Speaker 1 (00:00):
A couple of weeks ago, there was a story in
(00:01):
the news.
Speaker 2 (00:01):
They'd got national news, and I tried to get a
hold of the people involved in the story because it
was involved our city. It was about a restaurant and
I think some people broke into the restaurant and then
they like got it on. Yeah, like they did it
and it was all over their security cameras and anyway,
the owner of the restaurant is now on the phone.
(00:23):
Her name is Alexi. The restaurant's mon Cherie high LEXI.
Hi there, Okay, so this was national news, wasn't it.
Speaker 3 (00:30):
Yeah, actually kind of international. We're on the the Daily
UK news too.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
Oh well, congratulations. Could you recap the story for us
exactly what happened?
Speaker 3 (00:40):
Yeah, So late October I received a phone call from
my server like eight am, and she was really frazzled,
and she's like, I think seventy broke into the restaurant.
All the registers are broken. It looks like one of
the side doors is broken. So I have about fifteen
different cameras on the property. So I pulled the tapes
immediately and I could get in the house, but I
couldn't really see them because like the guy was wearing
(01:01):
a mask and it was dark, so I couldn't see anything,
and I pulled the tape closest to our heart activation
out front. We're on First Avenue off of Goldwater in
Old Town and we have a heart activation outfront that's
like pictures for Instagram, and you can't see from the
outside of the street. You can't see in the heart,
and so they took off their masks at that area.
(01:22):
They didn't think I had a camera there, and they
were kind of looking around the property. And then she
entered the heart in a downward dog position and we
went in behind her, and then he then proceeded to
eat some shifts. They then got into the side of
the property. They hadn't given the access yet, so they
did the deed first in the romantic area up front,
(01:44):
and then they went in through my rose garden, which
is one hundred and eighty degree like Rose Tunnel, and
they broke into my side door. He got about seven
hundred dollars cash, the bottle of the cardie and my iPhone.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
Side which was my host phone.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
They didn't make out with a lot, and then we
went viral with the real and the citizens of Scotts still.
I mean, we found her within probably twenty four hours.
She's very remarkable, which is super exciting. And then they
arrested her her I think a week later, in him
about ten days later, and they're both in the county jail.
So they're going to be tried on third degree charges.
(02:18):
And we're just so grateful that we caught them so
quickly and the city come together so fast.
Speaker 4 (02:23):
Well, hang on a second, Lexie, are there charges like
making love in public? Is that part of the charge
or is it just for saying.
Speaker 3 (02:29):
Sexual Unfortunately, the amorous activity only caught them. It's not
going to actually face any charges. So that was a
little bit of a bummer, but it did make national
news and we caught them, which was like the most
important thing. I run a very business, very woman focused business,
and we just we can't stand for that. There run
(02:51):
a very very tight shit and I told everybody, I'm like,
this is just not going to happen here were We're
going to find you, We're going to catch you, and
you're going to get caught. And they did.
Speaker 2 (02:57):
So was she recognized because of the downward facing dog position,
People were like, oh, we know that booty.
Speaker 3 (03:06):
You know I think it was more of her face.
I didn't get her.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
What a nice girl though she is.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
She's like, hey, we broke in, and she's like, you
know what, let me get in downward facing dog like
that's so, that's so.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
Just you revved up really quick.
Speaker 4 (03:21):
But they they might have gotten away with it if
they didn't stop to make the love in the heart right,
they might have just worked out.
Speaker 3 (03:30):
I had. I'll tell you one really quick too. I
was sitting in my office about a month after the
incident and I had a phone call and a lady
and they said someone's calling about the cameras. And I
had had multiple other phone calls about the cameras because
everyone wanted them caught. So they were telling me who
she was or you know, I want to call. So
I was like, they're either calling about the case or
a completely different, unrelated reason. And the lady gets on
(03:50):
the phone. She's very frantic and she's like, oh, I
was just wondering if you could find this like five
foot eight Mexican man that came into your restaurant on Sunday.
He was, you know, one hundred and fifty five. And
I'm like I knew at that moment I had a
decision to me, because I mean they're public cameras, their mine.
I was like, yes or no, Am I going to
help this woman? And so within about five minutes, I
pulled the tape, found the guy and he was it
(04:11):
was his mistress at Monturie, and I sent her the
thirty second clip and we caught another bad guy. I
was like, I'm so sorry for ruining your life right now,
but my cameras, that's pretty powerful. And we keep saying,
you know, I guess the many messages no no mistresses
at Monturie and no sex on the property.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
That was the wife was calling in to see the
us and the husband was caught with another woman.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
Is that what you're saying?
Speaker 2 (04:37):
He was that is Well, your restaurant's like the restaurant
of love for sure.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
I mean people can't resist. That's cold blooded in those appetites.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
I'm like that crazy town.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
Well, what kind of restaurant is Montourie. I've never been LEXI.
Speaker 3 (04:54):
You know, it's a I've had. I've been open about
nineteen months. I was not originally a restaurant tour. I
was in the beauty industry, got pulled into this industry.
I've had about three hundred chefs in my back of house.
I finally stepped in as an executive chef. So it's
a mix of like modern American like everything. I used
to code as a mom for twenty years and then
all of my time in the Middle East. I spent
a lot of time in Turkey, so I have a
(05:16):
lot of like Mediterranean food. I would say it's like
a fusion of modern American Mediterranean food with a really
awesome Turkish blind And that's a lot to take out,
but it's it's not so much focused. I would say
we have awesome food. We have like pink pancakes, pink
pasta Turkish breakfast.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (05:34):
Yeah, it's just a mix of all sorts of different stuff.
Speaker 2 (05:37):
Actually, are you gonna change any menu items after all
these events?
Speaker 1 (05:40):
Like maybe have the downward.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
Facing dog, yeah, or the you know, the mistress mutton chops.
Speaker 3 (05:50):
We are known for taking hinge profile and tender profile
profile photos in front of the heart Now, so that's
become a thing.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
Oh yeah, you're famous now for that. I think that's amazing.
Speaker 3 (06:01):
Yeah. Yeah, it's going to be the best spot in
feeting for that, and like everybody needs to come get
a photo and try our pink pasta.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
