Speaker 1 (00:00):
The next segment we're going to do is called second
Date Update because that's what we're going to try and
get and that's what.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
The bit is called.

Speaker 3 (00:07):
Second Date Update.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Starts right now on John Jay and Ridge one four
to seven.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
Kiss Fam, John Jay and Rich's time for Second Date Update.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
This is about going out on a date with someone.
You think you have a good time, You expect there
to be a second date. There isn't. So you come
to us and we're going to find out what went wrong.
Good morning, Steven, Hey, good morning. What's your story? How
can we help? Ah?

Speaker 4 (00:29):
Yeah, So just kind of genuinely confused right now, and
I'm really hoping you guys could help me out. So
I went out with this girl. She was a couple
of days after Christmas. You know. I went out and
grab a couple of drinks, and honestly, I thought the
date went really well, Like the conversations were folowing really well.
Everything was going, I don't know, like it was fun,
it was easy, we had a good time, and honestly,

(00:50):
like during the date, we actually made plans for a
second date. Yeah, so I thought it was going really well,
and so, you know, the day of the second date
comes around. She texted me and she's like, let you
know that she has to cancel something came up. I said, hey,
no worries, that's not a big deal at all. Let's
like reschedule for something. And she was like, yeah, well,
let's do that. But then since then has not answered

(01:10):
any of my text messages, has been like really short
with me when she does, and honestly, I just feel
like I'm being ghosted.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
Now.

Speaker 4 (01:16):
I don't know what's kind of going on, so it's
can be nice she doesn't know what's going on.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
Was there anything romantic during the first date. Do you
guys make out post Christmas time?

Speaker 4 (01:27):
No? Nothing, like nothing, No, nothing weird. I mean everything
kind of went really. I mean, it was just kind
of a standard normal first date.

Speaker 5 (01:35):
Maybe someone came back in her life how it usually
happens sometimes.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
Yeah, what do they call that during the Christmas season?
Cuffing cuffing cuff Yeah, right, and that's about meeting someone
to get you through the holidays, right, right. Maybe she
thought you would be the one, but no, something happened.
M All right, well we can call her. What's her name?

Speaker 4 (01:55):
Her name is Kara.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
Okay, we'll get Karen on the line. But just real quick,
you guys.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
As he's telling this story, it reminds me of something
I'm somewhat going through right now, which is a different
version of second Dight update. I was asked to go
on a podcast because you know, I'm a hell of
a guest, right yeah, And I've been on a bunch
of podcasts and there was this woman that messaged me
to be a guest on her podcast and I said yes,
and then I had to cancel for some reason. I

(02:20):
can'tmember why I had to cancel. And then she was like,
no problem, that's reschedule and it was supposed to be
scheduled for March of twenty twenty five, and it never happened.
And now I follow her on Instagram because she asked
me to be a guest on her podcast, and I
see all this stuff happening in her world and she's
very interesting and I want to like do a second
ad update find out why she never followed up with

(02:42):
me to be on a podcast.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
No, no, no. The last thing I'll go look through
her dms.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
But the last thing I saw was like if I remember,
was she was going to reach out to me in
March to book the podcast.

Speaker 3 (02:53):
Okay, was it something that maybe back then you could
have talked about, but now there's no reason you would
talk about.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
It on her podcast? Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
Oh, she reached out to me to be like, because
I'm a hell of a guest on any subject. Sure,
all right, So hold on the line, Stephen, We'll get Caara.
We're gonna find out why she's blown you off. All right,
I'm good, and then we can call Hannah and find
out why she's blown me off.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
All right.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
Second Date update continues next with John Jay and Ridge.
John Jay and Ridge, we're in the middle of Second
Date Update. It's Stephen and Kara.

Speaker 3 (03:22):
Well, Stephen and Kara had a great first date over
the holidays, making plans for a second one until Kara
canceled in left Stephen uncuffed. This holiday season, did a
much better and more potent Ex Lover show back up
in Kara's Life. And what about John Jay in the
podcast that was supposed to be rescheduled for March twenty fifth,

(03:45):
where he quote March twenty five. March twenty twenty five, Oh,
I'm sorry, because he's a hell of the guest. He
should be on that podcast. We'll figure out at least
one of these solutions right now.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
All right, Stephen, youre ready for us to call her?

Speaker 1 (03:59):
I'm ready, okay, just real quick in my podcast update
before we close. Yeah, the last text was March first
of twenty twenty five. She said to me, we have
to reschedule our podcast and I said, okay, that was it.

Speaker 6 (04:15):
Yeah, it would be up to her if it's your podcast.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
Right right right? Anyway?

Speaker 5 (04:30):
Hello, Hey is this Kara?

Speaker 7 (04:32):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (04:33):
This is her.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
Hi.

Speaker 6 (04:34):
My name is Peyton. I'm with John Jay and Rich
and we just wanted to talk to you on the
radio really quickly if you got time this.

Speaker 7 (04:39):
Morning, seriously.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
Okay, Oh sorry, I was reading my DMS.

Speaker 5 (04:49):
This is where you jump in, John Jay, Kara.

Speaker 8 (04:52):
I'm sorry. I was reading the DM. I was gonna
read you guys the whole thing about this girl. I
can't plase, gruble me off, not you, Karen's that's what
we're calling you because you blew off somebody and they
came to us that they're asking us why you blew
her off, blew him off, So we thought we'd call
you and find out why.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
So you went on a date with a guy named Stephen.
He called us and told us a little recap of
your date, and he's like, why should blow me off?
Like we'll get her on the phone and we'll find
out that's what we're doing.

Speaker 7 (05:17):
Oh okay, okay, yeah sure.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
Yeah, So why'd you blow him off?

Speaker 1 (05:22):
Do it?

Speaker 2 (05:23):
We're doing it well?

Speaker 7 (05:26):
Like I'm not gonna lie. It's kind of a new year,
New me situation. Like he's great, the day was fun,
no complaints, we had a good time. But like going
into twenty twenty six, I'm really thinking about what I
want and what I don't want, and I feel like
I'm in this season of leveling up, Like I'm just
being honest with myself, Like if you're not making six figures,

(05:48):
I'm not your girl.

Speaker 5 (05:49):
Oh it's like that, did you discuss how much you want?
You know?

Speaker 7 (05:55):
Like I don't want to waste anyone's time. I don't
want to waste my own time. I should have communicated
that better, Like I just I just totally goes to him.
But like in my head, I was like, why force
it when my standards are very clear right now and
this doesn't match them?

Speaker 6 (06:11):
So what did you just ask him? Like first question
out the gate, how much money do you make? How
far into the date? Did you know that this wasn't
for you?

Speaker 7 (06:21):
Well, we were talking about our jobs, and that's like
when I could tell, and I was like, listen, he
sees like a really sweet guy. But I just was like,
this isn't what I'm interested in committing my time to.
If that makes sense.

Speaker 5 (06:34):
I mean, it's honest. It's kind of a bummer for Stephen.

Speaker 4 (06:38):
Hey, Caro, Hi, Yeah this is Stephen.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (06:44):
Uh that I'm not gonna lie to you. That kind
of sucks to hear, but I appreciate you finally saying
it out loud.

Speaker 7 (06:50):
I guess, Oh my god, No way, I didn't right
here on the line. I'm embarrassed. I'm sorry. I'm not
trying to be rude or like make still small. You're great.
I'm just like in a very specific phase right now. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (07:07):
No, I No, I get it. That's the shot to
the you know, it's the shot of the ego. But no,
I get it, Like you're kind of doing your own
thing and I just don't check the boxes that you're
looking for.

Speaker 5 (07:18):
My gosh, that's sure.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
I like him especially, and if you had a great
date in the personalities match, at some point he'll probably though,
find his back right, he can make more money later.

Speaker 2 (07:32):
Are you sure you're not?

Speaker 3 (07:34):
You know, throw it away?

Speaker 2 (07:36):
A good date?

Speaker 3 (07:39):
I mean I am great date.

Speaker 4 (07:40):
In my opinion.

Speaker 7 (07:43):
I mean it was fun, but like I'm enjoying my twenties,
like I like nice dinners, I like trips. I want
to be taken care of a little bit, like I'm
not pretending I'm in my build together era like maybe later,
but that's not where I am right now.

Speaker 6 (07:56):
That's so fair?

Speaker 2 (07:58):
Do you know?

Speaker 1 (07:58):
There's a list trending online of jobs that pay extremely well,
but people don't realize it, like what like, well, what
does he do for a living?

Speaker 2 (08:06):
D what do you do for a living? I was
looking for frantically, Steve, what do you do for a living?

Speaker 4 (08:11):
I work as an emergency management consultant, so I held
out after hurricanes and stuff like that.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
Wow, Wow, that's a tough job.

Speaker 5 (08:18):
It's really important work, kind of like a hero.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
Well.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
Number one on this list is septic tank installation and
repair six figures, do you know? And she talked about
six figures, so if she was dating somebody goes, yeah,
fixed toilet, says septic tanks, you should be like, oh,
that's great.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
Six figures though.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
Gross fiber optic, cable splicing, certified wastewater treatment operator, electric
pole climber, aircraft mechanic, the retired plumber, nuclear station security guards.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
All those guys make over six figures.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
If you deal with pooh water, you must be making bad.

Speaker 6 (08:51):
The guys that are on the lines too. It's like
there's it's such a dangerous job. That is like, of
course you got to pay the big bucks.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
Can this coaches for Serena, casino dealers, elevator technicians, they
all make six figures.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
Dealer's made that, Well, that's cool.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
This guy shoots birds at an airport. He makes one
hundred and sixty thousand dollars a year. Jesuz, what is
that's your job? I wonder if flight path Jarl would
you date it?

Speaker 2 (09:16):
Would you date him?

Speaker 8 (09:17):
Care?

Speaker 1 (09:17):
If you met a guy and he goes, I shoot
birds at the airport, you'd be like, no, I'm not
dating Oh I make one hundred and sixty thousand.

Speaker 7 (09:22):
I need well, I mean it's not just the money,
Like that sounds kind of horrifying, Like I don't really
want to date someone who's like killing things. I don't
care how much money they make. That's not the point,
like I just listen. I know what I want and
Steven's great, but that's I'm not interested in taking it further.
Like I don't want to waste his time, you know.

(09:42):
I don't want to lead him on or something. Yep.

Speaker 5 (09:45):
Okay, okay, some people just don't fit.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
That's no second date update, no second day for you, Steven.

Speaker 4 (09:51):
No, that's that's that's more than okay. I don't want
um dating body. That's only for money. Anyways.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
It's a good move, all right, Thank you both for
jumping on there with us.

Speaker 4 (09:59):
Appreciate it alright.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
That second day of Update twenty twenty six, you guys
