The movie industry might be having a bit of a
revival with a healthy box office across the summer, but
could the days of seeing a literal film be numbered?
The dailies reports at Kodak, the one hundred and thirty
three year old company it's been supplying a film to
the entertainment industry since well before Hollywood was even established,
is in severe debt and could be forced to close,
which is particularly significant because they're currently the primary supplier

of film for all movies still shot on it. Fujifilm,
Kodak's former primary competitor, shuttered in twenty thirteen, and if
Kodak were to go out of business, studios may no
longer be able to get their hands on movie film.
While the industry has shifted to digital cameras over the
past two decades, many filmmakers like Christopher Nolaner Tarantino, Ryan
Coogler still prefer real film. Simply put nothing rivals the

if Kodak closes, Hollywood will have to decide if they'll
manufacture films themselves or abandon it. The good news is
that Kodak is fairly confident they can crawl out of debt,
so hopefully film will continue to be projected in movie
