scrazy because if that's his exit strategy,
and I know that Drake will alwayshave something to do with music.
And I think sometimes people just needa break, you know what I'm saying.
I think people are afraid to sayI'm gonna take some time off as

(27:44):
opposed to retirement. Sounds so definite. Yes, yeah, And I and
I've been you know, I've beena child of hip hop man and I've
heard so many retirements. Yes,you know what I'm saying, and they're
still here. I can't have Drakewe retire. It's one of my favorites.
He is one of my tops. And then on his retirement to Drake's
that five hours of yeah, yeah, exactly. You know what I'm saying.
Only fifteen singles a year, sohe puts out so much music.

(28:07):
It would be weird if he everretired. Don't do it there. It
is just sick around y'all. Radio'sBig Boys Neighborhood. This is Big Boys

(29:36):
I think we're really not going hegonna Jason, funny, dude, he

(30:22):
coast as well. Yeah, buteveryone on TikTok wanted to know them.
They're like, how do they notget invited? Like we see pictures of
random people in there. So peopleare upset and it's crazy, man,
because I've known jay Z his wholecareer. Yeah pretty much. You know
what I'm saying. And the favorsyou know, and the calls and can
you get miffens bleak on and wehave a we have and had a relationship.

(30:44):
But yeah, that's crazy, man. It didn't you see other people
And I'm like, wait, thatmakes no I'm not that like, I'm
not that known guy. You knowwhat I'm saying, Like, like,
I like and I don't want tosay real people. I like people.
I think I'm more of a peoplechamp than an industry champ. I agree,
you know what I'm saying, Like, yeah, because I don't,
I don't do I want to go. I would go, but I don't.

(31:07):
I don't think that my name comesup in a lot of those circles
really, but people would invite meto the barbecue easy called. Probably not
the brunch, but the barbecue.Believe that. Man. You can find
that entire interview from the other daywith Marlon Wains at Radio Bigboy dot com
is big Boy TV is right there. Make sure that you hit that up.
Make you sure you subscribe as you'rewatching. It does not hurt.

(31:30):
You'll stick around, y'all. Radio'sBig Boys Neighborhood. This it's Big Boy's
Neighborhood on demand, Big Boys Neighborhood. In case you missed Jay Cole up
in here whatever age Oh not jCole in Yeah, because he's the best.
He left r Lenox speechless during hershow in London when he popped out
on stage as a special guest andstarted performing his song with her. I

(32:07):
love it man, they got ahell of a formula too. Yep.
It was such a beautiful moment andone of the times that we did have
Jay Cole in the neighborhood. Weasked him what would he be doing if
he wasn't an artist. I don'tknow the answer. It depends on like
if I never want to want tobe a rapper, I would like to
think that I would go do somethinglike more useful with like smarter, some
type of scientists or some physicists, like something where I'm like, because now

(32:29):
that I'm getting old, I'm likerealizing how much I didn't learn. But
I want to know, you knowwhat I mean? So I would want
I like to think it would besomething more than one. Job did you
have before we knew Jay Cole?First job I ever had was at the
skating rink in Fairville, North Carolina. I had a job from fourteen all
the way to like nineteen. Itwas the best job you can't use.
Skated every Saturday and Sunday, there'sparties like little kids coming. They have

(32:52):
parties, but like the worst No, but it's not dope. It the
worst part of the job is likethe dudes that work, they always have
to dress up in this kangaroo outfite, you know what I mean, like
and then show the kid y'all riskreal. This is where you were the
outfit. This is real. Pleasetell me back Thursday that you can put
this out. I got no picturesin it, but I go do it
just to get there. My daughter'sbirthday is one. I'll do it.

(33:15):
Please come into Kangaroo walking skate Nobody, nobody, damn. I love him,
man. I know that energy ofthe live. He's always good in
the neighborhood man. And I forgotthat he was saying that he had that
job where he had to put onthe kangaroo outfit. Isn't that crazy man
in a kangaroo Dude? There issomeone right now like dude Jake Cole did

(33:37):
my party when he worked at theskating rink. Yeah, yeah, there
it is. You still owe methat cold believe that man. Y'all continue
to hang out with it and forthose out there, in case you missed,
it. You can find that entireinterview at Radio big Boy dot com.
This is Big Boys Neighborhood on demand, Big Boys Neighborhood and that Thalia
is up in here and that Thaliawhat we got listen y'all say, has

(34:00):
a new project. So, okay, we know that Beyonce is on tour
right now the Renaissance toy that looksamazing. But she also did post up
a photo on her Instagram and inthe photo, she's sitting in front of
a mirror and she's doing her hair. And she goes on to explain that
one of the first gigs for Destiny'sChild was playing for people who were getting
their hair die. She said thatexperience always stayed with her. She says,

(34:21):
I can't wait for you to experiencewhat I've been creating. So of
course fans are like, oh,she's creating a haircare line. This is
gonna be really cool, and Ithink it's gonna be amazing. But you
know, something that always sticks withme with Beyonce is a story that fifty
Cent once told, Oh, yeah, when Beyonce actually wanted to fight him
he was out in Las Vegas. His relationship with jay Z wasn't that good,

(34:42):
and Beyonce was just they're just likebacking up her. Man damn man?
Did she did work? She jumpedoff and the thing I was like,
I didn't really know what to do. She jumped out. She was
like on a window sill. Right, it was in Vegas. She said,
come on, she jumped out.She and I'm like, wait,
what did she doing to be saying? She was just staying at you?
No, she came't like she wasready, like something was gonna happen.

(35:06):
And I'm like, yo, whoa, whoa, you're throwing me off now
because I don't know what exactly howto responded. You are still Beyonce.
You know, she brought all ofthe sexy over like she was ready for
all the smoke though, that's whathe says now. He didn't get very
well though. He was like,I was, I noticed this is about

(35:27):
fifty like it will be so openabout things, but he will not give
details on certain story and when youlisten to it, it's like he didn't.
She didn't work. She jumped off. Thing collect I was like,
I didn't really know what to do. She jumped out, she was like
on the window, sound like yeah, man man. He said that she

(35:50):
came out of nowhere and that shewas kind of got in his face a
little bit, and he didn't saywhy like that you were frowing in fifty.
They're just aspect of it that Ihad to cut out because it just
was he was like so far offthe mic, I was like fifty to
get it together and was that withthe breakfast that was with our friends another
studio? So horrible? He waslike the conversation who the engineer who didn't

(36:17):
want that audio to survive? Andon the mic? Yeah, but he
said they're all fine now, everything'scool, and he's but he wasn't all
right here, Hey man, youheard it here. Stick around your radio

(36:38):
show, The Big Boys Neighborhood. You're inside Big Boys Neighborhood Full show episode
podcast, Big Boys Neighborhood Missed theX to the Z exhibit in the Neighborhood.
When was the first time you heardyourself on so called wax? The
first thing I ever did was KingT's fourth album. It was called Keen
T for Life, and I wason the song called Freestyle Ghetto. That

(37:01):
was the first thing I ever heardof myself on wax. Really damn mostly
after that. It was before that, but I was just on the hook
really if you if you didn't knowthat was me. It was sounded like
a sample on which one damn. But then you said David's head that exhibit
you know, yeah, yea man. But has always been like that.

(37:22):
Yeah, Senci baby, that's crazy. That's crazy because third grade, like
I like here over here, you'relike that kid that viral, kids like
I shut up, stop stop stop. You know, so at that point

(37:45):
you know that this is what youwant to do. Yes, yes,
Did you have any other like youknow how people go through rap names before
they find themselves. Did you haveany other rap names before exhibit? Yes?
I had a few different ones. The first one I wrote down was
ice and then I was like,oh, there's ice cube, there's ice
tea. At the time it wasvanilla ice. It was yeah, I

(38:07):
can't use that, I was right, right. So then I was like,
okay, I'm gonna be MCA.And I was like, there's a
breaking company called MCA. There there'sMCA from boys. It's like yeah yeah,
and everything was like MC this MCthat. It was just like MC
was before everyone did. I'll tellyou my name back in the day before
Big Boy, my name was MCscratch ye yeah for real man, and

(38:31):
I thought it was clever two eggs. I was like man for the rapping
scratches for the DJ. So yeah, I'll get you when you say everything
was MC right. So then afterthat it was like I was in a
battle one time, because I comefrom like the battle circuit, right,
and so I was battled and Isaid something along the lines where I think
I saw this. No, no, I was sorry about that, Sorry

(38:57):
about that. I'm tripping, man, I'm comfusing this reality and movies go
ahead now yo. So it wasit was so I was like Exhibit A
on display something something like that, and I was like, oh, that's
it. So Exhibit A was thefirst incarnation of the name now and then
when the Bonnics came in, Iput the X in the Z, dropped
the A, and then it wasan exhibit spelled like exhibit because you know,

(39:19):
to this day some people don't knowhow to spell exhibit because yeah,
you know what, yeah man,you and ludicrous unt you know what I'm
saying. So you go from ExhibitA and then you're like, man,
exhibit exhibit and it felt natural. It felt real, It felt good.
Exhibit. We definitely got more totalk about. Man, fifty years of
Hip Hop series is going down.Exhibit is in the neighborhood coming back when

(39:44):
more, mister X to exhibit BigBoys Neighborhood. This is Big Boys Neighborhood
on demand. Yeah, mister XTDZ. Exhibit is in the neighborhood a man,
And it's crazy because there's a storythat you gave me about multiplying.
I've been in this way and Ican't stop. Tell me the backstory on

(40:05):
that. That took me about twothree hours to get that line. Yeah,
this one, that one. I'vebeen in this way, you can't
stop. And why did it takeyou two three hours to get that line?
Because he wanted me to sound likea down South preacher, right,
and this is dray. I keptsaying, I've been in this way and

(40:29):
I can't stop. No, I'vebeen in this way and I can't stop.
That's what he wanted it. Icouldn't understand where he was trying to
take me, but I wasn't fight. I was just like and then he
sat there patiently with me like Nope, try it again, Nope, try
it again, Nope, try itagain, and then I did everything.

(40:50):
I went back out there, Iwent close to his face. I was
like, am I am I missing? And then eventually it was like,
oh, so I had to breakout of what I thought I needed to
sound like and got into where hewas trying to direct me. And that's
why the first intro lines sound likethat. You know what I'm saying,
Hey man, you know what's crazyabout that story X is when you say

(41:14):
two three hours, right, thisentire clip, I've ten seconds And that's
not even just that I've been thisway, did you? I will never
forget it though, really, Andso that ten seconds he just said kept
saying do it over, do it, over, do it, over,
do it over, do it overand you keep doing it over and over.

(41:37):
And why did you trust him tokeep doing it over and over and
over, because you know he didn'tget there for doing nothing right. You
know what I'm saying. Your firstcouple of tastes, did you think you
had it? Yes? Yeah,I thought drop the headphones that let'ring up
the other track? No, no, no, no, hey man,

(41:58):
when you heard this I've been inthis way, did you know you had
it? Or when he was likethat's it. You're like, oh,
that's it. Yes, I wasexpecting to keep it going. And then
when when he said play that back, that's when you like, oh yeah,
okay, well got it. Ithink we got something. How many
times do you think you did atX if you had to guess him,
I think maybe four or five hundredtimes? X. Are you serious?

(42:22):
Yeah? Yeah? Do you likethat song or does it take you to
an abusive place? I love thesong? Okay, I love it.
Hey, man, do you hearthe session? Every time you hear thisself?
I will never forget that part.Yeah, man, even if I
have all timers, I've been,I've been stop. That's the only thing

(42:45):
he remembers. That's the only thingthat he remembers. You know, exhibit.
We definitely got more to talk about. Man, fifty years of hip
Hop series is going down. Exhibitis in the Neighborhood coming back when more
Mister X too does the exhibit BigBoys Neighborhood. I ain't leaving this neighborhood
the Big Boy from Big Boys Neighborhoodon iHeart Radio. Here's another in case

(43:07):
you missed moment with us Tyrese Manwho doesn't pick up the check tires out
of Jason Van and Luda n Vanis super loaded more than anybody I know.
And yeah, yes, yeah, the reminder you I do got it.
I'm just not spending if you givethem too many compliments. And there

(43:30):
in a row here go oh man, I'm just a poor kid from New
York. Right, thank you forlistening. It is the Big Boy Big
Boys Neighborhood. You can catch moreof us right here on I heard radio
Big Boys Neighborhood. Mister X tothe Z exhibit in the neighborhood. Do
you have like three exhibit songs thatare your favorite song? Yes, and

(43:55):
they're not out yet. Really,Yes, I made something that I feel
is going to be better than anythingI've ever dropped. There's a song called
the Moment with me Buster Ryde, you bust the rhymes and problems? Yes,
what does that sound like? Whatis that it's called? What?

(44:17):
It's called the moment? Right? And then I have a song then you
go, it's the Moment, Thenbust Ryan go, it's the moment?
Why moment? Why? Yeah?Man? And then then then there's a
song called Everywhere I Go that Ijust got done and I can't stop listening
to this record. You know whatI love too many. I love when

(44:38):
you play something for me and Iget like free concerts. Yeah, yeah,
you've ever paid anything for you Likehe'd be like, big listen to
this, and then he goes intothis performance and I'm like, oh,
man, that's how I build myrecords. Yeah, I build my records
to be like, look if thisnever gets seen by the light of day
on any kind of radio station orany kind of anything. If I can

(45:00):
get in front of the crowd andthey hear this, they're gonna love it.
Man, talk to me about therelationship with Eminem. Eminem is dope,
man, you know what I'm saying. And early on rewind me back
to is there a competitive nature andnot competitive like all? But but you
knew, like, man, ifhe get in that booth, I know
how I gotta come Oh you gotyou gotta orangutain them. Yeah. You

(45:21):
can't come in and think that you'regonna do average you know what I'm saying,
or think that you're gonna scape byon swag. You can't swag.
You know you're gonna have to saysomething that is gonna leave a hole in
the car create and so what Ithink of Eminem, I think of you
know, like like, you know, the things that I saw him overcome
and the things that he's been ableto build and keep his dignity and his

(45:45):
and his respect with the culture isamazing. Hey man, how do you
feel with what Eminem is to hiphop? And what Eminem was to hip
hop? And what we know islike, man, this dude amazing.
And then you fast forward and nowyou'll see some people that don't give him
that does that bother you? Absolutelyit does because it's not easy to do

(46:09):
what he's done, what I've done, what Royce has done with Crooked Eye,
has done with Brass Cast has done. Being a lyricist is like trying
to be a samurai against the arfifteen. You know what I'm saying.
You got people with budgets, dancers, lights, you know what I'm saying,
all kinds of you know, lipsyncing, you know pol yeah,

(46:30):
yeah, then you're getting up therewith just you know, your memory,
a microphone and a backbeat. Itis a difficult path to walk. But
I see when people are so easilytrying to dismiss Eminem, and that's just
not what Eminem. This is likewhat all of our greats. Yeah,
hip hop eats its own. Iwas gonna say, I've heard you say
that before. I'm not gonna sayit. It hit eats. It's young

(46:51):
because it's a young man's sport. But you don't see rock and roll cats
like telling Rolling Stones they need toget off the stage. I heard that.
And if he missed any of ourbig interview with mister X twd Z

been in the exact same position. But I remember when on the third date
that I went on with my husband, matt Um, I was at his

stay there somewhere else after but no, but his ID was on the counter.

(48:42):
It was like out of his walland his idea was on the counter.
And you better believe real quick.I sneaked and peeked over because I
was like, he better say whohe has been like, I wanted to
make sure that his ID said, man, you got a lot, you
got a lot. I was like, oh, that is his age.
She probably looked at mind, likehow much does he wear? All right?
What? Oh my lord, ohmy god, what am I gonna
