Speaker 1 (00:00):
Don Jae Rich Hi, Ashley, Hi, what's going on?
Speaker 2 (00:04):
So when my fiance proposed we got engaged in January,
he made this whole plan to take us. We love
skiing and snowboarding, so he took us up to Snowball
and Flagstaff. He had this whole plan to bring like
his family with him so they could be there to
take pictures and stuff. And he was a nervous wreck.
So we all went up like a run with him
(00:24):
and his sister's his mom. We went down and his
mom's like, Okay, it's time to do it. They planned
like this hole elaborate We're going to go up this
very scenic slope. We're all going to go down and
take pictures at the bottom. And I'm sitting there like
trying to understand why they're planning it so thoughtfully, and
I'm just like whatever. Well, apparently we get up the
(00:45):
other We get up the new slope and we're going down.
Him and his mom kind of meet in the middle
of the slope. She passes him the ring and we're
all kind of doing our thing. I had stopped because
I hadn't seen them. I was like, where are they?
And they're up above me. And I see them flow
down because they're so excited they're flying down the slope
and they clip each other's snowboard and his mom falls
(01:06):
to the ground and breaks her pelvish and she can't
get up and move, and so we had to like
wait for the little emergency like fled to come and
get us. They take her down. We're waiting for an ambulance,
and his family's like, let's just do one more run,
and I'm like a pulled I'm like, absolutely not. We're
not going anywhere. Your mom is in a gurney and
(01:29):
I'm not going on another run. So sister finally convinces me.
He takes me down to like the bottom of the
slope and just does it really quick. They take a picture,
and I'm like an emotional rat because I'm like, your
mom is like waiting for an ambulance. I just got engaged.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
Such a mad to you on that. Does he do
it like right off the lift or right when you
come down from the slope?
Speaker 2 (01:54):
It was what So he finally did the proposal after
we had all like skied her down waiting out the
bottom for an ambulance, and he was like, let's just
walk down this little hill. We'll do one more little
like run down the bunny hill. And I was like, okay,
I guess, but.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
Is his mom like, go do it? Just go slip
because she knew right, so she was like, go go
ski just please, I'll wait for the ambulance by myself,
like she's trying to get it.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
Yeah. His so, his one sister, both of his sisters
were there, so his one sister was like, I'll see
his mom. You guys just go have fun, and then me,
him and his other sister went to go like pretend
run down another hill, and his mom's like, go, yeah,
just like have fun, like one more, have the best time.
And I'm just like, you guys are psycho, but what.
Speaker 1 (02:37):
Like that's so funny that everybody's in on it, even
the woman going on the ambulance. Yeah, and they just
want you to get your proposal done. So he proposed.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
They're literally so sweet.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
So he proposes, does he get down one knee and
say will you marry me? And you say yet does
it all come together at the end when you see
the proposal?
Speaker 2 (02:53):
They did. We had the funniest video. Like I said,
I was like the most emotional wreck ever and so
I see him like starting to give his little spiel,
and I'm like, oh, I know what's going on right now,
and I'm like freaking out because his mom is like broken,
and I'm like worried about her. And then I see
what he's doing and I just like was crying the
whole time. I was like, this is not going to
(03:14):
be a very picturesque proposal because I'm just like ugly
Kim Kardashian crying. But it was still beautiful. He still
had like the most meaningful words to say to me,
and it was so cute. But it was definitely like
rollercoaster of events.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
Why they didn't collectively go we should probably wait because
they all.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
Love her so much, so like they just wanted to.
I was going to say that, like I feel like
most families would probably worry about the mom and be like, hey,
let's hold off on this, but they really wanted her
a partisan you been married now.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
We just got married two weeks ago.
Speaker 3 (03:50):
And is your mother in law she okay? Was she
able to like walk down the aisle or she's still
hurting from the break.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
Yeah she's good now, Thank goodness. She was. I think
for three months she was literally like on bed rest.
She couldn't really get up. It's not a way to
stabilize that area of your body. So they're like, you
just need to not move. So she had to sit
in a chair basically for like three to four months,
and she healed. But she's she's amazing now, she's walking great.
(04:17):
Like it was a little bit of a road to recovery.
But yeah, I definitely felt the love. They were like,
it's not about us, it's about you guys. But I
didn't know that, so I was like, what are you
guys talking about? What was going on?
Speaker 1 (04:27):
Well, congratulations Ashley, what a great story. Proposal gone wrong,
but gone right. Proposal gone wrong for the.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
Mother alone, gone right in the long run for sure.
Thanks for listening, Yes, thank you having to day
