Speaker 1 (00:00):
The next segment we're going to.
Speaker 2 (00:01):
Do is called second Date Update because that's what we're
going to try and get and that's what the bit
is called.
Speaker 1 (00:07):
Second Date Update starts right now on John Jay and
Ridge one oh four to seven Kiss FM. John Jay
Risch tip for Second Date Update.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
You go out a date with somebody having good time,
you expect there to be a second date. It doesn't happen,
So you come to us, and that's what Courtney's doing.
Good morning, Courtney, how are you hi? Good?
Speaker 3 (00:24):
So, like, technically this isn't like a date date. It
was a friend date. But like, honestly, I feel like
that's even more important, you know.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
Okay, So wasn't like it was like a friend, Like,
it wasn't someone that you just met, right it was
so it's a friend in your life that's blown you off.
Speaker 3 (00:39):
No, I mean, so, like we've been Instagram friends and
like have followed each other online for a while and like,
you know, we'll wish each other happy birthday and like
send dms or whatever, but we like hadn't met in
real life yet. So we took that step from becoming
like you know, Instagram friends or online friends to really oh.
Speaker 1 (00:55):
So so interesting.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
So there's no romantic uh carrot if you will, it's
just literally friends.
Speaker 3 (01:02):
Yes, literally friends, and like honestly, like friends are way
more important in the long run. Like I think that's
what we're learning.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
You know, I love it. I love it.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
Okay, let's let's hear the story and find out why
this friend's blown you off.
Speaker 3 (01:13):
Yeah. So yeah, Like you know, we always like comments
on each other's each other's posts and stuff, and she
was posting about like, oh, there's this bar over here
I want to try. So I was like, oh my gosh,
I'll go with you. So we met about this bar
and like it was a vibe.
Speaker 4 (01:29):
Like we just immediately mish.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
It was like, oh my goodness, we must know each
other from a path life or something. And we were
there hanging out with each other for over four hours.
Speaker 5 (01:38):
Wow a long time.
Speaker 3 (01:40):
Wyeah, And like you know, again, it's like we knew
each other. We were talking forever and like you know,
like dudes were literally like sending drinks to our tables.
We were like, I guess the pretty girls or something
at the bar, the fun girls, Like I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
We're just.
Speaker 3 (01:58):
Yes, it's never been like that before, Like I've had
people buy me drinks. But it was just like all night,
like the both of us, like I think they just
saw like together, like we were just like I don't know,
this amazing little like duo. It was just like it
was seriously such a good night. We were like laughing
and talking the whole time about life and like you know,
like went deep and and now nothing, like I haven't
(02:19):
heard anything at all, like not even like a response
to my like had fun like and I posted some
things like I've had some stories up and she hasn't
like engaged, which is like really out of character. So like,
I don't know, I like, I'm just really bummed because
like I thought like my new like friend Mance or
(02:39):
friend Romance was going to be like I don't know,
a new best friend or something like I just want
to know what she doesn't like me.
Speaker 5 (02:46):
That's sad. I know you seem like so bubbly and fun.
I'm really wondering if, like, I don't know, did you
maybe have a little bit too much to drink, Like
I'm trying to like or like maybe I sell the chemistry,
but she didn't like Romance.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
Maybe she wanted to.
Speaker 5 (03:03):
Maybe she yeah, maybe they really hit it off and
she liked her.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
Do you know she thought you were going to be
her Cynthia Rivo to her Arienta petting each other in
during and you guys were at the table. You guys
at the table, you're like touching each other.
Speaker 6 (03:22):
Would be so funny if we just kissed for a while,
they're holding together.
Speaker 3 (03:32):
Uh, Like, I mean, I guess in a friend whay,
I felt like we were holding space. I don't think
it was in like a romantically, but like maybe I
don't know, you.
Speaker 2 (03:40):
Know what's interesting to me And I'm not like a
one who has a lot of friends or is a
good friend.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
That's it don't built.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
But like like when we do second update and it's
about dating, Like I understand the pursual and I understand
why why why why doesn't she want to god me again?
Why doesn't he want to guard me again? But like,
there's people in my life and I can think one
most recently it's very similar to us, hight. I went
on to lunch for somebody we met on Instagram through
a friend and we haven't talked since.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
And I don't care, like I like, I don't I
don't like.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
I don't like, like my friend circle is full.
Speaker 1 (04:13):
Well then three people and two of them I don't.
Speaker 6 (04:15):
Need You're the lord in this scenario, like I went
out the thing and now we're done.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
Right, I just like to me, I'd be like, all right,
she hasn't call me back, she's not coming and see you.
Well that wouw dating totally different but friend then butyay,
we'll call her. So it's Lauren. Lauren is the girl. Yeah, okay,
all right, So we're gonna call Lauren. And how long
ago was this friendship luncheon or dinner or whatever it
was cocktail hour?
Speaker 4 (04:41):
It's been officially eight days, okay, so sorry, alright, and
he had tied a cordon.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
You will call Lauren and we will ask her why
she's blowing up for what happened. Right, So the friendship
second date update continues next with.
Speaker 1 (04:54):
Anna Jane Rich. It's John Jaye Rich. This is a
second ate update, but it's about friends, not dating.
Speaker 6 (05:00):
Well, it's been eight days my friends and friends Giving
season is here, but so is friends taking. Courtney and
her new friend Lauren connected over vibes in the fact
that they were probably the pretty ones at the bar.
But Lauren has unplugged the romance, yanked the cord, and
(05:20):
she is now a ghost of Christmas past. Let's find
if we can connect these two star crust buddies, or
perhaps it's a Christmas miracle gone wrong.
Speaker 1 (05:32):
That was a pretty good recap. I really liked how
you thought you were clever with friends taking because you
had that pause. It was clevered.
Speaker 2 (05:39):
He because it was too good until now, so accolades,
Friend's taking, friends giving, Friends taking courney. Are you ready
to call Lauren find out what I she's blowing you off?
Speaker 1 (05:51):
Are you ready? Yes? Okay, all right, We're gonna get
on the phone right now. Hank Kut.
Speaker 5 (06:12):
Hello, Hi is Lauren there?
Speaker 4 (06:15):
This is Lauren.
Speaker 5 (06:16):
Hey Lauren, my name is Peyton. I'm with John, Jay
and Rich and we just wanted to talk to you
on the radio really quickly. If you got time this.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
Morning, talk to me about what well, Lauren? Is that okay?
If we put you on the radio, though, talk about
a certain situation.
Speaker 4 (06:28):
I guess it depends on what this is about.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
So we do a thing called second Date Update, which
is about people that are dating each other, trying to date,
and then one of them blows them off. And they
want to know why, so we call them to figure
out why they're blowing them off. Okay, okay, so can
we put you on the radio now? Yeah, Okay, this
isn't that really. So there isn't a guy that thinks
(06:52):
you're blowing them off. There's a girl that thinks you're
blowing up. It's kind of a friend's version of our
our dating segment. So we're calling Oh yeah, we're calling
you about Courtney. Courtney told us all about your friendship
and the Instagram dms and the years of you guys
going back and forth and you finally met for cocktails.
She reached out to us and she's like, this isn't
dating thing, but we were just really cool and I
(07:13):
thought we hit it off. And now I'm not hearing
from her. She's not even commenting on my post anymore.
So we thought we would call you and see what's up.
What gears with Courtney?
Speaker 5 (07:21):
Yeah, like, why do not you like her?
Speaker 4 (07:23):
Okay? I mean, I guess I could talk about this.
H It wasn't that I didn't like her. I didn't
text her back, but there was a reason for it. Obviously,
I had fun with her, and I was hoping that
we could be friends and that this could continue. But
I found out pretty quickly that we're just not the
(07:44):
same type of friend Like she's. She seemed very m
she seemed like very male centered, Like you know, we
were hanging out. Did she tell you? Did she tell
you about like the context of this, I think so?
Speaker 1 (08:00):
So you hung out of the bar. Guys are sending
you guys beers?
Speaker 2 (08:03):
You guys were the good looking girls of the group
and whatever, Like you were definitely highlighted in the bar or.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
The restaurant or whatever.
Speaker 4 (08:09):
Okay, yeah, I mean that that was my experience too,
But I felt like she was really encouraging it, Like
it seemed like she was on a mission that night
to get every single one of our dreams paid for.
And that meant she was talking to every single dude
in the bar, like she was even talking to the
guys that girls know better than to be talking to,
do you know what I mean? Like I was sitting
there like, okay, are we hanging out? Are you trying
(08:32):
to collect like every guy here? It was like a
got to catch them all situation in my opinion, And
I'm just super not in that era of my life anymore.
I don't want to party with some random guys section
at the bar until the ass crack of dawn. I
want to go to nice dinners and brunches and half
girl time when I'm with my girls. So I don't
(08:53):
think Courtney's a bad person. I just don't think we're compatible.
Like we're in totally different lanes, and I didn't want
to force a friendship. It seemed like it was with
someone who's not wearing.
Speaker 5 (09:02):
That it kind of makes sense. I'm like, that's so valid.
I feel for Courtney though, because it's like, dang, she
really feels like she got a connection. But sometimes you
are in different paths, and when you have a friend
that wants to go out and party all the time,
you know, and you're locked in, that doesn't really vibe.
So I get that, but it's just unfortunate.
Speaker 4 (09:20):
That's exactly how I felt. I felt like, you know,
I liked this person's personality, but I really didn't like
their behaviors.
Speaker 5 (09:27):
That's fair, That's tough. Yeah, I mean that's understandable.
Speaker 1 (09:30):
Did you guys at all try to kiss at all?
Speaker 5 (09:33):
Of course?
Speaker 4 (09:35):
Excuse me, it's a friend, that's.
Speaker 5 (09:41):
Update. I'm curious what Courtney has to say.
Speaker 3 (09:48):
That's how you really feel that I'm like male centered,
Like seriously, I can't believe you just like said.
Speaker 4 (09:52):
That, like all that about me on the radio. I'm sorry,
I didn't realize that Courtney was on the line. Who
she's been listening this whole time?
Speaker 3 (09:59):
Yes, yeah, okay listening, And I'm offended, Like, seriously, you
said mail center like talking to every guy like and
trying to get them pay for every drink, Like, girl,
you're just hating on me because like I'm prettier than
you and you have zero game, Like, sorry, men talk
to me. I can't help it.
Speaker 4 (10:19):
What that is. First of all, that's so rude. Second
of all, that's not even what this is about. This
has nothing to do with who's prettier.
Speaker 3 (10:27):
How is this that as it clearly does, Like your
dating life is miserable, Lauren, miserable, Like, don't sit there
and act like I'm the problem because I'm getting attention
and you're not.
Speaker 4 (10:38):
Okay, well, first of all, I'm gonna stop you right there,
because I'm not competing with you for men's attention. I
don't like men, which is something you probably would have
figured out if you took a second to get to
know me, and the fact that you just jumped right
into oh, I'm prettier than you, and you know you
(10:58):
suck because I'm prettier. That that proves my point that
you're just trying to get male attention. I didn't text
you back because when we were hanging out, I felt
like I was babysitting someone who needed validation from every
stranger in the room, and that is not the kind
of energy that I need in my friendships.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
Can you guys send us a picture so we could
decide who's prettier? No, how would that be helpful? We're curious, but.
Speaker 6 (11:32):
Like it's so what what you are is Instagram compatible
but not in person compatible.
Speaker 1 (11:37):
So maybe you just go back to that.
Speaker 5 (11:38):
Maybe not even Yeah, she didn't mean to go I
don't think I would want to be at that point.
Speaker 3 (11:46):
Yeah, well she didn't have to say it like that.
Speaker 4 (11:48):
You know, I said it honestly because you pushed us
into this really petty place that I was never intending
to go.
Speaker 5 (11:57):
This is awkward. I don't know if she did push
it there. I know I felt like she was very firm,
and you know, it wasn't like she was throwing shots
at you. I mean she just say she had different
interest than you.
Speaker 1 (12:08):
Oh, I don't know, it's not going to be different
brunch then, huh.
Speaker 5 (12:10):
Right, And I'm sure Courtney, there's gonna be girls that
are definitely like in your era of life right now. Like,
just go out and find them. I promise you they're there.
You'll probably meet them at the safe bar you were at.
Speaker 3 (12:20):
I'll try.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
I guess, well, Courtney, h we got you an answer, Laurence.
Thank you for jumping on there with us. First time
we have done anything like this as far as I
know usual. Yeah, so it was very cool for you
to jump on there. It's okay. You know, Kyle's a
really good friend. Maybe be friends with her friends. She's
got a lot of friends, a lot of friends. When
you see her pictures from over the weekend, I'm.
Speaker 1 (12:40):
Like, they just keep coming. Those are the most friendsho
ever had my life all combined together at.
Speaker 5 (12:44):
One time, three of our friends weren't even there.
Speaker 1 (12:46):
Are you serious? Wow? All right, you guys, thanks for
jumping on there with us.
Speaker 4 (12:51):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (12:52):
That's the friends Giving second ate update on this Thanksgiving week,
John Jay and Rich
