Mario Fun with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Happy Tuesday to boy Mario Lopez. You are ready to
kick off another few hours of radio fun. Gonna catch
up with actor Aaron Eckhart a little later. Plus my
wife's got another helpful life act to share. We're gonna
squeeze in some buzz and just moments away from chatting
with This is Us star Chrissy Mettz. Tuesday edition of
On with Mario starting right now. Mario Lopez joining me

(00:26):
now on Zoom from the latest season of The Mass
Singer actress Chrissy Mettz. How you doing, Chrissy?

Speaker 3 (00:33):
Hi, how are you?

Speaker 2 (00:34):
I'm well, so nice to see you and I love
that you like to mix it up. You just got
revealed the other night as the poodle moth. First, first off,
what what is a poodle moth?

Speaker 3 (00:47):
Well, it's a very sweet little insect that most people
don't know about with.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
I thought it was a type of poodle. It's a
type of insect.

Speaker 3 (00:55):
It's a month.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
Got it, It's a month understood? Understood? Did you select
that on your own or was it presented to you?
And you said, sort of a collaboration of got it.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
We wanted something that was like symbolic of sort of
you know, going to the light, the light of Hollywood,
you know, like sort of finding myself and all that jazz.
So the costume designer, who was incredible. She and I
sort of brought it to life together.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
Very cool. All right, We got a lot to talk about,
but I got to take a little break. We got
more Chrissy Mattz coming up.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
More fun on the way on with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
Mario Lopez here hanging out with Chrissy Matts aka the
Poodle Moth from the Mass Singer. And you're saying some
Miranda Lambert, Natasha Beddingfield, Billy Joel. What was the next
song you plan? Oh, Jesse j A all right, Jay Okay, Yeah,
I gotta imagine it's difficult to perform in those suits, right.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
People don't know. People do not know. I didn't know
because in theory, sure you're like, oh great, but then
to put it on and like there were so many
pieces and then I had wings and then it was
like I don't even know if I can breathe, how
can I sing?

Speaker 2 (02:02):
So exactly exactly, we'll go to on Mario dot com
to see the Poodle Moth in action. But right now,
let's play more music. What a Mario Lopez here hanging
out with actress Chrissy Metz who was just eliminated from
the Mass singer And I know you're a musician yourself.
Any new music in the works.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
Yes, I am working on some new music. It's almost finished.
I'll have a couple songs coming out soon. And then
I'm working on a second children's album for the second
children's book that nice I've written. And yeah, so you know,
just trying to stay creative.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
I love it as good for you, Good for you,
And you're gonna be performing at CMA Fest in Nashville.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
Fingers Cross is going to work out with this schedule
because I'm doing a new show right now in Charlotte,
So fingers Cross, that's going to happen.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
But yes, hopefully we're looking forward to all of that. Chrissy,
all right, hey, Ty, you gotta play some more music.
You're a Mario Lopez. Got actress Chrissy Metz on zoom
with me, and you mentioned this new show you're on.
Is this the Hunting Wives? It is cool title going
to be appearing on stars. What's it about?

Speaker 3 (03:03):
It is a very juicy scandalous show. I play a
good woman, but listen, nobody's perfect. They're complicated women. It's
said in East Texas, and yeah, it's juicy. I think
people are going to enjoy it.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
Fun. Where you shitting that at.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
We're in Charlotte right now.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Oh well, that's nice down Okay. You've also joined the
cast for Bank of Dave the sequel. Now I didn't
see the first one. What, oh my gosh.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
The first one is so it's like this very sweet,
feel good movie. It's based on a true story of
a man in the North of England in a town
called Burnley. He created a bank for people who couldn't
afford like, who never could get loans, and so I
want to help back, you get back and help my community,
and so you know, I love the tender field good stuff.
So this second the sequel is really about him trying

(03:55):
to take down pay day lenders because you know, they
gouge people and they can never pay it back to
the interesting. You know, they're constantly in debt. So yeah,
I'm a journalist that comes from New York to the
North of England.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
So all fun. Well, best of luck on both of
those projects. Got one more thing I want to ask.
Got to take a little break though. We're gonna wrap
it up Chrissy Metz in just a moment.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
We are the full interview now at on with Mario
dot com. More Mario Lopez on the way.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
Mario Lopez Here, we're having things up with actress Chrissy
Metz and we got to host a parade together. Did
you enjoy that experience? Did you want to do more?

Speaker 3 (04:26):
Okay, you are so incredibly professional and amazing at what
you do. No, seriously, it's like it's so it's unreal.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
Oh you're so nice. See my wife should be listening
to this.

Speaker 3 (04:38):
I'm I'm like, how does he do this? I had
such a good time, but it was a lot of pressure.
You do it like in your sleep. It was so impressive.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
Oh, thank you. I liked this together. I thought we
were a good team. So yeah, that was a lot
of fun. Well again, congrats on everything. So nice to
catch up everyone. Head over to Onwodmario dot com for
more info on all of Chrissy's projects. Oh and by
the way, I know I was going to tell you
thank you so much for sending the wine. Oh love it. Yeah,
it was really good. Yeah, so thank you. I wanted

(05:07):
to tell you, thank you.

Speaker 3 (05:08):
You're welcome.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
Okay, I hope to see you soon. Take care of
take care of music. Rolls on as we recognize today's
obscure holiday. You're on, Mario Courtney Lopez. What'd you find
for us to celebrate today?

Speaker 4 (05:21):
Nichols World UFO Day, congratulations, finally.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
A day for you. They don't call them UFOs anymore.
Remember there was a UAPs now UAPs now Unidentified aerial phenomenon. Yes, wow, UAP.
So this is for the old school UFO brigade.

Speaker 5 (05:39):
And let's not forget the government basically said, we don't
know what they are.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
They're in our skies. Good luck.

Speaker 6 (05:44):
There we go.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
It's time from us see movies with Mario Lopez. And
you know, as far as I'm concerned, there's only one
movie I care about seeing this week. Beverly Hills Cop
Axel f Yes, Detective Axel Foley is back and on
the beat in Beverly Hills. Or his daughter's life is threatened.
She and Foley team up with a new partner played
by Joseph Gordon Levitt and old pals Billy Rosewood and

(06:07):
John Taggert to turn up the heat and uncover a conspiracy.
All the characters you remember from the classic, including Judge Reinhold,
John Ashton as Rosewood and Taggart Bronson Pinchot as Surge
and Paul Reiser as Jeffrey. Can't believe it's been thirty
years since axel fully last graced the screen in forty
years since his cinematic debut, so you know it's gonna

(06:30):
be epic. Pride to Detroit is off to Beverly Hills
once again. And if you've never seen the other movies,
don't worry about it because you don't need to see
any of ther og films to understand and enjoy Beverly
Hills cop axel f because this movie is all about
picking up where the character is today. You got tons
of comedy, incredible music, and endless nostalgia. By the way,

(06:51):
min want to set a reminder to tune in tomorrow
because star Judge Reinhold will be here with the inside
scoop on the movie and the return to Eddie Murphy.
Beverly Hills Cop Acts available on Netflix tomorrow, July third
rated r.

Speaker 1 (07:03):
More Mario Lopez coming up, Mario Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
Here was some quick buzz. Adell making plans for baby
number two. She announced that she wants to get pregnant
soon as she wraps up all of her concert commitments.
Now I don't remember her getting married. I may be wrong,
not that you need to. However, she still wants to
have a baby. She made her plan, so good for her.

Speaker 4 (07:24):
Yeah, well she doesn't need to get married to have
a second baby. Her Vegas residency ends the weekend before Thanksgiving,
so maybe we'll have some baby buzz next year or
by Christmas.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
Mario Lopez here and there's a reason a strap on
your VR headset. We got an exclusive I her radio
live performance from Ray. She's sending her new song Genesis,
plus the tracks Escapism and worth It. It's only on
Meta Horizons World. You can get all the info Olamorio
dot com. Al Mario Courtney Lopez and our daughter Jia

(07:56):
is in studio again. And I have a bone to
pick with you.

Speaker 6 (07:58):
Gia.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
We've had this conversation and I don't ask for much.
You've gotten to the age. We've gotten to the age
where that's.

Speaker 4 (08:05):
His saying every day, I don't ask so much.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
House, I take care of everything and all I asked
for once. All I ask for once in a while
every single weekend, you with me, You and mom defeed me.
That's it. No, let me just say this.

Speaker 5 (08:28):
If you are saying I don't ask for much every day,
you might be asking for too much.

Speaker 7 (08:31):
No, no, no, because you say you don't ask for much.
But the thing is you don't. Okay, you don't ask
for multiple different things. You just ask for the same
thing every day.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
Okay, Well, what is this you're asking for right now?
I'm asking to do these TikTok videos because she is
trying to get to the age where she's or she
is at the age where it's apparently too she's too
cool for school. But what I'm trying to get her
to understand is I'm not just doing these for fun
a lot. It's it's it's sort of business. It's a
whole nother revenue stream to be quite on, because we've

(09:00):
got these these companies that sponsor and stuff. They want
to see the family together, and you know, you're my
only daughter. I need to have you in these things sometimes.
Can you work with me?

Speaker 7 (09:11):
Well, this is your only wife, why can't you do
it with her?

Speaker 1 (09:15):
Well?

Speaker 2 (09:15):
No, she was asked as well. She's also thrown up
almost guys, Like I said, freeloaders, freeloaders. Mario Lopez coming up,
what a Mario Courtney Lopez. Here, Snoop Dogg's having an
online yard sale with some cool memorabilia going to the
highest bidder. He's auctioning off all his stuff from autographed
jackets and jersey down to his PlayStation. Snoop says he

(09:37):
has all these things lying around. He didn't know people
would pay top dollar for it, like his Pimp of
the Year award. Usually an auction house takes a percentage
of the money, and these types of auctions with Snoops
doing it all himself. Play on play I like that
he's having a garage sale. Basically, that's so funny. Music

(10:10):
rolls on as we fire up zoom and get ready
to talk to actor Aaron Atkart Mario Lopez here a
new movie is Chief of Station. Going to get the
scoop on that and catch up with Aaron next. I'm
moving it's up yond Mario Lopez joining me now on
Zoom from the new movie Chief of Station actor Aaron Eckhart.
Welcome to the show, Aeron, how you been man?

Speaker 6 (10:30):
Very good you.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
I'm well, thank you for taking the time. Congrats on
the new movie. Looks like a lot of action and espionage.
What's it about, Well, it's about you know, That's what
it is.

Speaker 6 (10:40):
Is an old fashioned spy movie. You know. We filmed
it over in Budapest, you know, so it's got that
beautiful Cold War feel. It's a lot of action, you know,
a lot of a lot of slide of hand and
handoffs and that kind of thing. You know, good stuff.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
I love it, my kind of flick. Had you spent
any time in Budapest prior.

Speaker 1 (11:01):
Now, I.

Speaker 6 (11:03):
I know Europe pretty darn well. I went to school
in England and in my high school there, so I
was familiar with all that. And you know, considering the
Cold War kind of thing. I lived through that in
the eighties with the Soviet Union that happened in London,
and so I was right in the thick of it.
So to go to Budapest, which was, you know, behind

(11:23):
the Iron Curtain at the time, was very exciting. The architecture,
the Danube, this beautiful river. I was blown away by
the city, and the city really let us use it.
We used all their beautiful architecture in the buildings, and
that's all in the film The Danube. You know, so
if you harken back to the old sort of eighties

(11:46):
spy films, you know, it really resonates with that.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
Well, Aaron hang on, got to take a quick break
and then we're gonna have more with Aaron Eckert more.

Speaker 1 (11:55):
Mario Lopez coming up.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
Get back to Aaron Etcard was on Zoom with us,
been talking about a Zoom movie chief O Station. But
also in the works deep Water where you and Ben
Kingsley is going to be fighting sharks. I believe, is
that true?

Speaker 6 (12:10):
Basic Probably before before we fight sharks, we we have
to go down in the plane. We're pilots together.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
So it's a plane now, don't.

Speaker 6 (12:21):
Tell Reddy, Yes, don't tell Rennie Harland. I said this,
but it's a it's a plane crash shark movie.

Speaker 2 (12:28):
That sounds awesome playing and Ready Arland directing too, that
sounds awesome. I'm in for both of these.

Speaker 6 (12:33):
I said to Ready, you said, how can you miss
with the plane crash and then you're going into sharks.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
Yeah, couldn't get cooler than that. Well, Aaron Eckhart is
hanging out with us few more songs. I want to
talk some more catching up with Aaron Eckhart this hour.
Mario Lopez here and Aaron I got to ask you Max.
We had Nina doughe brev in here not too long
ago for The Brick Layer, and she said, you memorize
the script faster than anyone she's ever seen. What's the
what's the process?

Speaker 6 (12:59):
Well, no, I I I think we had a conversation
and makeup one time and we were talking about that,
and I said, I never step on script, uh set
without knowing the script backwards and forwards to completely memorized everything.

Speaker 1 (13:14):
I'll never do it.

Speaker 6 (13:14):
And if I do do it, it's tough for me.
Uh So for example, right now I'm working with Jesse
again that did did did this movie? Uh? And you know,
I just.

Speaker 1 (13:25):
Spend all day, you know, getting to know my stuff.

Speaker 6 (13:27):
And you know, I'm getting older and I can't remember lines,
you know, as well as I used to. And so
I I make sure that you know this is my philosophy.
I try my philosophy on set is my motto is
I just got to survive the day. I've just got

(13:48):
to survive the day. And the easiest way to survive
is to know what you're doing and to not have
to think about words and not have to think about
character and and when if the director comes up to
you and says, would you mind doing it this way? So, yeah,
absolutely no problem had I not done the homework before,
if the director came up to me and said, Aaron,
would you mind trying it this way? I know it's

(14:09):
not the way you thought about it, but you know
a lot of times you would be thrown by that
and you'd say, oh, I can't do it that way
or I you know, but it just makes the day.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
Go by easier.

Speaker 6 (14:20):
And uh, And so that's my that's my philosophy.

Speaker 2 (14:23):
Absolutely, there's nothing like being prepared because then you have
freedom to be creative. Aaron, hang on for me, gonna
take a quick break, and then we're gonna come back
and wrap it up with Aaron Thatcar. Wrap it up
with Aaron that Car Ard your own Mario Lopez and
before you go erin. You were a bare knuckle fighter
in Rumble through the Dark. I just had a bare
knuckle boxing event that I was hosting. Get involved with

(14:46):
the company this past while it was wild? Did you uh,
did you keep up with any of that training afterwards,
not a start of the bare knuckle, but with the
boxing what have you?

Speaker 1 (14:54):
Oh?

Speaker 6 (14:54):
Yeah, I train every day.

Speaker 2 (14:55):
Hey, good for you.

Speaker 6 (14:57):
I trade every day. I've been training for years. And
uh that movie, that bare knuckle stuff is out of control.
It is these guys.

Speaker 1 (15:09):
It's really interesting too.

Speaker 6 (15:10):
When I watched studying belt, a lot of guys, you know, lawyers,
you know, dentists, whatever, professionals you know that would be
on the side or bare knuckle guys, and they're good.
They go in there and take care of business. And
uh so, what's what's the what's the lesson to be learned?
There is never take anybody for granted.

Speaker 2 (15:32):
Never underestimate anymore. Ye, So I tell my boys.

Speaker 6 (15:35):
They always look at you know, when you're out on
the street, you look at a guy and you always
ask yourself. He said, can that guy? Is that guy
a fighter? What's he got? What's he got in his pockets?
You know, what's his first movement? Mario? I'll ask you.
I always ask all my trainers, all my fiight trainers, everything,
and I always ask him, what's your first move?

Speaker 2 (15:56):
My first move left hook.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
Same as Freddie roach left hook, left.

Speaker 2 (16:02):
Fook, right hand always got I don't let it get
within two feet. Keep my hands up left hook, right hand.
That's first move. All where you go, my man. I
look forward to hopefully seeing you in person soon. Thank
you so much for taking the time. And I know
you were holding up I think your phone or something.
That's awesome. Chief of station is the film. It's in

(16:23):

Is that he loves wrestling too well.

Speaker 4 (17:16):
Fully had big feuds with wrestlers like Steve Austin and
The Rock and was known for his hardcore stunts. So
is he going to do his own stunts?

Speaker 2 (17:24):
See? Stunts? That's how he he was. It was like
a YouTube wrestler and just doing crazy stuff and the
WWE ended up hiring him. Poor guy broke like every

these projects. Really nice guy. Too good for him. Let's
get back to music. You're celabstorting a year older today,
Mario Courtney Lopez here, Fraser tell Us, who's celebrating. We're

(17:45):
going to try to guess right.

Speaker 4 (17:46):
Sawwheedy Salwitty Sawheedy is thirty two.

Speaker 2 (17:51):
Twenty five thirty one Wow. From Bombshell and Barbie Margo
Robbie she is thirty five, thirty eight thirty four. Oh
that young. She's been around. So that's what makes it
scene quite a few minutes thirty while she's really young.
She's a good actress, a parent trap Lindsay Lohan new mom.

(18:12):
Oh she's a new mom.

Speaker 4 (18:14):
Lindsay Lohan is thirty seven.

Speaker 2 (18:19):
Oh no, Lindsay's got to be at least forty thirty eight. Wow,
because she's been around for a while. She's been around,
so she's a child. So yeah, you think like hard,
don't figure out?

Speaker 6 (18:29):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (18:29):
Yeah, jose Canseco, Hey he just texted me. Did he
text you his age? No? But I think he is
sixty two, sixty five sixty wow six? Oh yeah, because
he is only ten ten years older. That's right.

Speaker 5 (18:44):
And Larry David from Kurby Your Enthusiasm created Seinfeld.

Speaker 4 (18:49):

Or Mario Lopez coming up.

Speaker 2 (19:01):
At Mario Courtney Lopez. Here, looks like we have a
new message in our inbox courtesy the talkback button from
the iHeartRadio app. This one's from Chris over in Ohio.

Speaker 8 (19:09):
This is Chris Anderson calling for my friend Russell, who
is a card carrying, T shirt wearing member of the
Debbie Gibson Fan Club. Well, it's kind of scary, he
admits it.

Speaker 2 (19:21):
Oh, you're just hanging on. I thought there was more,
Chris exactly. I can't tell you you're supporting your friend.
Are you just roasting him publicly right now? Yeah? I
don't know if you're throwing under the bus or what's
going on. But we love hearing from you, and listen.
If you want to roast someone or if you got
some to say in a positive light, just tap the
talk back button on the bottom of your heart radio.
As music rolls on, as we get ready to go

(19:44):

a little time to get a song or two on.
By the way, if you got a request, slide into
our DMS over on Facebook. Ad On with Mario All
Mario Courtney Lopez. Justin a the time for one last thing.
The Lopez Ladies hit road last week. Missus Lopez, Gigi
and Grammy all took a little cheer trip like that.

(20:08):
That's how Grammy. She's the first Grammy I've ever met.
I know Granny, but not Grammy. Anyway, The three ladies
took a little trip to Orlando Florida for a big
cheer competition, really the Super Bowl cheer competition, This summit,
correct the Summit.

Speaker 4 (20:25):
Yes, it's a national competition and it is something I like,
I've never experienced before. I mean, I thought Jojo Siwah
would have been in her prime with all these big.

Speaker 2 (20:37):
Bows and you ran into Snooky.

Speaker 4 (20:41):
I ran into Snookies Snooky Snooky's daughter because we follow
each other on Instagram, so I've seen her daughter. She's
a cheerleader and she's super super cute. She was actually
against our daughter and they once Snookie took first place,
our daughter took second place.

Speaker 2 (20:57):
Which is really impressive considering the the top teams in
the nation. And then thirty of them go and ten
have to qualify for the next day.

Speaker 6 (21:04):
That was very.

Speaker 4 (21:04):
Impressive about I don't know exactly, but it was around
thirty to thirty five. Fifteen went to the next day.
Hers was a very big category for some reason. There
was a lot of competition, and then it was Snooky's
daughter and then our daughter. I have video of them
with their groups and so they of course they were

(21:26):
upset because they didn't win. But when you're that close
to number one, you're bummed. Out, but they were for
GA's first competition. It was just it was amazing and it.

Speaker 2 (21:34):
Looks like she still got to go to Disney.

Speaker 4 (21:36):
We got to go to Disney, and you have to
come next year. You just have to be there for
at least one day to experience it.

Speaker 2 (21:42):
Your cheer, mom, I like it more.

Speaker 1 (21:44):
Mario Lopez on the way.

Speaker 2 (21:46):
Okay, that's it, Time for me to pass the mind
big thanks again to both Chrissy Metz and Aaron Eckhart
for joining us almar dot com for my full interviews
with both. I will be back tomorrow with actor judge
Ryan Old Tuo Tak Beverly Hills colp four and a
