Speaker 1 (00:00):
Direct from Hollywood. Charlie Hunham plays at serial killer At
Geen in the new season of Monster, whose true story
and crimes have some of the most disturbing details imaginable.
Gean certainly lived up to the name of the show Monster,
but Charlie was focused on finding a way to play
him that brought him to life in a realistic way.

(00:22):
Telling variety, you have to have an enormous amount of
empathy for any character that you play to be able
to inhabit them. Because as despicable as Ed was, I
had to find the human in there. I could certainly
see the accusation being leveled at me that I was
too sensitive toward him and let him off the hook

(00:42):
a bit too much. Charlie is also surprisingly not a
fan of horror movies or shows, adding my hope is,
although I clearly don't understand the function of these types
of stories, I understand that people are very drawn to them.
That's Charlie Hunnam starring in Monster The Ed Geen Story,
which is now streaming unn Netflix. That's direct from Hollywood.

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
