Speaker 1 (00:23):
Yah, Mario and Courtney Lopez. Let's take a look at
what's on TV today.
Speaker 4 (00:26):
NBC has the opening ceremony of the twenty twenty four
Summer Olympics. I feel like we've been talking about it
so much and it's finally here.
Speaker 1 (00:37):
That's the only big thing I thought I was doing
right there.
Speaker 4 (00:40):
Peacock has Olympic Highlights with Kevin Hart and Keenan Thompson,
a unique and hilarious look at the Summer Games.
Speaker 1 (00:46):
This is something I would watch. Yeah, it's very funny.
Speaker 4 (00:49):
Hulu has Playground, a reality show about the dancers and
instructors of the popular dance studio Playground La. That's Robin Anton.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
Oh, that's Robin Anton.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
Maria Courtney Lopez with your first look at Timothy shallow
May as Bob Dylan. It's for the new biopic called
a Complete Unknown, and Timmy it's actually doing his own singing.
Speaker 6 (01:15):
Called that Timmy, Timmy as a Timothy. I don't like being.
Speaker 4 (01:19):
Called and we have a discussion one time where you
Mario said that calling a grown man, oh yeah, is
not okay.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
Really, Jimmy, Jimmy, Jimmy, you need to you need to
like you lose that at a certain age.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
I feel Mario doesn't even know I have a first name, no.
Speaker 4 (01:36):
Because we just called you by your last name. Well,
Timmy has done some singing before in Wanka, but the
studio is expecting this one to get some Oscar attention.
The movie drops in December, but you can also see
the trailer nowt on with Mario dot Com.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
You're all Mario Lopez and Alec Baldwin's jurors are speaking.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
Out on with Mario Lopez Hollywood, but.
Speaker 3 (01:59):
So Earlier this month, the judge threw out the charges
against Alec Baldwin over the shooting of RUSS cinematographer Helena
Hutchins but if the case admitted to the jury, Alec
may have been sent behind bars. At least two jurors
are saying they were leaning toward a guilty verdict, but
three others said they had doubts.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
Oh.
Speaker 3 (02:17):
Now, keep in mind the jury didn't hear anything of
the defense before the case was closed. There are two
documentaries in the works, so I'm sure even more information
will come to light in the future. Oh, that's pretty
wild to hear. And just when you thought he was
done with this, now there's going to be documentaries to
follow him. Oh, Alec is going through.
Speaker 2 (02:36):

I supposed to kill?
Speaker 2 (04:22):
Who?
Speaker 4 (04:23):
Who must save the life of his estranged son? Now,
contract killer? Does that mean like you sign a contract
like I need you to kill this person?
Speaker 1 (04:31):
It's your a professional assassin.
Speaker 5 (04:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (04:33):
I don't know if there's like an actual paper contract
because that would leave a paper trail.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
But yeah, it's when someone gets hired. Michael Keaton, great actor,
The Fabulous Four.
Speaker 4 (04:41):

she's really fifty one.
Speaker 5 (05:13):
She was great.
Speaker 1 (05:14):
He was fifty one.
Speaker 6 (05:15):
Jason Statham from Expendables. We had him in studio once
you called him mate.
Speaker 1 (05:19):
Thanks, mate, that's right, that's my mate. Jason. I think

fifty seven. Ooh, okay, And for what I remember, he
is a He's just solid muscle, that dude, Jason Statham. Okay, yeah,
thank your word for it. We took a photo of him.
Speaker 6 (05:37):
I remember Sandra Book from Blindside, Gravity a million movies.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
Sandra Bullock is fifty eight, fifty seven sixty okay. Sandra
Bullock and Helen Mirren. She was the queen and the queen.
Great actress. Helen Mirren has got to be. I think

Speaker 3 (06:00):
Mario Lopez on the way, Mario Courtney Lopez. Here we
find something to celebrate every single day.
Speaker 6 (06:06):
Here.
Speaker 1 (06:06):
What is today's holiday? Honey?
Speaker 4 (06:08):
I just did this because I have my our newest dog,
with us, and we were in the elevator. It is
national talk in an elevator day and I talked to Mookie.
Speaker 1 (06:16):
Other days you're not supposed to talk to no I understand.
Speaker 4 (06:19):
I mean maybe this is a day where you know,
go out of your comfort zone and say hi to somebody.
Speaker 1 (06:24):
Also, I mean that's that's a good way to look
at it, all.
Speaker 8 (06:26):
Right, Mario Lopez here in today's guest is setting up
their zoom right now.
Speaker 3 (06:42):
It is actress Monica Potter. I'm looking forward to speaking her.
Her new movie is out today, The Girl in the
Pool with Freddie Prince Junior. It looks like a high
anxiety thriller with some major mystery vibes. We're going to
find out all about it after a few more songs.
Speaker 1 (06:56):
What's up you all?
Speaker 3 (06:57):
Mario Lopez joining me now on Zoom from the new
movie The Girl in the Pool Golden Globe nominee actress
Monica Potter.
Speaker 1 (07:03):
Welcome to the show, Monica, how have you been good? Good?
Speaker 5 (07:06):
Thanks for having me. I've missed talking to you.
Speaker 1 (07:08):
I know.
Speaker 3 (07:09):
It's so nice to see you and thank you for
taking the time. Congrats on the film. Trailer trailer's you
Give Me a little anxiety. Right, there's what's the premise
for this one?
Speaker 5 (07:20):
Ooh, that's a good question.
Speaker 7 (07:22):
I didn't read the script when I've signed on, but
I think I'm on page like fourteen.
Speaker 5 (07:26):
Now, that was the running thing.
Speaker 7 (07:28):
On said I've signed on because of Freddy, and I said, yeah,
I'll do it.
Speaker 5 (07:32):
And then I.
Speaker 7 (07:36):
Was pleasantly surprised at the trailer. I'm like, woa wait,
this is the movie we did because now everything is
so compressed right when you're filming you know, independent films
and like what happened to like the nineties, like to
early two thousands when the film would be stretched out
over three or four months.
Speaker 5 (07:56):
But I do like the pace. I have to say.
The movie is basically, oh gosh, how do you It's
a thriller, psychological thriller.
Speaker 7 (08:08):
I there's it's like a game of It's like the
game of clue, okay.
Speaker 5 (08:14):
On steroids, you know.
Speaker 7 (08:17):
And Freddy he just shreds it.
Speaker 5 (08:21):
He's so good in this film.
Speaker 7 (08:23):
I mean I haven't seen the whole film, but with
him working with him, right, it's a whole new Freddy.
Speaker 5 (08:29):
He's amazing.
Speaker 3 (08:31):
Well, the Girl in the Pool is in theaters. Now
we got to take a little break and I we're
gonna have more with Monica Potter.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
More fun on the way on with Mario Lopez.
Speaker 3 (08:40):
Mario Lopez here talking about the new movie The Girl
in the Pool with actress Monica Potter and your character
completely in the dark or does she suspect that something's
going on?
Speaker 5 (08:50):
She's got her own stuff going on.
Speaker 7 (08:53):
Okay, everybody has their own like sideline kind of thing
happening and you're going, what wait, who did it?
Speaker 1 (09:04):
I like that keeps you guessing, keeps you guessing. It
really does nice.
Speaker 5 (09:09):
It's fun to film too.
Speaker 1 (09:10):
Where'd you shoot it?
Speaker 5 (09:11):
At Sand Canyon? It was hot but fun?
Speaker 7 (09:16):
Okay, best, not best, but really good. Friends with the
guy that owns the house we filmed at. His name's
Ed Donovan, and he's teaching me how to fly.
Speaker 1 (09:24):
He's teaching how to fly. Yeah, that's kind of cool.
Speaker 3 (09:27):
Side note, I have all.
Speaker 7 (09:28):
Of my stuff from when I moved in one of
his airplane hangars from store.
Speaker 5 (09:33):
It's great.
Speaker 1 (09:34):
Oh that's cool.
Speaker 5 (09:35):
Many people like that. Yeah, bonus for new friends and opportunities.
Speaker 3 (09:39):
And absolutely absolutely agreat well, congrats on that one.
Speaker 1 (09:43):
I look forward to uh to checking it out, all right?
Hold on for a mom. We've got to play some
more music. Whatamaro Lopez here? My guest.
Speaker 3 (09:49):
Today's actress Monica Potter from the new movie The Girl
in the Pool and coming out next month, Running on Empty?
What can you tell us about that one?
Speaker 7 (09:58):
That one is tricky. I signed on that because Jim
Gaffigan was in it.
Speaker 5 (10:01):
I asked my son Liam. I said, Liam, there's a movie.
Speaker 7 (10:06):
It was called something different before More from Sherman Oaks,
but now it's called Running on Empty. And he said, well,
Jim Gaffigan's doing it, You're doing it.
Speaker 5 (10:16):
So I hadn't even read the script for that, and
I didn't.
Speaker 7 (10:20):
I literally say yes and then I figure it out
feeling or I'll ask what Danny, Liam or Molly or
Lucy one of my kids and say yes or no.
They're like yes, yes, yes. So the last one, Molly
picked just yes, just jump, and that was the name
of the film. So I love working. I love working
(10:42):
with people. And I think there's like four movies that
I've done this year that are oh my gosh, there's
so much. It's so fun. Yeah, it is so much fun.
I love being back to work. I took time off
for personal stuff, you know, but all everything's great and.
Speaker 5 (11:01):
I love producing, so that's a huge part of what
I'm sort of moving into and writing.
Speaker 3 (11:06):
And I like the Jamaica choices too, based on the
talent you're going to work with.
Speaker 5 (11:10):
And yeah, it's.
Speaker 7 (11:11):
All about and stuff being kind. If you're not kindly,
you'll become that way.
Speaker 1 (11:16):
I agree.
Speaker 3 (11:17):
Well, I got one more thing I want to ask you,
but first let's place more music. You're al Mario Lopez
wrapping things up with today's guest, Monica Potter.
Speaker 1 (11:25):
And this year you.
Speaker 3 (11:26):
Mentioned that you took a little time off, but you
started about thirty years ago. That was your screen debut
in The Young and the Restless. What do you remember
about What do you remember about your first Dawn set?
Speaker 7 (11:36):
There?
Speaker 5 (11:36):
Okay, so old god? Panic attack?
Speaker 1 (11:39):
Panic attack?
Speaker 4 (11:40):
Really?
Speaker 7 (11:41):
Probably yeah, I went okay, wait, was that a daunting experience?
Speaker 2 (11:47):
Er?
Speaker 5 (11:49):
So, yeah it was. I'll tell you it was. It's
really tough.
Speaker 7 (11:54):
That kind of acting is really tough. I sucked, really,
I sucked so bad.
Speaker 3 (12:02):
But why are you just being critical of yourself there?
Or was it the pace because of the pace in
which they move or.
Speaker 7 (12:10):
No, I just couldn't do it. I was like, wow,
that's great. I didn't really wasn't that bad, but it
was pretty bad. And I found out I was pregnant
with Liam, my second, who's almost twenty he's twenty nine now.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
So.
Speaker 7 (12:26):
And I was playing a sixteen year old. So Jill
Newton was the casting director. Anytime I go to CBS, like,
I want to go on the prices right so badly.
Speaker 1 (12:36):
With CBSTV City the lot right there.
Speaker 5 (12:39):
That can't go in. It's really hard. And I told
Craig Ferguson that when he was doing his show, I
would go there a lot because I love Craig.
Speaker 1 (12:46):
Yeah, he's great.
Speaker 3 (12:46):
I like Craig.
Speaker 5 (12:48):
He had the best time.
Speaker 7 (12:49):
Like every time I walked through the whole like I
can't reade it.
Speaker 5 (12:54):
It was like a real.
Speaker 7 (12:55):
Traumatic experience because it was, but it was also wonderful,
you know, because it it was like, Okay, no, I
don't like this, it's not for me. It takes a
real talent to do that kind so why don't we
just stick to doing movies and you know, stuff like that.
(13:16):
So that's what I did.
Speaker 3 (13:19):
Meanwhile, we're going to be checking out The Girl in
the Pool, which is in theaters right now.
Speaker 1 (13:23):
Monica. Thanks for hanging out.
Speaker 5 (13:25):
So nice to talk to you. You're so beautiful.
Speaker 7 (13:28):
Oh you're so sweet, wonderful man and a man of
God and just awesome.
Speaker 5 (13:34):
And I adore you. I will always adore you because
you're always kind, you're very You're just a beautiful angel.
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (13:41):
Oh, I so appreciate that. Oh you're the best. I
want to see you a person.
Speaker 5 (13:45):
God bless you.
Speaker 1 (13:46):
Too, God blessed.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
Take care you're the full interview now on with Mario
donc more Mario Lopez on the Way.
Speaker 1 (13:53):
Mario Courtney Lopez.
Speaker 3 (13:54):
Here I heard Radio Yesterda Latina returns to Miami for
eleventh year. This time it's presented by the all new
Nissan Kicks. We've got some of the biggest Latin artists
in the world hitting the stage, including Fade, who is
also receiving the Guarason Latino Award, plus Sebastian Yatra, Manuel
Durisso and so many more.
Speaker 4 (14:12):
Oh that sounds so great. Come to Miami to see
it live on October twenty sixth, mat I'm with Mario
dot com.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
Mario Lopez. Here was some quick buzz for you.
Speaker 3 (14:21):
Want to wish a related Congrats to Wayne Brady who
secretly had a baby boy about six months ago.
Speaker 1 (14:28):
Oh very secret. Didn't even know he was pregnant.
Speaker 3 (14:31):
His name is val Henry. Sounds like it happened during
a brief reconciliation with his ex girlfriend. Apparently the news
was a shock to his ex wife and adult daughter,
who are not fans of his ex. It's all more
fodder for his reality show on Freeform where he's openly
discussing him being pan sexual.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
Okay, you're a Mario Courtney Lopez. Time for another fake
debate where the topics are made up on the spot,
but the passion is real. Who's pro? Who's con? Today?
Speaker 6 (15:00):
You will be con Courtney, will be pro. You have
fifteen seconds make your case. Ten second rebuttal. Your topic
today in honor of the Olympics is winning a silver medal.
Speaker 1 (15:09):
I'm con or pro con? Okay, good look.
Speaker 4 (15:13):
I know everybody who goes into the Olympics wants to
come home with the gold. But if you come home
with the silver or the bronze, you still topped and
the top three, and that is something to be proud of.
Do not beat yourself up.
Speaker 1 (15:27):
Silver is silver, mister Lopez. If you're not first your last.
Speaker 3 (15:34):
And it is not only disheartening and discouraging to want
to strive for silver, it should be against the law.
Speaker 1 (15:43):
Quite frankly, is Lopez?
Speaker 4 (15:45):
You know what? I find that awful? What are you
teaching our kids? Because you go there and do you
get nothing. You're not gonna be happy with silver. You'd
rather get nothing, So that doesn't make any sense.
Speaker 1 (15:54):
Mister Lopez.
Speaker 3 (15:55):
The only thing about the silver medal is it teaches
you that you have to work harder and you have
to dial it in.
Speaker 1 (16:01):
If I have to.
Speaker 6 (16:02):
Find something positive, tell who you think gets the silver medal?
Speaker 1 (16:05):
Here at all, Mario.
Speaker 2 (16:07):
Tell Mario what do you think? On Twitter at on
with Mario More Mario Lopez on.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
The way Mario Lopez here.
Speaker 3 (16:13):

with Mario and add us to your favorites. Warrio Lopez,
here was some quick buzz for you. Adam Lambert is
heading to the Great White Way. He's gonna be making
his Broadway debut this fall in Cabaret. Adam is replacing
Eddie Redmain, who was nominated for a Tony. Adam has
performed in a touring version of Wicked, but this is
(16:54):
his first time on Broadway, so good for him. Start
to stay on stage is September sixteenth, y'all.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
Mario Courtney Lopez. Before we take off of the weekend,
we're gonna give you the final word with our comment
of the week. What do we got?
Speaker 4 (17:05):
This is from at Ello Melissa, and she said the
most realistic thing about Sex and the City is that
Carrie Bradshaw's friends never read her little articles.
Speaker 3 (17:14):
They don't I watch Sex in the City. I guess
it was just never mentioned the pardon me, probably because
she was always talking about them. I watched the original
Sex and the Cities. I have not seen the newest iteration,
but back when it was paired with the Sopranos. Proud
to say that I watched that that was really good.
I guess she always sort of talked through her articles
and the conversations. I felt they didn't need to read
(17:36):
them because they.
Speaker 1 (17:36):
Were living them.
Speaker 4 (17:38):
But to back this up, it's kind of like when
you're in it all the time, all the shows that
you do, we don't necessarily watch all the shows, correct,
you know, I want to be.
Speaker 2 (17:49):
The tweet of the week. The tweet us on with
Mario and hang on because Mario Lopez, We'll be right
back on.
Speaker 3 (17:55):
I'm out here full steam ahead into the weekend, but
I'm back on Monday to preview The Bachelor and fill
you in on all the latest Hollywood buzz until then,
Mario Lopez saying good night.
Speaker 2 (18:05):
Drawn with Mario Lopez
