Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ali, good morning, Good morning. You got a comment about
second date update. I do so.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Something really similar with like the bathroom situation happened to
me on one of my first dates. But I ended
up marrying the guy.

Speaker 3 (00:15):
So because of the bathroom situation.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
No, So my husband has like he's allergic to glueposts
and we got mac and cheese on our first date
and he ended up going to the bathroom for quite
a while and I thought I got stuck with the bill,
and so I texted him. I was like, should I
hit the bill and he's like, no, no, I'm coming.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
I'm coming, And now you're married.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
Yeah, that's a funny story.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
Now that's a great story. Well thanks for sharing it
with us.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
Yeah, disfigured. It does work out for some people.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
Sure does. Thank you. It's John Jay and Rich, So
our phone numbers eight seven seven nine seven four seven,
chill out on the dizzy. Things not happened for four
more minutes, so we will make the announcement and shortly.
But right now. The announcement is there's a video posted
on John Jay and Rich on Instagram that I posted
maybe half hour ago, and I was reading the comments

(01:10):
and somebody said, this is the video I didn't know
I needed today.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
And the video is surprise guest shows up in the
elevator and you go look at it. It's a John
Jay and Rich. But that surprised guest is in our studio.
It's none other than former jj R employee Grant. Inmate,
what's up, hot dogs?

Speaker 4 (01:29):
You see all of you. What a beautiful news studio
you have. This is all so, you know, well organized
and put together.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
Good job, Hoyes.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
This is our pivot studio, Grant, our pivot studio. It's
really cool. It's not the main studio. It's the one
we're in until they fix ours.

Speaker 4 (01:41):
For all the listeners at home, the main studio looks
like a disaster right now, like it did before they
started to.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
Thanks for having me, guys.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
I'm just here to promote my upcoming gig on November fifteenth.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
I'll be playing with Jim Glyn's Heroes and no other band.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Yeah. In fact, that's November fifteenth for Tuccio Farms starts
at four. Starts as four the Rich Bear Bands performing
Fits in the Tantrumps, performing gym class heros. It's all free.
You know, we asked that you bring a donation and
then Grant's gonna be out mingling meeting people. Oh totally.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Hey, I've seen your drum stuff that they're using for
your Grant.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
It's awesome.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
I heard.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
It's really nice.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
It's awesome.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
Excited to play.

Speaker 4 (02:19):
I'm just excited to be loud and be around you guys,
you know, around people.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
So now, Grant, we go on at six, so I
need you there by six.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
I can't make it till eight. So just an update
on Grant. Grant left here because he got a really
cool job. I did. So you worked here for I
think it was like fourteen years you worked on the show,
about twelve years. Twelve years you worked on this show.
Then you went to another job. How long did that last?

Speaker 4 (02:39):
About two and a half months.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
And now you're on your other job. How long did
the other job? Yeah, I got a new job.

Speaker 4 (02:46):
I just started two weeks ago.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
No, this is my second week. Yeah, I'm my second
week right now. Yeah, I'm like reluctant.

Speaker 4 (02:55):
It's one of those things where I'm reluctant to tell
everybody it's a really cool job. But I'm also just
like I want to make sure I'm doing a good
job before I go and like Brager about how.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
Cool it is. Yeah, prop, Yeah, that's that's not a
bad so we won't say what it is, but it
is very cool. It is very cool. I'm a big
fan of where you work right now. Yeah, And I
think this is the perfect gig for Granted too. Yeah,
so fun.

Speaker 5 (03:14):
I feel like any gig can be the perfect gig
for Grant. Like, Grant's had like ten thousand different lifetimes,
that's true.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
One lifetime she did security at Target, remember that, which
is because I've never met salesman. I've never met something
least observant than Grant. That's like sines.

Speaker 5 (03:30):
Let's not forget Grant picked up dead bodies off the throat.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
At shoe Compler.

Speaker 4 (03:35):
Yeah, dude, I mean, you know, honestly, but I have
told everybody this. The twelve years I spent on this
show was my professionally speaking and personally was the best
twelve years I've had as a as.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
An adult person.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
What about you, aside from like eleven bad years, Like,
did you guys know that Grant worked at a TV
station selling commercials for local news.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
That was about three months. That was bad. So this
is the longest he's ever been employed.

Speaker 4 (04:01):
Yes, yeah, you guys, you guys broke the record. The
Funer Home was number one, and then John Jaye Rich.
Now we are the top of the list, top of
the list, guys.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
Well, we're glad you popped in this morning. In fact,
you'll be hearing Grant and Nick on our afterwards podcast.
Is that today? Ye? Does that drop it today? Yea yeah. Yeah.
So you go wherever you hear a podcast and you
can look for John Jamidge. Afterwards, Nick and Grant interview
somebody famous.

Speaker 4 (04:22):
It's not a good interview by the way, guys, just
like if anybody's hanging their hat on going to listen
to that.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
Later we get literally got caught off.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
They were like, no, we're done with you guys. Thanks,
are you serious?

Speaker 3 (04:32):
Like, first of all, the dude totally railroaded us.

Speaker 4 (04:34):
We got to ask like three questions total, and then
when we got ready for the last one, they were.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
Like, yeah, guys, we gotta go, We got we gotta
wrap with that prop.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
Who was it?

Speaker 4 (04:45):
Ron Stroman? Somebody what from where the wwe? But now
he has a show where he eats food on the
USA Network.

Speaker 3 (04:52):

Speaker 1 (07:23):

Speaker 5 (07:24):
You're off to a great start, but you do have

Speaker 6 (08:27):
My gosh, I do know the right answer.

Speaker 1 (08:29):
Okay, okay, but first, Jessica, what do you gotta do?
What are you doing today where you're on your way
to wear I'm on my way to work.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
I just picked up a Starve's.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
Where do you work?

Speaker 3 (08:41):
I work at a bank. I work at a bank.

Speaker 1 (08:44):

Speaker 1 (08:46):
Which Starbucks? Which Starbucks should go to? What street? Where
are you part of town? I live on the east side.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
I live off of like baseline.

Speaker 1 (08:54):
There's a there's a Starbucks right here on the corner. Okay,

them words, you get the trip to Disneyland. Okay, I'm

the line, we get all your information. Hold on the line. Now,
we do it again tomorrow at the exact same time.

(09:54):
But you got to start well, you gotta keep listening.
But the next keywords at ten twenty right, then eleven, twelve, twenty,
all the way through.

Speaker 3 (10:01):
I did not suspect so much suspense on that particular thing.
So exciting, so exciting.

Speaker 1 (10:07):
Man, that's crazy. Okay, so what have we said we're
gonna be after this? Oh yeah, hold on, okay, hold
hold on, We'll get a different music. The reason I
bring that up the way I did is because just
to let you know that we are not AI. We
are real people, real people, human beings that make mistakes,
lots and lots of For example, we let Grantly the building. Grant,

(10:30):
you should have never left. Thanks, guys, it's very sweet
of you.

Speaker 4 (10:33):
But you, guys, this is really cool to hear, like
a radio show, like you know, as a guest, this
is really exciting.

Speaker 1 (10:38):
You guys are really good at radio.

Speaker 3 (10:40):
Did you not listen when you were here at all
fourteen years doing this?

Speaker 1 (10:43):
Like big time? I love it.

Speaker 5 (10:46):
I'd do to get bad if I show this. But Grant,
literally we're having our meeting and he's like, it's kind
of crazy. I'm at my new job and they asked
me to do something, and normally, like when I was here,
you'd asked me to do something. I was like, yeah, okay,
we noticed that.

Speaker 3 (11:01):
Yeah, we're not good managers. We don't ask for It's.

Speaker 4 (11:07):
A lot easier to do your job when somebody asked
you to do it than it is to just like
put it on the back burner and just wait to see.

Speaker 3 (11:13):
If that time bless you.

Speaker 1 (11:15):
You have taught me that you're a great teacher. Okay,
I have this question for the room, and grant centce
you're here. I want to go around the room and
see how you guys answer this question. This is from
a magazine called Psychology Today, and Rich was a psychology
major in school, so I almost want to eliminate you
from the game, but maybe not. Okay, Okay, think about

(11:35):
if you were in this situation You're on the freeway,
which Peyton's happening many times, where you're on the freeway
rush hour and a car comes up behind you blowing
your horn, blowing their horn and flashing their lights. Would
you assume it was an emergency and let them go
around you, or you just think what a jerk and
not let them buy you. What would you do? Rich?

Speaker 3 (11:54):
I would assume it was an emergency, and I would
probably pull over the right and let them pass.

Speaker 1 (11:58):
Me on the left, Peyton, I would probably at first
think what's this jerk doing?

Speaker 3 (12:02):
And then I would move over because I'm like, oh,
it's probably an emergency.

Speaker 1 (12:04):
H Kyle.

Speaker 5 (12:05):
I would get all nervous and I'd be like, go
go just.

Speaker 3 (12:07):
Pass me, like goo, get over.

Speaker 1 (12:08):
Oh.

Speaker 3 (12:09):
You also might think there's something wrong with your car, Nick,
I'm sorry, you've been gone a long time.

Speaker 4 (12:21):
I would assume emergency or murderers.

Speaker 1 (12:24):
Those are my thoughts. All right, So if you answer
this at home or you're driving right now, there's an
actual right answer or tells you if you let them
buy you still believe people are generally good people. If
you don't, you believe that most people can't be trusted.
So there you go, I.

Speaker 3 (12:40):
Get is that right or wrong? I mean, if you
believe most people can't be trusted, are you wrong? Necessarily?

Speaker 5 (12:45):
I'm surprised because I generally don't trust people.

Speaker 3 (12:48):
Yeah, I mean, people have got.

Speaker 5 (12:49):
My answer to tell you other way that. I mean,
I do think people are generally good, but I also
don't trust anyone.

Speaker 3 (12:55):
That's fair. I also think it depends on the car.

Speaker 4 (12:57):
If it's like a nineteen ninety three Grand Pontiac and
pre flashing their lights. I'd probably be like, oh, this
guy is unhinged, right, you know what I mean.

Speaker 5 (13:05):
But it's like a new car might even have more emergencies.
You know, you can't judge a car.

Speaker 1 (13:13):
Bytes cover a little question about humanity for the day.
