You're on with Mario and Courtney Lopez.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
Yeah, Mario Lopez, and let's get your comments. What do
we got?
Speaker 4 (00:37):
This comes from at Colin Wimbles picked up a Saint
Mario Lopez candle. Now, what do I pray for?
Speaker 2 (00:43):
Anything you want? Collin, Saint Mario Lopez grants your toughest wishes.
Somebody made these candles. I reposted it when they tagged me,
there's your photo on ig My photo is on them,
and it kind of sacked. Let's just be honest. It
was gonna say it like on a Catholic picture, and
I just reposed it as a joke. I thought it
(01:04):
was very funny, but I had no part in this.
Speaker 4 (01:07):
I'm sure God has a sense of humorus.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
More Mario Lopez on the way, Mario Courtney Lopez, here
was some quick buzz for you. Universal going old school
with their latest Reeboots. Now in the works, the new
version of The Monsters.
Speaker 5 (01:20):
Oh.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
I love the Monsters. I was more of a Monsters.
Speaker 5 (01:23):
Guy than Adam's family exactly.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
I used to love Fred Gwynn when he would go Lilya.
I love that it's gonna be a series that takes
place in their Universal Monster verse.
Speaker 5 (01:37):
They're also bringing back in the seventies comedy car Wash,
The car Wash.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
Yeah, at the car Wash.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
That's going to air on and we see the original
movie featured Richard Pryor, George Carlin, and Garrett Morris.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
Y'all, Mario Lopez. Let's take a look at what's on
TV and streaming today.
Speaker 4 (01:56):
Max has Fallen, Idols, Nick and Aaron Carter Hey talk
about thetation surrounding the Brothers.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
I bet that's fascinating that. Uh yeah, that's been a
tough run for the Carters.
Speaker 4 (02:08):
History premiere is The Great War, A four hour documentary
about America's involvement in World War One.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
Well, they're going backwards because usually it's all about World
War Two.
Speaker 4 (02:17):
And that GEO has Season four of Gordon Ramsay uncharted tonight,
Gordon dives into the culinary ocean of the Florida Keys.
Speaker 2 (02:23):
Oh that's some good seafood right there, yo. Mario Courtney
Lopez and Apple's listed greatest Albums got everyone all worked.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
Out on with Mario Lopez, Hollywood.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
But so we've seen these kind of lists before, but
this one skews a lot younger than others. Apple's Greatest
Albums of all time according to them, of course, this
is their top ten. Who do we got honey?
Speaker 5 (02:46):
All right?
Speaker 3 (02:46):
So ten is Miss Beyonce with Lemonade.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
I Right off the bat, there wasn't that many hits
that came off that album. I'm very confused by that.
Speaker 5 (02:58):
Number nine Nirvana with Mind.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
Very influential, Okay, Number.
Speaker 5 (03:02):
Eight, Amy Winehouse back to.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
Black, fantastic album.
Speaker 3 (03:06):
Nice, Number seven Kendrick Lamar, good Kid, Mad City.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
Again, not that many hits that came off of that,
which I think is the barometer for the criteria.
Speaker 3 (03:17):
Here Stevie Wonder with songs in the Key of Life.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
Awesome album. He's had so many great ones, that's probably
his best one.
Speaker 5 (03:23):
Number five.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
Top five Frank Ocean with Blonde.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
Great album, but wow, top five, our daughter would be PLoud.
Speaker 3 (03:30):
Yes, very happy. Number four Prince with Purple Rain.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
No issue with that, absolutely, I wish Rain was purple.
Speaker 5 (03:40):
Number three Beatles with Abby.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
Road another great, solid album. No argument so far with
four and three.
Speaker 5 (03:47):
Number two Michael Jackson Thriller.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
All this is not number one is beyond the greatest
selling album of all time, so many hits. That is
a crime that it's not number one.
Speaker 5 (03:57):
Number one is Lauren Hill Miseducation. I know you're happy
with this one.
Speaker 2 (04:03):
Well, I love me sam Elbogie. That got so much
playing my ride back in ninety eight when it first dropped.
I absolutely love that album. It's great top to bottom. However,
with all due respect, I don't feel it needs to
be number one. I have no problem with it being
in the top ten. I can't believe the Saturday Night
Fever soundtrack is not there too, with so many great songs.
(04:25):
And that's also I believe the second greatest selling album
of all time, that behind the Eagles. Maybe it's in
the top three for sure. But it's greatest soundtrack for sure,
So yeah, I could see the controversy.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
More Mario Lopez coming up?
Speaker 2 (04:39):
What a Mario Lopez here? And today is not just
Memorial Day, it's also National Sunscreen Day. Memorial Day usually
symbolizes the kickoff of the summer season. So nice friendly
reminder to lub it up kids. Don't want to get
burnt out there. You're on Mario Lopez. And this caused
a lot of conversation on my social media. I was
asked my top five favorit write fast food restaurants in
(05:03):
no particular order.
Speaker 4 (05:04):
Hold on, did you say fast food like that? Because
because not just for it?
Speaker 2 (05:07):
No, because not just restaurants. Oh okay, people were coming
out with like legit restaurants. I was like, this is
a very specific category, yes, fast food, fast food. So
I said Chick fil A, which if I had to rank,
that'd probably be number one, to be honest, and I
wanted to spread the love. I also do love Popeyes
and Raising Canes. I do love those two, but Chick
fil A is the og. I like that, although I'm
(05:29):
mad they took away their cold slack. Also, Arby's a
lot of people came out of the woodworks. Nobody gives
Arby's love. I always give Arby's love. They're very underrated.
The cheddar and roast beef slaps and the Arby's sauce
is delicious, it really is. And they have curly cue
fries in and out. Great Burger Place. They tend to
(05:51):
populate the West Coast down south they do water Burger,
East Coast a little more White Castle. I like those
two Jack in a Box. I went Jack in a
Box over McDonald's simply for the fact that they have
the nine and nine sense tacos, which are incredible. It's
not real meat in there. I don't know what's going on,
but they're so tasty, especially in the middle of the
night later incredible. And then this one had a lot
(06:12):
of controversy. Cheap pole, and I'll be honest, it's only
because I thought Long John Silver was no longer in business,
which I think they aren't. Right, they aren't in business.
Speaker 4 (06:21):
There's still saw I think, but I think they're few
and far between.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
Yeah, so Chiapotlet's kind of there. But I would have
traded it out with Long John Silver now that I
think about it.
Speaker 1 (06:30):
More Mario Lopez coming up.
Speaker 2 (06:33):
Mario Lopez here, and this is a pretty wild fun fact.
The movie The Sandlot came out in nineteen ninety three,
but it took place in nineteen sixty two. And if
they made the movie today, it would take place in
nineteen ninety three. Oh my god, we're getting so old.
That's a classic. Fol like this si in fact, not
very fun. Marrio Courtney Lopez. He are good news for
(06:56):
all the Sex of the City fans who are a
team eight in. Looks like John Corbett is back on
the set oven just like that for season three.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
Carrie and Aiden parted ways at the end of season two,
so maybe they'll reconsider.
Speaker 2 (07:07):
Who knows she bounced back quick when Big died. She
went back to her Rex quick. She just moved.
Speaker 3 (07:13):
You gotta keep them, You gotta keep some in your
back pocket, you know what I mean?
Speaker 5 (07:16):
Wow?
Speaker 2 (07:17):
Is that right?
Speaker 5 (07:18):
No, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (07:19):
I would not even look at any of my excite
was the wreck In fact, I'm about to throw up.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
Okay, let's keep it moving. Then you're al Mario Lopez
got some Memorial Day birthdays to celebrate. I'm gonna try
to guess.
Speaker 4 (07:33):
The ages Andre three thousand from Outcast. He was in
Four Brothers Be Cool.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
Andrea has got to Be forty two forty nine.
Speaker 4 (07:43):
Oh, okay, I believe he put out a flute album
that was wild as well.
Speaker 2 (07:49):
Todd Bridges from Different Strokes. Everybody hates Chris Todd Bridges
is sixty one fifty nine.
Speaker 4 (07:57):
I was gonna sayfty, my gosh, and your neighbor from
The Man Show Loveline, He's got his own podcast.
Speaker 2 (08:03):
Adam Corolla. Adam Corolla, who now lives on the same
block as show, Hey Otani, My neighborhood's getting quite cool. Oh,
your new neighbor, My new neighbor show, Hey, Adam's got
to be sixty one sixty pretty close?
Speaker 1 (08:20):
More with Mario Lopez after this.
Speaker 2 (08:22):
Mario Courtney Lopez. Here, Camila Cabello and Little NASAs are
throwing hands and tour collabing for Camila's new video He Knows,
and they're not afraid to fight each other to prove
who is the alpha on the dance floor. Okay Oh, It's.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
All part of Kamila's new album, which drops on June
twenty eighth. You can see the video for yourself though,
at onwmrio dot com.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
What a Mario Lopez here. Today's guest should be joining
any moment. It's actor Brian Baumgartner from the Office.
Speaker 3 (09:00):
He compiled more than one hundred of the greatest barbecue
recipes for his new cookbook. I'm getting hungry just thinking
about that. And we'll find out about it after a
few more songs.
Speaker 2 (09:12):
Tabo Mari Lopez don't even know on zoom from the Office,
actor and author Brian Bombgardner. Welcome to the show Man. How
you been.
Speaker 6 (09:19):
I am fantastic. How are you, Mario?
Speaker 2 (09:22):
I'm well, I'm well. Thank you always nice to see you.
Congratulations on the new cookbook. Got it right here, seriously
good barbecue. I love me some barbecue. And last time
we spoke, we were talking about chili. I also like chili. Yes,
but was this a natural transition or you've just been
(09:45):
a big barbecue guy.
Speaker 7 (09:47):
I've actually saw him originally from Georgia, so barbecue is
more me. You know, chili. The whole chili thing started.
I don't know if you ever heard there was an
incident that happened with me and chili a number of
years ago. Yes, that's where that started, but I never
really made it. Barbecue grilling. I mean when I'm home,
(10:08):
I'm on the road a lot of fact. Right now,
I'm in New York. By the way, it's ninety degrees
here with a humidity of ninety five percent.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
Oh my gosh, I was there last week. It was freezing.
I can't believe that it was literally freezing and there
was raining in the Oh gosh.
Speaker 6 (10:21):
Yeah, well, neither our ideal where you're in the city.
Speaker 7 (10:24):
But yeah, when I'm home four or five nights a week,
I'm out at the grill or at the smoker doing stuff.
I love it. It clears my mind. I've been doing
it forever. And so this is more. This is more me.
This is like kind of a passion project for me,
and had the opportunity to find some amazing chefs contribute
(10:45):
some recipes. There's a bunch of my tips in there,
tips from them. So it's it's been really fun.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
Well, pick up The Seriously Good Barbecue Cookbook wherever you
get books. Hang time, We got a more Brian Baumgartner
coming up.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
Mario Lopez will be right back.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
Mario Lopezerra talking about The Seriously Good Barbecue Cookbook with
actor Brian Baumgardner. And you have over one hundred recipes,
which is pretty awesome. Now, I'm sure Bias you say
from Georgia, would you say Atlanta has the best barbecue?
Kansas City, Memphis, Who's got the best barbecue? Texas?
Speaker 7 (11:20):
Yeah, I mean yeah, we talked about that a lot
in the book. And then you have you have all
the ones you just mentioned, plus like South Carolina, which
is like much more like vinegar mustard based stuff that
they have.
Speaker 6 (11:32):
Going on there in the Carolina.
Speaker 7 (11:34):
So we talked quite a bit about that and different
methods and spices and sauces that are specific to every region.
You know, for me, it's for me, it's hard to
beat great Texas barbecue.
Speaker 6 (11:48):
And I went to school in Texas.
Speaker 7 (11:52):
I went to college in Texas actually, so you know,
I've had a lot more of that than say Kansas
City or Memphis.
Speaker 6 (12:00):
But yeah, I mean so that's that's one of the things.
Speaker 7 (12:02):
That we talk about in the book and what what
makes what makes them the recipe specific to the regents
very coola.
Speaker 2 (12:10):
I got more I want to ask you, but we
got to play some more music. Hold time, Brian, what up?
Mario Lopez here talking all things barbecue with actor Brian
Bomgartner from the office, And am I reading this correctly?
You even have a recipe for alte? Yes, what I
do to your recipe?
Speaker 6 (12:28):
I just made it.
Speaker 7 (12:30):
It's it's available on essentially whatever social media you're on,
my Instagram and my TikTok. I actually filmed making a
lote and uh, you know, I had some people over.
Speaker 6 (12:43):
We then cut it all.
Speaker 7 (12:45):
I know you're not supposed to do that, but cut
it all off, made a big bowl of it and
served it. And I'm telling you, we had we had
kids there who are like twelve thirteen years old and
they were like, mom, this warn is unloy.
Speaker 2 (13:01):
Yes, I'm because growing up we had it and we
put butter on it, of course, then we put mayonnaise,
Then we put page on cheese, then we put chili.
That's the next thing. A way to eat it out.
Then it's so good.
Speaker 6 (13:14):
Yeah, so good.
Speaker 7 (13:14):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, no, it's no And I do and
I make I make the sauce to put on it
and nice kind of tell people the order in which
to do it, and yeah, it's no inst delicious.
Speaker 2 (13:24):
Let's play some more music. J Mario Lopez. I guess
is Brian Bomgardner, author of the Seriously Good Barbecue cookbook.
And this is so random, but I was in Detroit,
of all places, and I had a dry rub barbecue ribs.
It was out of this world. I asked, I asked
to meet the chef. He gave me his the hold.
It was incredible. The dry rubs are really good too.
Speaker 6 (13:46):
I'm a fan. Well, yeah, I mean that's the thing.
I'm gonna be honest.
Speaker 7 (13:50):
Part of what when I was growing up, it was
about going to University of Georgia football games and that
tailgating that community, like it just brings back like such
like truly like warm, fuzzy feelings for me.
Speaker 6 (14:04):
But here's the thing. A lot of times it's about
the sauce for.
Speaker 7 (14:08):
People, like like you could cook a shoe and put
it in like great sauce, and it's like this is amazing.
But the drop, Yes, one of the things that I
talked about in the book is, you know, I haven't
bought food at a grocery store or meat sorry sorry,
meat at a grocery store in a long time.
Speaker 6 (14:30):
For me.
Speaker 7 (14:31):
You don't have to do it. It's not it's not
a money thing. You don't have to cook meat every
night of the week or whatever. But like going to
a butcher that is serving the meat from farms that
you know, you can say this came from here, and
you know that it's it's being there, being responsibly raised.
It makes the meat taste different, it really does. And
(14:55):
so buying high quality meat. And then what you said,
like a great rub, you don't have to drown the
thing in sauce like it is truly delicious. I'm glad
you found that because that's that's right. It's it's well,
it's about the rub. It's always about It's.
Speaker 2 (15:12):
Always about the rub. It's always about the run. Well,
the book is the seriously good barbecue cookbook. Henk tyme.
We have more Brian Bombgardner coming up.
Speaker 1 (15:19):
You're the full interview now on with Mario donc More
Mario Lopez on the way.
Speaker 2 (15:24):
Mario Lopez, we're having things up with actor Brian Bomgardner
and your podcast Off the Beat. Who who've you been
talking to and what have you been talking about?
Speaker 7 (15:33):
Well, I've just talked to your buddy not too long ago,
Mark Paul m m MPG. I talked to him for it.
Had a great conversation with Blake Griffin very recently. We
talked some NBA playoff basketball, but you know, we mostly
are focused on on people in entertainment. We do some
(15:57):
sports and music here and there as well, but you look,
they're just it's I when I it is my favorite
part of the week. I get to have an hour,
hour and fifteen minute conversation, uh with people whose work
I admire or that I've worked with before, are getting
to know.
Speaker 6 (16:16):
I love, love love.
Speaker 7 (16:20):
Doing that show and the conversations I've had, you know,
from my old friends Steve Carell and Krazinski and Jennif
Fisher and all of them to now Eric stone Street
and Wendy Mallick and John Ham and we got to
have you on there. Hey, I don't know, maybe you're
maybe you're dodging me. I have to figure that one.
Speaker 2 (16:42):
I feel like that was a sympathy invite, but I'll
take it. Thank you very much. I'd love to go,
but only if we can eat ribs and talk at
the same time. Perfect done, Okay, good, very good. Always
good talking to you, buddy. Listen. Pick up the seriously
good Barbecue Cookbook wherever you get books. Bryan, Thanks hanging out.
Speaker 6 (17:00):
Thank you man.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
What a Mario Courtney Lopez here and Edie Falco returning
to her second most iconic role, Nurse Jackie's coming back,
this time on Amazon. Look at that it is.
Speaker 3 (17:13):
Ten years later, and it sounds like Jackie is still
breaking bad. Edie had six Emmy nominations for Best Actress
during the original run on Showtime, winning once.
Speaker 2 (17:23):
What a trip. Ten year break coming back? Good for her.
All right, let's get back to the music. You're Mario
Courtney Lopez. Let's put on her thinking caps. It's time
for Courtney's random question. What you got Tony?
Speaker 3 (17:35):
So, Adam Sandler is making a sequel to Happy Gilmore.
What other Sandler films do you wish had a sequel?
Speaker 2 (17:42):
What was the one with Bobby Bouche The water Boy?
Bobby Bouche The water Boy? I think I think might
be fundy. You know, as I've gotten older and I
look at these films, they really are targeting very young,
very young kids. However, his his more dramatic work, like
Uncut Jams that was that was actually pretty good. I
(18:04):
wouldn't mind seeing that.
Speaker 5 (18:05):
I choose I choose wedding Singer.
Speaker 2 (18:07):
Oh Whatdity Singer was a good one too. That was cute.
That's right with Drew Berry. That was really good.
Speaker 1 (18:11):
Yes, Mario Lopez coming up.
Speaker 2 (18:14):
You're o Mario Corney Lopez timing out for one last thing?
Is a hot wing challenge worth risking your life? A
British restaurant is issuing a challenge eat ten of their
Carolina Reaper wings in fifteen minutes and enter their Hall
of Fame. But you got to sign a waiver acknowledging
that there's a risk of loss of life. Now I
(18:35):
ate two of these Carolina Reaper Oh you had thems? Yes,
I've had them on the set of Access Daily and
I felt it the rest of the day and my
eyes to water and had to drink milk two of them. Okay,
did you sign a waiver?
Speaker 1 (18:49):
No?
Speaker 2 (18:50):
I didn't. That's what I'm saying. But if you could
die if you eat a few, that's come on, nothing's
worth it.
Speaker 3 (18:55):
First of all, I just want to know who needs
to be in a hall of fame so bad?
Speaker 5 (18:59):
Right eating wings that you sign your life away.
Speaker 4 (19:02):
I also feel like this would ruin wings for me
because it can't be delicious.
Speaker 2 (19:05):
No, there's nothing delicious. A bit hot for the sake
of being hot, Yeah, y'all are wild out there.
Speaker 5 (19:10):
I'll take your word for it.
Speaker 1 (19:12):
More Mario Lopez coming up.
Speaker 2 (19:15):
All right, time to pass the mics. We're gonna be
back tomorrow with more music and.
Speaker 3 (19:18):
Fun, lots of new life haack in Courtney's corner. And
til then, this is Mario and Courtney Lopez saying good night.
Speaker 1 (19:24):
Drawn with Mario Lopez
