Speaker 1 (00:00):
Over the weekend it was Halloween, and as I was
going through everyone's social media on the show, I saw
Kyle in this glamorous outfit and I was like, Wow,
where are you? Where were you?
Speaker 2 (00:12):
So I was invited to MC for the second year
in a row. The Hushaby Nursery like fundraising gala and like,
Hushaby is such an incredible organization that when they asked me,
I was like, oh my gosh.
Speaker 3 (00:24):
Absolutely.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
They take care of babies who are born into withdrawal
because of the opioid epidemics, So babies are born in
withdrawal from these drugs that they were exposed to in
the womb. And what's really cool about Hushby is they
actually work to keep the parents with the babies, so
they help the parents with their recovery and like all
of the resources they need to start this new life
(00:45):
with their kids. And it's like it's been working with
like incredible numbers. And so when I knew I had
to m see this event, I was like, I don't
really I don't have a lot of fancy clothes because
like we wear jeans and T shirts in.
Speaker 3 (00:58):
The air at work.
Speaker 2 (00:59):
So I was like, I gotta find something to wear,
and Peyton and I had just done our try it
Tuesday and we were in the area of Last Chance,
which I hadn't been in a really long time. And
it's such a gem because you can find such great
deals in there that I'm like, I'm gonna go check
that out and see.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
If I can find you saved.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
Last Chance? What is that?
Speaker 2 (01:17):
Last Chance is like like what norserom Rack is to Northrum.
Speaker 3 (01:23):
It's the norserom Rack of northchrim Rack. Okay, gotcha. So
it's like.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
The discounted stuff from there that doesn't get sold and
like guys and girls, and it's like discounted super heavily.
And so I went there and they were having a
fifty percent off blue tag sale. So I start going
through the formal dresses and they have shoes on sale
and all things. So I'm like, okay, I'm gonna try
all these on. So I do, and I find this
(01:47):
dress and I feel like it fits almost perfectly, and
it's only eight dollars. What a steal.
Speaker 3 (01:55):
It was sixteen dollars, but I had blue tags. It
was fifty percent off.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
What do you think it was? Before I went to
Norchen Wreck, Oh, I could see.
Speaker 3 (02:03):
This dress being over well over one hundred dollars, maybe
two hundred dollars at least. Yeah, So I was like.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
You got to be kidding me. The straps are a
little long, which is the problem. So I'm like, you
know what I feel like, for eight bucks, I can
sew this thing.
Speaker 3 (02:16):
And if I ruin the dress it was eight dollars.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
Sure.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
So I start, you know, googling tutorials on how to
alter your own dress without a sewing machine because I
don't have a sewing mach.
Speaker 3 (02:27):
This okay.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
So we did that on Wednesday or Thursday, Thursday, Thursday, Thursday,
and then I didn't have time to really do anything
to it because of course Friday was Halloween. So Saturday,
the day of the event, I'm googling the tutorials on
how to do it, and I'm like, I think I
can do this, But as I'm preparing my day and
(02:49):
taking care of the kids and getting ready and all
the things, I don't have time to sew it before
I leave. And I said, you know what, I'm doing
this in the car.
Speaker 3 (02:58):
Riscie.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
We up in the car wearing start driving. No, I'm
not wearing. I'm wearing sweats, and I have the dress.
It's inside out because that's what the tutorial said to do,
and I start sewing it right, and it's really bumpy,
so it's as if I don't have like control of
my own hands, like sewing one, threading the needle and
(03:19):
putting it in, and I'm like, you know what I.
Speaker 3 (03:22):
Should have done.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
Meanwhile, we've been driving for ten minutes already, maybe fifteen.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
I was like, I should have brought a backup dress
just in case I did not. I did not because
I was determined to make this happen.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
So I'm sewing all the way up until literally we
pull into the event.
Speaker 3 (03:40):
But I did it. I put the.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
Dress inside out, I get changed in the car, I
step out of the car, I'm halfway dressed. Scott zips
the dress up and we walk into the event.
Speaker 3 (03:53):
Like a million bucks.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
Rich On Instagram you can see this. It's unbelievable.
Speaker 3 (04:01):
No, it turned out all right.
Speaker 2 (04:02):
I mean, if you if you look up close where
the straps are, you can you can tell a professional
did not do that.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
The pictures have posted. You can't. Your hair goes.
Speaker 3 (04:14):
That was strategic.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
If you did it, touch the dress and you were
just wearing it overalls.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
No, okay, So when I put it on, it was
like I would have to you know what, pulling up
the straps are too long. It was like, yeah, it's
like the boobs are sagging like it's like it's just
not great.
Speaker 3 (04:33):
That doesn't look like it fits, says who says, But
you guys, it worked out.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
And if you need any seamstress, yeah, you can call.
Speaker 3 (04:44):
Me in the car.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
That's pretty impressive. Pretty impressive.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
I really should have wroughte a back up, but I
you know, then I would have had the backup and
I wouldn't have been so determined.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
Oh. Someone just texted, if you don't know how to
sell Kyle, they sell sticky hem tape.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
I didn't think the stick I actually have him tape,
but I didn't think it would be strong enough. You
got to hold these over, you know, I need a
over the shoulder boulder holder and address. Okay, we needed strength.
We needed the strength of I do know how to
sew a little bit. I just don't own a sewing machine.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
The pictures are up on our Instagram, John Jay and
Rich
