Speaker 1 (00:00):
On with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Here we go with Omrio Courtney Lopez, back behind the mind,
Fired up to be hanging with you for the next
few hours, going to catch up with modern families. Aubrey
Anderson Emmons, who played Lily on the show. It's all

Plus, I'm back to school hack in Courtney's corner. I
can't believe it's back to school already. We'll catch you
up on the buzz and we're just a few songs

you guys. You're on with Mario and Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 4 (00:29):
Mario Courney Lopez.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Here music rolls on right after Cordo makes it weird,
though with a random thought, Oh what you gotto?

Speaker 3 (00:35):
Please don't confuse Oh the people driving out.

Speaker 5 (00:39):
So much.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
And we're fired. So this is about shower gel or shampoo,
anything that comes in the bottle in the shower. Do
you think the bottle itself gets sad when it's empty
because it knows that it's going to be thrown away
and replaced by a younger fullerttle, newer bottle.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
No, I've never thought about this, and I don't think
they have any feelings. But I do try to get
the most out of that bottle. I will add water
to it and stretch it out. Yeah, it's the very end.
So we really have our relationship, well, all the way
to the very last draw.

Speaker 5 (01:18):
That's true.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
And you do save a lot of soap because you
don't wash the bottom of your feet.

Speaker 5 (01:22):
God, it is accurate.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
You're crazy. I do the bottom of my toes and
the whole thing.

Speaker 5 (01:26):
Now, now you do your toes.

Speaker 4 (01:28):
No, I do the top of Its crazy? What are more?

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Courtney Lopez here reminding you that our Heart Radio Music Festival,
presented by Capital One is back this September nineteenth and twentieth,

All Mario, Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 4 (02:15):
What are we talking about today, honey?

Speaker 3 (02:16):
So, how to get the perfect first day of school photo?
No doubt, your timeline is already full of back to
school photos already as parents try to capture their little
gremlins as they kick off another school year. So here's
some advice from actual photographers to help parents get the
best first day pick. Okay, so give them options on
the timing, meaning do it a few days before because

(02:38):
the morning of the first day can be hectic and stressful.
You could be late. I know, I'm running late. The
kids are running late, so it might not be an
ideal time to try and force the kids to pose
and smile.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
Our kids have been pretty good about these.

Speaker 3 (02:50):
It happens pretty good.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
But now Gia wants to have photo approval all approval.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
Also, a little bribe can help, Hello, offering them a
new school outfit. Hey, you can have another uniform exactly
for our kids, or a special first day of school
lunchtreet or an after school outing to a favorite arcade
or park. You know, yeah, I'm a bribery parent.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
And you got to do if you have multiple kids
individual and then group shots and they like that, or.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
You just tongue talk, teeth talk and say get your
little glasses out here.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
More. Mario Lopez coming up.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
I'm Mario Courtney Lopez. Music rolls on.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
But you know we all remember that one teacher who
of course made a difference. Well, now's your chance to

Speaker 2 (03:57):
Mario Courtney Lopez was some quick food buzz for you.
McDonald's adult Happy Meals coming back next week.

Speaker 4 (04:02):
Remember those.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
The McDonald land meal includes a quarter pound of cheese
or ten piece chicken McNuggets fries in the new limited
edition Mount McDonaldland shape. It's a blue shake with pink
whipped cream. It all comes in a collectible tin with
Ronald McDonald, Grimace or the Hamburglar on it. There is
a McDonald's literally around the block from us. I have

(04:23):
yet to go to the McDonald's. Have the kids been
off or today.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
I don't like to eat these kind of places. But
we will do an after school run every once in
a while.

Speaker 4 (04:35):
Yeah, once in a while.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
It's not And you know what, shout out to the
playground in there, because there's a playground in there, like
a play unit, and sometimes when we have a babysitter,
she'll just take Sonny there and he'll play for hours
on that thing.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
You hit your head at a McDonald's outdoor around Donald's
playground and I knocked myself out and had to get
stitches on Grimace.

Speaker 5 (04:57):
He woke up. Grimace was treating in his wounds.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
That's you all the employees were. But yes, I'll never
forget that.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
Oh I'm sure they were.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
So we were just talking about McDonald's bringing back the
adult happy meals Mario and Courtney Lopez here, And by
the way, I forgot to mention the McRib is something
that I would get if it was in the Happy seasonal.
It is seasonal. That's maybe why I want to know.

Speaker 5 (05:19):
What season that is? Yeah, McRib season.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
It's the it's fall, it's fall, that's fall food there Anyway.
A Reddit user asked, what's a little kid thing you
refuse to stop doing? Apparently a lot of things have
stuck with us. What are some of the responses, Honey,
playing with legos? Never was a big lego guy even
as a kid. Are we neither?

Speaker 3 (05:38):
I don't even want to play with arc.

Speaker 5 (05:40):
Step on them now?

Speaker 2 (05:41):
Oh stepping on is a mean one. Yeah, he's really
into him. He's got some elaborate.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
Legos dressing up for Halloween.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
Well, I think most adults get into the crazy thing is.
I'm more into it as an adult now than I
was as a kid.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
Halloween's my favorite holiday. Watching cartoons now.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
Well, if there's the old school loony tunes, yes, I
will tune in to watch Dogs and I do like animated.

Speaker 4 (06:05):
Fair like South Park.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
That's always family Guy, Family Guy exactly.

Speaker 3 (06:08):
This one couldn't have my name written more all over it.
Putting rainbow sprinkles on ice cream?

Speaker 5 (06:15):
Is it written in sprinkles?

Speaker 3 (06:16):
I would put rainbow sprinkles on my spaghetti.

Speaker 5 (06:19):
Do they taste like anything.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
I vouch for that.

Speaker 5 (06:21):
I don't.

Speaker 4 (06:22):
Yeah, I never got into that.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
That's the mean one.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
No, it's just a comfort thing.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
I guess.

Speaker 5 (06:26):
Okay, it's for decoration.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
Yeah, but I don't like chocolate ones. Just give me
the rainbow ones. I don't mess around with them. I'm
also this coloring. I will sit down with the kids
and color. Sometimes it's just like really relaxing and of
course and eating boxed mac and cheese.

Speaker 4 (06:41):
Oh that never goes.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
Out of stuff.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
More Mario Lopez coming up?

Speaker 2 (06:46):
Oh mare, Courtney Lopez. More music Ated your Way as
Cordo breaks down a few of the new things on
TV and streaming a lot of x is.

Speaker 3 (06:52):
In this one, FXX has a serious premiere of Nakaha,
which follows a journey of Club Nakaha, one of Mexico's
oldest football soccer clubs, and chronicles the efforts of co
owners Eva Longoria and Rob Mack and Ryan Reynolds, who,
inspired by their work with Wrexham AFC aim to read
Night at the Club's Soul. Okay, that's the only premiere

(07:15):
to mention, but the Jonas Brothers are also popping up
on your TV. If you're a fan Nick, Joe and
Kevin are taking the stage on Fallon tonight and stopping
by the Today Show tomorrow morning.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
So you're all Mario Courtney Lopez keeping the music coming atches.
We quickly recognize today's obscure holiday. What are we celebrating, honey?

Speaker 6 (07:33):
It is National Lighthouse Day and faddle fattal is a
lighthouse in Spanish and faddle listen, well, fattal is a light,
hon So the lighthouse fo lighthouse is obviously crucial in
the middle of the night, if.

Speaker 4 (07:47):
You're in the middle of the nuts.

Speaker 5 (07:49):
Yes, Jack Sparrow discovered America. I believe he saw the lighthouse.

Speaker 7 (07:52):
You got it.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
If you didn't have a lighthouse, you imagine any rex
we'd have back in the day. So the lighthouses are essential.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
But lighthouses are pretty popular on the East Coast more
than the West.

Speaker 7 (08:00):
No, No, I think I.

Speaker 5 (08:01):
Think there's some on the West coast too.

Speaker 4 (08:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
In one of those bodies, I feel like they were like.

Speaker 5 (08:04):
A New England kind of thing.

Speaker 2 (08:06):
They do feel more New England to Yes.

Speaker 4 (08:09):
All right, time for today's birthday.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
Shout out tomorrow Courtney Lopez here as always prasers gonnast
him off. We're gonna try to guess the ages.

Speaker 5 (08:16):
Charlie then from Bombshell and a bunch of other stuff.

Speaker 3 (08:20):
Is it Theron or Saren?

Speaker 2 (08:22):
I believe it's Saren Barren because.

Speaker 3 (08:24):
They're on She is turning on.

Speaker 4 (08:32):
The four level forty eight fifty oh fifty got that.
I said it and you didn't tell me.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
I was distracted by your your dragging out words to
make it. I guess whatever.

Speaker 5 (08:45):
Michael Shannon really good actor, very good actor. Kind of
a creepy person in general.

Speaker 4 (08:51):
Heck of a bad guy.

Speaker 2 (08:52):
I'm gonna say Shannon's turning fifty three.

Speaker 3 (08:55):
Find him creepy? I find him very Shannon?

Speaker 5 (09:00):
What fifty one?

Speaker 8 (09:03):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (09:04):
From The X Files David du Coveney. David is Agent Molder, sixty.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
I like David Coveney. He likes to chuck in his
shirt inside his underwear, old school style.

Speaker 5 (09:18):
Is that old school sol or just a mess up
little kids? Oh that's true.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
Yeah, David Coveney is fifty eight.

Speaker 5 (09:25):
Agent Molder is older at sixty five?

Speaker 2 (09:27):
Oh wow? Okay?

Speaker 5 (09:28):
And Wayne Knight from Seinfeld Newman. He calls Jurassic Park
to get screwed up.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
Hello Newman, and I saw him once My dog's vet.

Speaker 5 (09:37):
He was there with his dog.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
Okay, hack you dog, I don't remember.

Speaker 3 (09:40):
Actually, Wayne is turning tonight.

Speaker 5 (09:46):
Sixty sixties correcked.

Speaker 2 (09:48):
God you good more. Mario Lopez on the way, Mario
Courtney Lopez here somehow, already a week into August summer,
flying by pump the brakes. Pumpkin's already jumping the gun,
trying to get some spice. Pumpkin spice season starting earlier
and earlier, it seems each year. Starbucks bringing it back
on August twenty six, Duncan expected to jump in even earlier,

(10:08):
somewhere around August twentieth. How do you feel about that, honey.

Speaker 3 (10:11):
Well, as much as fall, fall is my favorite season,
Halloween is my favorite holiday.

Speaker 5 (10:16):
Big fan of Gordons.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
Yes, and dude's named Gordon.

Speaker 3 (10:20):
And I love pumpkin flavored things. Although the pumpkin coffee
for me is a little too sweet.

Speaker 2 (10:26):
I agree. And I love pumpkin bread, pumpkin pie. Yeah,
that's about it. I don't mess with pumpkin seeds or
pumpkin flavored coffee because it is too sweet.

Speaker 3 (10:34):
However, I don't care when they bring it back. The
more the merrier you want it get it. If you don't,
don't get it.

Speaker 5 (10:41):
It's the pumpkin spice and short supply.

Speaker 2 (10:44):
No, just like Selina, go miss it if you want
to come and get it exactly. A Mark Courtney Lopez

(11:06):

Speaker 4 (11:33):
Wow, you're a legal adult.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
Congratulations, thank you. Oh my gosh, I feel old. Obviously
you came onto the scene as an actress on Modern
Family and now you're focusing on music, which is really cool.
You released a couple of songs. Is that something you've
always been doing?

Speaker 8 (11:49):
I started writing music when I was in high school,
but I've been singing in my whole life, and I've
always had a very wide taste in music.

Speaker 7 (11:57):
So Yeah, Aubrey.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
Hank Ty quick break and I want to know more
these songs you dropped in us coming back with more
Aubrey soon.

Speaker 1 (12:02):
More fun on the way on with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
Getting back to modern families. Aubrey Anderson Emmons. Who's hanging
out on Zoom with us this hour. Mario Lopez here.
She played Lily on the show and now has released
some new music. First single, it's called Telephones in Traffic.
What inspired this one?

Speaker 8 (12:19):
That song is about a family member that actually left
me when I was thirteen, So a lot of my
music is about my childhood and it all is very nostalgic.

Speaker 4 (12:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (12:28):
So yeah, and it's called Telephones in Traffic because well,
one of my lines of the song.

Speaker 7 (12:34):
Is like, I missed your exit, pasted it.

Speaker 8 (12:35):
I passed that exit a lot when I go places
back to that home where I used to live in,
and so I think about it a lot, and I
don't go on that specific exit ever anymore.

Speaker 7 (12:45):
So that's yeah, that's a little bit about that song.

Speaker 2 (12:47):
I like that, I like that you wrote it and everything.
That's cool, all right, Well, more with Aubrey coming up first.
More musically, a Maria Lopez chatting with actress Aubrey Anderson Emmons,
who played Lily on Modern Family, dropping music on is
now In fact this Friday, your debut EP drops What

Speaker 8 (13:07):
VP is actually called Drown and I'm really excited for
people to hear. There's gonna be five tracks. People have
heard three of the like three of the five that
are honest, so there's gonna be keen new ones.

Speaker 7 (13:20):
And I'm I'm really excited.

Speaker 8 (13:22):
And it talks about my experience just like everything that's
been going on in my life for the past like
honestly since Modern Family's ended, Like everything written in the
song is like post Modern Family.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
I Uh afraid to ask if somebody did somebody drown
or is that.

Speaker 4 (13:38):
A metaphor nobody?

Speaker 5 (13:40):
Good?

Speaker 4 (13:41):
Good to hear drown?

Speaker 5 (13:44):
Okay, good good?

Speaker 2 (13:45):
And do you have plans to like, uh, tour at
all or perform?

Speaker 8 (13:49):
I really really hope. So my hope is in the
next year that I'll probably open for somebody on tour.

Speaker 7 (13:56):
That would be a dream. I love to travel, so
I think that would.

Speaker 2 (13:59):
Be great, awesome, awesome, all right, Well, hany tag, one
more thing I want to ask you more songs and
I'm gonna come back and wrap it up, wrap it
up with modern Families. Aubrey Anderson Emmons. You're on with
Mario Lopez. And speaking of modern family, I know you've
been acting since you were a kid. You started like
you were four years old.

Speaker 7 (14:14):
Right, Yeah, I started when I was four.

Speaker 2 (14:15):
That's awesome and something you still obviously continue want to
do along with music.

Speaker 7 (14:19):
Oh for sure.

Speaker 8 (14:20):
Like I was just filming a self tape this morning.
I love acting, specifically theeter that is. I have such
a passion for theater and musical theater. Yeah, so yeah,
I hope to do that one day for sure. And
Broadway is one of my big dreams.

Speaker 4 (14:35):
Oh that's awesome.

Speaker 8 (14:36):
Yeah, and I do community theater here too, just for
five you know what I mean?

Speaker 5 (14:40):
I love for you.

Speaker 2 (14:41):
You should. Are you from the southern California?

Speaker 8 (14:44):
Are you?

Speaker 7 (14:45):

Speaker 2 (16:08):
Good luck, Oh Mari Courney Lopez lots to catch up
on now that Quardo is back, including talking about another
must watch doc. We have been on fire with these
docs lately and they have not disappointed. We're going to
rewind a little to when we saw a few docs ago.
Amy Bradley is Missing. A lot of people have been
commenting on it, and it's about this young girl, Amy Bradley,

(16:31):
who was on a cruise with her family and well
she went missing. A lot of people say that she
was seen on multiple islands in the Caribbean. However, not
to be a cynic, I feel it's a lot more simple,
and she took her own life on the balcony and

(16:53):
the parents are cleaning onto some hope that that may
be the case. I can't even imagine that feeling. So
I really do think that's it. That's the only logical explanation.

Speaker 3 (17:02):
What do you think, honey, it really is strange. I
have to be honest. There's many stories, many sightings of
her with the exact same Tasmanian devil tattoo, which isn't a.

Speaker 9 (17:13):
Common I only know one other person on this planets
a Chasmanian devil, but his is holding a mug of beers.

Speaker 3 (17:21):
But I get the parents clinging on to hope because
as a parent you just want to closure.

Speaker 2 (17:26):
It's pretty interesting, and I don't want to give too
many details and spoilers if you haven't seen it. But
I honestly think oftentimes it's pretty simple the scenario, but
your mind can take you to these places to try
to justify.

Speaker 5 (17:38):
Well, you don't want certain things to be true.

Speaker 2 (17:39):
You don't want them to be true, and you want
to justify believe what you want to believe exactly.

Speaker 5 (17:43):
Yeah, she's on that island.

Speaker 1 (17:45):
Mario Lopez will be right back.

Speaker 2 (17:47):
You're Mark Courtney Lopez squeezing in one last thing before
we get out.

Speaker 4 (17:51):
Of here for the night.

Speaker 2 (17:52):
So Wahlberg, honey, face timy. You know he loves face time.
And I had my glasses on and he was kind
of giving me a hard time that I you reading glasses,
and I'm like, dude, we're the same age.

Speaker 4 (18:02):
You're actually older than me. Don't you use them?

Speaker 2 (18:03):
He goes, I used to, but I trained my eyes
to get stronger, and I said, get at her, he goes.
Bro This doctor said, your eyes are a muscle, just
like the rest of your body. If you don't use it,
an electrophy, but you could build a back up if
you train it. And I'm like, are you serious? Like, yeah,
I don't use them anymore to read scripts. And on
the heels of this conversation, my buddy Davy Daves said

(18:24):
I don't use them anymore either. I trained my eyes, Like,
well what? And then Totty, my other buddy, said, my
uncle did the same thing. And then Terry was just
over hearing the conversation. She chimed in with Paul McCartney did.

Speaker 5 (18:34):
The same thing, right, so you know a bunch of liars.

Speaker 2 (18:36):
Well that's what I'm thinking, I said, is everybody trolling me?
Messing with me?

Speaker 7 (18:39):
Right now?

Speaker 2 (18:40):
Hold on, hold on a second. And then I was
at peet this morning physical therapy with McGinnis, my guy
I trusted individual, and I ran it by him. I said,
I want your take, he goes, there's actually some truth
to that, because that's why, and you use the same
analogy my other friend, Kim, did you put a patch
over your eyes and you can train one that is
weaker to get a strong as the other one, He goes.

(19:02):
It depends though, on the severity of your eyesight, and
if you're near sighted faresighted, so there is some there
is some circumstances. So but bottom line, Wahlberg, I think
was right.

Speaker 9 (19:13):
I've done some research. It will not solve near sightedness
or far sightedness. It will help with eyestrain and what
I have though you have eyestrained, but it doesn't help
your actual vision. It helps prevent you from trying to
basically hurting your eyes by trying to art.

Speaker 5 (19:28):
But your vision is still messed up already. It's not
going to correct that. But go ahead and try do
your eye workouts.

Speaker 3 (19:32):
Notice all men said that.

Speaker 2 (19:35):
No Terry's a woman.

Speaker 3 (19:36):

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
