Speaker 1 (00:00):
Our phone number eight seven seven ninety three seven one
(00:02):
oh four SEVENN. The text line text JJR Whatever's on
your mind ninety six eight ninety three. So my wife
had a procedure a week ago today, he directed me, right,
so she's not supposed to be moving around or anything
for a while.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
She's doing great, by the way.
Speaker 1 (00:15):
But so the other day I went to go get
some subscriptions for her because of her meds and stuff.
And then it's a there's a CBS and there's a
safeway next door, and I wanted to get some.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
Stuff that's the safe way for me, like grapes and stuff.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
Right, So as I'm walking in outside the safeway, they
got to Saint Mary's Food Bank that's looking for donations, right,
and they got so you know, when the grocery store
has two huge doors on either side of the safe
way and there's four people outside each door with boxes
collecting money, and I'm collecting food for Saint Mary's Food Bank.
And I walk in and I go, you know, and
they have a big sciences. We need your turkeys. It's like,
(00:49):
I know, donate a turkey. And I was like, if
I'm going through the safeway and I come up because
I just wanted grapes. But if I happen to see
a turkey, I'll grab one. I'm not gonna go out
of my way to get a turkey, right. Meanwhile, I'm
pushing my cart and then over the loudspeaker the safe way.
It's like a donation to register five bubble. I'm like
(01:10):
the hell, and then I'm pushing my cart.
Speaker 2 (01:12):
Don'tnation you registered to?
Speaker 1 (01:14):
Like, oh man, there must be people dropping off the
turkeys at the register getting down of gobble. I kind
of want to gobble gobble. So I pushed and I
see a bin with a bunch of turkeys. So I
grab a turk turkeys like fifteen bucks and I was like,
oh I got this turkey, Like oh you get two turkeys.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
I got two turkeys.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
And I'm like I can't wait to get my gobble
gobble right, So I'm pushing dude thing and the donation.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
Register all right?
Speaker 1 (01:37):
So I get in register five. I'm standing registered five.
There's a lady in front of me. She's got no turkeys.
So she goes to pay, and I see the lady
in the register go.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
Donatetion you REGID five. I'm like what gifts. She didn't
have a turkey, whyould get a gobble gobble? Right?
Speaker 1 (01:53):
So I'm like all right, So now that lady leaves
and I start putting my stuff through the register. Two
turkeys go through, no gobble gobble, and I finally I said,
what's with the gobble gobble? And she goes, oh, would
you make a donation? She goes, Saint Mary's food bank
is outside, Saint Vincent de Paul is in here, so
if you make a donation to Saint Vincent de Paul,
(02:14):
we give you the gobble gobble. And then she holds
up this card that has QR codes on it and
one is like a one dollar five dollars in custom
and she goes, would you like to make a donation
to say he's a Paul? And I'm like, now, I'm
like guilty. I'm already focused on Saint Mary's. But I'm like,
I can't say no to charity like that, right, So
I was like, yeah, sure, I'll do five dollars. So
she does her little radar thing beep and it just
(02:35):
goes to my bill. Right, So now it's and then
she goes, don't be shod. Yeah, So then it's time
to pay. So when I pay with a little thing,
you slide the thing through it says, would you like
to make a donation? One dollar? Five dollars? Customer, I go,
what's this for? She goes, same thing, Saint Visita Paul.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
I go, what gifts? I just gave you five dollars.
Now you're hit me again. I go.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
I feel like if I say no, then it's going
to go like into the computer file, into heaven that
I said no to a charity donation, and I'm like,
I gotta give.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
I'm like, so I go boop.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
I go a dollar, right, don't need to make a
big deal out as a dollar. I just it's from
my own karma.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
I got two. Goa.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
Everyone's staring at the register now, so I walk out
through the safe way. I go left, and there's the
Saint Mary's Food Bank people right now. I parked over
by CVS, which is way to the left. I give them.
I go, hey, I got a turkey for you. They go,
thanks to the turkey. I go, I got two turkeys
for you. So I get two turkeys.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
I go thanks.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
Then I realized over easy the breakfast restaurant is way
on the right and Blake had ordered food for me
to pick up for her. So I got my shopping
car full of food and I'm like, I'm just gonna
push my cart over to over Easy.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
I'm gonna get my steps in.
Speaker 1 (03:49):
I parked on the other side right, so I start
pushing my cart through and I got to pass the
other Safeway door and they're.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
Like, would you like to make a donation to say Mary's?
Speaker 3 (03:56):
But I just gave it.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
Give you two turkeys over there?
Speaker 4 (04:00):
Say what?
Speaker 1 (04:01):
And I pushed And then the second guy standing by,
leaning against the pillar, he just looks at me with
a smirk, and I'm like, looking at him, we just
make eye contact us. I'm pushing the cart and I
want to be like I'm in my head, I'm like,
I gave you freaking two turkey. So I go to
over Easy and I get the food for Blake. Now
I got to push the cart all the way back
by those people. So the second guy, the guy that
was leaning against the wall, I'm pushing the cart. He
looks at me and he goes, would you like to
(04:22):
make it? I gave you two turkeys? Two turkeys over there?
Speaker 2 (04:25):
I go over there. You guys got to communicate pretty stressed.
Give me all kuinds of stress here, man. So I
pushed back again, going by the other.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
Like the same lady that I gave the two turkeys,
who says, would you like to make a donation to
Say Mary's?
Speaker 2 (04:37):
I said, are you serious? I handed you two turkeys.
We made eye contact.
Speaker 3 (04:43):
This is so stressful for you.
Speaker 2 (04:44):
I was so stressful for me.
Speaker 3 (04:45):
Like you should have heard what happened to register fied
a few minutes.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
I got you gobble gobble, like if there's a gobble gobble,
I gave you two turkeys that do gobble gobble anyway.
Speaker 5 (04:56):
Then I gets in my car a double double gobble gobble.
Speaker 3 (05:00):
We should also say St. Saint Mary's is amazing with
the Saint Vincient Apolo.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
Great, but I think I think you got to pick one.
I don't think they shote you it too. It's stressful.
It's like a charity scam. They're going to good reasons,
they're going to good causes, but the stress, like I
don't want to say no, and then you have to
say no to these people.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
They need to communicate more.
Speaker 3 (05:22):
Listen, your gobble gobble, you're double gobble gobble. I'm sure
made it all the way to Heaven.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
I hope, so because that's why I do what I
do to go to heaven. You had a friends giving yesterday?
How was that?
Speaker 5 (05:32):
Yeah? It was good.
Speaker 4 (05:33):
It was actually the complete opposite of like stressful Thanksgiving vibes.
So the original plan was that we were all gonna
like cook and we were all going to do a
different little dish whatever, and with our booked and busy schedules, like,
it was just almost impossible. So we decided to do
friends giving. But we did it at like a restaurant,
and I highly recommend because time is money, people. Our
(05:54):
check was probably just as much as what it would
be for us to buy the ingredients for everyone and
then all of the time that it would take us
to cook.
Speaker 5 (06:01):
Highly recommend. We went to Cooper's Hawk and it.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
Oh, yeah, fantastic. That place is stellar.
Speaker 5 (06:07):
Yeah, we got a couple of bottles of wine. We
all had good food.
Speaker 4 (06:10):
It was really nice though, Like before food came out,
there was a It was a group of nine of us,
so it was four couples and then my one single
friend and we all went around the table talked about
like what we were thankful for, and it was just
like such a special time and we've never done that before.
Speaker 5 (06:25):
So I think we started a new tradition and.
Speaker 3 (06:27):
I love it.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
So nine people, how much did it costed? Who paid?
Speaker 4 (06:30):
Oh? We all we did, couple like, so our tap
was one fifteen before tip for you.
Speaker 2 (06:37):
But what about the single person? Did you guys have
to break down?
Speaker 5 (06:39):
Ask her?
Speaker 2 (06:40):
So she had to pay one to fifteen and also no,
we like.
Speaker 4 (06:43):
They had their own ta We didn't do.
Speaker 5 (06:46):
It in like in total, No, we did it.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
That's smart too, by couple, that's smart too, because if
you do the drinks with that many people, that could
get pretty price exactly because.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
If you're doing it at your house, everyone would make
it together and everyone bring their own ingredients or whatever, and that's.
Speaker 2 (06:59):
How you do it.
Speaker 4 (06:59):
You know, we would like you would cook at your
own house and then bring it to wherever we were hosting.
Speaker 5 (07:03):
But it was so it was seriously.
Speaker 3 (07:06):
Such a good Thanksgiving food there? Or did you just
do whatever?
Speaker 5 (07:09):
They have a special Thanksgiving menu but I got speedy.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
Okay, you don't want Thanksgiving?
Speaker 5 (07:14):
I really yeah, I.
Speaker 4 (07:15):
Don't really care for it, but highly recommend skip the cooking.
Speaker 3 (07:19):
Go to a restaurant like Thanksgiving that's strong.
Speaker 1 (07:24):
But I keep I keep thinking about wicked, you know,
because I saw it the other day. In fact, I
went and I was on the treadmill working out yesterday
and I listened to Define Gravity. Then I go to
Apple Music and I look for different version because the
talking throws me off right, So I could have. Didn't
Demi Levado do Defining Gravity?
Speaker 5 (07:42):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (07:43):
I know the other like big Defying Gravity cover is
from Glee.
Speaker 5 (07:46):
You should listen to it.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
I found that one.
Speaker 1 (07:48):
There's even a Keith Urban one, really really Keith Urban
does Jimmy Buffett does Defying Gravity.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
Well, it doesn't make any sense.
Speaker 1 (07:54):
I didn't hear the versions I just saw, but I
was looking for the Demi Levado one. I swore I
was listening to it a couple of days ago.
Speaker 2 (07:59):
Probably a really good Diana Menzel one.
Speaker 1 (08:01):
No, I've heard that one too. I download that and
that was great. So you Demi didn't do it. We
never played a Demi Levado Defining Ground that I never
talked about it.
Speaker 5 (08:07):
I know she did let it go, but I don't think.
Speaker 1 (08:10):
I don't know if she did defy that where she
did the value. But anyway, I couldn't find it, So
maybe I just.
Speaker 4 (08:14):
Maybe that's where you're getting mixed up, because Adida Menzel
did Let It Go, and Demi Levado did that cover,
and Adiina Menzel is the o g Alpaba.
Speaker 3 (08:21):
Demi Levado saying define gravity at her thirty third birthday
party in a curioses what it was?
Speaker 2 (08:27):
We fight that on the air? Okay, see I'm not crazy,
but not about that Vado sing that song.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
There are two Wizard of Oz horror movies on the way,
which I thought Wizard of Oz was a horror movie,
it kind is. The first was called Gail Yellow Brick Road.
It hits theaters February eleventh, and this one, Dorothy is
an old lady and her granddaughtersvered the Secret of Oz,
which has become a terrifying playground for malevolent forces beyond
her imagination. There's a trailer already on YouTube. The second
(08:58):
one is called Dorothy The Haunting of Oz.
Speaker 5 (09:00):
Oh my gosh, do you think they'll like remake the original?
Speaker 1 (09:03):
It follows a group of college basketball players on Halloween
night who are attacked by terrifying versions of Dorothy company,
as well as serial killer clowns.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
What don't like it. What that seems It seems like
the Sharknado horror version.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
Well, they're capitalizing on the wicked stuff man,
