Speaker 1 (00:00):
Peyton's got some going on my phone right now. Apparently
it could be universal, but not sure. Christine, what's going
with your phone?
Speaker 2 (00:08):
Hi?
Speaker 3 (00:09):
So I have a Google Pixel and there's one I
usually delete my small chats, but there's a chat that
goes on with the family chat and my son's chat,
and I needed some information that I knew was from
like twenty twenty four. So when I did the search,
my phone brought me to the chats from the text
messages from twenty twenty three. And then I realized after
(00:33):
searching and searching, the entire year of twenty twenty four
was gone and partial twenty twenty five. And they couldn't
figure out how it happened, because I said, how do
you delete like a whole year? Like it was just gone?
So I thought, well, maybe it'll help. I had to
upgrade anyway, so I upgraded to the Google Pixel nine,
(00:54):
thinking number one. I had to do it anyway. But
even when I upgraded, they came back and they had
no explanation. So I lost a whole year of really
important information and partial twenty five twenty twenty five. It
really sucked.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
It does suck.
Speaker 3 (01:09):
It's a great phone.
Speaker 4 (01:10):
I wonder if something's going on because my wife's iPhone.
She went to my phone and sent her a contact
that she needed from my phone, and then she texted
that contact from her phone and somebody that she didn't
even know she had the number said, Blake, I'm so sorry,
this is Gordon. I don't know what you're talking about,
and goes on and on the ord. Yeah, and I
(01:30):
know the whole thing is weird. Thanks Christine, But Peyton,
that's not what we're talking about. And I'm wondering if
your phone is glitching because I what's going on with
your phone?
Speaker 1 (01:37):
I'll tell you what. Go ahead.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
So well, I actually kind of feel violated by my
phone right now. I feel violated by Apple and my
iPhone and specifically like my Apple music. I feel like
my phone is doing what it did to us when
it downloaded that YouTube album without our Permission's.
Speaker 5 (01:52):
Still salty about that ten years ago.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
As for that, why is that here?
Speaker 2 (01:58):
So if I ever like want to listen to music
before like I get in the shower, if I'm getting
ready or hop in the car, I'll say, hey, Siri,
play music on my iPhone and usually they'll just pop
up like random songs that are cur rated to me
and my vibe in the playlist that I've already created,
and it'll just shuffle them. So yesterday, I'm sitting in
(02:18):
the car and usually, you know, it's like Chapelerone, Olivia Dean,
you know, some Drake Future. And I get up there
and the next song is the song I've never heard,
and it's a Bad Bunny song. So I'm like, okay,
I'm driving. I've never heard this song before, but I
(02:38):
like it. And then I'm just driving as I'm listening
to it, and then I skip the song and it's
another Bad Bunny song, and I'm like, I've never heard
this before. I don't understand what's going on, and so
I'm just driving and then it dawns on me. I'm like, okay,
I know Apple always highlights the Super Bowl performers. I
(02:59):
feel like my algorithm is like force feeding me Bad Bunny.
Speaker 5 (03:05):
Doesn't Apple like sponsor the halftimes, it's their halftime show.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
Yeah, they're sneaking Bad Bunny into my into my playloud,
which I'm not mad at it, but like, let me
become a fan on my own, Like I know, I
know Bad Bunny I'm just not familiar with his music,
and I'm gonna watch the halftime.
Speaker 6 (03:22):
Show, but I feel like they're playing games.
Speaker 5 (03:25):
But yeah, for sure, I mean that's obviously the move. Yeah,
you're just a part of the machine. Now the machine's
working you.
Speaker 4 (03:32):
So they're just highlighting they didn't download the songs and
like the U two thing they downloaded on your phone.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
Yeah, like that's a violation.
Speaker 4 (03:39):
People are so mad at them, but them saying, hey, man,
here's some good music because you went You didn't go
to your library and hit random.
Speaker 1 (03:45):
You went to Apple Music and hit random.
Speaker 5 (03:47):
Correct.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
But usually it'll pull because I have multiple albums that
I have on my phone, so it'll Yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
But I'm not mad at Apple for doing that to you.
Speaker 4 (03:55):
If it would have downloaded the songs on your phone
like the U two thing, that would piss me off.
Speaker 1 (03:59):
But if they learned their lesson with that.
Speaker 4 (04:01):
I mean, look, Taylor Swift dropped her album and I
were highlighting all as much Tayter Swift as we can
because it's good.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
So I totally get what happened.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
To do smart thinking on Apple, but I picked up
on it.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
Yes, Good morning, Angela, what's your phone doing?
Speaker 5 (04:18):
Hi?
Speaker 6 (04:18):
So a couple of years ago, my phone blacked out
and I had had a ton of reminders on it
for like the future, So the future passed things that
I really needed to keep on my on my head
that I would never remember. Apparently iPhones don't back up
to the cloud for reminders, and my phone completely blacked
(04:40):
out one day. And when I finally revived it and
got on the phone with Apple support and talked to him,
they said, you have to spread the word. We didn't
even know that this was an issue, this one agent.
Speaker 3 (04:49):
He's like, I did not know.
Speaker 6 (04:51):
They don't back up to the cloud.
Speaker 5 (04:52):
They reminders don't back up to the cloud. That's wild, no,
because whenever I've switched phones, you know, you get a
new phone and upgrade, the old reminders show up.
Speaker 6 (05:02):
For me they do, but that for some reason, when
my phone crashed and lost all of my contacts and everything,
the contacts came back, but not the reminders.
Speaker 3 (05:13):
I know. It was so horrible, And they.
Speaker 6 (05:14):
Go, You're going to have to write a review to
Apple and tell all your friends and family that have iPhones,
especially to see if Apple will start picking that up
again or to start doing those Okay, thanks Angela.
Speaker 1 (05:29):
Yeah, it's like we're a tech show now, we're the
Speaker 6 (05:36):
Last people to be qualified to talking about tech things.
