(00:40):
we weren't here. Normally that doesn't happen, but I had
to go to a funeral. I want to say my aunt,
my aunt died, but it's my aunt did die, but
it was my my uncle's wife. That makes more sense
because she became my aunt later in life. Yeah, yeah, right,
And so in fact check this out. My aunt was
taking care of her mom who had cancer and her
(01:02):
brother who had cancer, and then my aunt got cancer
and died before them, and they were at her funeral.
Isn't that wild?
Speaker 3 (01:10):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:11):
So the funeral was in O'passo, so it was my
whole Mexican side of my family. So I was there yesterday,
and believe it or not, I'm the tallest one in
my family.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
I do believe that.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
And I get to the church with my wife and
there's a bunch of people there and this lady that
runs a church. She comes over to me and we're
there like maybe fifteen minutes before the funeral started. She
just comes over. She's like, could you do me a
favorite please? You're so tall, would you mind lighting this candle?
And there's a huge candle in.
Speaker 3 (01:36):
Front of the church. It's a Catholic church, huge candle,
really high right.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
I'm like, okay, I think if I step on this stair,
I can easily top the candle or problem. She was
following me, so the funeral hasn't started yet because they
need a candle to be lit. So I follow this
woman down the aisle looks so like a wedding. Now
I'm walking down the aisle, everyone turns to look at me,
and I go to where the candle is and then
she leaves and I'm standing there like.
Speaker 3 (02:03):
The funeral has to started.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
She's going to get the lighter, but I'm like, why
didn't you go get the lighter before you got me?
Speaker 3 (02:09):
So I'm standing in front of the box.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
Of ashes, the picture of my aunt, and all these
people in black are staring.
Speaker 1 (02:17):
Part of the procession is like everyone.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
Turned and looked at me and up staying, and I'm like,
and I don't know that because they're mostly her family, right,
there's just a handful of people that are my family.
Speaker 3 (02:27):
I'm like, hey man, I'm just gonna go get the lighter.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
Candle.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
Then she brings out the lighter, she brings out a match,
and she brings out the long thing that short people
use to light the Catholic candle, you know, the long
thing that's got a hook on it and turns and
it's got that And so she hands me that and
then she lights that.
Speaker 3 (02:46):
I could just put my hand on the candle and lighted.
That's how tall am I gone. So she hands me this,
this weird looking golf club. So now I gotta squat down.
I gotta like this candles. People look at me like,
get stup by sound like. I light the candle and
go back. And I kind of like wanted an applause
or something.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
It was but after spending about five six hours, my
from my Mexican family have to tell you a quick
little recap without getting into detail of the stories that
were brought up. One my cousin had an episode with
the cartel last week. My uncle had an episode with
the cartel a month ago. Somebody else in my family's
transitioning from male to female. There was a divorce, there
(03:23):
was domestic abuse, there was alcoholism. Uh, there was a
lesbians Uh. There was four hours of this funeral, is
the information I got. It was crazy.
Speaker 4 (03:36):
Sounds like you.
Speaker 3 (03:39):
Goes off.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
And then I come home and I worked out, and
then nick saends and next hey, man, we're gonna take
a Christmas photo tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
You know what.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
I'm not feeling it anyway.
Speaker 3 (03:52):
Anyway, what about Peyton, So I saw you at a wedding. Yeah,
because I haven't heard you didn't talk about going to
a wedding. I didn't know you were going to a wedding.
Speaker 4 (04:00):
I wasn't invited to the wedding, but I ended up
at the wedding because my sister's plus one wasn't able
to make it. So she called me last second and
was like, I need you to come through for me
and like I'm not to toot my own horn, but
like I am the best plus one to bring to places,
like because you don't need to worry about me, I'll
go and make my own friends.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
I don't want to even hang out with you. Probably,
I just want to go.
Speaker 4 (04:23):
Yeah, Like I seriously feel that way about myself.
Speaker 3 (04:25):
But no, it's true, it's true.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
I remember the party we were at in San Diego,
Like you got to that park.
Speaker 4 (04:32):
Yeah yeah, yeah, So so it was really fun and
we went in. This wedding was like absolutely just stunning,
Like it was beautiful, like something that I've really never
seen before except for at Rich and Stacy's wedding, right,
Like this is like elevated, elevated, but I need you
to tell me. I don't even know if this is
considered etiquette or not or like whatever, but like you guys,
(04:54):
remember at Rich and Stacy's wedding, we had these like
really yummy steaks or like you could order chicken or
whatever or a veggie plate. Right, Well, all of our
stakes come out like medium rare, because like that's the
way I think you're supposed to eat steaks at fancy restaurants.
I'm assuming I don't.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
Recollect.
Speaker 4 (05:11):
That's how they recommend it, right, And so I remember
rich being at you at your wedding, and I remember
being like, oh my gosh, this steak is basically rare.
I like my stake like medium, well like basically kind
of on the well side, right, Yeah, I guess so
sure like a dog too, toy. I guess you could
say that, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. So I'm like sitting
there and I'm trying to like scarf down the steak
(05:31):
at rich In Stacy's wedding, but I wasn't really enjoying
it because I felt like I was literally.
Speaker 1 (05:35):
Eating a live cow. Okay.
Speaker 4 (05:37):
So we go to this wedding and I'm like, okay,
I have steak and I'm pretty sure it is gonna
be cooked the same exact way that it was cooked
at rich In Stacy's wedding. So I like asked the
server that's like helping us. I was like, hey, excuse me.
I was like, do you know how the steaks are
gonna be cooked? And he tells me they're gonna be
medium rare. And I literally looked at him and I
(05:58):
was like, do you think you can ask the chef
if you can make my medium well, and literally everyone
just looked at me like I was crazy, like that
was the worst thing in the world to do.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
But then everybody else at.
Speaker 4 (06:08):
My table got their steak medium well, and we got
our sake and we were the only ones that cleared
our plates.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
Did you get catch up for your show?
Speaker 2 (06:15):
Was that wedding on Thanksgiving? Was that on Thanksgiving the
wedding or no? No, but that's kind of smart to
think about having a wedding on Thanksgiving? Is it smart
that weekend because you have all these family in town?
But then again, all the people are in town, meaning
they can't be with their families.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (06:30):
Was it packed, Yeah.
Speaker 4 (06:32):
There was a lot of people there. There is I
would say there's probably about two hundred tw hundred feet.
It was gorgeous. That wedding was absolutely.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
Absolutely, I did two hundred people fancy wedding. That's going
to be.
Speaker 4 (06:43):
Oh absolutely. I went straight to the wedding venue. I
said how much are per plates?
Speaker 1 (06:47):
And I did all the math. Yeah, because I'm not
like that. How much one forty yep?
Speaker 4 (06:53):
Just about yeah. It was like I gave you, it
was like one thirty to one. When I did my
little research kylegiving.
Speaker 5 (07:01):
My Thanksgiving was interesting.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
It was good.
Speaker 5 (07:03):
My brother hosted, and you know, my whole family was there,
well most of everyone. But Wednesday before Thanksgiving, Easton came
down with like a super high fever.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
It was about one hundred and four.
Speaker 5 (07:14):
So I took him into the mute clinic and they're like, yeah,
he's got struped throat. So he was miserable. Like I'm
not going to bring him around everyone get everyone sick.
So Scott actually stayed home with him.
Speaker 4 (07:24):
So it was weird, like.
Speaker 3 (07:25):
Not having them at Thanksgiving.
Speaker 5 (07:27):
And then Friday happened, and then Scott got sick, and
then Saturday came around, and I'm like I'm still feeling good,
and then Sunday comes around and I'm.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
Like I feel it.
Speaker 3 (07:36):
Yeah, I got it.
Speaker 4 (07:37):
We all I think all that, and.
Speaker 5 (07:38):
Add he's the only one, and I'm like crossing my fingers,
please don't get it. Because like their school has their
Christmas program this week on Wednesday, and she actually has
a speaking part and she's looking forward to it so much.
Speaker 3 (07:49):
So I'm like giving her all the vitamins and like,
don't get this, don't get sick.
Speaker 5 (07:54):
So crush fingers put out the good vibes, and you say.
Speaker 3 (07:56):
Stay healthy, stay healthy.
Speaker 5 (07:58):
That's what I say.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
I say, don't stay sick. Don't get it. I know
I do actually say that. You're I'm like, stay healthy,
don't get this. Good for Thanksgiving?
Speaker 2 (08:06):
For me, it's first time in my thirty eight years
that I was alone on Thanksgiving, not one family member, nothing.
My my wife stayed home with Dutch and Jake because
they Dutch had a basketball tournament. Camp had a basketball
tournament in Hawaii, so that's why I went to Hawaii
to be with Camp. But on Thanksgiving, he was with
(08:26):
his team the whole day, the whole night, the whole day,
the whole whatever. What do you do at eight o'clock
at night? So the plan was he was have dinner
with his team and then he was like that I'll
connect you at six thirty or seven.
Speaker 3 (08:36):
I go great.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
At seven, he was like, hey, we're still here. At
eight he texted me, He's like, I'm so sorry, I'm
still here. And I had like I was. I had
a table on the beach and I was waiting for him,
you know, and I was eating and I say, you bowl,
and I was waiting for him and waiting for him.
Then he go it was like eight thirty because I'm
so sorry, Dan, I'm still here, and he's like, I
can see you at nine.
Speaker 3 (08:53):
I'm like, I'm going to bed.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
So so I went to bed first time my entire life.
Speaker 1 (08:57):
Wow, that was weird.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
But it was also not Thanksgiving, you know what I mean,
Like it didn't feel Thanksgiving me, but I.
Speaker 3 (09:04):
Didn't have turkey at it at Mac Potatoes, I had nothing.
Speaker 4 (09:07):
Oh I bet your kemp, though, was so appreciative because
I remember being back in college and having to be
away from home for Thanksgiving and when my mom came
and saw me, it like made my day. Like even
though I just got to see her, we spent.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
I didn't spend that much time with him, believe it
or not, because he was so busy, but the little
we did have little moments. I pick him up, a good,
grab a bite, you drop him off. But it was
an interesting holiday
