Forty three years after their first farewell tour, rock and
Roll Hall of Famers The Who are going on their actual,
genuine farewell run where their upcoming song is over tour,
which might be an unofficial record for longest spans between
farewell tours, but guitarist Pete Townsend defended themselves somewhat to
Rolling Stone, while also admitting the nineteen eighty two farewell

tour was a bit of a cash grab, just not
one designed by the band, saying it wasn't me that
said this is the last tour back then. It was
our manager and he did do it because it was
a kutching moment. We sold out an arena tour, but
it wasn't a very smart thing to do. I should
have really protested, but I didn't. I thought if we
wanted to get back together on tour again, we would,

and we did. The Who's Real Farewell Tour, featuring both
surviving members Townsend and Roger Daltrey, hit the States beginning
August sixteenth in Sunrise, Florida. Tickets once sale of the
general public Friday.
